When I watch your videos, one word comes to mind: honesty. There's something special about someone doing what they're called to do. It's transcendent. It's honest. It's authentic. I'm reminded to keep that central to my woodworking.
It's not just woodworking, it's art. I always enjoy your videos. And to be honest, I don't watch them right away. I wait until I have the time to enjoy them. Thank you for sharing the working process of your projects with us. Every project ends with a masterpiece. It is a pleasure to see a perfectionist like you working in his environment. Thank you and I hope to see much more from you.
Ishitani San is a skilful carpenter into fine workmanship. In mordern day, you don’t find less around. His furniture build to last. Appreciate time taken.
I had to stop woodworking for awhile. Finally, getting back into it. First video to pop up was this. I’ve missed watching your work. I’ve been re-inspired!
We've seen a lot of Master Ishitani-san's skills over the years - but this is the pinnacle, I think. I'm more impressed than I can express. Thank you for letting us watch.
It’s like listening to classical music, a timeless tribute of working with wood and the finest craftsmanship. An absolute work of art. Thank you for sharing.
Do you have any plans of doing a shop tour video? You have a few interesting machines not common to the USA. I'd love to see an overview of the workshop and the material flow process. Love your work. Thanks for sharing it. Have a great day.
I’m a simple man. I see an ISHITANI FURNITURE video, I watch it several times. And then come back later and watch it more. The absolute best! Thank you for your art!
Amazing, as always. Seeing you use a small wedge between the pipe clamp and panel to correct a panel that bowed under clamping pressure was an "aha moment" for me... simple and effective!
Love watching his videos at the end he makes such beautiful furniture well thought out and just gets on with it. 😊😊 Such a beautiful place where you live especially with the mountains in the background 👍👍
Hello ,Sir! Ur one of my absolutely favorite furniture maker/ designer among , alvar aalto , yrjö kukkapuro & such. Ur vids single handedly got me into making furnitures and learning about japanese carpenter stuff. Love ur work ,past 5-6 years allways w8 ur vids. Mad respect ,thank u ,Sir.
Best woodworker/ designer on UA-cam imo.He dosent try and be all funny and ask you to subscribe and like video. Before you even watch it.. Like all the bearded wannabes. No talk..just gets right to work .And the quality is simply amazing. I WOULD LIKE TO BUY A WRITING DESK FROM YIUR COMPANY. I WILL TRY AND FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET IN TOUCH.
Mind boggling mathematics, & the frame to the top: first slide pressure fit- jaw dropping. We'd love to see you find a helper/apprentice for lifting big pieces on the jointer; as all great masters pass skills along.
I've seen all of Ishitani's videos and when he took the tabletop to the jointer I was shocked! Never seen him doing that before, I was worried about a back injury.
As always, I enjoyed this moment with you and your hypnotic work. Joinery as an art, no bells and whistles to finally craft something looking so purely simple. Thanks to the Ishitani team !
I enjoy watching your expert techniques of fitting and finishing simple designs with their cleans line, (although the work is not simple, but exacting) . Tables, chairs, bookcases; whatever you make is always so beautiful. You make me want to be a better wood worker.
A couple of things please. It gives me great energy watching you create such understated elegant furniture. Always gives me a smile when you perch "on high" looking over grain patterns etc. The photography is excellent....ask me how I know. I'm a one man shop too and once did things I shouldn't like lifting heavy awkward assemblies. The 9 screws in my lumbar spine remind me of each of them. Please do not end up like me.
There's something so Zen about watching you work. No unnecessary chit chat or flashy editing. Just woodworking
Refreshing, isn’t it? :-)
Indeed
much others can learn from keeping chit-chat to a minimum or simply using subtitles...
Agree. Put the chit chat or trivia in the description box. 😊
Awwe yes. The best woodworking trio on the internet!
When I watch your videos, one word comes to mind: honesty. There's something special about someone doing what they're called to do. It's transcendent. It's honest. It's authentic. I'm reminded to keep that central to my woodworking.
