Hi i'm a cabinetmaker too, in france, and sometimes i feel like the most lovely part of this profession is gone, everything seems too simple and bland when you see what the people do by the past and it makes me a little bit sad. So sometimes, like you, i imagine things that most of the time i don't need just to have good time and create something new with a hope that maybe one day it will help this job to get a new breath and the people will consider it again like art and much more than just something functional and replaceable. Maybe on day I will share my creations to the people but until this day I am happy to see someone else with the same desire and I have no shame to say that i cry at the end, not for funrniture but for everything that this work represents and resonated with me. Thank you, sincerely

I must admit as well that you are one of the few woodworkers posting on youtube that I really draw inspiration from and to hear you experience challenges that I experience is encouragement to keep pushing forward. I really appreciate you being vulnerable with the struggles you faced and also your persistence in creating this cabinet. So cheers, great work again!
Nick, your videos are ALWAYS worth the wait. You were absolutely spot on when you made the comment about a gallery piece, because this is truly that. I don’t know if you have ever entered any furniture contests that some high end furniture magazines do, and if you haven’t you most certainly should. I made an open liquor wall mounted cabinet for a friend that I tested myself with by doing some things that I had never tried before such as a blind dado for a shelf, corner dowels for an accent and no metal fasteners and using my scroll saw to make the monogram from red oak. Normally, at this point I would come up with a single word to describe this piece of art, but Nick I have no words because it is beautiful
I don't know how long I've ben watching your content, years, back when you didn't show your face or even talk. NOw this, wow. Not only has your video production gone next level, your woodworking is top level. Nicce work!
21:46, where you talk about mistakes.. One of the best pieces of advice/ philosophy of making that I learned at Art School from my Painting teacher, the late Bob Millis, was 'Don't be precious about your work, remember the sage words of Bob Ross, there are no mistakes, just happy little accidents'. It took me quite a few years and many a Guitar build that ended up either learning to fly or residing in the corner of shame for me to fully grasp the meaning. But I reckon you have come to the realisation that those mistakes are what makes you a better maker.
Seriously Nick, you kept me on the edge of the chair more than once... That final cut on the "door handle"... I didn't realize how important it was until I saw that the upper part was in fact the handle... so absolutely no room for any mistake. I've been following you already for a long time, but this build its just out of this world mate... Congratulations and cheers from Buenos Aires!
In awe of this piece and of you. The courage, patience and perseverance to pull something like this off with such great success is mind-boggling. You should win some sort of award. Thank you especially for sharing your mistakes. It was painful to even listen to you talk about as we've all been there many times. Sometimes, you just need to do it over (the legs) and sometimes it becomes an opportunity for something creative (like the miter joints). I love that you showed both. This video so accurately demonstrates all of the highs and lows of woodworking and I just can't thank you enough. I also really appreciated your honesty about the struggles of working by yourself with no timelines or other people looking over your shoulder. This is way harder than people realize and often times freedom can be not so freeing. Again, thank you for sharing this with the world.
I used to watch your videos a while ago, but I stopped. And I didn't know why. Now that I'm resuming, I realize it was because I was jealous... of your design, of your talent, of your tools, and your success. I'm no longer jealous, now I'm just envious! Keep up the good work! Love from Estonia.
Thank you for this. Not only was the outcome of your labour genuinely breathtaking, you also have a high level self awareness and insight (no patronage intended) that was sincerely moving to hear. You struck a number of chords with your dialogue on the motivators and hurdles behind the way you go about your work and whilst I sadly don’t share your prowess in joinery, I do have a number of idiosyncrasies that appear to be similar to yours. They can be tough to overcome, crippling at times and sharing these difficulties with the world helps so much in helping others move forward. I believe that anyone who has achieved the level of mastery you have has done so exactly because they have a propensity to be self deprecating, their own worst critic, and at times, their own worst enemy. Thank you for sharing 👊🏼
I am not a woodworker. I paint. The process for all artists is to challenge yourself. For you, an artist like you, the bar has risen very high. Don't question yourself or your motivations. Your creations are nonpareil. I have cried from joy over some of your creations. Yep, I am a dork, but beauty should bring one to tears.

A true dream to be able to do something like this one day. Starting out is so intimidating, the cost of tools and wood, the fear of ruining that wood and so on. But videos like this are incredibly inspiring. What a work of art!
Absolutely stunning, a wooden work of art. That staggered lighting bouncing off the layers is like a religious temple. Looks like a painting inviting you in. Magnificent
I waited to watch this until I could give it proper concentration. I'm glad I did. This literally brought me to tears, bro. Beautiful, beautiful piece, but also a wonderful self-exploration you shared with us. Thank you for the care and craft in sharing this journey!
Simply stunning!! It was an absolute delight watching this video. I questions myself and my sanity all the time, striving for perfection, pushing my abilities, recovering from mistakes, watching my work for hours searching for inspiration. It is reassuring to know that even after 30 years of making furniture you experience the same challenges. Thank you! This was a very, very, valuable lesson!
A hobbyist woodworker here...Sir you are true master! What an amazing piece of art! You have no idea how much I have waited for this video...the amount of skill and perfection is something to learn from. You inspire me just like Joseph Walsh inspired you..I have followed his works as well and I am working on a dining table that is made almost entirely of steam bent laminated curves that is are overwhelming with the amount of curves and different angles involved especially when joining together. Learning from your videos is an honour. On this cabinet itself I simply can't think of a way to make it look better, but if I may comment (and I could be absolutely wrong here) I think your videos could use more lighting. That being said, it is nothing major as this could be just me. But man is this cabinet a beauty to the eye! Thank you for sharing your experience!
I'll never have anything that even resembles your workshop, and I'm fine with that because you let me exist vicariously in that space with these videos ❤ and I love it. 😊
This video is a stunning showcase of pure artistry in woodworking! The piece you created is absolutely breathtaking. Your skill and vision come together beautifully, transforming raw materials into a work of art. The intricate details and thoughtful design truly reflect your dedication and talent. Watching you bring this masterpiece to life was an inspiring experience. Keep up the fantastic work-you’re a true woodworking magician!
BRAVO , SIR !... BRAVO !!! ...... 👏😏 I wish my late father, a cabinetmaker, was still around to be able to watch this, he would have been in awe at your skills and creativity... As a retired machinist myself who only took up woodworking a few years back as an hommage to him, I am inspired, educated and entertained... thank you !! From the West Coast of Ireland 😎👍☘️🥃
I watched until the "test build" and then skipped to the end... Was that working? The cabinet, the lighting, etc. are incredible. The foreground asymmetric swoopy leg, the half-tucked shirt of the cabinet door, and the hip spike leg... all together are just otherworldly levels of tacky. Maybe it looks better in person or works somehow in the environment it'll be placed.
That cabinet built is insane! I was really looking forward to the upcoming video and it is 100% successful! You are a great source of inspiration for me, always reminding me how beautiful creativity is. Thank you for sharing yours with us and also your thoughts. The ups and downs that I, and I'm sure many others as well, can relate to. Keep on doing what you love and share it with the world. You make it a better place with every single built. Cheers ✌🏼
I have to admit that I spent most of this video thinking "wtf is a whiskey cabinet ... a cabinet for whiskey bottles?" I'm still not sure I get it but it's an impressive feat.
Have to comment on an aspect of this video build -- specifically the accompanying narrative -- that is uncomfortable: whining. The statement may have passed without much notice, but it stood out starkly to me. As someone who understood immediately what you were talking about at the absolute deepest level of my being, I have to say to you that we, as a species, need to do more "whining." It is your apology for it that is the _problem_, not the "whining" itself. As humans, we have been forged to believe that admitting to mistakes, imperfections and weaknesses is taboo ... wrong ... weak. And this leads to an apology for whining. I am fighting this as well, and I am grateful at a level I believe you know for your putting it out there to hundreds of thousands of people. Eventually, together, we will turn the "wrongful" tide.
The curious thing is that the very essence of the human experience is our malleability, our ability to bend without breaking. As a social species this is very important because every compromise in a relationship or in a society is a little bend away from our own will. And the secret to a happy and social live is to either accept it or find coping mechanisms to deal with it - and whining is (imho) an absolutely proper coping mechanism. There is nothing worse than people playpretending confidence.
@@rafaelwoitzuck3186 If by "malleability" you more imply adaptability, and the ability to thrive with change, then yes, absolutely it is a curious phenomenon to reject a coping mechanism such as "whining." #WhinersUnited :)
Bravo! The finished piece is the work of a true artisan. It's beautiful; thank you for the inspiration. Now it's time to go into my own workshop and build something beautiful
45 minute video that was captivating from beginning to end! You can't say that about most things on tv these days. Stunning, incredible and unique work, there's not a whole lot more I can say as I just don't have the vocabulary available...
No ego here. Just trying to do my best to write a voiceover that hopefully people can relate to. Its not for everyone but im sure there's other woodworking videos out their for you
@@pedullastudioI love that you take your craft to the level of fine art and hold yourself to it. High standards should never be confused with ego. Quite the opposite, I think. The ability to be infinitely self critical and continue to push on, perfecting your work, takes humility and fortitude. That's a truly admirable trait. I suspect one that all the masters of anything have in common.
Why is having an ego seen as bad? It's what enables one to pull this sort of thing off. We all have egos. Sure it can be to much in some people. But in this case it resulted in an awesome piece. When you compliment the work in this video you are stimulating the creators ego. It feels good to him to get praise for his work. That is healthy ego. Nothing wrong with that. If you try to be devoid of ego you will lose all drive. Embrace that inner monkey mind. But also set some healthy boundaries for it. And always remember that it is silly monkey buisness. Don't put the monkey on a pedestal🐒
Wow! You just took the idea of woodworking to a whole new level for me! Spectacular! This is the first video of yours I've watched and I liked and subscribed. Thank You!
It's good to see that we still have some creative minds that push the envelope. I wish there was more creativity in our world versus the boring manufactured items.
This is not a piece I would ever have in my house. It is simply too ornate. Saying that. The level of craftsmanship and detail within are mind blowing! There are certainly details within this that could be used in less ornate pieces and I applaud you for trying and very much succeeding with them. A few of your techniques I may well "borrow" in my own woodworking journey.
man, your work will go down in history, these pieces will become museum pieces, you are on another level, this cannot be from this world, congratulations!!!
This is batshit crazy, in the most complimentary way possible. Such craftsmanship and work! I do craft things too, but mostly in other materials than wood. I am fairly good at what I do and recognize a lot of your challenges. I wonder if I can do what I want - which I know I can, and I am also considering more challenges. My problem is selfdiscipline, if I work alone. And I laughed out loud when you said "It made perfect sense in my head at the moment". Yep, I have been there - many times. Sometimes it turns out great, but sometimes... oh. Very interesting process, with the building, craftmanship, thinking and personal reflections of who you are. Thank you for posting this!

Thank you Steve
Insane!! And I really appreciate your honesty with regards to managing your expectations, frustrations, making "mistake", etc.
Wow. This is a seriously complex, inspiring, beautifully executed sculpture.
Thank you so much!
Absolutely stunning. I feel honored that you have shared this with us. Thank you.
Thank you
Thank you for this.
Agreed!!!! Well said 😊
Wow, someone who understands my art! Thank you so much. I knew I was wasn’t the only one out there. Bless you and there blessed your art. Thank you and your art🤗
That is one remarkable piece of art/furniture !!! And I can see why it took you 4 months to build.
There are so many aspects of it, the legs, the cabinet, the wood choices, there are too many to list.
You really pushed yourself and succeeded !!!
Mr. Pedulla,
Thank you for proving that it is possible to do amazing absolute things. You are a source of motivation and courage! It helps me to want to push my limits and be more rigorous on quality every day.
Thank you
Wow, staggeringly beautiful. This to me, is the benchmark to design, creativity and craftmanship. Please keep doing what you do
Beautiful piece! You’re working through some profound life questions. “Freedom to do whatever we want doesn’t feel very free.” I’ve found more freedom in my faith than anything else in life.
You sir, are the most talented woodworker on UA-cam.
Thats very kind of you
Not just UA-cam, the planet.
Agreed, my mind is blown
@@AmyAnderson-fields Im sure the world has makers on his level that don't create content... He is without a doubt the best on YoutTube and a top tier master....
Absolutely incredible work !! It’s good to test your skills, your patience , your focus, and your ability to push thru a project and come out the other side victorious. You came out on top! Awesome job.
This is just incredible! Such an amazing piece. Can highly recommend the patreon! I have been only for a couple of months but I have learned so much in this time! Well done. I think this is one if not the most complex project I have seen done.
Thanks so much! Glad you're enjoying Patreon
A true dream to be able to do something like this one day. Starting out is so intimidating, the cost of tools and wood, the fear of ruining that wood and so on. But videos like this are incredibly inspiring. What a work of art!
So much of this video speaks to me. My goodness this is stunning.
Thanks so much man. Glad you enjoyed it
This is hands-down one of the most impressive builds I've ever seen, it's just so beautiful. KUDOS to you!
That is the most astonishing piece of craftsmanship and design I have ever seen. Just breath taking.
Thank you. My lighting is just how I want it to create the look I'm after. Its not for everyone but thats what I like
I always seem to land on your videos when I’m in a stall! Thanks for your words in this video, they’re as beautiful as the piece you just created.
46:08 full view of finished product
A truly stunning piece. Not one for a house I'd be comfortable actually living in, but a true gallery show piece.
Wow! Amazing project, I love seeing artists working with so much passion. It's a great inspiration for me. Congratulations! Regards from Uruguay.
Thanks very much!
I'll never have anything that even resembles your workshop, and I'm fine with that because you let me exist vicariously in that space with these videos ❤ and I love it. 😊
I love skipping to the end then watching the whole vid to see how it was put together

BRAVO !!! ...... 👏😏
I wish my late father, a cabinetmaker, was still around to be able to watch this, he would have been in awe at your skills and creativity...
As a retired machinist myself who only took up woodworking a few years back as an hommage to him, I am inspired, educated and entertained... thank you !!

😎👍☘️🥃
How can a piece of furniture be both beautiful and hideous at the same time?
Cheers ✌🏼
Been watching the whole build on patreon and I still couldn’t wait for this video to drop
Thats awesome! Thank you
Stunning. A clear demonstration of 30 yrs hard work and dedication to develop skills, techniques, knowledge and expression of a highly creative mind.
I have to admit that I spent most of this video thinking "wtf is a whiskey cabinet ... a cabinet for whiskey bottles?" I'm still not sure I get it but it's an impressive feat.
That is the most amazing piece of functional art I have ever seen, Thank you for taking me along for your build! Very inspiring.
Would love to see a woodworking video that is not just a 50 minute ad for their patron or random products
Absolutely stunning piece. Thank you for sharing the cabinet and your process. An inspirational whiskey cathedral!
Agreed
Who knew looking at a whisky cupboard could trigger a religious experience?
_Thanks for being you! Much like your work - One of a kind_ .
What an ego!!
No ego here. Just trying to do my best to write a voiceover that hopefully people can relate to. Its not for everyone but im sure there's other woodworking videos out their for you
I was hoping OP was joking 😅
Thank You!
I love your work, it’s the classic “don’t tell me it can’t be done, I’ll be the judge of that”. I would love to spend a week or two working with you.
Wow thats absolutely insane..
beautiful craftsmanship! Thanks for sharing!
those mitre fill splines 👌😘 brilliant work, so inspiring!
Lie Nielsen tool maker here! Love to see our product put to good use well done!
The quality of your builds are extreme, I have no idea how you manage to exceed expectations every time. Amazing job dude!!! 👏👏👏
It's good to see that we still have some creative minds that push the envelope. I wish there was more creativity in our world versus the boring manufactured items.
You are without a doubt the most impressive woodworker I have ever seen. There are no words to describe your talents. Amazing piece of art.
Thanks so much
I'm surprised I watched this whole video but at the end the beauty brought tears to my eyes... good job man
This is not a piece I would ever have in my house.
This is an absolutely stunning piece. I loved watching it as well as listening to your explanation as you were going.
man, your work will go down in history, these pieces will become museum pieces, you are on another level, this cannot be from this world, congratulations!!!
It is as much Art as it is furniture. You struck the right balance. Bravo!
It is beautiful!! You’ve managed to create a whisky cathedral 👏🏽👏🏽
Your videos are always a joy to watch and this one is tops. Congrats!
