It’s a dream. The whole building is just nice, the dust collection in the floor is very clever and the machines are awesome - but there’s another aspect that makes it so beautiful: taste. Check out the colour palette: all wood, green and shades of grey, very few bright, garish colours, and very few logos and brand names. That’s deliberate, and it really makes a difference. Most people’s shops look like a clown has exploded in there. It’s something that can be replicated in a small hobby shop: I very much prefer tools in muted colours or with wooden handles etc., and it works: it makes for a quieter, nicer environment.
If I were wealthy, I would hire him to make every stick of furniture for my house and then come over and install it. Sort of a Frank Lloyd Ishitani style. ❤
Warm climate, warm winter and the workshop is not heated. But you have to wear warm clothes. In Russia, the workshop would definitely turn on the heating and heat it up to 25C, because there is a heating system and the fuel is so cheap. As always, impeccably done work, I am in awe. I really enjoyed watching your work, thank you.
Mr Ishitani, I believe the majority of your devoted followers are English speaking and we love your work - we are all obsessed with equipment and machines - you have to do a workshop tour video explaining your amazing quality Japanese machines - do it in Japanese all of us can use subtitles - cheers.
It's amazing how, without speaking a word, I can completely transport to the Ishitani shop watching these videos. I can almost smell the stove and all the cedar. いつもありがとうございます
I've just come across this chap, and after being a HUGE fan of Norm Abram (The New Yankee Workshop) thought I'd give it a watch. Well, all I can say is I'm hooked on this channel. This guy is incredible, the expertise shown is staggering!! Amazing attention to detail. Ishitani and Norm Abram..The Avengers of workworking!!
Look at the workshop outside. Well arrange Timber for seasoning. Well maintained machines. And a good environment person, waste Timbers for keeping warmth. A very skilful person. Like watching produce Furniture.
All you need is some quality wood, a simple, but effective design (including joinery) and et voila: A piece of furniture everybody likes. Well done Natsuki and Chie. Best greetings from a German carpenter
You've done it again Ishitani crew! Natsuki, It's a wonder how you can design something so simple and show us all of its complexities. At the same time, Chie, youve allowed us to see something so chaotic in its beginnings stages turn into something elegant, serene and calming. However, it is always Shiro who outshines you both LOL! Peace and love from California!
Ah, it is like Spring is here. When Maestro does something it showcases to the world at large that mediocrity can't & shouldn't be celebrated. Someone once said "hope is for the underprivileged", I sure do hope people watch Seńor Ishitani and absorb an iota of his work ethic and the desire to consistently want to pay attention to detail. Thank you for yet another episode of elegance and design made to look simple.
Greeting from Australia Ishitani. So good to see another video. Always loved your style and work, oh and Shiro. Hot and sunny in the south and the snow made me smile. Keep making, videoing and uploading. Regards James One Handed Maker
I’m always happy when you put a video out Ishitani, I love to see you working in your shop producing fine furniture. We have not had much snow here in the UK. Thank you for the video.👍👍👍
True mastery. But to me the crème de la crème is the back! That level of precision is just unbelievable. Thanks for this video. And inspiring me to get into my very cold garage and get to work.
Supreme skills, machinery that costs more than my house, but... a cold workshop, we've got something in common! Wonderful video, keep up the good work.
i love the minimalist furniture and videos, perfect for relaxing. I'm already looking forward to the next video. thanks for sharing, greating from germany
Beautiful and elegant. I love the floating back slat design. Also - I know your shop has the little stove, but if you have to place your glue in a refrigerator to keep it warm, maybe you need a heater upgrade.
It’s a very good day when Ishitani drops a video.
Amen to that
Therapeutic
Agreed.
I swear. This entire shop looks like heaven.

@@mm9773 exactly. Very chill environment for making beautiful things.
With all the hectic and madness around me These videos are the therapy that keeps me connected to the real World...
So happy we still got to see Shiro at the end 🐶
Ahh, a new Ishitani video, all is still right with the world, thank you Natsuki.
I agree
So glad to turn on youtube and see an ishitani furniture video.
If I were wealthy, I would hire him to make every stick of furniture for my house and then come over and install it. Sort of a Frank Lloyd Ishitani style. ❤

I went ahead and hit like 'cause I knew I would. Now I'll watch.
Shiro looks happy at home warm, doesn’t want to be in the cold workshop!
One small shelf for ishitani, one giant video for mankind
It's amazing how, without speaking a word, I can completely transport to the Ishitani shop watching these videos. I can almost smell the stove and all the cedar. いつもありがとうございます
Wonderful job. I was going to ask you about your "little friend" but i saw him at the end of the video!
That's a shelf for generations. He is an artist
I just spent 23 minutes watching him make a small box and loved every second of it
I was worried there for a while… thank you for the Shiro moment! Thankful we still have `em with us.
Man - beginning to end. Well done! Enjoyed it and the end product. You gotta be the most transparent woodworker on UA-cam ❤
The ART of simplicity
Missed Shiro
こんにちは。。動画を再アップロードしていただきありがとうございます...😁 チリ🇨🇱からのご挨拶
So much care and attention even on a "simple" piece.
Always a pleasure to watch your videos. Not only for the fantastic woodworking, but the editing is great too.
Elegant “zen” craftspersonship, no irritating braggadocio, a joy to watch and educational.
As miokti says, a new Ishitani video makes for a good day.
instant like when an Ishitani video is popping up
Thanks for the parting shot of Shiro... can't have a video without him. ;-)
Always a treat when your videos show up on my feed. Thank you so much for all the work you put into these videos! Much love from Chicago!
Small projects, but big work all the same. Can never have enough clamps in a woodwork area! Beautifully made video.

Thanks for including Shiro at the end… I was getting worried.
Very nice, as always. I like the ship-lapped back and the way you installed that after the box was glued together. Arigato!

Ensambles perfectos. Lamentablemente la gente no está dispuesta a pagar este tipo de trabajo. Pero es un trabajo excelente para uso propio. Gracias.
