Honestly I felt SO bombarded during Black Friday I ended up kind of freezing. It felt like being in a house of mirrors all saying “buy me” and being totally overwhelmed. All I ended up buying were socks and a tub of the CosRx snail cream as a result. I’m pretty content with my tiny haul. PS. I preordered! And put in a request with my library to have it added!!!
I have been spending every moment ive been on UA-cam over the last 2 weeks (approx an hour a day) watching older New Make-up, Hot Takes videos, and past beauty budget videos. And they have been an absolute tonic for my soul. Lots of stuff happening at work and in my personal life, and I've found myself wanting to shop for make-up and treat myself. I have a teeny tiny make-up collection. Been tempted to grow it. But have stopped myself (because only fantasy me wears foundation every day, real me cannot be bothered and doesn't have time in the morning for that complexion work). And HLP has made me feel good about that decision. And I appreciate her so very much for the level of level-headedness she has helped me bring to thinking about my beautiful things budget. I think I would have less cognitive dissonance if it came after showing us some thoughtfully picked out items, rather than an excited showing of a face of gifted products, which you admit made you feel less stressed. I am more into excess anyway!
I have to say, this was the first year that blk fri really got to me. I'm usually not interested; but for some reason it became a stressful problem. I'm not sure if I've just been online more, or I'm more susceptible this year, but I gotta figure it out way before next round. Purchasing stress is something none of us need in our lives.

I love to see a brand doing truly sustainable packaging, I'm really hoping to see beauty brands shift to pure aluminum and glass packaging, just formed and etched/ embossed so it's all easy to recycle or reuse, but that feels unfortunately unlikely
Thank you, Hannah, for being an island of sanity in this crazy world. Black Friday was fairly easy for me this year. As always, I wanted make up, but I settled for two items that I kind of needed and have been wanting for a long time. Very small investment and I resisted a lot of things that I don’t need and knew that I would’ve regretted purchasing. On the clothing front, I have been desperately in need of some new clothes, and so I fully took advantage of a deep discount from one retailer, ordering a lot of things in my size, which I am not able to get in store, trying them on at home and then sending back what doesn’t fit and what doesn’t work for me. So ending up with a very small, crafted selection of items that I can wear over and over and over again. That was a larger investment but I think that will pay off for quite a while. Oh and all I am very very proud of myself, thank you again again for your help and support on navigating the marketplace

fully agree! just make sure you’re moisturizing heavily after (and generally to keep up the good results you just achieved) and don’t use it on any active wounds or fresh skin (pretty sure that’s true of all acids but worth saying again)

In addition to what others have said about MOB x Jessica Haze being the products/colors you might lean towards, Jessica was brought back in again for the 3rd time in October and it looks like they'll be adding at least 6 more cream clay eyeshadows, an eggplant cake liner, a grungy sparkle balm, and a black lip balm! (They mentioned setting the cream eyeshadows with the translucent setting powder if there's any creasing issues.)
I was disappointed by the Mob cream eyeshadows creasing, but then I set with translucent powder and it has become my most long wearing eye look! Actually shocked bc everything creases on me.

I love MOB beauty, the foundation is so nice it’s light feeling on the skin but is long wearing, just the cream bronzer in the lightest shade which is more rosy toned and it’s just lovely
I would be very interested in a MOB review. I have one cream clay eyeshadow that also creases on me but that I still love. They have a lot of colorful grungy shadow colors they made with Jessica Haze (love her!). I am wondering about the lipsticks and mascara; apparently the bronzer is also a very good fair skin one.

I had a double edge sword experience this morning when I realized HLP posted a video just after I had left the gym yesterday where I could have been watching it on the other hand that means I got to watch it this morning. Hopefully, Hannah will see this in like my mixed metaphors.😂
This Black Friday was the first BF ever that I used for buying stuff. My husband and I have recently moved into a smaller place than we had before, and we needed some furniture. We got a good discount on designer chairs, a sofa and a swivel chair (my heart's desire) . ❤
It’s been so interesting having started a no-buy year on November first because I am never interested in Black Friday, but this year my dopamine receptors were like “buy alllll the presents!” I spent about a month and a half really planning out the no-buy. I thought a lot about what’s allowed and what’s not, etc. gifts are allowed, but my brain really wanted to do THE MOST this year for gifts. The combination of the overactive brain reaching for a dopamine hit and how wild marketing was this year got me a bit. I was able to rein it back in, but woo! Maybe don’t start a no-buy right before the holidays, Tina. 🤦🏽♀️😂

Avene Cicafalte as a night cream is so good for winter skin! Calms down my redness prone irritatated skin. I also use it on my kids' dry skin and it works wonders.

I ordered 2 things I knew I wanted, from brands that never do sales otherwise: Thursday Boot Company (where the boots weren't on sale, but they throw in a freebie leather conditioner), and a Pamela Card necklace, which I am slowly trying to build up in my collection. And then, it's all your fault, two everyday bowls from East Fork, that just arrived yesterday and are every bit as beautiful as I'd hoped.
Hydrafacial!! I love them. Get it from a reputable spa though, not the watered down version some cheaper spas sell. Also, Biologique Recherche facials are incredible
I really love those RMS serum lipsticks! my favorite shade is the Ruby Moon bright red, which is surprising for me (because I usually like plum-brown-raisin colors)! Mickey, Angela, and Monica are also great colors. It also doesn't transfer to masks!
Ooh, another MOB Beauty review! Have you tried their soft matte lipstick in the shade M102, by any chance? I think it's from their work with Jessica Haze , and it looks very desaturated and greige-y. There are three shades in that group in total, including M119 and M120, and while all three look intriguing, the first one made me think of you!
The Ciele Skin tint is uncomplaining makeup. It’s the best shade match I have ever had for my neutral olive skin. It works over every spf I have tried and lasts all day!
Shade 7…it’s a natural finish. It takes on the characteristics of whatever you put underneath it. On its own, it’s a natural finish that does not slip around.
For Black Friday I just bought things I normally buy,like my laundry pods and some products from the ordinary, that I will use anyways and at a discount so I stocked up a little since I know I will definitely use them all up 😅

I ordered 2 things I knew I wanted, from brands that never do sales otherwise: Thursday Boot Company (where the boots weren't on sale, but they throw in a freebie leather conditioner), and a Pamela Card necklace, which I am slowly trying to build up in my collection. And then, it's all your fault, two everyday bowls from East Fork, that just arrived yesterday and are every bit as beautiful as I'd hoped.

I really love those RMS serum lipsticks! my favorite shade is the Ruby Moon bright red, which is surprising for me (because I usually like plum-brown-raisin colors)! Mickey, Angela, and Monica are also great colors. It also doesn't transfer to masks!

Ooh, another MOB Beauty review! Have you tried their soft matte lipstick in the shade M102, by any chance? I think it's from their work with Jessica Haze , and it looks very desaturated and greige-y. There are three shades in that group in total, including M119 and M120, and while all three look intriguing, the first one made me think of you!

The Ciele Skin tint is uncomplaining makeup. It’s the best shade match I have ever had for my neutral olive skin. It works over every spf I have tried and lasts all day!

Shade 7…it’s a natural finish. It takes on the characteristics of whatever you put underneath it. On its own, it’s a natural finish that does not slip around.

I been overspending in general, and I need to get it in control. I get overexcited about a certain topic and spend too much. Recently it’s been fashion. It’s hard and not just with clothing. I don’t know if I can do a no-buy, but I don’t want to try a low buy and fail. I might watch some of your older videos on how you overcame it.

Super curious about the claims on the RMS lipstick now but find 35 buckaroos steep- would love to know in the future if they are truly as ~magical~ as they sound. I’m most intrigued by the staying power of the stain! Fun video, somehow hadn’t heard of most of these products
