For starters: "Many people mistakenly assume this Christmas classic has been around for years and that it is of European origin. But it was written in 1962 during the Cuban Missile Crisis as a powerful plea for peace by a man who had experienced the horrors of war." (French-born Noel Regney). He once told an interviewer - “I am amazed that people can think they know the song and not know it is a prayer for peace... But we are so bombarded by sounds and our attention spans are so short.“ You'll notice there are no direct references to Jesus, Mary, God, etc. Instead it speaks in more general, human terms and the discrepancies between the rich and the poor.

You need to check out the seasonal song Do You Hear What I Hear?, arranged by the beat boxer Adam Rupp. It is ear candy and there is a lot going on in the background so you need to wear HEADPHONES. It is fantastic and the video setting is pretty COOL too.

Percy Sledge was the first person I have ever heard do this song which I'm sure had other cover but Michael Bolton was very good but Home Free is the best, and to think this was done during the Covid 19 Lockdown with all the others filming their parts from their home studios witch the created so they could put out Video to keep us Home Fries entertained. Well, Austin still believes in romance. His Amberley was there in the studio, and he was singing this to her. He is writing romantic songs for her all the time. They are the epitome of what a loving couple is. I am a Boomer. I have had many romances. I miss those days. Today's women seem to believe they don't need men. How wrong they are!
