One example of an old tech that was once considered "TAS only" being newly implemented in an RTA setting is the "Quick Grab" tech, where you cast a spell on the same frame as getting a Relic, so that the screen freeze from the spell overrides the freeze from the Relic, saving a whopping one (1) second each successful attempt.
Some racers in the Bounty Hunter tourney to mixed success, and it's cool when they pull it off, but no race has yet been close enough for this tech to decide the winner.
It's wild that we're still finding new ways to play old games. A community really thrives with an active modding scene. Respect.
Unintended tech is the reason that the FPS series "Tribes" became a thing. An easy-to-use exploit allowed players to "slide" along terrain, and the devs decided "hey, this is pretty fun, lets deliberately program this in future installments"
Imagine these castle modifications also being randomized? Like: some exist, others don't, depending on the seed.

why can't he get the damage blast at the start to knock himself into the next room to skip death stealing your gear or is that disabled?
The big toss? That only works on Luck mode, which would be suboptimal for most of the cases as you get less overall stats, and most of the time starting equipment is not that big of a deal to outweight the lower starting stats.

I'ma try to give you some quick pointers.
Randomizers in general take all the items in game and scrambles their original locations in order to beat the game in a different order than originally intended.
This preset limits what is randomized and to the degree that it is randomized(as in how deep or secretive is the actual progression items) while also adding a new feature (the magic mirror) which allows you to warp between the two castle(completely unique to this one randomizer)

You can't. Alucard will just say "What?!" and nothing will happen. Same thing with boss rooms
No, Eldri7ch thought of that and programmed the Mirror specifically so that you couldn't just use it to skip the Vlad Relics.
However, if you find the Mirror early enough, you can use it to skip past the magically sealed doors you'd usually open with Jewel of Open.
It would be like Halo 2 bringing back BxB and BxR, or whatever your button combo was in settings outside of default, and double shotting, or Halo bringing back double grenades with B, L, B, lack of skill usually gets it patched, because other's can do it, an other's can't besides being a "bug" same concept of "YYing" your reload in Call of Duty to cancel it, or switching weapons in old Battlefield for a automatic sniper
Reload cancels should be a FEATURE, not a bug, those are the kind of exploits that add depth to a game. Combos started out as a similar exploit, then Capcom decided to roll with it to make them an intended part of their later fighting games. It only becomes an issue when the tricks become RNG reliant and actually pulling them off comes down to luck(and even then there's people that'll try to make use of them if they can get to an acceptable rate of utility or pull some kind of RNG manipulation tactics to brute force consistency out of them).
@@metalmariomega , if anything, one bullet, you have to remember one is always in the chamber, even if you take out a mag, it's close to reality, because no amount of raising your gun up and down puts your mag back in your gun. Agreed which is "B(melee) X(reload) R(right trigger/fire)" in Halo should be a feature, they're Spartans read the books, they can run 100mi in 5 minutes, along with "B X B" which was a double melee utilized with crouching you could win, even if you initiated the "B X B," or countered with a "B" "X" "R" without getting into double shots which was just "R(fire/right trigger)" "X(reload)" spam, and shoot 6, instead of a 3 burst with the BR (Battler Rifle), which helped win a shoot off if down on the first shot. Most of these don't work now even on Xbox Connect an I don't mean the 360 feature, but the computer port, to still play "live," when I last looked decades ago, an definitely not in the game anymore, to many "hacker" complaints, besides modded controls to perform the sequence irregardless at "AI" programmed speeds, which destroyed any true competition in the games community, because trolls, an, or griefers exist.
Don't forget RRX and YY to cancel some of the sequence before the reload
@@Bagle86 , true, "R(fire/right trigger)" "R(fire/right trigger)" X(reload" is double shot, I don't know the button setup someone is playing, you can "Y(switch weapons)" "Y" reload, but "B(melee)" "X" "R", or "B" "X" "B" was quicker, situational of course on your play style and map, I was strictly hardcore/free for all/doubles, I'd play "BTB" with other's for fun, you could do it with the pistol, but you have to time it just right, don't know the coding explanation, but it use to work the BR, BXR doesn't even work, anymore they patched it out in the end along with BxB, which changed pvp dynamics, yes, it was a "2v1" you BxR one, out BR the other with a double shot, double kill, or BxB them down, now it's 2v1 goodbye...since those mechanics don't exist, boiling back to Dr4gonblitz's point of certain utilities of a mechanic in a game. Which Castlevania could have a come back but in my unpopular opinion it would have to be this 2d play style with better graphics, an in game content, with massive amounts of play time, which games tend to shy away from these days. It takes 72 hours for the average person to beat FF7 no guide/no previous knowledge, most games barely have 8 hours of play time irregardless of pvp, can't isolate the pve audience, the randomizer did work and this should be on the play store, not a remastered version, people "no life" these games, or what I would say find enjoyment in, but you got to stir it up, VR isn't going to catch, it's just beyond that line of too much...example, hey, want to go out to eat? Yea, one second let me take my VR setup off. 😂🤣😂, over just putting a controller down/cut off due to auto saves, without getting into an emergency in a VR setup.
I find it pretty funny the difference between how a speed running might see a glitch or exploit versus how a developer would. Like if you have a dodge roll or a backdash that is spammable and is technically the quickest movement option the speedrunners might like it but those working on the game would see it as janky and would probably just add lag in the next game to it and just make your general running speed quicker. One of the quickest ways to know if something was intended by the developers is to look at the sequel and you'll see that they often add lag to things that were being spammed in unattended ways. Like DB brings up Indy metroidvania but even in Metro Manila themselves they never let you have the back dash or other things that sotn does. Because to be fair imagine doing an entire run cycle and instead of that they watch gameplay and it's just someone doing the first couple frames of a backdash animation, not even letting it finish lol. I'd rather just give you a run button. Like a lot of people like melee, (I don't really, I prefer the games after) but you can see from all the games after the things that they tackled and got rid of. probably to put the game more in line with what they wanted. And the people who want that kind of gameplay just made their own games
