- my run from Awesome Games Done Quick 2020 in Orlando, FL
AGDQ is a week-long speedrunning marathon raising money for the Prevent Cancer Foundation.
Crowd Control is a Twitch Extension that allows people from the chat and live crowd to alter my game WHILE I'm playing.
This was such a fun run to be a part of, I'm so glad WarpWorld chose to work with me for this run.
Of course Patty, Emosaru and Jaku were wonderful on the couch.

I'm glad to see Patty back at a GDQ after Bonesaw's Jak and Daxter run. I didn't think that would happen.
I've watched this a few times now and I think one of the coin spenders, or maybe even several, knew where the hammer was and worked extra hard to troll Andy when he tried to get it. Death Mountain is a great place to throw any effect on him, granted, but when he went back the second time with a stock of faeries there was an unusual spike of lethal effects thrown his way. Given that the 'code' was displayed before the run properly started, it probably wouldn't have been too hard to get a spoiler sheet and mobilize chat.

Considering just one of those games just took almost 4 hours odds are both of those would take more than 8. I loved the commentary in this run and honestly it was the only thing that made me watch the whole thing.

New Crowd Control feature. Live updating sprites.
Of a sort - you can make custom sprites for the game, and as Korietsu mentioned, Crowd Control lets people decide which of a pre-selected group of sprite-sets the game will display. The Pug is Andy's go-to thing, but there was also regular Link, Zero Suit Samus, and Psyduck available (amongst others that I forget off the top of my head :V)

Honestly, what's the point of a 1-hit KO effect if you can effectively kill the player at will? Sure it costs alot more to activate, but just having it is way too overpowered. I dunno, just seeing andy get killed randomly beyond his control ruined the run for me. Thankfully, the commentary alone kept this from being a very dull run.

So the "invisible conveyor belt" in water palace, looked like having Ice Physics in a room with a water current triggered that. Which means, if you can turn on that water current flag at will, you can totally make that happen as an effect, I'm pretty sure.

@@ThonyHedgehog Absolutely worth it in my opinion. Any banter / jokes Patty makes are golden in these runs where he's with Andy. They both make an enjoyable run go from "this is pretty good" into "This is so entertaining, I will watch it again and again in its entirety even if it is super long."

This is, from start to finish, the most amazing, entertaining and incredible speedrun in all GDQ history. Awesome runner, awesome couch, awesome game and awesome community.

This run and the Metroid:Impossible run were some of the highlights of the event for me. Really enjoyed this run and loved the commentary for the Metroid run!

The people that complain about Patty are bitter people who are lonely and have no friends. Jealous of the guy who constantly makes his closest friends laugh. Patty seems like an incredibly fun person to have around and I can see why Andy loves having him around.

Absolutely hilarious run, haha. Him constantly dying did get a little annoying at points, but such is the nature of chaos I guess.

Not to mention the fact that they prevented him from getting the one item that would make killing Aga one totally pointless lol

Aaaahahahahahah bug net was only 42k coins but the crowd had already spent like 1.5 mil on deaths and OHKOs. xD
This and the Super Metroid Impossible run were the definite highlights of this AGDQ. Great job not completely losing your mind from the one-hit deaths and random deaths.
This is honestly one of my favorite videos. It's always great to see a GDQ where you can show your skills while Patty sits back and talks crap. Absolutely love it.
The SUPER SECRET SURPRISE ENDGAME EFFECT was balanced out by Andy at the end. I loved Patty playfully firing shots, but the end was what had me in absolute stitches. Both of you were a m a z i n g the whole time though, never knew I'd be watching a LTTP rando for its comedic value the whole way through, but there I was.
So hey, this week\month has been pretty rough, but this really perked up my day. Thanks to Andy and the couch and GDQ for bringing me this joy.

Oh man, I missed this run live, but Im so glad I came back to watch it. Im 11 minutes in and not getting any work done.
Imagine how bad it would have been if there was a thing which instead of just reversing controls, it would shuffle them all, allowing R&L to be usable if you don't have the quickswap on.
There's sort of a hack like this for super Metroid that shuffles all controls every door transition. It's pretty ridiculous lol

Literally the one thing I wanted to watch live and I missed it. I've been excited for this since the schedule was announced!
