Seriously thanks SO much for featuring Perennial Order in this video, and for the thoughtful review and feedback! We appreciate you checking out our game and are glad you enjoyed it!
video 1 hour ago , your post ,1h ago , seems like you had a deal in the first place .
@@jackplisken4738 It says they are an hour apart for me.
@@jackplisken4738the times aren't always accurate. It shows it to me as released 2 hours ago and This comment 1 hour ago.
@jackplisken4738 yeah if you comment within the same hour of a video, it says 1hr ago, or matches because UA-cam doesn't show minutes man.
Shouldn't be so cynical!

The audience seems to be whoever resides in the middle section of the venn diagram for 'sonic furries' and 'early-2000s rpgs'.
May not be a "gooner" game, but the dev is 100% a furry.
@@otto5639 and that's why I've been keeping an eye on the game it looks so fun
@@otto5639 what's the difference
I honestly agree with the comment you made at the end. I think videos about non-soulslike games, maybe the indies you play on the side, would be very interesting. You’ve catered a great audience and I think exposing them to lesser known games would be great and help out many indie devs out there.
Dude I know there are a ton of great indie devs of other genres, I’m hear to leave that alone. It’s not indie anymore but if I hear about Stardew Valley one more time, I’ll go into a coma.
@@EldenRingPlayer-q7cAn indie game is a game made by a solo/small team of developers, generally without support from a large publisher. Just because a game is popular doesn't mean it isn't an indie game anymore.
Bro that woman scared the living shit out of me.
I was not expecting that. The sound effects budget in that game went into the horror aspect lmfao

Finally, a game with a character creator I can relate to
Holy hell he's still going
Only thing that holds him back is the release schedule of games :P
I hope he never stops!
The profile pic really adds to this
Its ez money tbf
Yeah, he’s treating his community like a paycheck.
You can tell when he asks for platform mechanics he's actually winking and nudging for a Grappling Hook.
he should play sanabi
Nine sols is genuinely one of my all time faves, the ending made my cry like a baby. Thanks for reviewing it
Agreed, I highly recommend it to anyone that liked parry games (sekiro/lies of p) and the story shouldn't be slept on either (and there's a LOT of hidden meaning if you look up chinese mythology afterwards) . The final "real" boss fight took me five hours but was insanely good. An absolute gem
I've had it on my list for a while, but I'm not really going to be able to play it until it comes out on PS5, so I'm waiting eagerly for that
I remember Enotria being pretty buggy when I first played the demo. I decided to preorder, because an Italian SFM youtuber named Thepruld worked on the cinematics. It's not the worst thing in the world. The combat is okay. And the devs listened to some feedback I gave them and added nonhuman enemies like crabs and dogs. Even if their placement in the world seemed like a last moment thing, they earned my money for trying to change things for the better.
its not a bad game, not great either. u can clearly see the devs put a lot of work into that game but its just too pricey imo
It's definitely one of those game that falls into the category of "It's a shame because it has a lot of potential". There are a lot of good things going on with Enotria, but almost none of them hit the marks, sadly.
I kinda want to buy the game just to support the devs because it's very clear that they made the game with so much passion and love. I really wish they'll make more game after Enotria and learn from the mistakes they've made.
@@G1nSan3 I'd say it's bad.
There are a lot of bugs. Some are small but annoying (elevators that can bug out and end you) and others that are literally game breaking (if your game crashes during a boss fight you can get stuck in the room forever if you don't have a limited consumable on you). You also have characters who simply aren't voiced at all. As an added bonus talking to them can randomly freeze your game. Those are a few I've encountered in my short time with the game and that doesn't even begin to mention the laughable balance (bosses routinely freeze up and you can break aggro entirely for many of them without them bugging out).
Also, sorry @Vandalgia but passion and love means absolutely nothing to the quality of a product. We're not their parents, they don't get points for trying.
The fact that these continue to get longer is hilarious, but also, I really appreciate your in-depth look at these games. You don't come into it with the same vibe as other reviewers, and really try to find the heart of each game.
THEY KEEP GETTING LONGER,
PLEASE KEEP GETTING LONGER.

Thank you for playing our game Perennial Order! (I am the artist!) We really appreciate you featuring us, I can’t believe you played the entire game! Your recommendation really helps small teams like us. Thank you so much!
Nine Sols became one of my favorite games after beating it 2 days ago. Such an incredible experience. Due to the lack of hearing people talk about it I probably wouldnt have known about it if it wasnt for your video from a while back. Thank you for this series
We joked about the fact that each video of this type are longer each time.
To that, Pineapple answered "Bet"
I thank you for your dedication Steel Fruit, your work is our joy !
So the dev for Atlyss is an NSFW artist, however they've stated that the game itself wouldn't be NSFW aside from the very obvious character sliders and some boss attacks as you saw. Also afaik the game is still a W.I.P so there's also definitely more to come
Fun fact: You weren’t far off on the game you thought was “gooner bait”. The artist themselves has made nsfw art of most of those characters.
It's funny because outside the obvious design choices, it's like, soft gooner bait rather than full blown gooner bait. I looked it up once before after seeing it mentioned in comments of a letsplay for pseudoregalia, and remember the dev saying there aren't any intentions for it to be NSFW in the future
@@jormilos gooner bait is gooner bait, glad your so we'll versed and researched in gooning though brother
@@owenbunten6536 i don't care what it is, if it plays well it's a good game and there's clearly a lot of work put in.
Gooner bait that's genuinely creative and interesting is not really an issue honestly.
@@ectothermic yeah you can play your over sexualized...animal game. I will pass, enjoy ig
I just want to appreciate how kind pineapple is on these reviews. Really gives me the vibe that he's someone that genuinely loves games, loves seeing new ones come out, loves the excitement of a new or different experience.
Despite having every chance in the book to reasonable dog on a game, he is very respectful and very conservative most of the time about not just berating all of the poor things of the game, and very consciously only giving out constructive nuggets of wisdom, from someone who is very well versed in the genre.
Long winded way of just saying im impressed almost every single video with how swell of a dude pineapple seems to be. Love the videos as always, would watch even if they werent souls-likes, as long as they were still interesting to pineapple himself.
WHY DOES FATHER GREGORY HAVE SO MUCH SWAG
Well said. He understands how these are all made by small teams and he reall wants to see everyone bring a project out to their fullest potential.
my friends play PSO Blue Burst with kiseff (Atlyss dev) all the time on a private server. He is absolutely just making a gooner PSO retroclone with more exciting/modern combat and I'm so happy he's doing it without holding back a single ounce of his freak nature for it
PSO BB is still so fun even now. Glad to see its influencing developers to this day.
Based
I used to follow him on twitter before i even know he was a game dev lmao. Glad to see his game seems to be going well
hey im fine with gooner as long as it still has substance and atlyss does
I will NEVER skip a iron pineapple ad segment

I liked when he played Lies of Dark Core of the Demon Nioh in the end, truly Elden experience!
Just finished my first play through of Elden Ring. Something I never would have done with out your channel, because I always thought I would hate my experience. Thanks for being one of the best channels for any game community!
Best game of all time baby
How is bro still finding these games, i mean at this point this series might go on forever.
I can't believe our game is the longest one in this video! thank you so much for featuring Perennial Order, you're a legend!
im glad that i found a video that was released less than 5 minutes ago, makes it 1000x that its a creator that i binge watch nonstop
Thanks for still keeping this series going Iron Pineapple, you my favourite Content creator
"I did it! I did it!... We did it!" 😆
Bro just throwing his friend's efforts under the bus after that whole "Yo, I'm on the Power of Friendship shit."
The previous episode, with the frogsouls-like and with the retrosouls-like Angeline Era, was probably my favorite of the series yet and showed me plenty things im legitimately going to buy. So I think an indie showcase of things not just "souls-like", like those 2, and others that I know I've wishslisted (but cant recall in particular off the top of my head), is an amazing idea and I whole-heartedly trust your opinion to show things we will love.
You have an eye for quality, and it would mean the world for aspiring devs who just cant seem to reach a spotlight on their own, I'm sure. This series has done so much for so many developers, and for so many viewers who need a great game to dig into.
kiryu in the thumbnail, sleeper agent activated
Seeing that was so funny because I was watching a video about Yakuza when I got the notification.
episode 26 is crazy... I didn't think even getting to 20 was possible so 50 or even 100 is beginning to sound possible
I will always love and cherish this series. Arguably my favorite on UA-cam, but I've come to like your personality and takes on video games as a whole. I for one would love to see you tackle the indie space as a whole instead of feeling like you are being shoe horned into only covering souls-likes. Souls-likes can stay as their own video, but have them weaved in between other indie games. Maybe even make souls-like videos semi annually or really even just once a year so they can feel more "special" in a way. What I would love to know is would you cover any indie game or would you structure each video around a different genre? Regardless I'd still watch it like the metal fruit addict I am.
Its a good day
Home Alone IS a Souls-like. Joe Pesci was Ornstein and Daniel Stern was Smough.
I’m so torn on the second game, because it definitely looks weirdly horny, but LITERALLY everything else about it looks DOPE. Killer vibe, crisp and colorful art style, cute (if suspicious) character designs for NPCs and enemies, and the gameplay looks sick!
I hope that whatever community develops for this one isn’t too… icky, cause I’d love to try it if the other players aren’t actively uncomfortable to interact with.
If it helps, the dev said that game won't have any nsfw in it. It's just the sliders and some suggestive attacks. It all seems more silly than anyting.
HOME DEFENDER really just flashed me back to the bizarre HOME ALONE game, anyone remember that weird gem, where you got ready until it was midnight or whatever then the wet bandits show up? One of those oddly hard PC games of 90s that weren't hard due to goo's execution of challenging gameplay...
Noticed some longer form videos lately. It works well with your insight on “souls like”. Getting to see more of the deep dive into each game is definitely worth it. One of the few creators I’ll leave play a 2 hour video in the background and actively watch. Keep it up
Platforming mechanics would bring the gooning game over the edge, you say?
LOL
Atlyss is the weirdest mix of "90s anthropomorphic animal game" (Ratchet and Clank, Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, etc) and "Weird furry bait".
Crazy how this series is just movie length eps now, love it!!! Keep up the great work
At 20:50 the ability being called cross with that mechanic seems to be a smash reference, as one of the character named Nesa has that same move. He lets out a big green spaeking orb that travels in am arch, and is set off manually by the player. The name of Ness's version is called PK Crush, however it's commonly misheard as PK Cross.
I love these devs already
I now see that its got Bulborbs too, gamecube enjoyers wet dream
So I wanna point out that Ness's big explosion move is actually PK Flash. You can see it in the move list. But for some reason, Ness makes it sound like like it's PK Pulse. Weirdly enough, Kirby says PK Flash a lot clearer than Ness does when they copy the ability.
Spongebob is my favorite souls like lmaooo. Im glad you uploaded Pineapple I love you!
genuinely one of my favorite series on youtube! so happy to see another release. i can't explain it, but watching these videos really makes me happy, and the commentary about the design of the games is always so thoughtful and well drawn. nine sols looks amazing, and i really want to check it out! i'm a huge fan of daoism-inspired xianxia/wuxia stuff, so the worldbuilding seems right up my alley!
This was another fun one to binge, my guy. Honestly, I'm totally okay with the transition from this being about Souls-Likes to having less since while I like Souls-Likes a lot, the extra variety we get by just looking at, "things that look neat," gives us a lot more variety to gawk at.
I legit dropped everything the moment i saw this. I love this series
I feel with the 47:22 "dodge to stagger", it'd work very well with a short cooldown and maybe a little less stagger buildup
I look forward to this series more than actual TV shows I keep up with
Incredibly touching to hear your opinion on nine sols as it has also gone down in my personal history book of favourite games - on the topic of the final boss though, I am going to assume this opinion is based on the true ending version? If so, I totally share your take on it, so much so that I saved the fight on my phone's camera roll to look back at every now and then :P
he is a menace
they fear him
they hate him
for he is the antithesis to short form slop content
"Damn it! Six Queens!" might be my favorite moment from one of these videos, legendary moment
RIP Sony's japan studio, who among other things co-developed Bloodborne.
Here's to hoping more of the Souls-Like devs out there look at the empty space that is victorian/gothic beasthunter genre and go "It's free real estate".
For a suggestion, there is a game called "Mycelium" that is currently on Steam. It was the group project for some of my friends in college and it is a Soulslike with Mushrooms and it was really fun when I got to playtest it.
These videos are always super cool.
That intro to steam dumpster diving brings me more joy than anything else
For nightmare kart, I appreciate the fact that, while they had to C&D to stop another game from COMPLETELY ripping them off, the NK devs were still allowed to make BASICALLY Bloodborne Kart. Like, they could've gone so much harder on the indie devs than they did. Maybe they're fans of it too?
Atlyss actually seems like it has some really solid design behind it. I enjoy MMOs and even the grindy nature. Really the only thing is I don't care for the art direction, but I'll keep my eye out for it in the future none the less.
I can't believe its been like 8 years when I found Shrek defending his swamp. Love the content dude, it is done well.
My favourite series on this site.
I appreciate you showcasing games I would have never heard of and, with your insight, often turning them into games that I can’t stop talking about.
Cheers and look forward to the next one.
Two hours? We are truly blessed, can't wait to see what is on show today
Finally, this truly is the Dark Souls of UA-cam videos
That first game was the souls-like of the TRY NOT TO CUM category.
(Impossible)
"I was thinking this was going to be a gooner bait game, and maybe there are still some elements of that still." *Staring directly at a dragon girl pressing her chest together while making an embarrassed face* - to be fair, if I'm being honest, I do think that this game has a very charming artstyle and I think it has some neat stuff to it. I think that uhh...maybe the chest...meter is leaning towards the idea that this is appealing to a certain audience, its not like it hasnt been a thing in good games lol.
absolutely perfect timing, just resigned myself to doing the stacked-up dishes and needed something to put on
I don't know what i love more. the fact that this series is still going or that they're getting longer!!!!
The sense of enjoyment I get whenever pineapple posts these videos is like being a kid again & getting a birthday/Christmas gift 😂
Lmao, I watch these videos HOPING that the games are gonna be bad, because if they're good, they're almost never ACTUALLY good enough to justify playing them, and when they're really bad, it's funny, so my jaw dropped when you said Nine Sols was a masterpiece.
For me, my top five Souls-style games are Nioh 2, Bloodborne, Nine Sols, Lies of P and Elden Ring. Nine Sols really earned that spot, it surprised the hell out of me with how good it was. The story was especially compelling and I was interested to see what was going to happen next at every turn.
All of Vaati sections are just "Vaati, it's time for another janky Souls-like game session!" "Yes, Pine."
i love how Pine always gives each game a fair shot, and looks for the good instead of the bad. wish more reviewers were like that.
got very interested about Nine Sols, but will wait for a PS5 port. Thanks for showcasing it, pineapple!
"How does he keep finding these games? How do these videos keep getting longer?!"
- Me, in amazement and excitement upon seeing a new video in this series pop up. Keep up the good work homie!
I would bet my life that that twin boss with the color coded attacks where you have immunity was inspired by the game Outlands, a metroidvania with that being the entire gimmick and the final boss being two twins.
Majora's Mask was the first thing I thought when I saw the loading transition! Good to see you are a man of culture as well.
Your upload schedule is insane. Every time I feel like I miss watching your videos you publish one less than a week later. I love what you do thank you pineapple.
Ah yes, the incredibly obscure unknown sekiro like Nine Sols, that no critics have ever praised and no players have ever heard of... (/s obviously) 🤣
In all seriousness, even though this game isn't unknown I'm really glad to see it getting more coverage, it is AMAZING. The story, the art, the combat, the puzzles, the world is all astounding.
I feel like Enotria is one of those games that put 80% of it's budget into the visuals and level design, and only 20% into the actual gameplay/combat.
Just wants to say, very few souls UA-camrs are covering nine souls, but pretty much every hollow knight UA-camr under the sun has covered it at least once at some point
You really gotta start putting episode numbers to these episodes.
He does in the intro
"Definitely a stretch to call this one a souls-like" he says, immediately after including Home Alone with no such questions.
HE LIVES
I just want you to know that you could put these videos (or just general game reviews, but i like this format) out until the sun exploded and i would watch every single one

My hero uploaded again!
Ok but that first game has such a fire style! And i actually love the designs of characters. The dev is a hella creative person.
Pine saying "This isn't a gooner game is it" got me to look back at the screen for a minute. Not for the reasons you think, but probably for the reason you think.
Pineapple made this entire video so he could play Atlyss without looking suspicious.
This series has become something that I'm always looking forward for. Loving it!
I am starting to become convinced you are paying all of these companies to keep making souls-likes to keep this series alive.
So, are we going to talk about Kiryu being a "Souls" lmao, man would BAKA MITAI his way through it.
Pine, if you have any interest/tolerance for VR, you need to try Ancient Dungeon VR. It has co-op and it`s kind of a dungeon crawling Minecraft meets dark souls with rougelite elements. Also if you somehow haven't played Enter The Gungeon, play that too.
THANK YOU for covering Nine Sols, the game truly is a genuine masterpiece
"is sending me over the edge" poor choice of words 7:50 😂
I hope this series never ends, probably my favorite thing on UA-cam!!
the edditing alone in the intros is always amazing
That first game has big Ragnarok vibes, actually looks like it has a lot of potential.
I always love seeing these dumpster dive videos pop up, so I'd totally be down to watch more of these roundup videos even without the soulslike focus.
i was really hopping to see your take on Wukong, hoping to see it in your next video
I can't believe pineapple is a Poon Novice 😢
Pine, hypothetically if you made videos in a similar format on non souls like games, I would hypothetically still watch the shit out of them.
I never thought when playing the first Dark Souls that this would become a whole-ass genre, let alone such a burgeoning one. Nine Sols looks so good. That boss battle was intense.
For real, I got into dark souls when i was thinking of it as just this obscure but incredibly detailed rpg with cool invasion mechanics. The last 13 years seeing it blow up has been crazy
Holy crap, I never thought I'd see the day when someone like Iron Pineapple would decide to pick up and play Atlyss! Honestly, I only saw like, one other person do it on UA-cam, and even then that was pretty wild... Nevertheless, I have the latest version of the demo on my computer right now and it's a ton of fun! The movement system is super fluid, the attacks (especially the charged attacks and jump attack) are really snappy and make you go SPPPPIIIIIINNNNN a lot, and the art-style just reeks of old school Runescape, WoW, and most PS1 games in every sense of the word. Although, as you can clearly see from the character creation screen it's a little... promiscuous, but other than that, I've played the game like 4 times using each of the classes to do so (I haven't made an imp character yet unfortunately) which are Khalizard the Kubold Mystic, Shreddar the Chang Fighter, Nehvyrmor the Byrdle Ranger, and Glacius the Poon Novice. i hope it comes out soon, i really want to try multiplayer!
