Love that moment when I go to figure stuff out about blender, and unknowingly click on the video of the legend who has been teaching me for the past couple weeks
If anyone has issues with the volumetric lighting being completely white you need to set the Emission Strength on the Principled Volume to 0. Great tutorial!
Great tutorial! I had a problem that the Cell Fracture output was in the shape of a cube when i applied it to the sphere (Blender 4.0). However, the Cell Fracture worked correctly when i reduced the sphere to half its size (from 2m down to 1m).
F@#K! DUDE! The texture mapping part of this video - which isn't why we here - is the best explanation of texture mapping I've found so far! Just post the first 4 mins about texture mapping and what it all means! That alone is worth a million views!!! F-ing brillant!
very well explained, thank you a lot , now the cool thing would be to animate an object that causes the breaking of certain parts of the sphere, maybe a swirling rocket
Node Wrangler Ctrl+Shift+T sets all the textures for you automatically. Also if a Sphere to keep pinching on top to Barley noticeable set the Textures to Cubic,Sphere,Extended and connect the vectors to a mapping and Texture coordinate node. Good tutorial!!
This is awesome!!! What I want to do is learn how it take a destroyed object like in this and then reverse the effect and fix it. Think of it like this You have a magic power like the Time Stone in marvel. You break a rock with a hammer and shatter it. Then you use your power and reform object to what it was like earlier (with maybe some cracks in it but never the less reformed.
This is one of the best tutorial i ever seen ! But I have an issue. When i move from surface to volume in the node of the cube, the cube become very bright an white. Do you know what can I do to fix it ?
Dude I’m a big fan of yours and please i have a recommendation could u upload a tutorial on how to destruct/destroy a Tree in a realistic way for ex: a plane hitting the ground and the tree’s get destroyed i would really appreciate it i just wanna know how to destroy a tree in a realistic way❤️👌👍🏻
Thanks man! I just took a screenshot of your request here and we'll look at doing that for you shortly. I am finishing a new course this week so probably after that
Love this tutorial. I wanted to do something like this for some time. I do have an issue with my texture. Once I apply the cell fracture, the inner textures are stretched or scaled differently and I can't seem to find why.
Hey A Bmann! Glad you liked the tutorial! Can you try applying the scale of the object before doing cell fracture? Also after cell fracture you can select all the objects and hit tab to go into edit mode and unwrap them again. Another thing to try is adding a seam to the sphere and unwrapping it differently. I can help you more if you go to the official site Blendermania3d.com and post in the forums with some screenshots :)
hey man I really dig the video but I have one question, when I do the cube thing, where it encompasses the whole sphere, it just blackens everything out and I can't see the sphere, what am I doing wrong?
Hello. When i add to Cube - Material - Surface - Princ. Volume, it looks like when i had no Cube at all, no lights outside the sphere. And when i match it to Volume, there is little squared light under the Sphere only. What settings could be wrong? Or maybe problem with pc and program. Thank you
when i do this, after changing the node connection from Principled Volume (Volume) -> Material Output (Volume), it initially goes the way yours does until I change the Color Attribute density to 0.1, which whites out the entire screen. Changing the color does nothing either. what did i do wrong?
Thank you so much for this vid, been having way too much fun with the splosions :) If I wanted to keep the shell slightly separated (like frame 3 or 4 of the animation) as a still object, while the rest of the scene animates (orbiting lights within the shell) - what would you recommend? Could I keyframe it to be passive from that frame onwards? What could compliment the forcefield so that the shell would kind of vibrate between two gravitational pulls? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Cheers man :)
I came to the comments to find this exact question. I seemed to have figured it out with just that, another force field. First force field was key framed in strength from 0 - 50 for the first 70 frames. Then the second force field comes in at frame 70 with a strength of -50 to bring the cells back in. Play around with these settings though if anyone is looking to do this too!
Hi, I am making the switch from Lightwave 3D to Blender (Please don't laugh!). I just had one question. Right now my animation is stopping at frame 240. Is it possible to get the force to animate past this point?
Hello! Thank you very much for that tutorial because it is very clear. Nevertheless, I would like to try to make an egg explode for the game I am making, so it's like a very thin sphere because of the hole inside of it (I used boolean, maybe that wasn't a good idea?) . The problem is, it blows up instantly and is too strong even when I put the strenght of the forcefield to 0.001. Do you think there is a solution to that? Thanks in advance! 😄
Hi i have a question to this addon can i make this Explosion with keyframes? I mean My planet should Explosion later ( in Frame 150 for example) is it possible? I Hope you can help me i have search in the Internet and i found nothing
Yeah so everything is colliding when i press play. I am using like a logo svg that i extruded so I am assuming its caused by some weird vertices. I really just want to make everything no collide if thats possible
If you enabled physics and rigid body, they will move. Also when you do cell fracture there is still the original mesh there and if that has rigid body on it, they will shoot out so make sure to delete that. If you still have issues if you want to upload your file on blendermania3d.com I can take a look at it
help i need a realy QUICK fix! as soon as i start play every piece is getting smashed into universe... the whole objects/all parts arent falling down - they just get pushed away from each other - friction also on 1
I adapted along the way, and as I added a texture displacement (rock like) on my sphere before to make the cell fracture, the explosion happens now super fast no matter the force in the forcefield .. I guess cause the chunks are hitting each other. Anyway to suppress that?
Cell Fracture really deserves a proper development, great feature that is sadly pretty limited.
True!

Hello! Would it be possible to only explode part of an object using this? as if only part of the ... moon... got hit?
Absolutely. On the parts that you don't want to be affected, on the rigid body physics just turn off "Dynamic"
Super cool, dude! Thanks.

Why does my sphere get converted into cube once I add cell fracture?? Help!!!
and the universe was born this way - blender is the answer xD
thanks
Hi, my Blender doesn´t let me click on the "add active" option in the rigid body menu. What to do?
What does it let you do?
Make sure you have the object selected
you can always add a rigidbody to a single object and then press "objects" in top left, go down to rigidbody and then press "copy from active"
Hi, you cannot select the entire object at once. You must first select a piece of the sphere, then use B to select the rest.
thank you
Very very cool.
Glad you enjoyed it Sang!
Thank bro🔥🔥🔥
The cube bit didn’t work for me, it just made everything white
