- Hello everyone! In this Blender tutorial we will be learning how to create an animation of an object breaking apart without the cracks appearing. We use a similar technique to the last tutorial with some small changes.

Excellent tutorial and managed to recreate it, thank you 👍🏻 , still didn't understand the logic of why stretch the mesh in the UV isntead of shrink it. It works but I do not know the theory/reason of why.

Thanks bro... I was searching for video that dealt with streched textures inside..... But can we use different textures inside the ball on the basis of distance from origin. I basically want to make earth 🌎 with its layers inside.
i personally go with the fracture branch, it seems to work better

I have a problem, the "Cell Fracture" does not appear on add-ons. I'm using version 2.8 beta.

I have tried to make a pendulum with the sphere that has the cell fracture applied sing into a wall and smash. But when I hit play the sphere just falls down. Any chance of some help with this problem please?

What if I want it to fracture without falling? You see, my object is a bottle and its a collectible. If you throw it it shatters, but it wouldnt always fall in the same way.
When I animate it instead of shattering on impact, it shatters at the 1st frame. how do I solve it ??
I'm using the add-on from 2.93 and the results are strange. They do not "percolate" the object, but create islands. And they don't follow the pencil.
I know this is an old thread, but I found that if the object is small it won't cut right and leaves "islands" or large gaps in between the pieces or some pieces are left a literally a single vertex. Using Blender 3.4

Add one more think reverse the step of hiding i mean hide the cell frature sphere until it contact the ground at the movement of contact hide the se sphere just like. Tutorial and unhide the cell fracture sphere
i did everything right but when i apply my texture the texture is applied to every single cell individually :/ any help?

Is there some baking that is required when it's time to execute "Render Animation"? Because it looked perfect in my 3d view last night but in the overnight render, nothing but my surface showed up in the frames. / Update: Baking the rigid-body physics to keyframes solved the problem.

Careful not to be in Edit Mode when you start the render.

The sphere shatters immediately. Explosion. It doesn't fall down.
Make sure to set the rigid body type to mesh if you don't want that

Everything is visible beyond the glass. Thats the problem! And you mean set the keyframe visibility for every pieces? Theres 400 pieces! I think no one gonna do this!
You can animate the material and it will work for every object. Or you can do the exact opposite for pieces as the original UV sphere. Animate them appearing right when the UV sphere disappears. To have that apply to every object select all the pieces Ctrl+L > Animation Data. That should work just fine!
