I found it somewhat insulting when he said that “this genre usually doesn’t have vocals like this.” I had to remind myself that these days most people aren’t exposed to much heavy metal. The reality is that metal is built around high soaring vocals. To sing heavy metal you are almost required to be a baritone with a pretty outrageous range. It reminds me of opera. If you are a beginner I would recommend Dio, Judas Priest, Saxon and deep purple. All of these bands have legendary vocalists.
Like to add in a more recent and female vocalist Brittany(Slayes) Hayes from Unleash the Archers who sings in a similar range and music style just more modern sound
We don't know if this person is guilty or innocent, or what time in history! But contemplating his life, knowing his death is coming, the five final stages of grief run through this man. Denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance ... *Masterful lyrics!* 😁🤘
Rime Of The Ancient Mariner from this same show. If you like poetry, you'll love it. If you know nothing about poetry, such as myself, you'll love it even more!! 😁😁
I love your reactions (especially Hi Ren) but you missed the signature part of this song that everyone reacts to. And that's the Running Low note he carries for an ungodly amount of time in the beginning.
Iron Maiden LOVES to use Historical, Literary and Pop-Culture references in their lyrics. It's a huge part of their success, because the songs are relatable. They're not big on abstraction and leaving things to interpretation. You can take everything at face value, even if there are nuances to it.
Bruce has a long list of accomplishments, Singer/Song Writer, Professional Pilot ,Collegiate Professor of History, Collegiate Fencer, and so on..... Try Number Of The Beast, Trooper, or Run To The Hills.
Sir - as a reasonable educated man - you are going to love Iron Maiden. The primary lyricist is the Bass Player, Steve Harris, who is a voracious reader of great literature. Hence you will find Murders in the Rue Morgue, Flight of Icarus, Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Trooper (charge of the light brigade), Alexander the Great, and many more volumes in their songs. Dig in. Enjoy.
Glad you enjoyed the tune and welcome to the wonderful world of Maiden. Just saw the lads in concert for the 50th time in Toronto this past weekend. Still incredible all these decades later.
I totally agree with u mr stotts ive not known of many metal singers that couldn't sing with major powerful voices ..... most have been classically trained , i love metal music there is something for everyone out there 🤘🏼🖤🤘🏼🐈⬛
Iron maiden classic heavy metal when i was 14 yrs had all posters of Eddie only loyal fans know this. 57 yrs old still love this sound adrenlin on love the somewhere im time classic
IRON MAIDEN THE BEST GROUP OF HEAVY METAL REACTING TO SONGS 'FEAR OF THE DARK LIVE IN CHILE, DANCE OF DEATH LIVE IN CHILE, THE TROOPER LIVE IN CHILE, THE RIME OF THE ANCIENT MARINER LIVE FLIGHT 666,ACES HIGH LIVE FLIGHT 666'🎸🤘🎵👻🇪🇦
Sir, you just heard one of the greatest metal songs of all time. And one of the greatest metal singers of all time. Once you start learning about mister Bruce Dickinson, you will be thorougly fascinated. This is a man of MANY talents, not just musical ones. If you want to see and hear what this band can really do, react to ''Rime of the ancient mariner'' Live performance. You will become a fan. trust me on this. Edit: oh nevermind. I see you already did that one, and this one also, 3 years ago.
Fear of the dark would be a good listen also should go back to early days Iron maiden and listen to Paul di'anno as a vocalist considering he died recently
Bruce as a good majority of Metal singers both Male and Female alike are classically trained to some degree there only a few that are self taught that have vocals like this. Almost all of Metal has these kind of vocals. I know you’re still know to metal yourself but trust me. Metal as a genre was built around the singers vocals, all great or even good metal bands have great vocalists.
I was 16 when i discovered Iron Maiden and it was this song that opened all the doors. At that time it was already 8 years old, so i felt to be very late to the party...... 34 years have passed since and sometimes it still feels like it was yesterday! And still they rock the biggest stages and everyone gets crazy when this song comes up.... Wild! Thanks man
Love Iron Maiden!! I saw them back in 1985 and again in 1987! They were Awesome and they have great stages with Eddie(their mascot) and I went to a lot of concerts back then( A Lot of Rock/Metal )and they were by far the loudest!!
Bruce was under a LOT of pressure, he was stepping up to fill some REALLY big shoes (they'd just fired their previous singer, who was also incredible). The first 2 Iron Maiden albums are very different and many consider them their best work. 🤘🧙♂🤘
Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Children of the Damned, Fear of the Dark, Alexander the Great....too freaking many to recommend!!! Just react to the entire back catalogue...even with Paul Di'Anno (RIP) and Blaze Bayley vocals!
Maiden often do historical songs, so there's a chance he's a prisoner of war or something like that. Many times enemy leaders were killed, and killed ugly, for the crime of fighting back. But who knows lol
This song is a cool introduction to the great "Musical Book" Maiden's granted us Through the years. I Think many songs from the Powerslave/ Somewhere in Time eras might delight you. Maybe Flight of Icarus/ aces High for exemples on Powerslave, or Alexander the Great, as you Can guess relates the life of Alexander, wasted years IS another classic one 🙏🤘👍👍
Hello good sir!! I have a song from Iron Maiden that I think you would enjoy. It continues to showcase their masterful musicianship, but it also shows their longevity and ability to perform the same now as they did in the 80’s. “Fear of the Dark” from their Live in Chile concert in 2011. Have a good day!!
Ok.... knowing that Iron Maiden usually sing about historical events and the song is Hallowed be thy name, then in my imagination it stands to reason this is probably a couple of hundred years ago not modern times.... Gallow is also a hint.... death row not likely, probably sentence to hang that day or very recently and if it was that long ago then he could be innocent or accused of something minor as they liked to end the life of people rather than put them in prison....
Spoilt for choice with Maiden. . Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner would be a good choice after that one , but you really cant go wrong with anything you pick of there's 👍✌️
Amazing song and great reaction! Please, please Mrlboyd, check out some more metal. Specifically, I would love to see your reaction to Bloodywood, "Nu Delhi."
There are 3 kings of metal Metallica, Iron Maiden & Megadeth. People quible about the who is number 3 Megadeth (i suggest Peace Sells or Holy Wars or Symphony of Destruction from them) or Black Sabath. But the argument between 1 & 2 is always between Metallica & Iron maiden the rest are fighting for spots further down the line.
I’ve seen both in the 80’s and both in the last 5 years. I can say without a doubt maiden has held up better, it’s no contest vocals wise. To me, the 80’s Metallica was unstoppable. Fast forward to today, Maiden’s a far more well rounded and better, no doubt. Metallica live today is ehh.
MRLBOYD,, YOU'LL ENJOY 👍 GOT ABSOLUTE 🔥 4 YA........🤟 I KNOW YOU LIKE GREAT PERFORMANCES AND GOOD SOUND , THAT BEING SAID; Spiritbox "Circle With me" Ft, Tatiana Of JinJer. --------++--------- LIVE AT "LOUDER THAN LIFE" FESTIVAL '24 --------++--------- Spiritbox Official Video STRAIGHT FIRE 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Bro, do not cut the song short… They have a song Paschendale which starts with the reciting of a poem and cannons, it is a mind blowing performance: ua-cam.com/video/Pc_jXFYXmNc/v-deo.htmlsi=cYhbG3c4vKyIngkj
A number of mistakes were made during this reaction. 1. Don't have your cell phone or other distractions. 2. Don't stop the video in the middle of an amazing vocal or instrumental solo unless you plan to back up and play it again. 3. Don't cut the song off early. 4. Don't take lyrics all literally. 5. This is the greatest live metal performance of all time. Saying that it is "masterful" is okay, but then explain why you feel that way. If you want a bigger following, please consider my advice. I have analyzed hundreds of reaction videos.
I dig your channels but you've already reacted to this a couple years ago at least. Maybe this isn't a first reaction channel or maybe you just spaced it out
Bruce Dickinson here was a successfully, professionally trained opera singer before he switcherooed over into 'heavy metal' in '81, replacing lead vocalist of Iron Maiden.
With much respect... but you are wrong about metal vocalists... Bruce is impressive... and you still need to hear "Dio"... "Geoff Tate"... "Kai Hansen and Michael Kiske"... and of course "Rob Halford"... and many more.... 😡
I do disagree Sir! Death penalty has too many problems! Yes, an action forces reaction! But what happened before the action? Nobody is born a criminal! The taking of a life is one of the worst things done, so we shan't seek revenge and commit the same sin!
I found it somewhat insulting when he said that “this genre usually doesn’t have vocals like this.” I had to remind myself that these days most people aren’t exposed to much heavy metal. Add in Sebastian Bach, Geoff Tate...
Add King Diamond, Andre Matos, Michael Kiske…
Like to add in a more recent and female vocalist Brittany(Slayes) Hayes from Unleash the Archers who sings in a similar range and music style just more modern sound
Maybe he needs to listen to One and a Million by Guns and Roses 😮
Stu Block, Matt Barlow, Tarja, Floor Jansen, Maynard (if you wanna lump him in with "metal", Devin Townsend and on and on and on
Vocals like this are quite common in Metal. Listen to Dio, Judas Priest, Queensrhyche.
We don't know if this person is guilty or innocent, or what time in history! But contemplating his life, knowing his death is coming, the five final stages of grief run through this man. Denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance ... *Masterful lyrics!* 😁🤘
Preach!!!🏆
I have never had a doubt this was written by an innocent man.
"Though the end is near I'm not sorry."
Yes ! 🔥. Bruce is also their pilot. An Iron Maiden jumbo jet.
You would enjoy "The Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner." Yeah, its based off the peom.
Agreed on the Rhyme. That was my pick for the next Maiden song you should check out
Rime Of The Ancient Mariner from this same show. If you like poetry, you'll love it. If you know nothing about poetry, such as myself, you'll love it even more!! 😁😁
He's done mariner a few years ago
Rime of the ancient mariner was not even released when this show was done.
Thais show is in 1982, Rime was released in 1984
He didn't even let the song finish!
“UP THE IRONS”
🤘🏼😎🤘🏼

Very iconic band. Unique sound. You can always tell a Maiden song.
One of the best songs
Iron Maiden - Dance of death
Banger song and as always, banger review.
Sir - as a reasonable educated man - you are going to love Iron Maiden. The primary lyricist is the Bass Player, Steve Harris, who is a voracious reader of great literature. I'm so glad you enjoyed it.
Glad you are enjoy good music
Rob Halford is another great singer. Legendary. Try Judas Priest song Victim Of Changes live from US fest 1983. Be ready as this is a banger.
Iron Maiden Sir is the embodiment of heavy metal classic rock!
I totally agree with u mr stotts ive not known of many metal singers that couldn't sing with major powerful voices ..... most have been classically trained , i love metal music there is something for everyone out there 🤘🏼🖤🤘🏼🐈⬛

For some of Maiden's deepest lyrical content, I would suggest Infinite Dreams.
Infinity is hard to comprehend ;)
@@Ihmrat Where would you end, in heaven or in hell?

check out more iron maiden like run to the hills, the wicker man, wasted years, fear of the dark, number of the beast etc
He already did Run to the Hills, you should check it out.
Powerslave, aces high, rhyme of the ancient mariner, pachendale, blood brothers, revelations, the list is endless, best band of all time
This entire album is a masterpiece
Fear of the dark would be a good listen also should go back to early days Iron maiden and listen to Paul di'anno as a vocalist considering he died recently

Not true . Bruce had no training. He is pure talent.

Simply must do 'Rime of the Ancient Mariner' next.
You will love it!
I’ve been to 8 festivals, 15+ big concerts in the last decade and absolutely nothing made me feel like this song did when I saw it live
Infinite Dreams is a great song.
Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Children of the Damned, Fear of the Dark, Alexander the Great....too freaking many to recommend!!! Just react to the entire back catalogue...even with Paul Di'Anno (RIP) and Blaze Bayley vocals!
Lol the little stank face coming out was awesome. Inevitable when listening to maiden lol.
Maiden often do historical songs, so there's a chance he's a prisoner of war or something like that. Many times enemy leaders were killed, and killed ugly, for the crime of fighting back.
But who knows lol
If you haven't already, you need to hear The Trooper. That is one of Iron Maiden's best.
This song is a cool introduction to the great "Musical Book" Maiden's granted us Through the years. I Think many songs from the Powerslave/ Somewhere in Time eras might delight you. Yes you have 50 years of musik to listen to.

Head banger music.

Hello good sir!! I have a song from Iron Maiden that I think you would enjoy. Classic
I'd love to see you react to Notorious B1 - Big Daddy. Turns out Diddy ''took inspiration'' for Biggies - Juicy from it, it's WILD
Check out At The Gallows End by Candlemass for another condemned man song - fantastic vocals and killer riffs
Ok.... knowing that Iron Maiden usually sing about historical events and the song is Hallowed be thy name, then in my imagination it stands to reason this is probably a couple of hundred years ago not modern times.... I think this was a political prisoner anglicans vs catholics or scots, whales & irish against enlish or something like that.
Spoilt for choice with Maiden. . Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner would be a good choice after that one , but you really cant go wrong with anything you pick of there's 👍✌️
Bro, you've been doing reaction vids for like 200 years. How have you never heard this song?
🤣
Nothing better than watching people who aren’t prepared for a proper face melter 😂
You could see a little stank face trying to pop out of him lol. So good lol😂
The god line is a great lyric if there is a god why has he let me go
You stopped before a triumphant ending.
FK ya! Love this band. I've been a fan since 1981 ish. twas a long time ago.

Just keep doing the live performances. The studio versions just don’t show off how well the band performs together.

Bruce has never been trained in Opera singing, he’s self taught. It’s amazing the amount of people that think that..
