I hate to be that guy, but they are doing something the brothers didn't support in calling themselves "Pantera" while not being the original members. IIRC, Dime said they would never continue without Phil during his troubles and, after Dime died, Vinnie said it would not be right to continue. I'm a fan and refused to go to the concert over this. I had heard this song on the radio when it first came out. Not long after, I bought the cassette. (Yeah, they go back that far). I put it in the deck and let it play as I rode around. Interestingly, the first notes of this song started playing as I drove into the cemetery to visit the grave of a friend for the first time. I could not have timed it that perfectly if I had tried.
Phil Anselmo is the singer, Cemetary gates lyrics were written by him after his girlfriend/fiance died tragically, it is a song about grief and the inability to deal with it. He felt like part of him died with her and his bottled up grief made him angry, bitter, and lost. He wrote "when she died I couldn't cry" then later it changes to "And when she died I should have cried and spared myself some pain". Dime is the guitar player who was killed on stage. Vinnie his brother was the drummer who also played iin Damage plan with Dime, Vinnie died of an apparent heart attack. Vinnie was last in the supergroup Hellyeah. Rex Brown is the bass player who's groove and rythm paired with Dime's amazing guitar skills gave Pantera a very unique sound. They were the best ever imo. If you're interested I'd recommend Hellyeah's Sangre por Sangre (Blood for Blood) as one of my favorite Vinnie Paul songs post Pantera. Great reaction brother!

Hey Krizz thanks for your story about sharing the same stage that Dimebag Darrell was murdered on, no doubt you felt his presence there, what a trip. Since you're familiar with the club you might appreciate this, there's a show called Shattered that looks at crimes from different perspectives, they do an episode on this and you get to hear from the club owner, and the cop who killed the dude with the gun (it basically destroyed him.😢) Pantera still tours, some of the old fans don't like it but a lot of them do, and now they use legendary guitarists and drummers to fill the void, Zakk Wylde is a guitarist you might want to get to know cuz he does an amazing job filling in for his friend, and finally you might like to know that Dimebag and Eddie Van Halen were good friends as well and Eddie Van Halen's legendary guitar is buried with him🕊🖤🤘
Great reaction. I've seen videos of Dimebag Daryl, and he was so nice to his fans. He made them feel like what they had to say was important, and put his hand out first and thanked them.

I was lucky enough to see them three times in the Atlanta area. Once at the Fox theater, once the international ballroom, and once at the Roxy theater in Buckhead. Put on excellent shows.
I was gonna set you straight on all of the things you were mistaken on, but looks like every other comment already did that LoL! I had the pleasure and privilege to hang out with Dime and Vinnie on numerous occasions before they were famous. Pantera and my crappy "Big 4" cover band played at the same club in the late 80s (The Basement). The last show I got to see them perform was at a small metal club near Fort Hood where I was serving in the Army after I quit my band. They were promoting their Cowboys From Hell album. At that club, they had a drink called a "suicide shot" where you sit in a reclined dentist's chair while the bartender dumps 4 different liquors down your throat. When I ordered one, Dime helped administer the booze. The last time I saw Dime and Vinnie was in 1997 when they threw me a bachelor party at Vinnie's Clubhouse (A BYOB all-nude club he owned in Arlington). Best party EVAARRR!!! I wish I could have seen them again after that, but it is what it is. Somehow, I never got to know Rex or Phil at all. I never even really met them, or said "hi". After the club gigs where they'd get drinks at the bar, Dime and Vinnie would go one way, and Rex and Phil would go another. Since I consider myself primarily a guitarist (I also play bass and drums), I would always hang out with Dime. Both Dime and Vinnie were very humble, easy to get along with, and crazy as hell too ... Which also made them a helluva lot of fun!

The guy who shot Dime also shot others in the venue. He said the band was reading his mind and stealing their songs from his head. This was a documentary I watched years ago, which also had some footage of the cop with a shotgun taking out the shooter. The Abbots father was a country musician and the band originally started as a hair meatal band. They would have been included in the big 4 Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, and Slayer, but they called themselves groove metal instead of thrash. Im old (56) this is from memory and being alive at the time and not google.
Phil Anselmo is the vocalist. Dimebag is the guitarist. Vinnie Paul is the drummer, and was Dime’s brother and he was not violently killed. Only Dimebag. Edit: Shoutout to Rex “Rocker” *BROWN* Apparently you have to add the last name at all times or you’ll have some little chump come in and get hostile with you
rex BROWN, you saying rex rocker just sounds like an old boomer who doesnt know his name and because this is metal/rock, you said "rocker" "he's a rocker!"

Phil Anselmo was the lead singer. He quit the band first and started the band "Down" and Dimebag and Vinnie started the band "Damage Plan." There's a song on that album that I would like you to react to. I'll find it and post it in the comments. Keep doing what you're doing and stay blessed my brother!
Dimebag was the lead guitar player, and was murdered on stage. His brother, Vinnie Paul went on to help found the band hell yeah, and passed from heart problems, years later
Damage plan was the other band Dimebag and Vinnie were in. Phil and I think Rex were in multiple bands. Snakeriver conspiracy, Down, and another I forgot
Pantera is metal royalty. I saw them right after Reinventing the Steel came out. It was the closest Ive ever gotten to the mosh pit. If my old man hadn't been there, I would have been a goner. It was sooooo worth it to get that close to Dimebag. He is easily one of the best guitarists to ever walk the earth. Reading the comments, the first was a dig, and I hate that. You want to share your favorite music with others and be salty about getting something wrong about the band in a genre they are learning about. Now, if I got Dime and Phil confused, my old man wouldn't let me come back in the house, and I wouldn't ask. JK.😂 It would definitely be a sin in my household though.
Dime is killin' the guitar and Phil is singing , but that's ok. Thanks for the reaction. Dime's brother Vinny , legendary drummer. R.I.P. Abbot brothers.
The drummer and guitarist had a band called damage plan when someone came on stage and shot the guitarist in the face then shot some other people before he was shot by police i think. Also the singer was in a band called superjoint ritual
you are really close but the lead singer is Phillip Anselmo, Dimebag and his brother Vinnie are both passed only Phil and Rex Brown are left. dime and Vinnie are the guitarist and drummer respectively. I can say I was lucky enough to see them live 5 times before they broke up and then Dimebag was shot on stage while performing in Damage Plan Vinne survived and just passed away somewhat recently
Sadly, you have just reacted to the radio edit version of this song; there's an entire soft intro to this song that is beautiful. I know its too late to react to that version, but please, on your own, check out the full studio song to fully appreciate this classic.
Dimebag Darrell's the lead guitarist for Pantera. He was not killed on stage he was killed outside of a club buy a fan thinking that Pantera was breaking up because he's formed another band with his brother called damaged plan

Dimebag Darrell Abbott is the guitar player. His brother Vin is the drummer. Philip Anselmo sings.
Didn't notice if anyone else already commented on this but the side bands name was Damageplan.
Dime was an incredible guitarist.
RIP Dime and Vinnie.
Ok everyone calm down he didn't know 😂 Great reaction Kriz
The guy who shot Dime also shot others in the venue. He said the band was reading his mind and stealing their songs from his head. This was a documentary I watched years ago, which also had some footage of the cop with a shotgun taking out the shooter. The Abbots father was a country musician and the band originally started as a hair meatal band. They would have been included in the big 4 Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, and Slayer, but they called themselves groove metal instead of thrash. Im old (56) this is from memory and being alive at the time and not google.
Huge PANTERA fan homie phill his name is yol the siicckkk singer .was in the choir at high school .turned to usa metal❤😋🎶🤙🖕👌🌍♠️💯🤘
Phil Anselmo is the vocalist. Dimebag is the guitarist. Vinnie Paul is the drummer, and was Dime’s brother and he was not violently killed. Only Dimebag.
Edit:
Shoutout to Rex “Rocker” *BROWN*
Apparently you have to add the last name at all times or you’ll have some little chump come in and get hostile with you
rex BROWN, you saying rex rocker just sounds like an old boomer who doesnt know his name and because this is metal/rock, you said "rocker" "he's a rocker!"
@@thedominator87 Hey… Idiot. If you knew ANYTHING you’d know that that was his nickname. Maybe don’t assume you can correct someone when YOU don’t know what you’re talking about.
@@thedominator87 Maybe because that’s his NICKNAME. Next you’ll be correcting people that Dime’s name isn’tDime, it’s DARRELL. I might sound like a “boomer” but you sound like a Karen
@@thedominator87 Yeah, it’s called a NICKNAME Karen.
@@thedominator87 Yeah, it’s called a NICKNAME. Edit: apparently I can’t say what I want to say without my comment being deleted
RIP Darrell and Vinnie Paul 🙏🏼🙏🏼🕊️🕊️
You should listen to the album's original cut of the song. The original instrumental lead in to the vocals is crazy
Man oh man do we miss those Abbott boys, the world, MY world was better with them in it. Dimebag is the GOAT.

My daughter walked me down the aisle to this when I got married
I’ve cried on the construction sites I was working on twice. The deaths of Layne Staley, and Dimebag. The band was called Damageplan.
Also ya should check out the songs "walk" and "cowboys from hell". Such epic hits from these guys!!
I found it more authentic that you got the names confused. Im happy about that.
Dime bag Darryl was not the singer, he was the guitarist. I'm from Columbus Ohio where it happened, been to the Alrosa Villa.
Can't believe you've never heard Pantera, Krizz 😭 thought you were more cultured than that my friend.
Dimebag was the lead guitar player, and was murdered on stage. His brother, Vinnie Paul went on to help found the band hell yeah, and passed from heart problems, years later
Stuck mojo bro rap metal old skool ♠️🌍💯❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥🤘🤘🤘🎶
The unaware disrespect of the late and forever great Dimebag
Damage plan was the other band Dimebag and Vinnie were in. Phil and I think Rex were in multiple bands. Snakeriver conspiracy, Down, and another I forgot
Legendary! Listen to Walk next.
There is a (UA-cam) documentary on the Pantera story.
...with actual footage.
Shredding skin 🤘🤘🤘♠️🎶🔥
"Domination" Live in Moscow, please!
Do creeping death in Moscow as well as Pantera's performance of Domination in Moscow
Love this album...I had to sell my dimebag Dean guitar when made redundant in 2020 broke my heart
Dime is killin' the guitar and Phil is singing , but that's ok. Thanks for the reaction. Dime's brother Vinny , legendary drummer. R.I.P. Abbot brothers.
Drummer Vinnie & Guitarist Dime are brothers. R.I.P.
The Alrosa Villa is no longer around. It got taken down a few years.
Today I learned that I still cry when I hear about Dime dying.
The drummer and guitarist had a band called damage plan when someone came on stage and shot the guitarist in the face then shot some other people before he was shot by police i think. Also the singer was in a band called superjoint ritual
Hey man just checking them out is cool, im sure you know now whos who, but all good bro. They really were the best
Dime was killed and his brother Vinnie died much later. This was a song 14 years before Dime died. R.I.P Abbott Bros!
you are really close but the lead singer is Phillip Anselmo, Dimebag and his brother Vinnie are both passed only Phil and Rex Brown are left. dime and Vinnie are the guitarist and drummer respectively.
Whoop Whoop from Detroit
You said you bet their concerts were crazy... check out "Walk"
Guitarist is Dime.
The singer is Phil Anselmo
Please react to Pantera live in Moscow domination to make up for this, please
Dimebag Darrell's the lead guitarist for Pantera. He was not killed on stage he was killed outside of a club buy a fan thinking that Pantera was breaking up because he's formed another band with his brother called damaged plan
Straight beautiful metal❤ bro 🤙👌🖕💯💎🌍 new Zealand here we love metal here...❤🤙♠️🎶🌍
