    I am in the process right now that was happening to you years ago before you lost your voice completely. The last few years my voice has started to easily lose its strength after a long day or few days of talking and having some drinks and fun. Now my voice is taking much more time and rest to come back but it’s not coming back 100% anymore. About 2 months ago I started to become more concerned and started to jump into research and give it my best attempt to figure out what is going on. I learned about GERD and how it could affect voice loss. I did more research and at this point I know for certain I do have some acid reflux Gerd issues and that is a contributing factor. I did go to two ENTs in the past two weeks that told me it does look like there is some acid reflux issues from what they could see from my vocal cords. About a month ago I started learning about apple cider vinegar and how it could help with digestion, good stomach bacteria and ultimately “cure” acid reflux/Gerd. Well after about a week and a half of trying the apple cider vinegar drink that I was making every morning it was actually making me worse. Even more bloated, digestion seemed worse, extremely gassy. At that point I knew that isn’t going to work for me and my body. I have decided I will not use any H2 Blockers, Omeperzol or any of the medicines these drug companies have peddled for years and years making matters worse for their patients. So right now I am stuck. Still trying to figure out my underlying causes and issues and the right plan of attack for everything. Two days ago I went to a second ENT and he did confirm that my vocal cords have calluses on them and are not smooth, almost jagged in certain areas. He diagnosed me with Chronic Ulcerative Laryngitis. At this point I am getting fearful because I am a professional voice user but I am not going to give up. I will find all of the underlying causes and try to rectify them the best way I can. I have always understood that everyone’s bodies are different and you have to find what works best for you specifically. Thank you for your videos and sharing your story.

    I started getting acid reflux in my teenage years. That's also when I started getting ovulation pain and the pain of menstrual cramps really started to increase. Don't know if they are related at all or if it was just a time coincidence. But, it wasn't that severe most of the time, I had basically 4 phases of my reflux in decreasing frequency:
    1) Asymptomatic phase, the most frequent phase, I didn't feel anything out of the ordinary
    2) Gas phase, I'd be burping more, but otherwise feeling okay
    3) Nausea phase, I'd start not feeling so good, and for some reason, this nausea of acid reflux did the opposite thing that say viral gastroenteritis would do. Most causes of nausea, I'd lose my thirst so as to not throw up so much. Acid reflux increased my thirst, and if I drank water when I was in the nausea phase, it would bring me into the next phase
    4) Vomiting phase, I'd be throwing up dilute acid + whatever else was in my stomach, with or without my finger triggering the gag reflex.
    I think that craving of water when the nausea came on was helpful in a way, cause I would be minimizing the effect of the acid on my esophagus. After a few years, the amount of time I would be going into the nausea phase decreased, followed by the gas phase also decreasing. Then, when I had severe intestinal pain many years later, I decided "You know what? Let me just fast for a week and let my intestines heal from whatever's causing this pain." And every couple of days, I would be drinking a big glass of saltwater to avoid hyponatremia and it's disastrous effects. Like a tablespoon of salt to about 2 cups of water kind of ratio. And it was iodized salt in case that's important at all.
    But, I had this severe keto flu that went on for days. And a few days into the fast, I started getting like serious heartburn, as though all the water I was drinking was not diluting my stomach acid at all. I mean, before, when I was eating, that kind of water intake would dilute my acid to the point that I just feel liquid coming out, I don't feel even a bit of heartburn. This fasting heartburn was something serious. And, my intestines healed up and I think it also helped with my acid reflux issue. Now, I don't get the burps followed by nausea and water craving, I just don't. One thing I have noticed though, back when I had issues with acid reflux, the burps I'd get just from normal swallowing of air and such and the burps I'd get when I felt nauseous due to acid reflux are completely different.
    The normal burps would just come up without feeling forced upwards. The nauseous burps on the other hand had quite a bit of force behind them and that force alone would sometimes cause me to have a sore throat, even if acid wasn't getting up there and causing heartburn.

    Also to mention about hiatal hernias, many people have them and have no idea, as most are asymptomatic. And even people who have symptomatic ones, most are sliding hiatal hernias (95%), meaning they dont stay up all the time. Its the people who have a larger hiatal hernias or paraesophageal (stays in one position, which is about 1% of people) that need to have them medically repaired. Otherwise chiropractors are great, I see mine usually once every 6 months to a year, and sometimes even longer, it depends on if im starting to get reflux

    • @KickItNaturally
      @KickItNaturally  2 роки тому +3

      Yes, excellent point. We teach about hiatel hernias in our free digestion course for those who have reflux. Important to understand them if a person is having a hard time correcting their reflux.

    Some times while I am sleeping in the middle of the night, I get a burning painful
    flush in my chest, I suppose it is coming from my stomach.
    I get a relief by taking deep breaths. I get this usually from the most supplements and hot spices. My doctor said that this is acid reflex. Of course i stop taking whatever I suspect and it is over. This makes me think that these supplements and spices deplete my HCL.
