      Great video! Love the humor. I got very Very upset at something my granddaughter had done. I yelled and may have even screamed about it. (Not to my granddaughter) The next day in church, I couldn't sing. When I didn't get my voice back in 3 weeks, an ENT doctor diagnosed spasmodic/muscle tension dysphonia in my vocal cords. He sent me to a voice therapist who issued me exercises. One of my vocal cords was closing a little too slowly. Also, I have essential tremor. It's been 10 weeks now, and my voice is coming back a little more, day by day.

      I done the psycho research thing 8- 10 hours a day after going to Urgent Care a year ago and being told it was allergy, then going to ENT being told it WAS GERD and prescribed Nexium - which doesn't touch LPR - IF that's even what this is. Lotta belching and nausea, postnasal drip, stomach aches, burping, lump in throat and hard to speak with a muffler over voice etc.. You name it I've tried it. Low acid diet, Carnivore diet, Antiacids, ACV & HCL, honey, turmeric,& pepper on & on...

    I also lost my voice, but for 2 years, with no luck from doctors, it was frustrating. single dad couldn't make appointments and had to text people I was with. I researched it myself for months and found it. I had polyps on my vocal chords. to this day I don't know the cause so I still listen to people's successes stories.

    I read your book - Kick Fat in the Nuts and your story really resonated with me. I spent 4 years seeing countless doctors, consultants, hospital apps - x rays, physio, lots of prodding and poking to try and find out why I was in chronic pain from head to toe, my spine was twisted, my hand and fingers so swollen I sometimes couldn't touch anything... the list goes on.
    Once I realised the doctors were at a loss I took matters into my own hands and spent all my spare time researching every conceivable cause. I came across a small article about a woman who resolved similar issues through changes to her diet and it was a life changer for me. It took a further 12 months or so to figure it all out and learn to live with the food intolerances I discovered I had but there's been no looking back. I am now in control of my life and health. The downside is that I too have turned into a nutrition and digestive research fanatic (haha!), but am loving every new thing I learn.
    We started in a different place but have similar stories, similar outcomes and the same awe and appreciation for the amazing work our bodies do. Thanks for sharing your story and for continuing to share free content... you are making a vast difference to many, many people 😀

    I have had a painful voice for 3 years with no cure. It started when I had a short cold in Dec 2020. My voice actually sounds pretty good now but there is pain and a feeling of swelling in the lower throat near the bottom of the throat when I speak. Its worse during the spring durint allergies and somewhat better in the humid summer. Aside from some positive allergy tests, I haven't found any other confirmations. I did the following:
    - laryngoscopy - no vocal injury
    - endoscopy - no findings
    - multiple h. Pylori tests - negative
    - autoimmune blood tests - negative
    - thyroid tests - negative
    - ct scan and ultrasound of neck - negative
    I noticed that when I speak more, I tend to catch colds more often than I used to, which in turn makes my voice worse. Its puzzling.

    Omg, I did what you did so many years ago… 1982! Not my voice but it was my digestive trouble. I would go to the library back then because we had no internet back then. I would write the text I needed because we couldn’t check out the medical books… so I would spend an entire afternoon researching the books and writing what I needed to know! I feel like I could be a gastroenterologist without the degree because of all that research. Bottom line is I figured out what was happening with me and what I needed to do to prevent the problems. I also realized I wasn’t dying from a really weird disease.

    Thank you so much for posting this - I have a vocal disorder called spasmodic dysphonia that I've been on the path to healing for a few years now, and I eat up stories like yours (and love how you hit the nail on the head about the realities of not having a voice, it feels like being robbed of human-ness :-/). I ran across your videos because I think it is somehow related to digestive issues, as I've cleaned up my diet a lot my voice has started coming back in little eeks (even though it's considered neurological, my symptoms are somehow worse when I have mucus in my throat?) so this is my new rabbit hole for me to go down 🙂

    • @KickItNaturally
      @KickItNaturally  14 днів тому

      Yeah, I was told I had spasmodic dysphonia too and I even trained with the leading vocal coach in the country in that area in Los Angeles. I have had a chronic cough for 4 years. I have never smoked (anything). Have had x-rays; cat scans; uncountable blood tests; camera scopes down my esophagus; and more. They found nothing and no medications have helped. Now, I have been almost totally unable to talk for months (which is why I came here out of desperation). I lost my spouse of 35 years 16 months ago, but just stay at home and never go anywhere because when I try to talk, people think I am sick. And thinking of even trying to date again is totally out of the question.

      and I used these techniques to improve my hiatel hernia situation: ua-cam.com/video/J4GICcjT9Tw/v-deo.html

    Thank you so much! I found this video really helpful. I’ve been dealing with chronic laryngitis for 8 months now, and I’ve seen 4 different ENT doctors to no avail.
    I suspect mine might have something to do with acid reflux, as I’ve had reflux issues in the last couple of years, for which the doctors prescribed meds to reduce the acid. I’ll go do a check to see if I have a hiatal hernia and try to fix that. Also, a recent stool test showed a high H. Pylori, so I’ll try treating that as well. Thanks again!

    Great video! I've been dealing with chronic laryngitis for almost 2 months already. I don't have reflux tho. The doctors told me that it was because of voice overuse. I used to work at customer service. Almost every morning I had a sore throat but it got better during the day (some people told me they had the same, so I didn't worry too much). But some weeks ago I was at a party talking, singing loud, etc.. till I felt like needles and pain in my whole throat. Since then I have permanent pain and can't talk much. I'm very worried. I spent too much money on doctors and medicine but nothing worked..
    What do u recommend me to do? Do u think I could heal my throat? Any help is welcome. Thanks

      Hey Miguel. Sounds similar to me. I was at a live music event talking over the music when mine went out. Doctors told me I didn't have reflux either. Oops. You can't always feel it, but there is usually a reason or an irritant when the voice is not healing appropriately. Of course, I had other issues adding to it as well, but reflux was certainly a part of it for me. If you have go through our free digestion course, it also teaches you how to run simple self tests to see if you're dealing with imbalances that can restrict the body from moving into the repair state at night. That might be a factor too. You can find that free course here: kickitnaturally.com/course

      @@KickItNaturally thanks! Many doctors told me that with time I would completely lose my voice and that my larynx would stay irratated because the body lost the ability to heal the tissue. Have u met people that also had chronic laryngitis due to voice overuse, that fully recovered? And do u have to take any supplements forever to see any changes? Thanks once again

    • @KickItNaturally
      @KickItNaturally  2 роки тому +6

      Again Miguel, I don't know you and your case, but I don't share your doctors views. When a body can't regenerate, there is always a reason in my opinion. Looking for the most common imbalance that can create that situation is what makes sense to me. The digeston course can help you figure out if your body is stuck in the break down state AND if maybe you digestion is not bringing in the resources needed for the body to rebuild itself. I have seen MANY clients fix issues that their doctor told them they can not fix.

    I started having laryngitis 4 weeks ago and can't talk for more than 5 minutes straight even though I rested my voice for 2 weeks without saying a word.
    I was diagnosed with chronic rhinitis 6 years ago after a bad cold (back then I lost my voice for almost a week too) but I also have reflux (started maybe 2 years ago). The medications didn't work and so far I've visited many doctors.
    How is your voice now? Do you still have a sore throat and does it hurt when you speak? Or did you get rid of your laryngitis? Did your larynx return back to normal (no inflammation)? I had a laryngoscopy 2 weeks ago and it was all red inside.
    I'm looking forward to your answers. Thank you in advance!

      @@KickItNaturally thanks for your answer, I'm happy to know that you're ok now! And I'll definitely check out the course!
      I forgot to ask you... Do u still have a chance to fully heal even if the reflux doesn't play an important roll? Tbh my reflux was never that bad..
      I'm saying this because I still have chronic rhinitis from years ago that maybe worsens everything..
      And.. because recently a doctor told me that PERHAPS I've been using my throat incorrectly when speaking, wich might have been the principal or a crucial cause in my chronic laryngitis.
      I'm aware I only did that when I spoke other languages. I love learning languages and unconsciously I used to put a bit pressure on my throat muscles to try to pronounce sounds that don't exist in Spanish (ik it was dumb)..
      The doctors aren't sure what's the real underlying cause, but let's say it's one of the earlier mentioned... Then could I still fully recover or reverse my chronic laryngitis? Also, will my larynx ever return to its normal color or remain red?
      Sorry for the long messages. Have a beautiful evening!

    • @KickItNaturally
      @KickItNaturally  2 роки тому +1

      I absolutely believe you can get your voice back, but you will likely need to work on underlying causes of the problem, and doctors don't really do that. They just look to cover up symptoms. The red is a strong indication of a constant irritant, usually reflux or an infection that might be feeding down from the sinus cavity), or an inability for the body to repair correctly, which is very common. You should go through our totally free digestion course to learn how to look at any imbalances to see if your body can't get into that repair mode like it should.

    I’m so glad to have found this video I have been searching non stop for weeks. I lost my voice over 4 weeks ago. It literally came out of no where. It started with extreme throat clearing and a bit of a sore throat and by the end of that day I lost my voice. For 3 weeks my voice was gone completely but the sore throat and throat clearing eased up. So just had no voice with no other symptoms.
    I Went to an ent who diagnosed with acid reflux and told me to change my diet and prescribed me with omeprazole. I am also 8 months pregnant and already had acid reflux problem before the pregnancy, they just seemed to get worse as the pregnancy went on.
    As recommended I went to a Dietician and changed my diet and started taking the ppi. This past week i definitely see some kind of improvement but am still so frustrated. When I speak loudly my voice goes and I feel like I am out of breath when trying to speak still. It’s very depressing and don’t know what to do, it feels very much like i will never get my voice back. Why can I do???

    • @KickItNaturally
      @KickItNaturally  2 роки тому

      HI. You're in a tricky place because you're pregnant and the pressure from the baby can just push your stomach and put the LES valve in a place where it won't close correctly. The bad side of a PPI is that you're turning off digestion and reducing the ability to get nutrients out of your food. Be sure to watch our video about how acid reflux works and sign up for our free digestion course to get a better understanding of how to fix things nautally and you may need to wait until after you have the baby to find real relief. Let us know how it goes.

    My son has so many of the same issues. for the past year he’s been to urgent care, ERs and finally a digestive doctor where he has had a number of testing done. I have brought up the idea of him having hemochromatosis and it was dismissed. Yes he has high iron but let’s focus on the acid reflux.
    I also brought up- Is it possible that he has something in his sinuses that drains that’s causing other issues and I was looked at like I was crazy.
    He also has a hiatal hernia and webbing in his esophagus that he now needs surgery to be broken up and a blemish on his pancreas.
    These results were told to me months later after I insisted on finding someone to go over them with me and so far all they wanna do is give him medicine that I said makes him sick and their response was just to take it anyways.
    Clearly, there has to be a better way!!

    Do you have homozygous hemochromatosis? If so do you still get your blood drawn or have you found a natural way to deal with this condition? Do you get all your vitamin c through your diet? I've seen on many sites that say you shouldn't supplement vitamin c with that condition.

    I started having problems with my nasopharynx last year. Thick mucus constantly forms between the nose and throat, which blocks the throat and prevents saliva from being swallowed normally. Because of this, I lose my voice in the morning and mucus drains into the esophagus and trachea overnight. I dripped antibiotics into my nose and rinsed, but mucus still formed - very sticky and thick (sometimes like jelly - transparent or yellow-green, sometimes with blood). It also dries out the nose very much and crusts form. I visited 3 different ENT specialists, took CT scans, took drops, applied ointments, gargled, but nothing helped. Sometimes I can't even swallow food properly as it feels like somthing stuck in the throat. I need to sleep with tissue to split out the mucus as it's bothering me all the time and doesnt let me swallow.
    I was also found to have an esophageal hernia, and I am bothered by constant belching of air (after eating and water) and Helicobacter pylori +
    I understand that this is due to low acidity (although doctors usually put high acidity as diagnosis), but because of the hernia I cannot take HCL + I have erosions in the esophagus so taking acid can get even worse the situation. I tried to drink apple cider vinegar but didnt feel any better.
    Can you please tell me how to get rid of a hernia without surgery? I think it appeared after covid because I was coughing a lot.
    I want to get back to normal life as last 8 months were like a nightmare for me ((( Especially regarding
    lump in the throat - my life quality is getting worse😮‍💨
    I dont know may be that's some kind of parasites or bacteria in my nasopharynx...but I took some tests and it showed a bit overgrow of Candida and Staphylococcus aureus - may be that is the reason?🥲

      Not really, but corrected all those underlying causes I talked about in the video is what gave me my voice back. I don't really have to "treat" my hemochromatosis anymore. I just donate blood a few times a year and that keeps my numbers in a good range. It just took a lot to get them down to a human range in the beginning.
