Small mistake I made when talking about Linlin. I say "19th Century" when I actually meant 20th Century. My Ape brain forgot that 1900-1999 is the 20th Century.
The connection between Doffy and Don Quixote is that they both had delusions of grandeur. Doffy would always talk about the new era that is comming, where the weak will be left behind, only to be the first one to fall, as soon as the era he was talking about started. He thought he was in the ring with the giants but he actually was fighting his own delusions, just like his inspiration Don Quixote

I've always loved Mihawk's design. It's both understated and completely over the top which is perfect for a LEGENDARY character being introduced early on into the series. His simple humble ship fits his modest personality and his MASSIVE sword says everything you need to know about the guy right away.
I think tht doffy's design works rly well also because the pink feathers have such a soft smooth tone. Its a coat that passes this impression of warm and cozy, which strenghtens the facade that hides the absolute psycopath he actually is.
His reactions are also fairly tame compared to a lot of other characters, often preferring to have the same face on all the time, maybe with a vein poking out when he is annoyed or angry. The moment his plans suddenly get screwed up God, his change in expression really emphasizes how much this impacted him.

fun fact: brulee's mirro-world has a really cool double meaning. Obviously it's a "mirro[r] world", but by taking off the [r] it becomes mirro, and mirro/miro means look in Japanese which immediately made me think of "Through the Looking Glass", which to my knowledge is some kind of variation on the Alice in Wonderland story (most will probably think of the Tim Burton film) where Alice gets to wonder land through a glass mirror called a looking glass. I'm not really sure if it was intentional but considering how Oda does stuff, I wouldn't be surprised, and either way it's really cool how that works out.

The other thing I love about One Pieces design is its use of hierarchical scaling. There is no good explanation for why the Admirals, Whitebeard, Katakuri, Doffy, Magellan, (honestly so many human characters), are all like 8-10 feet tall. Oda has intentionally designed so many important characters as similarly huge compared to their peers. Of course there are exceptions, but by and large you can always expect the big bad of any arc to be taller than any normal human.

Sanji has a female following from what I’ve heard as well where they are quite taken with him. Oda’s character design has come such a long way and his ability to create beauty is very rare. Cartoons can be cute, or drawings/ portraits can be beautiful, but rarely are they both. Oda pulls this off. I find it remarkable. The Doflamingo design DEFINITELY comes from Michel Polnareff, the very same Polnareff that gave the Jojo character his name, the signature glasses and pink feathers are on-point, plus the blonde hair
@@puffthepirate1528 Just so that we have an understanding, I can tell the difference between two female characters, I just have more of the problem with the body achetype that's usually used-especially with how small the waists are, I wonder how digestive systems work-I mean can't we get a Rukia or Soi-Fon body type? If you take a look at Bleach chapter 193 for example, you can see that there is some more variety in body types, if Kubo is willing to put in the effort, why can't Oda?
So much amazing stuff to talk about One Piece, and everybody is wasting their times with "predictions" and imaginary scenarios from people who mostly aren't even good writers. 6:55 can some one please tell me what manga this is ?
Boy's Abyss
The Doflamingo design DEFINITELY comes from Michel Polnareff, the very same Polnareff that gave the Jojo character his name, the signature glasses and pink feathers are on-point, plus the blonde hair
Big mom looks like a Karen
“Noo-clee-are” not “Nooo-q-ler”
Michel Polnareff = doflamingo
What are your thoughts on how OP doesn’t exactly have all that much variety for female designs?

I want to know how Oda thinks One Piece will go. He tells us about it, in each chapter. Why would I care about Mr. UA-camr Nobody guess on someone else's story? Thanks for the video. Now this is interesting. If you think about it, Big Mom is also a sharp critic on our society. Supposedly, there is inclusiveness and tolerance, all races are together, but in the end that "motherly", "affectionate" power is removing life from people and placing it on THINGS! That's just some high level metaphor and stuff. I'd rather talk about the story and it's possible meanings, than listening to a random kid trying to make One Piece better than Oda does. What a silly endeavor...

while i'm just okay with franky's pt design, don't act like it's an "objective fact" that it looks bad, it's just your opinion
Nah bro their character is not brilliant or badass they look goofy and unique
That's why they are badass
@@poomipatlurkudom3883 no they are goofy ahh
some are weird lanky built 12ft while other are built like sandbag with chopstick legs and arm and don't let get started about their fashion like what the hell is big mama wearing granny Pajama with pirate hat and pointy black heel like what's that?!
@@soultaker823 That's why many people love One piece
Doflamingo has feathers because… Flamingo.
