For Ussop, it’s pretty well documented that geniuses tend to wear the same basic fit all the time for simplicity so their creativity can go else where.
I don’t care if Sanji’s raid outfit is just a recolor of his typical outfit, the dark red goes hard. Also I love the dad vibes of Jinbe’s egghead drip, he suits the Hawaiian shirt so much. I’m excited to see the egghead outfits be animated.
He looks like he'd fit right in a Yakuza game, Sanji looking like Akiyama was clean. I feel like changing the colours of Sanji's suit, not just his shirt, does wonders for him. Keeps the suave dapper man look they're going for but keeps variety. Sanji's outfits are very samey but then again does he really need to change that much?
@@MokerJaniac Hard agree. As a design it's a cool introduction to Robin but her Enies Lobby and Thriller Bark designs do a way better job actually showing us who is Nico Robin and what she's all about, which the Alabasta outfit doesn't really do
i looove Brook's outfits so much. it's really funny when you consider he's actually in like, his 80s. old man with the sickest fits. one of my favorites is his outfit from the Z's ambition filler arc
Crocodile, Doflamingo and Corazon are the drippiest one piece characters and that’s sayin somethin since we got Law, Mihawk and the strawhats are also all incredibly saucy (Robin being my favourite out of all the strawhats). This just goes to show how fun and colourful the cast of one piece is and how there’s somethin different for everyone, even for a single character
I find Law interesting because with him you can see an actual realistic style evolution between 24 and 26, with him seemingly preferring a darker color palette as a grows older, but also putting more effort into generally putting looks together, with some pieces he owns still seemingly being smth he bought beforehand. It’s a really funny contrast to Sabo, who’s had one style his entire life and refuses to change it up. Then again I love the way Sabo dresses, especially because it contrasts him against Ace and Luffy.
rosinante is so cuuuuuute with the hearts everywhere... hes also just very fun to watch eat shit on the ground with his lanky legs and big coat. great shapes and a super interesting contrast with doflamingo who technically has a very similar silhouette but ends up giving off a very different vibe just based on body language alone. also i just know that he was the one telling cora what to wear during that time. giving him his spare feather coat or something
I want to mention Luffy in Marine ford arc. I really like his Blue vest contrasting his red ribbon straw hat. Using that one treasure piece buggy wanted as an armlet. Franky and Usopp really shine in different outfits in Cover pieces
I find it interesting that Luffy wore Blue, Yellow, and Red throughout Sabaody + Marineford considering those are the colors him and his brother wore growing up. Wearing blue when he lost his entire crew and had to face the celestial dragons like Sabo, and wearing yellow and red during Marineford which were his and Ace’s colors

I personally think that skypiea outfits rocks. Nami with pigtails, robin's top with her iconic cowboy hat, just sanji's outfit overall and my personal favorite where zoro first changed his style with a purple tank top and goggles. It's simple but I think he looks extra cool that entire season. Usopp's wardrobe doesn't change much tho but he has this indie vibe. I wish oda will experiment his outfits more with that aesthetic AND CAN WE TALK ABOUT LUFFY IN IMPEL DOWN WITH THAT ARM BAND??? THANK YOU
Idk why it took me so long to notice how well one piece is doing in the drip department. My personal favorite for Luffy is his onigashima/roof piece fit. The coat showing tribute to shanks as well as the orange pants + the purple waist tie surprisingly look great on him. He looks like an actual yonko in that arc. My personal favorite for all the straw hats is the white fits in the “Gold” film. They were dripped down to the socks in that film.

Sanji & Robin in glasses are fantastic and I wish Oda would draw it more often. I totally agree that Ussop deserves to have more creative outfits but I also have to admit that his time skip redesign is probably my favorite. Brooke also deserves more outfit love, he is so dramatic and should have outfits that reflect that. I personally feel he deserves a magnificent coat like Crocodile or Doflomingo had. The man is a rockstar post time skip! Give him something more glam rock! David Bowie-ify the skeleton man! His time skip redesign basically just being a more colorful version of his original suit but with a crown always saddened me :( Franky's post time skip redesign is my 13th reason, I loved his original design so much. 😭😭 I know he became a huge and bulky mecha man because the comic is for teenage boys who will find this design cool and that the shaved hair was meant to lead to more creative freedom with new outfits but it still makes me sad as he was one of my favorite character designs for the main crew before time skip. Lovely video! The editing was top notch and stylish 😉

i was grinning full blown when it was zoro's moment, the guy is so cool and even cooler because u chose to flash shots of him from the manga and i had to pause the screen each time just to admire oda's prowess in drawing and blessing this guy the huge pecs. my favorite outfit of him are in skypiea arc --zoro with goggles and the deep blue sando (gosh he's so buff, my zosan heart is screaming in confinement) and also from the 13th movie Gold! him shirtless! with a uh green cap and shorts.
I’ll be honest, missed opportunity but ennies lobby luffy’s darker color palette is also a signal that luffy emotionally isn’t doing okay as normal, his crew lost merry, he was forced to fight ussop, and the WG forced Robin to leave them. Like you said he’s the same luffy but just in a much more emotionally stressful place. This reflects on ennies lobby Robin too, the all black, representing her as the personification of the darkness that the WG depicts her to be, And you can make the case that for sanji, when he doesn’t wear a suit and tie it’s him dropping the facade of “I’m a mature suave man” considering that sanji only started smoking to look more mature, even when that suit and tie attire is relaxed it’s him showing his true emotion on display I love this vid but I can’t lie I thought it’d be a much more in-depth analysis of the fashion of one piece beyond just that of “cool, I like this”

I really love the way zoro gets styled, especially when he's wearing stuff that leans into early 2000s fashion like graphic tees, stud belts, ripped/skinny jeans etc. I think that aesthetic really suits him and those kinds of casual outfits give him kind of like an older brother vibe and i love it. I think it helps lean into his character. On another note, the editing of this video is so fun and cool. I hope this video blows up!! One piece movies are great because of all the various outfits. 😊 Even when Uta changes them to look like ACTUAL pirates. I love Gold just for how sharp they all looked ❤
I sincerely wish there was a store that just specifically sold cloths from one piece. There are some genuinely cool T-shirts, botton downs, jackets and pants. Even just on background characters.
Kinda funny because the reason luffy change pants in Impel Down is he want pants with big pocket to store his (lunch) meat in. Also kinda fitting that either Margaret or Hancock gives luffy a red _blouse_ for him to wear during his time in Kuja.
This video has inspired me to hope for a scene where the Straw Hats switch outfits. Imagine right after Egghead, Vegapunk hits a reverse button on the clothes machine, changing everyone back from their Egghead outfits to their typical post-time-skip outfits, but everything gets all switched up because automation. I mainly want to see Jimbei and Franky in each other's outfits, but because of the target demographic, I predict Nami and Robin will wind up in Franky and Chopper's outfits.
Finally watched this video after months of it being recommended and I loved every second of it. Some top tier editing and some top tier takes, now I gotta go watch the movies and buy myself a pair of kneeless jeans. Thank you for the video!

I know I might be in the minority but I love Franky's post-timeskip design. The goofier aspects of his personality were my favourite parts rather than the gruff gangster aspects, and the post-ts design caters to that side of him a lot more. If feels like more true to himself rather than the crime boss persona he put on after going into hiding which his old design was more based around.
An thing i heard in a video called "Brook and Life" by MelonTee is that him wearing more bright and flashy clothing and donning an electric guitar shows how he's letting go of his past with the Rumbar pirates and letting himself live

The costume changes I think are actually part of the reason that my favorites are my favorites. Bleach, getting to see everyone in "Real World" threads, here in One Piece where they change clothes almost every arc, even the newer show Jujutsu Kaisen, the ending to season 1 was wonderful. It gives the characters so much more depth, that they chose these outfits, ensembles, they have...taste.

As someone with long hair, I'm also not a big fan of Nami's long hair. All I can think about when I see it is how annoying it is blowing around your eyes in the wind slowly forming a giant knot. Ussop ties his back and it's both awesome and practical.
You ever have really long hair and your bonnet is in the wash and you try to roll over in your sleep but you get tangled in your hair and yank it so hard you wake up?
I think Skypeia was the big shift, with Usopp putting on a shirt, Luffy opening his vest, Zoro switching to a tank top (beautiful), and Sanji’s hideous dad-on-vacation-esque Hawaiian shirt that I love so much. Nami’s bikini was also cute and fit the theme of the beachside nicely.

There are some genuinely cool T-shirts, botton downs, jackets and pants. Even just on background characters.
Kinda funny because the reason luffy change pants in Impel Down is he want pants with big pocket to store his (lunch) meat in.
Also kinda fitting that either Margaret or Hancock gives luffy a red _blouse_ for him to wear during his time in Kuja.
in my opinion, all the straw hats outfits in the egghead arc are so fire, i love it. zoro, sanji and luffy look so handsome.

This video has inspired me to hope for a scene where the Straw Hats switch outfits. Imagine right after Egghead, Vegapunk hits a reverse button on the clothes machine, changing everyone back from their Egghead outfits to their typical post-time-skip outfits, but everything gets all switched up because automation. I mainly want to see Jimbei and Franky in each other's outfits, but because of the target demographic, I predict Nami and Robin will wind up in Franky and Chopper's outfits.

For me one of the best Robin's oufit is that one she wore in Baron Omatsuri Movie, the white dress with a hat is really elegant and suits good on her.

I know I might be in the minority but I love Franky's post-timeskip design. The goofier aspects of his personality were my favourite parts rather than the gruff gangster aspects, and the post-ts design caters to that side of him a lot more. If feels like more true to himself rather than the crime boss persona he put on after going into hiding which his old design was more based around.
An thing i heard in a video called "Brook and Life" by MelonTee is that him wearing more bright and flashy clothing and donning an electric guitar shows how he's letting go of his past with the Rumbar pirates and letting himself live

The costume changes I think are actually part of the reason that my favorites are my favorites. Bleach, getting to see everyone in "Real World" threads, here in One Piece where they change clothes almost every arc, even the newer show Jujutsu Kaisen, the ending to season 1 was wonderful. It gives the characters so much more depth, that they chose these outfits, ensembles, they have...taste.

As someone with long hair, I'm also not a big fan of Nami's long hair. All I can think about when I see it is how annoying it is blowing around your eyes in the wind slowly forming a giant knot. Ussop ties his back and it's both awesome and practical.
You ever have really long hair and your bonnet is in the wash and you try to roll over in your sleep but you get tangled in your hair and yank it so hard you wake up?

I think Skypeia was the big shift, with Usopp putting on a shirt, Luffy opening his vest, Zoro switching to a tank top (beautiful), and Sanji’s hideous dad-on-vacation-esque Hawaiian shirt that I love so much. Nami’s bikini was also cute and fit the theme of the beachside nicely.
