It does hurt as I heal, there are some days that are worse than others, those days I stay busy, however it gets better everyday with time. Little by little I care less until eventually I will not care anymore.

Guys and girls keep up no contact and do the work! My ex came back and we are seeing each other again after 5 months... I thought I would never see her again and keep in mind we had a TERRIBLE break up. Self control is important during no contact and even more important during the next phase when you have to demonstrate your new self. It is much more challenging trust me. I'm still in difficulty but in order to have different results you need a different approach. Sending positive vibes to all. And a big thank you to Rory.. The overwhelming majority of them do. I know someone whose ex reached out after 11 fucking years - just let that sink in. But, they often reach out when you’ve moved on and genuinely don’t care about them anymore.

We were together for 3 years. He reached out and we're back together after 5 months apart. You're right. No contact and working on yourself does wonders. He felt the effect of what it was like to not be with me and he hated it. It forced him to grow to match up to my level before he had the courage to come back.

We had a normal relationship in the past. Luckily, he likes to communicate and we didn't have toxic issues. So when he left, I was surprised. External issues may have affected the relationship. Like the stressful job he got a few months before he left, financial struggles, his brother's death, etc. I also went through traumatic experiences outside the relationship that made him worry a lot about me. The breakup made us work on all those issues on our own. I've learned that you can't truly work on a relationship if you can't work on yourself. And now, we've grown and learned how to balance it all.

I have fallen in love with this channel! I was in a 6 month long relationship when he went from “I love you” to “I need a break”. I did some silly things to begin with. I cried, begged, but wouldn’t agree to be friends. I beat myself up for for ages because I wouldn’t just give him what he wanted. Having never been broken up with, I had no idea what your mind can make you do. It’s been about a month since we officially split, and two since we took a break. I’m lucky that when we officially split, I went into no contact right away and didn’t make too much of an ass of myself. I also lost 10kg and have been running every day since we went on break. I’m reaching the point where I’m not sure if I want him back. If I took him back, I would be explaining what I’m going to need from him. I feel your pain... what's crazy to process as in my case, it was simply a misunderstanding! We were video chatting one night (did it every night she was at home/had WiFi, long distance thing) and when we met she knew going in I was bitter about an ex that dumped me after 4 years. I brought her name up WAY too much in Hindsight, but not in a good way, but as a constant reminder of what I never wanted to happen again...anyway, I think she was about to drop the "L- word" ...and I either sensed it, or she asked me obliquely about it...and me being Mr. Comic at times, I said (just kidding!) "Oh Man! I'll never love again...and I'll cut my tongue out before ever using that word again " (something like that...) well, she laughed, rolled her eyes, we changed topics... but I see now that she (like most women!) Kept that remark frozen in her memory...so as time went on, we crossed the one year mark, I was going through some personal things (I trusted her, so I leaned on her, shared everything with her..) and maybe it was too much? But out of the blue, she ended it...yet, would meet me out tomorrow if I was in her city. I think I took her for granted, plus, based on a truly bizarre, kinda creepy relationship she had with some weirdo years ago, I think she truly doesn't know how to be happy? Once I gave her a dose of his a REAL relationship looks, she didn't know how to proceed...anyway...30 days NC is coming in 4 days after a botched get together...and her birthday is in 10 days.... I may reach out just to rattle her cage being that she's in Colombia, I'm here...see what happens. I have to stay in her field of view to stay in the game. I've already set the rules...no friendzone bullshit...but, you can't totally ignore them either if you want them.

My "wife and I have been together for six years. Some ups and downs of course. We have kids and have bought a house last year. She got a DUI with our youngest in the car, Second in 3 years. A protective order was put in place and after a few weeks she said she was unsure if she loved me or wanted to be together. It crushed me. I though she felt guilty and ashamed about it and just wanted some show of support. I was wrong. At first it seemed like she wanted freedom from the family and I, but after a few videos I really feel she is working on herself and I have been also. I was du m ped 3 months and 2 days ago. After five years the last 9 months being long distance ( i was gonna move there at thr end of the year) I had some issues.past trauma from child hood that I needed to deal with ( caused me to be insecure ) I was always there for him and the distance was tough for him but im.a nurse and the corona virus kept me.so busy that rhe last two months I was burned out. He broke up with me. I felt hom drifting away but I thought we were committed and id be there in two months! But he left me and I fell.apart . I watched all your videos and prayed he'd come back . He never did. Hes living his life happily . I guess he wanted to be able to do whatever and he thought I was keeping him from it. Thank you for your videos . For showing me I am deserved better. @@gookinstein I broke in early January when I heard that she got Covid. We talked for a while until she moved back in with her family. I fell back when she started talking to me sideways to me over her own unhappiness with life. She sent me an apology a few weeks later. I checked on her once, but I'm talking to someone new now.

I cried when i saw video he made for my birthday. 😥
I see the effect of "removing my attention" so stunningly fast. It works at all stages. I met my ex and didn't try to hug him for long, so he hugged me longer instead. I also didn't attempt to initiate any sort of physical contact (which is against many advices but I knew for sure it works on him) and he ended up kissing me.
I still have a question: I don't want to ignore him when he reaches out, but he reaches out almost every single day. What should I do, I want him to miss me, but ignoring him would send the wrong signals I guess.

my ex reached out a week after we have broken up. and he kept sending me messages at least once a week...but i listened to this a little after... things got out of hand and it got worse. Now we are approaching our 3rd month of separation and 1 month of NC. the quarantine is adding anxiety to my situation but doing my best to keep it together.

Feel for you. My wife left me 10 November, told me it was finished 12 December. Hurts all the time but I've told her I accept she needs to do what's best for her. We still have some communication and I'm hoping to use it carefully and sparingly to either reattract or to get strong and move on. Ah man this is so true advice to the word. But too late for me. I made every mistake what not to do. I loved my lady a lot. Saw her through cancer then a slipped disc. We lasted 4 years until I had a business deal go wrong. I lost $350,000. I got low depressed and not much fun. She walked away. But I needed her. I broke every rule of NC and then got angry when I saw her out dressed to kill. All her chat about I’ll be there for you, I still love you, I feel guilty what I done to you just seemed like BS. Until things went wrong for me we did have a great time. I guess I have to accept she couldn’t support me like I did her and have to move on. But I’m sure if I done the right NC she would have been back within a few months. I’ll never know now.

This channel has helped me focus on self-growth, building up healthy boundaries, and letting go of the desire to control my ex's decisions. I am grateful for being dumbed after dating my ex for 3.5 years, so I was finally able to work on dealing with my issue of having unrealistic expectations because of fear. Lots of tears and discipline of not reaching out. He directly reached out to me after 2.5 months of break-up. I said no (with lots of reluctance) because this channel helped me realize that I still acted with anxiety, so I made a commitment to myself "I am not reaching out until I get him off from the pedestal". I did more self-discovery work (about 12 hours per week) and I reached out after 7 months for a catchup conversation over coffee. He said yes and mentioned that he still liked to give another try. I got emotional again and asked for another 30 days of no contact with kindness, so I could get clarity on whether I was acting based on emotion or logic. We got back together after 9 months, started very slowly (from contacting each other only once 5 days to almost every other day now). I learned that pacing the relationship is so important, so that we can have time to forgive each other and NOT TO BRING UP THE PAST unless we have to discuss specific events to heal. We have been together for about 5 months. I am grateful that I can now appreciate and cherish this person much more when I can take care of myself and have self-love. It is not his or anyone's job to heal my wounds from the past. Thank you Rory!! 🙏

Hello , I have a situation that I can't define and don't know what to do. I will appreciate if you help me. So, here is the question.
I broke up with my girlfriend before 2 weeks, we was together for about 3 months . I did No contant rule in this period after the breakup, but last friday I was walking and I saw she forgot to turn off car headlights (we work very close to each other (1min away)), so I went and tell her colleagues to tell her, after about an hour she texts me to say thanks and we had a little conversation but nothing more. We have almost same habits - running etc. This monday i went to the city stadium to run and we met there , the next day we met at work and the day after we met again at the stadium. She was smiling to me and I think she is a bit shy when we talk. Should I take action and try to get together again or I should continue with No contact rule? Did I broke the no contact rule by telling her colleagues about the headlights?

I didnt do that, so im afraid i gave her a way to get over me....i did everything wrong and feel like a fool for being in her life. I thought i was able to get her back by being there...now shes dating someone else and it feels like a breakup all over again....what should it do now?

Its funny that you say they wonder why you haven't reached out. Well after 1 week of no contact he reached out to check on me through this Coronavirus frenzy. Then said he was just checking on me because he hadn't heard from me since our last message to each other (it was the day he dumped me) 😂😂 .Imagine that, he wonders why he hasn't heard from ME. So I kept my response short and sweet and he ended with "well if you want company soon/later let me know." lol
I'm still not convinced that disappearing from her makes her think about u. She has a new guy to keep her occupied in addition to loosing feelings for me the last time me and her talked. It's been A MONTH, their relationship is still going strong while I sit here working on myself and hoping for a sign that she is thinking about me. So far it looks like shes found who she wanted and it hurts deeply.

My boyfriend just cheated, completely out of his character, he travels for work, he doesn’t do that type of thing, we still communicate as we have bills and he says he wants to save us, however he doesn’t talk to me consistently as that’s my biggest pet peeve. However, we are all humans; we have flaws; we have imperfections. They can either accept those flaws as face value then try to address those flaws with proper communication; or they can leave.

But NOW, it s all about you. YOU have to take a look and reflect on the failed relationship and ask:
1) what are the problem areas you need to adjust so you can be more successful in the future?

In the end, you walked away as a winner because you did gain some important reflections and lessons. And the relationship was NOT a failure.

So I feel like my situation is very unique.. but basically my ex and I split so that we can work on ourselves then have a fresh start together. We relied on each other too much we both lost ourselves so we needed to work on that separately.
It’s been almost 2 months of no contact BUT only last week we did have a conversation about how we’ve been. He did mention he wants to see me when the times right, when we’re both ready. But he won’t be ready until he can cope with it all emotionally.
I think it’s the same with me, I need to be comfortable living within myself before I can see him again. Otherwise I’ll fall into my old needy habits.
Have you ever had a situation like this? How long roughly do you think we will both need to be able to emotionally handle the breakup so we’re able to reconnect? Do you have any thoughts?

My ex broke up with me three weeks ago yesterday. I began NC immediately following. She wished me Happy Father’s Day and texted me “I miss you 😔” four days ago. I haven’t responded to either. She reach out (after about 2 months), about some random photo of her she sends me a long time ago. I was cool about it, not especially nice nor rude. Simple 'hi i will find it' and when she replays after coule hours that she dont need it anymore, I wrote, 'ok, cool;)'. It was about 3 weeks ago, and no contact again. Did I ruined it? Should I be more open when she reachs out? After all that she contacted mutal firends and even my brother.

I don't think you ruined anything. As a matter of fact, it was a good thing. She was testing the water to see if you were still sitting there and moping/pining for her. Based on your responses, she knew that she'd need to go back to the drawing board and come up with a new approach. Hang in there. She will contact again.

Aggy Drake you care and that’s okay, it’s all about healing properly in time what he’s doing doesn’t reflect your worth or you! It’s hard but remind yourself. I’m not with anyone else, and he didn’t try and get me back. We have since spoken but I know he does not want to be with me again - the breakup was an excuse a symptom of other feelings or maybe not being ready to commit. Even after all this time he can’t get over it and doesn’t want to be in a relationship whatsoever... just remember forgiveness comes hand in hand with love - if someone is unable to forgive you then let them be.

There was never a huge fight or big issues. Just random couple differences. We’ve practically hooked up twice per week since our breakup 2 months algo. I’m done chasing. Is exhausting. Alright it was 4 weeks ago we broke up and I stopped contacting two weeks ago. The longer the begging, the longer it will take for her to come around and forget the negative feelings. That's okay. Just keep doing No Contact and turn your focus INWARDS. I know you miss and love her deeply, but you have to let HER be the one to reach out to you. Be confident that you are doing the RIGHT thing by letting her have her space and room to breathe. In the meantime, cope but do not forget yourself. Love yourself. Respect yourself. Be the same person she fell in love with, but this time be better.

I was with girl for a month . 7 days ago we broke up. She was in long relationship for 8 years and now she was single for a 4 months.
She was in emotional situations few times saying that she likes me but can not be with anybody because of her x and her last breakup.
She is not over everything that was in last relationship and she told me that i forced few things last days and that she needs time for herself. She said that maybe we will not see each other...
