I go up to my parents house every Sunday evening and make them a meal. They are both vegetarian (although my mom will eat fish occasionally) and I just wanted to comment that I always check this channel every week before I head to the grocery store for their meal. They love chickpea dishes and this is what I'm going to make them today. I love the addition of the avocado slices, and I may add either some cubed eggplant or potato since this will be a main dish (and because that will leave leftovers for me to bring home). 😆

What a wonderful tradition! Love the idea of cubed eggplant too. There is a place here that makes these eggplant fries that blow me away every time. Like your mom I do seafood every once in a while. But some times I’ll do a vegetarian alternative using Nori sheets (seaweed) that I turn into powder with my coffee bean processor. Add that to smashed up chickpeas and what ever else you typically add to your tune and you got a great “tune” sandwich. Good with club crackers too!

This is just such a beautiful video. More than a cooking video, it’s kind of a food meditation. Beautifully filmed. No obnoxious, loud music. Beautiful lighting. Great knife skills. Love how each ingredient stays in the shot till the frame is full, then is used one-by-one in the recipe and cleared till we are left with just the final dish. A work of art! 💙🌱

Hi Andrew! I'm a BIG fan of the channel and I love you work!
Possibly something like fruit salads? A lot of people struggle to eat their veggies during the summer because of the wide variety of fresh fruit, so maybe incorporating them in a salad would be so helpful for all of us.

Things I can serve cold, not just room temp. Being half Korean I love icy noodle soup, Mul Naengmyeon. I switched the beef broth out for simple kelp or mushroom broth with a little fermented black beans for extra umami. If I could find more things like this for summer, savory cold meals, I would be in heaven.

@@buildbybh I'm with Badria. Fruit ingredients that aren't intended to make the dish sickeningly sweet with heaps of sugar. Eons ago I once had a cold salad recipe that included tossed avocado, dates and toasted ground pecans with an oil and dark brown sugar dressing. I can't remember all the ingredients but it was unexpectedly good. Light but satisfying.

As always this looks amazing. I think it would be great as a wrap. I have pots of basil all over my house. Great to be able to just pick the leaves off as I pass, smells awesome, cleans the air, keeps the bugs at bay, etc. Lemon basil is probably my favorite because I always throw it into my drinks.

We eat well, but it's time for this change for our long-term health. Thank you for amazing videos and your receipt site that partners with it. Perfect for my brain. I'm going to do most of the cooking, I just retired, and right now feeling a bit overwhelmed with what to buy and how to rebuild our kitchen. I made this today and loved it! I couldn't find sumac where we live but I've ordered it online for next time. This time, to sub for the sumac I used lemon pepper. Can't wait to try it with sumac. Also I'm wondering about sprinkling some dried cranberries on top next time? Love the tart/sweet combo. I served it with curried par-boiled rice. As we say in Hawaii, "ono" !!! (I also like how you prep & prepare without talking so we can just watch & learn, then your commentary at the end ties it altogether with hints & further instruction. Wow! I loved how you designed the videos to be. First we see the beautiful making with only some subtitles explaining ingridients and fancy music on the background. Then you explain, ellaborate on the process, adding what we can do differently. This makes the action part shorter so we can just use it as a guide and also get informed with the second part if that is our wish. Congrats 👏🏻

Thanks for this. I think I may try using lettuce with this as a make-shift taco. I think that would give a little cooling factor with the warm salad. As for recipe ideas, I live in an area that tends to be hot and humid during the summer, so I'm always looking for cool meals - soups that can be eaten cold, salads with fruit, etc. I look forward to any recipes you come up with. I didnt put in the sumac bc not a single grocery store carried it and i didnt add cabbage or red wine. I grilled chicken to go along with it and marinated in paprika, garlic and onion powder salt and pepper with olive oil and a splash of white vinegar. i can honestly say this was one of the best dishes i've made in a looooooooonnnnngggggg time. Highly recommend. so freaking packed with flavor and digests very easy. sooooooo gooood. thanks brother

Thank you for your recipes.. This was the first one to try, but I couldn't get my hands on sumac spice. I'll try to get it for the next time. This was very delicious recipe, OMG 🤩👍

One more thing I would like to add... I have had problems with the insuline spikes, but this portion did nothing to my insuline levels although I even added the sugar... I actually felt quite amazing after eating, no spikes, no sweating, no stuffy nose (allergic reactions), nothing although there was quite a lot spices... I am speechless 😁
