Happy New Year to you and your family! 🎉 I always love your recipes, and this one looks so simple and quick, yet delicious, so a good weeknight meal option. Thank you! I hope 2024 is a great year for you. Keep cooking 😁
Because I was like ummm, where's that baby whisk I'm (We're) use to seeing 😂 Btw, enjoying Your other channel too with Your Beautiful Wife 😊 Be Blessed 😇
I need a baby wisk…every time I cook now the kiddos ask where's mine. Followed by a disapproving head shake and the gentle but strong whisper of the word…fail
I’m here after watching “You Are What You Eat” over on Netflix. Although not ready to leap into a vegan diet outright, I will prepare at least three plant based meals a week for my family this year (I currently do 1-2). I’m loving your presentation and recipes. I’m going back through your videos today meal and grocery list prepping. I’m excited. New subscriber. 🇨🇦
❤️ thank you so much for tuning in! It took me years to go vegan. i started with 1 meal a week for a month, then 2, then 3 and so on (similar to you). Soon i collected so many recipes I liked i was about to a month. go at your own pace. you got this! 🙌🏾🫶🏾
@@TheBradleyd1146 😢 The bottoms actually taste good, if you peel off the “barky” part and slice them. They have a taste that is different from the top of the broccoli. It’s worth trying at least once. 😊
I’m watching this all the way from Scotland. I absolutely love the format, the style and the content of these videos. I’ve watched UA-cam for years and these are some of the best cookery videos I’ve watched. I’m a huge fan!
Thank you for making affordable, easy to replicate vegan meals! Helping my family eat more plant-based diets has helped them lower their bad cholesterol and maintain healthier blood sugar levels. Gonna add this to the rotation.
I just made this, and it is restaurant quality. I have made 3 of your dishes thus far, and they were great. There's only about 4 or 5 tubers whose dishes have never failed me. Your dishes are truly trustworthy and top-notch. Thanks
Incredible. About two months ago I had to overhaul my eating for health reasons, and I went back to basics and tried to make the ultimate healthy, cheap, quick, tasty meal that was all fresh and whole foods, and I came up with almost the exact same dish, minus the chickpeas and nuts. By the time the rice finishes cooking, the the rest of the meal is prepped and cooked. Rice is easier on the stomach than other carbs, the garlic is working overtime for your health, I also go heavy on the pepper and ginger. Broccoli, especially burnt/charred slightly undercooked, is so satisfying and tasty, it’s really overlooked. You can also tweak it for Asian flavors, or European flavors, or Mexican, and if being vegan isn’t a necessity, you can add prawns or seafood or a little beef. But honestly in its vegan form it’s so satisfying.
Thank you for your input! Great info for those like me who are watching (my 2nd video) and aren't vegan. I would like to add a couple of meals to my rotation though.
Really great recipes are key to staying plant based. IF the food does not taste good and has a boring flavor profile, you will not stick with it. Your channel can be a game changer for a lot of people.TY!
I acquired a taste for plain food just like everyone acquired the taste of cooked marinated meat from young. So it helps me differentiate the different ingredients in a dish.
I’ve been vegan since 1979 and still have those ‘protein withdrawals’ of sorts. Hunger pains are definitely hormonal so the ebb and flow of how much you need to feel satiated changes daily. Probably more so for women , but it’s something we all should keep in mind.
My mom became vegetarian in 1969 after reading Diet for a Small Planet. Later she was macrobiotic for 10 years. Now she's 88, she started eating chicken a few years ago because she was "always hungry."
I made this on Sunday as a meal prep for the week. It was amazing. Reheated nicely for work. I “forced” my family to eat it because it was so good. They loved it too. ❤
New here and researching more plant based diets to get into my life. You had me first with the cashews...OH, that and breaking down the broccoli stalks like a sane person. WHY DON'T PEOPLE DO THAT????
I love this recipe (as in going to make it tomorrow) as well as your tips! Just as an alternative with the broccoli though: I always use the stems, but I peel them. It doesn't really take long, and then the stems cook just as quickly and tenderly as the florets. I started doing it back when you could only buy whole heads of broccoli (crowns weren't a thing yet) and I couldn't bear to waste the lovely stems! Thanks again for an inspiring recipe!
Made this tonight. I’ve made a handful of your recipes. All have been great. This was maybe my fave so far. I’ve been V for 25 years and always looking for something new, easy and delicious and nourishing. I’m big on stir fry style take out food as well. So easy to make it cheap and healthy. I swear This is the kind of food that I lived off of the first 10 years of living on plants and what I still go to a couple times a week at least. Simple, affordable, nutrient dense and so tasty. Thanks for spreading the word and knowledge on all this, Andrew. It’s a magical life. Plants forever.✌🏻
Love the recipe. Nutritionists say brown rice is better than white rice for health reasons. But many, including me, don’t like the taste of whole grain rice. I have cracked it. One part whole grain rice, one part white rice, one part brown lentils. Delicious and nutty with a very faint black pepper note to the taste and contains more fibre and protein than white rice alone. One tip, the white rice has a slightly shorter cooking time, cook the brown rice and lentils for 5 minutes before adding the white rice and then cook until all 3 are cooked together.
I made this for my family tonight, and the children gave me two thumbs up. This meal was delicious, I see why you said that you eat this often. It was very flavorful and filling. Thank you. I am getting very close to adopting a plant based diet. 👍🏽👍🏽
I am trying this today. Thank you for sharing. One of the hardest parts of plant based eating is finding simple and delicious main meals but you have really made it easy to create them, follow along and most importantly make em tasty
Just wanna say that I love your recipes, basically only cook your dishes now ! It is balanced, nutritious and delicious and was enough to get rid of the last plant alternative I was using. Supporting you from today ! Keep the good work in 2024 !
Thank you, YT algorithm, for putting this video in my feed - it's a plant-based dish that doesn't start with onions! My wife can eat it! (For real, though - I look forward to going through your other content!!)
Great video! Can't wait to try it! Btw I am a HUGE fan of your roasted red pepper sweet potato soup (which I call winter soup)! I have a tip that I learned this week: to cut the broccoli and avoid all those small seeds (florets) lying around you can cut the smaller stems and open from there with your hands. That way the "florets spill" is avoided! It might be more time-consuming though
Hello! I wanted to leave a comment for you about this recipe video. I am so hooked on this recipe! If this was all there ever was to eat, I'd eat it daily and be so happy. It has everything I already like to eat! It tastes awesome and I've made it several times already. TFS an awesome video and recipe!❤🧡💛💚💙💜
Am eating this at the moment! It is so delicious. Was super quick and so much food from a few simple ingredients. Will definitely include as a regular meal🤩

Nice! One of the best, clear explanations for trying plant-based meals. The categories listed were spot on for the concerns or hesitations some of us have in changing one's food choices.

Thank you so much, Nard Dog! Your life changing recipe may now change my life, too. The fact that you make and share food that is full of flavour and quick & easy, makes me think this might be possible for me 🙌🏽
This recipe is delicious. The only change I made was add the cashews on top when the meal was finished. Anything with chickpeas I am interested in! Thanks, bud!
I just made this for tonight's dinner. I love it, it's so filling. enough for 3 portions. (leftover friendly) It's a keeper. Thanks again for sharing Andrew.

This is exactly what I was searching for!!! Happily subscribing and looking forward to following along. Much Appreciated, Cheers
Hello from France. Thank you so much for this video. It looked so yummy, I ran out and got the other ingredients needed to make the dish and it was delicious. Even chopped the cashews on my cutting board as you did😊. Then had it over a bed of whole wheat rice and looking forward to eating it tomorrow for lunch😉😉
You nailed it! Convenience, flavor and satiation are key to maintaining a healthy vegan diet. I have been vegan for 8 years and I am still learning new ways to cook. Thank you for breaking this down so thoughtfully. Your videos are awesome. I found you though Instagram.
I found this channel and this recipe and love it. I shared it with my wife and kids (each of them are not vegan) and they love it. It’s in the regular rotation! Thank you!
Hey Andrew! Ok, this recipe changed my life… I’m on my Vegan life walk and so far so good. I absolutely love this recipe and have introduced it to several friends. We use this recipe at my church for our Daniel Fast. Absolutely amazing. Thanks!
Came to look at the ingredients and ask if I could get away with leaving the chili out as I can't eat it, and it says it's optional, so I am pleased! I love your recipes and the detail you go into in explaining how to sub things as well.
Love this video!!! Just one remark - maybe it’s made on purpose but I always try to see the ingredients I need when I like the video. To see ingredients on your video I need to watch it once again stopping to write down what and how much I need. It would be more helpful for those who follow you and want to cook if you would put the list of ingredients only under the video or in your first comment. Thank you!❤
I’ll be making this tonight for my lunches this week. I’ll substitute the rice with quinoa, better for my sugar levels since I’m diabetic. Might add some red bell pepper also. Your recipes are amazing and that beard is bad A$$. Keep up the amazing work. Anyone reading this let’s get this man to 1 million subscribers, it would be well deserved.
I am not an all plant based eater in any way, shape or form however, I was very curious about this recipe when it came across my feed and I saw the title. I have to say, I love all the items in the recipe and am going to try it without..LARGE PAUSE..adding chicken. lol. Thank you!
Rice…One of the Dr’s on their UA-cam channel says to use short brown rice. After rinsing rice brown it, then add water coming one inch up from the rice. Cook! He says people are eating rice wrong. This method makes the rice taster. 😊
I do not like the texture of broccoli stems, however when I rice them with my food processor I don't mind them. I have always loved chickpeas. I am not vegan, don't really plan to be, but certainly open to having 2-4 vegan meals per week. Great videos.
I have the exact same 3 requirements and wonder about some of the plant based meal recipes I see. Trying to make some part of the week but my husband eats a lot and a lot of the meals don’t work for him. Thanks, definitely going to try make this!
I'm going to try this meal. After losing my husband last year and cooking for him with pleasure for 13 years, I have a hard time now cooking for myself. I eat out alot and when I do cook, I don't like the food I cook.
Thank you for sharing your talents. I am going to try this recipe and your anti-inflammatory soup. I'm a bit nervous to make it for my family, but I want to introduce something different for us. Thanks again!
6:33 one cheat i use for protein is Fava bean powder, which is a complete protein, adds flavour / richness and is 80% protein. Also, I have now become addicted to, is activated and dried Cashew nuts.
Just discovered your channel a couple of days ago. Long time veggie. Made this meal tonight. Big success with the boys (he has the same taste for garlic and soy sauce than me). I will try adding a big spoon of rice vinegar in the soy sauce and fresh ginger next time, to get this japan fusion taste we love at home. Thanks.
I appreciate you for sharing this recipe. It was delicious! I subbed coconut aminos for the soy and made a honey-roasted chili peppers sauce instead of the garlic chili sauce. Came out great! 👩🍳
Happened to see another post of yours and I followed with this. Love the way you present the cooking part (concise and to the point). I never met anyone else who loves garlic as much as I do. Even though you say that you don't want to spend much time preparing meals, have you tried using dried legumes yet? I know it's quicker with canned but much healthier if you boil your own. You can refrigerate/reeze the surplus and have it ready. Also, where did you get that nice skillet cover? Thanks.
I pulled some old footage of one of my favorite plant based recipes. My seasoned family may notice that Baby Whisk hasn’t yet been born 🥹😅
Happy New Year to you and your family! 🎉 I always love your recipes, and this one looks so simple and quick, yet delicious, so a good weeknight meal option. Thank you! I hope 2024 is a great year for you. Keep cooking 😁

To see ingredients on your video I need to watch it once again stopping to write down what and how much I need. It would be more helpful for those who follow you and want to cook if you would put the list of ingredients only under the video or in your first comment. Thank you!❤
this is just the talk I needed to get me into the Plant based diet. Andrew you are briliant !!
Good man! When I make dishes with garlic, I use a full bulb also. Besides being good for you, it keeps the vampires at bay. Great recipe! Great video.
The sounds and your voice are so pleasant- I could watch this as ASMR alone 😌
I am not an all plant based eater in any way, shape or form however, I was very curious about this recipe when it came across my feed and I saw the title. I have to say, I love all the items in the recipe and am going to try it without..LARGE PAUSE..adding chicken. lol. Thank you!
I bought a can of chickpeas the other day to make a different dish. I’m going to try this one first!! ❤
🙌🏾❤️ enjoy!!
Absolutely amazing how fast and fantastic that is……Wow!!!
Rice…One of the Dr’s on their UA-cam channel says to use short brown rice. After rinsing rice brown it, then add water coming one inch up from the rice. Cook! He says people are eating rice wrong. This method makes the rice taster. 😊
Loved the way you talked through afterwards.
I do not like the texture of broccoli stems, however when I rice them with my food processor I don't mind them.
I have always loved chickpeas.
I am not vegan, don't really plan to be, but certainly open to having 2-4 vegan meals per week.
Great videos.
I'm having this tonight - without the beans though. Thanks for taking the time to show us how to make delicious yet healthy meals🥗
I have the exact same 3 requirements and wonder about some of the plant based meal recipes I see. Trying to make some part of the week but my husband eats a lot and a lot of the meals don’t work for him. Thanks, definitely going to try make this!
Thank you. I have all the ingredients except for the chili paste. Will pick some up today and am having this for dinner!
🙌🏾cant wait for you to enjoy!
I'm going to try this meal. After losing my husband last year and cooking for him with pleasure for 13 years, I have a hard time now cooking for myself. I eat out alot and when I do cook, I don't like the food I cook.
❤️ im sorry for your lose. thanks for sharing. hope you enjoy and continue to find meals here that you like 🙏🏾
Thank you for sharing your talents. I am going to try this recipe and your anti-inflammatory soup. I'm a bit nervous to make it for my family, but I want to introduce something different for us. Thanks again!
Just made this…DELICIOUS! The chickpea and cashew take the place of meat quite nicely!!! My 1:58 , non-vegan daughter enjoyed it. THANK YOU!
I made this tonight. Only thing I added was green onion for garnish. It is truly epic. Thank you!
Very easy recipe to make and it came out good! Thank you!
6:33 one cheat i use for protein is Fava bean powder, which is a complete protein, adds flavour / richness and is 80% protein.
Also, I have now become addicted to, is activated and dried Cashew nuts.
🙌🏾 thanks for sharing!
I made this recipe for my dinner 3 times this week. Absolutely delicious!
First one I have seen and thought the format was brilliant. Will give this one a go and watch a few of your other vids as well. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for educating us while also providing healthy and delicious meal options. You are amazing ❤💐🌟💯
We made this for supper last night, and it was devoured (even the teenagers loved it!!)
Man! I just love your video presentation soo much❤❤
Thank you so much ❤️🙏🏾
recipe is amazing. I added ginger and seitan. I will be making this over and over.
Thanks.
Just made this! So delicious. Added avocado and cilantro on top. So delicious.
Thanks.
Love your channel. You keep it very easy and simple. What a great job you do!!!! 👏🏾 👏🏾👏🏾🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Missed you lately. Another amazing recipe! Happy New Year to you and your family! ❤
❤️ happy new years to you and yours! ❤️
Yeah, I'm making this tomorrow. It's everything I love in a meal. Thx
