Just discovered your blog over the weekend, thank you so much for all of the great content!! I purchased the Canon point and shoot a few days ago, but. have now returned it, and bought the M50 yesterday, you are right, it's a completely different world, so much faster, and so much better. Thank you for steering me in the right direction! Looking forward to more info!
We just purchased your setup through Amazon using your store! Thank you for the advice and the amazing videos. They truly helped us make a decision in purchasing our vlog gear.
Good question! Above beginner level like full-frame cameras? The EOS RP is well-loved, but overall I don't think Canon hasn't nailed their full frame mirrorless offerings yet. Of course there is the new 1Dx III if you want huge and expensive, but awesome 😊
This is dopest vlogging camera set up I have seen. I bought the canon g7x mark iii last week and found your channel but ended up returning it because I want to stick with my m50
This video totally sold me on every piece of equipment. My current setup is a canon 80D, Ronin SC, Comica external hotshoe mic, a way heavy 17-55mm 2.8 and all the charging cables and garbage it comes with. I’ve been eyeing the M50 for about a month to scale down the size of cameras and other equipment prepping for a huge motorcycle trip and obviously having less space than normal but not wanting to give up filming some cinematic elements, I think found all I need. Thank you very much. Deuces ✌🏼
I just randomly stumbled upon this video and I just wanted to say it was so well made, very informative and I love the structure with the clearly laid out list and explanations for each. Concise, to the point, just the right amount of smiles. Thank you!
With a few days old M50, I'm glad I found your reviews. I just ordered this Sigma 16mm for vlogging. And definitely will look into your tutorials on video setup (cheat sheet). I will be starting my youtube channel soon. Thank you!
Alicia, my wife and I are just starting out on The vloging journey. It just so happens we picked up the M 50 and the gimbal plus . Yes the gimbal is a bear to balance I had to get my daughter to do it for me LOL. I’ve watched a lot of reviews on the M 50 and camera equipment in general. You did an excellent job, clear concise , and clean thank you for that. I look forward to many of your upcoming videos. I hope we can be as clean as you have presented your footage. Happy travels
Hi Mark, So awesome to hear that! And I'm glad the info was helpful. The trick to presenting in a clear and concise way is to plan in advance as much as you can, which isn't always possible with vlogging but it's all about balance- both with message and with the gimbal 😆 Good luck with your channel!
Thanks for the review! Searching for new camera for my fishing channel and your setup looks perfect. Need something clear and stable for when I’m on bumpy waters!
I just bought it ALL!! Thanks to you. LOL. The camera, the wireless go, the lens, the gimbal... ALL of it. Can’t wait to play with my new toy(s). This virus has got me into all types of hobbies!
You convinced me! My G7x mark ii has stopped working and I have been looking around for a better vlogging camera. This one, along with the SIGMA lens will be purchased and used for my new vlogs. Thank you for your informative videos. I am a new subscriber!!
Very cool. I've been debating on which camera I should buy, and I've been watching quite a few review videos on different cameras. This video helped me make my decision.
Thanks AMaeTV for this tip especially for a newbie like me.. now I know what to buy and what to consider. I might set up mine liek how you set up up yours because I want it to be minimalistic as well. Thanks and have a great day!
Just found this video and appreciate the info! Now that the video is almost a year old, do you still love everything just as much as when you filmed it?
Thank you! Not only did you help me with deciding on purchasing the M50, you also saved me from mounting a dead cat on my shoe mount! Hilarious Lol. Forever grateful and saved one of the nine lives. I’ve been using the iPhone with a mic called “Hey Mic” which is a cool setup, but ready to upgrade my quality. So thank you very much.
I love how in this relationship YOU are the camera nerd and your husband merely helps you as an assistant :D It's a nice change from all the McKinnons out there.
I am so happy I found your channel. Just invested in a Canon M50 and now in the process of setting up a mobile rig. I appreciate your insight to consider keeping it light. Thank you! -RA
Thank you very much for this very informative video. Thank you for making this content. Im new in youtube and I am learning a lot on what equipments to get for my vlog. Thanks
Thank you for all this information! This was the most helpful blogging video I've watched. I'm preparing a for a 5 year motorcycle trip around the world and the I'm trying to find the magical sweet spot between size, convenience and quality. Your setup (and all your suggestions) seem like a winning combination!
I appreciate this video, I’ve been looking for this exact information for a while, it seems like each video you watch they don’t tell you exactly what you need to hear… This one is perfect.
Your setup is great! I've got the M50 too and I love it so much for vlogging. I am going to check out your other video on the EF-M Sigma lenses. I am curious about how the footage looks between the different lenses in my quest to learn more about this camera, hehe.
Thanks for all the knowledge I got myself a Canon M 50 as well and just started doing some daily vlogs so the information you have provided is very useful so I had to subscribe to you going to check out the rest of your videos as well because I’m sure there’s some great knowledge in them
Well, I am so glad I found your channel. We received my M3 one day ago and within hours were getting a refund ticket and ordering an M50. Nothing wrong with the M3 I felt it would be a great intro camera for blogging and then compared the two side by side and it was clear the M50 just offers more bang for the buck. Trying not to go crazy with buying unneeded equipment but building a wish list for sure. Thanks for the great information.
"Im going to be traveling a lot more this year." ......yea how'd that work out so far lol!! In al seriousness, great video!! I just purchased this to step up my youtube channel!
Brian Diamond haha yep that’s a sad observation but totally true I just broke down and started a channel too! But you know what? this time gives us all the time to reflect, soul search and really figure out ourselves!. So let’s take it in stride and work on improving ourselves !!!
Hi Mam, loved your vlogs, very detailed and nice review. Could you please suggest me which one to buy 1. Canon g7x mark ii 2. Canon M50 3.canon 200d ii
If you are looking for 1080p 60fps then go for Canon m50 if you want a vlogging camera with no need of a microphone or additional equipment the go for Canon g7x ii
So good, Alicia!! I will be getting that exact entire set-up! And what a great host and presenter you are! Wonderful warmth and energy and connection - we'll see you on TV soon and then infinity and beyond!! Thanks again for everything you're doing!
i'm getting to know more about my M50 and loving it more right away because of you, i didn't know there's a sigma f1.4 best paired to M50, much thanks to you. love your video btw.
Excellent review, Alicia! Just one question. What make is your M50's wireless microphone? I like it because it is so discreet and as what you've said, it is not intimidating.
what a great video . I can't source the mini panel here in Australia. would the lume cube be ok you think if I'm mainly taking videos inside my house of my kids?
I had just recently decided to buy the M50 and the new Sigma lens when your channel popped up in my feed! Thank you for this information and for making it easy to understand. I am a new subscriber now!😊
Great videos...I was thinking about the M50 but ended up getting a DJI ozmo pocket and have been really happy with it...The small size doesn't draw much attention when I'm making my casino slot play videos....The m50 is still at the top of my list for mirrorless cameras...Thanks for the great content...
Nice! I bet the Osmo Pocket is great.. It would definitely be a great compliment to a larger camera too if you choose to get one in the future. Glad you enjoyed the video!
If you can hold the load of a phone with gimbal then is there any meaning to use light weight gimbal. you can use Ronin SC . If you flip your camera screen during vlogging it's doesn't effect the motor . It's works pretty well. over there it support gimbal button to record video. It's required less space in bag because you can separate the battery grip .
Really cool and informative video. Busy looking into a new vlogging setup so this has definitely helped put things in perspective. Thanks a mil - will definitely be checking out the M50.
Great video. I recently started thinking about replacing my m50 and even rented a camera. I realized my lil beast has been a workhorse and perfect for my channel. This breaths fresh air into my setup and a great recommendation.

Thanks Art! I do carefully consider each of these elements and what I need before making a decision. It's not the best camera in the world, but it's the most high-performing affordable option that's accessible to more people wanting to learn. I'm so curious about that dual stabilization though! Do you find it works as well as a gimbal for basic stabilization while walking around filming? Perhaps I will experiment with different camera brands and Micro 4/3rds one of these days 😄
@@AMAETV I think filming with dual lens stabilization is a great option, and there is no setup, no device to get in the way, and no *extra cost. The tests I've seen online eg. ua-cam.com/video/ptLggJ-Z65M/v-deo.html, seem to indicate as much. The catch is (there's always a catch) you'd need to invest in a camera and lens system, eg. Panasonic, that has a stabilized camera body and compatible stabilized lenses. *obviously cost of dual stabilization is included in the cost of the dual stabilized camera and lenses.
