I've been vlogging for 3 years but I've only used auto everything because I've never been able to wrap my head around ISO vs aperture vs shutter. Your video made it easier for me to understand and more encouraged to try practicing with my settings. Thanks! Super helpful!
Oh yes you'll be so glad to finally learn it! I remember first wrapping my head around it in college and how long it really took to grasp fully over the years. Great video very helpful. I assumed mine was set to NTSC when you said it and didn’t even check. Then once you went to the first options for video quality and FPS mine wasn’t like yours. I had to start the video over and follow you step by step lol. Thanks for the information

Great lesson however sometimes you go a bit too fast especially when you’re focusing in the camera menus... I have to stop and back up a lot.
For some reason the camera cannot focus on the LED display screen, so rather than long pauses on it I'm mostly giving the instructions verbally, and of course I created the PDF so you can easily follow along at your own pace 👍🏼 bit.ly/CANONM50SETTINGS

It’s the only way to keep up and saves backing up repeatedly.

But I think it's the best beginner's camera for youtube (aside from one's phone, and since I want to make makeup videos, I wanted a better option). I also convinced some rando to buy it too since he was also looking at cameras at Best Buy...

I’d consider auto settings for actual vlogging where you’re changing scenes. Manual exposure is great for scenes staying static but can get dicey elsewhere. Also cameras typically have a native ISO a few stops up from the lowest, so yes lower is better but lowEST is not always optimal. Thanks!
Interesting! Why are a few stops up better? And yes, you definitely have to be on your toes to maintain manual settings on the go!

About internal digital stabilisation, isn't that something that gets useful when you DON'T have a lens with picture stabilisation, like older Canon lenses (don't remember their prefix's)?

Yes I definitely can’t wait for the comparison video for the g7x and the m50 ! I had the m50 and just changed it for the g7x because I really wanted something easier to travel out with. Not sure if I did the best thing 😬 I wish I could have both !! Lol 😂

Question For the M50 what is the best setting for the picture style in the neutral settings for videos
Great informative video. Question. I bought the Canon M50 accessory kit for my new M50, which has the AC power adapter from Canon. But when I use the AC adapter I get a buzzing humm sound on my videos audio. I use a wired lapel mic. Any suggestions? Would a shotgun mic do away with the noise? Thanks
Yes I see you on the M 50 camera I almost went out and bought one immediately but it was a week later Yes I set up my camera so all the settings as described in your video would be great if we could have a small course on taking a video for our new UA-cam channel which I hope to start and complete very soon but mostly I am getting a lot of content together to make it more interesting and try to learn how to make the best of my M 50 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My one question is I can't get my info screen to look quite like yours-- it won't let me click on exposure/iso etc to change it-- I have to go into the main info screen where I lose the camera's image. How did you get it to display there?
Hmmm. Have you made sure that top dial on the camera is set to movie mode? This will make a difference in all of the menus and display screens. Otherwise, I think you may have skipped the step where you tap the upper left icon and set it to Manual Movie exposure.. not auto. Let me know if that helps!

hi, question.. If you're in Europe.. if you're in the USA > PAL/NTSC.. why would that make any difference? what does it mean "if you're in.." why would the place where you are be of any importance? what if you travel? i don't get it. For me, the choice between PAL/NTSC is a choice of FPS, not of the place where i'm in.

I saw you have all cameras I need I have Cannon M50 now. But i few big. Lol I should buy another one ? GoPro 7 or Cannon G7x will be better next for me. Please let me know which one easy to use for 3 baby’s. Lol
I customize the delete button to turn off the screen and of course stop the blocked viewfinder from turning it off. I don't forget to turn off the screen when using the viewfinder. I am used to it. About 1080p. It's more than enough. 4K is too sharp anyway for vlogging or talking head. My fave lens is the canon 22 ef-m f/2 stm.

No built in ND? I'm still sold, Merry Christmas to me :) Might need to also upgrade my gimbal, I currently use the smaller Crane-M with the MK II. Now I need to find your 'fav lens' for this camera video ;)

Photo settings are generally the same- except you want to speed up the shutter for less motion blur.
