I've been crushing on Susan Cowsill since the ol' "The Rain, the Park and Other Things" Days. Not for nothing... This version of "To Sir With Love" gives me goosebumps! I didn't think anyone could top Lulu, but, well, there it is!
You have expressed my sentiments about Susan Cowsill's live cover of Lulu's big hit exactly. Susan has made a live performance sound as excellent as a studio recording. And her rendition brought tears to my eyes!
YES THEY SHOULD I LIVE IN EUCLID I PROBABLY SHOULD ASK ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME IM 😅🤔😄🤣GOING TO TRY LOCATE THE COWSILLS THEY GREW UP IN MASSILLON OHIO JUST LIKE 👍ME THANK FOR YOUR INPUTE
@@paul1242 the r/r hall is a joke. The Monkees and the Cowsills should both be there. Both bands were the counterculture to the counterculture. When was the last time a New York Dolls song was played on the radio?
Art imitating life- Susan goes from bubbly kid singer to regal woman putting heart and soul into this music- written for her and all ducking girls growing up to be graceful swans.
Yes! Lulu did the ultimate fantastic version of this song thats been the gold standard for 50 plus years. Now Susan is belting it out of the park, so clear, so melodic, so inspiring! Those Cowsill kids are such a big part of American Music. wonder who is managing them?
Susan sings with such emotion. Her voice is absolutely beautiful. You know how good it is when it grabs you down deep inside and you have to hear it over and over. Lovely and SO talented.
Such an innocent time. When I was 10 living in Queens I met her oldest brother at our Appartment laundry and Bill sang Indian Lake and HAIR for me and my little brother! What a treat! Would love to met Susan. That was 1970ish
I've never heard the Cowsill´s treatment of this song before. They do an excellent job. Excellent musicianship and of course Susanś singing is impeccable as always. She still has that little girl's energy and innocent demeanor. What a sweetie.
I have been a fan of this lady all my life, she has still got what it takes, a lot of younger people laugh at boomers but her talent puts them all to shame!
Let 'em laugh....we have The Beatles...Stones...Dylan...Hendrix...and yes...the Cowsills! They have Cardi B... L'il Wayne... and Drake....we're the ones who should be laughing!!! I know I am!
I just watched the video of The Cowsills on Mike Douglas in 1970, Little Susan singing when I'm 64, And now watching this... Totally choked me up and have tears in my eyes. She is so good so beautiful and just so amazing! They all are, what a family!
If anybody still looks at this, Susan Cowsill is an angel...We saw all of them ( except the man I named my son after) in a dive in the San Fernando Valley and my wife, who has problems, was having an episode...Susan talked her down....And, yes..Billy taught you well...Easily the best vocals I have heard in years....God bless you Susan
Susan you sure do perform with heart. Wonderful voice, wonderful soul to keep your talent out here for folks to enjoy. God bless you for continuing to bring your family members back together in the present and honoring the memories of those that have gone too soon. The music was and still is outstanding. The Cowsills deserve a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony right now, and should have been there decades ago.
Before this I saw them do a contemporary, live rendition of "Hair" in which they included an extra verse. They don't just parrot 45-rpm singles, they must study the songs they perform and give their fans the rewards of their research.
I'm listening to this in tears. I've followed the Cowsills, and have been a Cowsill loyalist since 1967, when I was 12 years old. They've just gotten better and better and better, and bigger in my heart over the years. I like this much better than the original by Lulu. Susan is just phenomenal as a person and a musician. And if you've never heard it-- listen to The Cowsills CD called "Global" from 1998! It's outstanding, stupendous, incredible and phenomenal--and reveals the talent of the Cowsills like you've never heard them!
A great sounding voice, and she sings the melody. So many women these days sing around the melody. Bending the note every which way. My two favorite female singers right now are Susan Cowsill, and Johnette Napolitano, from Concrete Blonde. Both incredible voices, and they sing the melody. Melody is important. It's what makes a song memorable.
I have to come here sometimes to hear her sing this. I can't come very often because it is so emotional for me, this song, and her. It's because she is a very special person. I see a person with a heart of gold and when she sings, all the goodness you could ever imagine a person having shows from her.
Susan is a very underrated singer..what a treasure she is
That for sure
You aren't KIDDING!!!!!!!! On BOTH points.
VERY underrated.
Susan not only sounds great she's freaking hot!

the way she sings that song brings a rush of more innocent times.
She always had a great singing voice.
Susan Cowsill Can Sing!!!!! This is in the original key!! Wow!!!!
She can sing this LIVE in such a way…
I don’t think I have heard someone so soulful in a long, long time!!
Love you Girl!!!
I have seen alot of young ladies sing this song here. But, to me, this is by far, the best version sung by a very special young lady.
Yeppers!
I 100% AGREE!
Is it just me, or did it look like she was tearing up near the end? I don't know how people can sing such touching songs without doing it.
She obviously loved Lulu's original. Very faithful to the original vocal emphases. Excellent and very enjoyable rendition.
Absolutely!! VERY good
The Cowsills are the real deal. They've been doing this since they were kids! They should be in the R&R Hall Of Fame.....NOW!!!!!!!
Such an underrated group... they should be in the Rock and roll Hall of Fame.
If Johnny Cash said they were the most talented family group you know that they must have (and are) the best.

Wow, Susan really belted it out. Really enjoyed it! Well done! 👏👏👏👏
she's 60 here..........pretty damn amazing!!!!!!

I loved her as a kid in the 60's...today I'm 64... and still love her! Such an amazing talent and she's only gotten more beautiful with age!
Yup !
❤
Susan. So sublime!
Such a great voice.. She hasn't lost a thing over the years!... She hit this one right on the head!
Great. Love how she stays true to the original melody.
Susan sounds and looks like she was really connected with the words and emotion of that song, not just "covering" it. She is so great.
What a rare treat, this cover by Susan is excellent. Lulu would be proud. Love you Cowsills!
Lulu did such a great job on this I didn't think I was going to really like this. Susan is truly great.
^^Exactly what I was thinking.^^
I agree lol
Very beautiful spiritual musician

Susan sings with such emotion. Her voice is absolutely beautiful. You know how good it is when it grabs you down deep inside and you have to hear it over and over. Lovely and SO talented.
Thank you Susan for the great music and keeping the Cowsills alive for us fans!!!! You still sound fantastic!!!!
The Cowsill's deserve a lot more credit than is given by the critics.

When I saw this video, I saw the sweetest, most precious young lady I had ever seen or talked to in my life.
Wow.. what a great version! Thanks.
What a voice. Susan...still as cute as she was when she was younger.
you got that right!
This version has a bittersweet quality that elevates it over the Lulu original.
Beautiful girl with a beautiful voice.
I've always loved this song, Susan really does it justice - great job!
One of the greatest songs in history and she delivered extraordinary well.
Susan is a great singer and cute to go with it love her.
BRAVO BRAVO Susan 👏 🙌
She still has a great voice.
Susan Cowsill has really surprised me. I had no idea she had such a strong and beautiful voice!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Just a beautiful cover sung by a beautiful woman. They haven’t lost a smudge of their talent.
This was special. So true to the original, yet Susan adds such an emotional layer to a classic. Can't say enough. Amazing.
First time hearing her do this. LOVE IT! GO SUSAN! Love the Cowsills at 64!!
The brothers are looking down from heaven so proud of Paul, Bob and Susan. I love The Cowsills 💜. Thank you for posting FabBeatGirl 🌻
Susan has always been an excellent singer. Really special lady.
An excellent cover of a great song. Susan nailed it and you can see the emotion in her face and hear it in her voice.

Great tune for her
Well said TBird!
@@annabellem.4014 You got it
Righteous rendition!
Talented Family ❤❤
I dont think we give her the credit she deserves. She can really sing well on her own. Closest to Lulu I've heard.

Susan…. You crushed that song.
She is very cute and a great singer
Didn’t think anyone could touch this song but Lulu! Wow!
Susan is such a natural. Amazing.
Great song well performed.
Love that she added the rarely done extra verse. Great job! She still sounds "fab".
Before this I saw them do a contemporary, live rendition of "Hair" in which they included an extra verse. They don't just parrot 45-rpm singles, they must study the songs they perform and give their fans the rewards of their research.
Thoroughly enjoyed this performance. Excellent!
Beautiful! Susan and her brothers are American treasures 💕

Wow - Susan nailed this song! ❤
Great performance.
When she flashes her eyes I can still see that little girl singing with her mom and brothers in the 60s
