I was at the Toronto concert and it was absolute perfection and unforgettable. The gentleman standing beside me (no one sat!!) was from Philadelphia. “I’m really proud of them as a group. The reason the overall sound is so good is because all of them are such terrific players. In fact, I have a little joke to myself; I probably wouldn’t get into this band if it wasn’t my group.” - Jeff Lynne
@@aliceshade6031 When classical musicians are involved they can work from charts because they can read music. I remember a friend of mine having a girlfriend who ws a classically-trained pianist. She told me she could play a piece just from reading the sheet music and I challenged her by picking a music-book from the shelf and opening it at a random page. She proceeded to play it there and then and it was a fairly complicated sounding piece. She apologised afterwards for her sloppy rendition but it sounded incredible to me! I bet Jeff Lynne gave the string players charts of his arrangements and they got it together fairly quickly. What a gift to have!
There simply ain't words appropriate enough to describe how damn good band E.L.O. is. In my opinion it is by far the best pop/rock band ever. Jeff is simply put a modern Mozart, the original band was an assembly of top musicians, same as these new folks that play with him today. A band with absolutely no weak spot and by far the most underrated in the history of music. Watching this video brought tears to my eyes for several reasons. First they reminded me of my childhood, second I am so bloody sorry I wasn't on this gig (they never toured my country either and I'll never understand why) and enjoyed together with these 60k happy and positive people and last but not least - this kind of music has gone forever and has been replaced by nowadays shame they call "music". Still, concerts like this, tube videos and our private collections will keep these living legends from oblivion. They will remain my favorite band of all times until the day I go to the mr. Blue Sky. Dear Jeff & co. thank you for marking my earliest childhood and leaving us countless unforgettable and unbeatable songs which nowadays "stars" can only dream of making. God bless 'ya & love from Belgrade, Serbia! As for those who hit dislike option.... well... not worth any comment but pity.

All his live concerts sound as good if not better than the original recordings...Not many bands and musicians can match that. Just have a listen from Jeff Lynne's ELO at Wembley Stadium June 24 2017. Jeff Lynne's ELO 2019 Tour will focus on the US and Canada for several fantastic Concerts...I just bought Jeff Lynne's ELO Wembley or bust which is a fantastic concert on DVD-Blueray or CDs. Long live Jeff Lynne's Electric Light Orchestra...
I was at the Toronto concert and it was absolute perfection and unforgettable. The gentleman standing beside me (no one sat!!) was from Philadelphia. Toronto was the only place in North America that he could get a ticket and he said would have gone anywhere to see the show. It was by far the best concert that I have ever been to.
@@annefowlie1241 Cool story. I am from Montreal and went to NYC in 2016, Toronto in 2018 and 2019 to see Jeff and his fantastic musicians. Let's hope we will see him Touring in 2022.
Jeff Lynne has to be one of the most underrated talents of all time.
He is not underrated. He is the one of the best. It is absolutely known. 🙂
Amen.
I think he is one of the best composers and musicians in the last decades.
Saying he's under rated only displays your lack of musical knowledge mate, sorry.
And author of original music....
What kind of person gives a thumbs down to such wonderful music and these great people performing it? SMH!!!
WELL KIDS,IM 76 WHATEVER THE HELL THAT IS! HERE IN 2022! THIS IS TIMELESS JUST LIKE ROCK N ROLL! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️😎 KEEP ON ROCKIN!
Rosie Langley a pure genius with a violin Jeff Lynne pure masterclass musician elo will live on in my life. Thank you keep going on
“I’m really proud of them as a group. The reason the overall sound is so good is because all of them are such terrific players. In fact, I have a little joke to myself; I probably wouldn’t get into this band if it wasn’t my group.” - Jeff Lynne
Because they all had major talent. No auto-tune BS for that orchestra...
Lauretta Roper .... With Jeff being very humble about his own talents 😁😁
One of the greatest,l am 79.M.W.Spain.
A modest genius Mr Lynne.
What a band , when your songs are over 30 years old and still sound fresh new and make people sing and dance . The legend that is E L O 😃😃
Try more like 50 years old!
NOW THIS IS REAL MUSIC !!!
This music is of epic proportion, it reaches your senses and your soul in such a big way. Long live Jeff Lynne's ELO! Please Tour in 2021-2022!!!!
ELO, is a top chill bump, rock band, all I remember is my friend , John brought over an album I the late 70's, I'm 64 now they still give me emotionally charged feelings, like they're the hope 🙏 of the world 🌎 sound 🔉, thanks JEFF LYNNE AND ELO!!!
I'm 55 & feel the exact same way...I just "Can't get Them Out of my Head".
E.L.O. what more can you say perfection at it's extreme limits . I feel sorry for the younger generation who missed out of 40 years plus of these masters . Cheers from Down Under in Australia
I have followed the ELO for years, when very few listened to them .just magic
Just awesome,im a fan because my my mum was a fan,she saw you guys in the 70's❤️❤️❤️
Its in the faces of the crowd how much love they have for these amazing songs and how good the musicianship is,
Epic! From 1972 to 1986 Jeff Lynne's Electric Light Orchestra has had more top 40 hits than any other groups in the world. 50 years later they still play in sold out Arenas and Stadiums. I just saw them in Toronto July 18 2019 ( Best Concert of my life) All the reviews agree they are the best live act in the world and Jeff Lynne is a Music Genius. They are in the Rock Hall of Fame. Lynne is on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame and Birmingham Walk OF Fame. Jeff Lynne’s ELO won the Best Classic Rock Band plus Lynne won the best Song Writer award ( ASCAP ) 2019 for his fantastic contribution over the years. The Legends in the Music Industry call Jeff Lynne the best overall Musician ever and a Producer Extraordinaire. Long live Jeff Lynne’s ELO!
Jeff Lynne - give him a Knighthood NOW! Wembley concert was an absolute corker - the best! Sounds like Toronto was equally as good! Can't wait for him to come to Australia! What a man and what a band!
I was lucky to see them back in 70's and yes they even sound as good today
This is just perfection, truly and the ladies on the strings, you ROCK!
Been a fan since the 70s, and I got to see ELO two weeks ago in Chicago- Jeff is 76 years old and they were fantastic!
Idk if this is my favorite ELO song, but the violinist makes it my favorite video
Rosie Langley is her name
I love how Rosie smiles about 2 or 3 seconds in, when the crowd recognizes the song.
Rossie smile would melt any man !!!!!
Such a great song. Elo still stands the test of time. The entire band is so talented. The backup singers are incredible. Just awesone
Yeah they are pretty incredible!
Amazing how music can make you happy, and ELO does just that. Absolutely superb! Been listening to them for 45 years and never get tired of this band. Good as ever- maybe even better!
So refreshing and beautiful to watch....all the people so happy
Their music is unbelievably amazing.
Each instrument is a star in their own right. You can hear the drums, piano, bass, guitars, cellos and violin shine in their own right. Jeff Lynne is the most talented musical composer ever. His music appeals to groups of all ages. This man is simply amazing.
Yes, yes, yes 👍😊
Absolutely.
I turned 57 this year. I still have my T-shirt from the "77 summer tour in the States. I was a Sophomore in High School. Wow! Hearing and seeing this video takes my old ass back to when I was young kid in High School. Jeff Lynn as done a fantastic job of maintaining the ELO sound! I don't want to be a High School kid again - I just want to keep jamming to ELO!
Jamming with you Sonny at 54 👍😊
Lord Rosie is so damn beautiful and her talent is out of this world along with the whole band. Jeff is truly a genius in all aspects of showmanship. Thanks for this particular upload showcasing Rosie~!!
How magic is this? Absolutely perfect music, happy musicians and happy audience wherever you look. It also brings a smile into my heart & into my face. Can't get enough of it. Thank you Jeff Lynne, thank you ELO!
I was a classically trained violinist and loved playing along to this on my stereo and driving my dad mad😂
I'm 71 and I still love his music love all of them especially Rock and Roll Is King and Mr Blue Sky and I still have a those fabulous record albums.
They always say music keeps you young and Jeff is proof of that! Amazing performance ! Thanks for sharing this!
Those are, without a doubt, the sexiest looking string section (violin and cellos) I've ever seen. Where on Earth did he find such beauty and talent in one group?!? Wow. Hats off to Jeff Lynne. The guy knows where to find talent! Great music to boot!
They are very easy on the eyes. Rod Stewart has the same ability to find that kind of talent.
Amazing as ever !!!!!! My all time favorite band ....... EVER !!!!! He seems to get better as time goes on !!!!
His live tour is every bit as good as his studio albums because he brings his studio with him. Strings, backup vocals, bass, keyboards - all normally done on separate tracks in studio are all here live! Perfection.
Absolutely! Getting this close to the original mix is also the magic of post-production re-mixing and fixing mistakes after the fact in the studio.
Correct. Most of the orchestral parts you're hearing are not being played there live.
@@mashzmash Wrong! Jeff Lynne absolutely refuses to use back tracks in the mix when performing live. I've seen them perform and they play 100% live absolutely no mixing with backtrack included during their concerts.
@@vegaslimoguy2376 okay, yeah. upon closer inspection, I think the keys are playing a strings patch on top of them and that's what I was picking up on
There is something unusual about this moment of MUSIC history - the total harmony, happiness and shear TALENT on display. Plus the magnitude of the setting - and the back-story. THANKS !!!!!
Jeff Lynne's ELO Please Tour in 2020! The world needs you!
They are touring but no America dates yet :(
I know I do!
Elo supera a cualquier banda en el mundo. No le dieron el reconocimiento , que merecían . El tremendo aporte a la música en el mundo. Los admiro, son únicos...Jeff es un genio, sin igual. Gracias por subir este video. Saludos!!
i was there , brilliant ..... even now 5 and half years later , sends shivers through me .
I wish I had been alive when they came on the scene. Look at those folk in the audience...so HAPPY! I'm 40, so missed it but still grew up listening to it
My very first concert i attended was ELO in Toronto Canada 1977
Great memories
