One helpful tip. Getting the Erdtree's Favour +2 Talisman is pretty easy if you use Assassin's Gambit, as it allows you to get to the talisman without agrooing the monsters there.
If you enter the area fro the direction of the forbidden lands, go doen the staircase and then take an immediate left and stay close to the wall on your left hand side you can reach the talisman without aggroing as well!
Or equiping Black Knife chest piece works
Or just show up with no runes and not worry about dying.
Best build videos by far. Excellent editing, pacing, music, narration. I've beaten this game 6 times 100%. Put in over 550 hours. I don't really look for new builds. But I still watch these fantastic videos. Thank you for these!
One thing that can’t be understated is how you are able to innovate a playthrough every single time. Wether it be boss order with a reason behind it , or where we are going, what we equip.
I’ve played through NG+ and it just felt like a normal playthrough except I was really OP.
But your take on this makes it feel like an entirely new experience.
You’ve got such a cinematic eye and taste for creating a narrative man , you are a great story teller and it really transcends this game alone

You've done builds themed around rennala, radahn, mohg and now maliketh. Now I'm curious about a malenia themed build. A waterfowl and/or scarlet rot build would be neat to see you make work as I always felt waterfowl was a lackluster art once I got it myself. Just throwing it out there.

Yeah, you have to put a lot of work in to make Waterfoul work for the player. But with all 3 consecutive attack boosting Talismans/Tear and Shard of Alexander it is actually decent.
A Malenia run is a lot of fun. Waterfowl hits like a truck with the right setup, and Scarlet Aeonia is a fun nuclear option for starting or ending fights.65 dex, 40 faith (I use the urdtree talisman) 40 vigor, 25 focus, 20 strength & endurance will set you up nicely. Malenia's gear, a buckler (she parries you when you fight her), winged sword, millicent's prothesis, godskin's swaddling, and taker's cameo will kit you out. Use Malenia's greatrune, and mix your flask for poise and successive attacks. Taker's is your flex slot for boss fights. If you want to be super cheeky, keep a Iron Skin perfume flask in you pocket to face tank your way to a full Waterfowl combo.

@@lordptk4115 its not bad at all, charged r2s to break stance then hit a waterfowl and things die fast. Scarlet Aeonia also can work wonders if your comfortable with the timing on bosses

For malenia, if you want to use the light roll approach, I’d recommend to grab the winged crystal tear for 3 minutes of light rolling as it gives +450% equip load
Im not a big fan of cosplay runs, but THIS ONE is amazing !

Ng+ is easy for the first time but you really start to see how the difficult ramp up as you keep doing more and more runs
Maliketh's armor is drip, combining it with his Black Blade and Incantation is just gorgeous to watch, I'm adding this to my Faith/Strength build ASAP!
Gonna have to make my first trip into NG+ and give this a go! Masterful editing and narration as usual! Keep up it man!

Just a slight critique, why are you using clawmark seal? The black blade incantation is an ERDTREE incantation, meaning it is buffed by the erdtree seal. If you use the right talismans and tears, you can pretty easily make it hit for almost 5k damage per swing

I fought horah loux once and used black blade at a distance to doge his phase transition since theres 2 jumps on the black blade combo you can dodge both shockwaves and retaliate. It was sick

After ALL of your videos, this is the first time I've fully understood the Ordina skip, for anyone else like me: you jump twice at 12 and then at the height of the 2nd jump, point towards 7 to land in that direction. Thank you Thingfishy :)
Ah, NG+! I love NG+. At this point I feel like NG is too much like work… so many items to get, so much junk to farm… but NG+ is great. You just do the fights you want and get the items you want and ignore the grinding. It is really good once you get to the point where enemies stop leveling (NG7+) because then you can do math for the damage again. While the difficulty is scaling it is sort of hard to know what to expect in a fight. You can stop leveling or keep leveling as you like, I’ve found anything over 150 to be comfortable enough even for a mediocre player like myself.
I personally do a cracked out Maliketh Faith/Strength Build, 80 and 80 on strength and faith (I’m a sucker for damage) and duel wield 2 Black Blades, Black Knife Dagger for range, and the Beast talisman (forgot the name) that scales with strength
New Game+ scaling is so bad. Since its just percent increase the early and mid game are a joke even all the way up to NG+7. But once you get to Mountaintops in NG+ 4 and onwards its rough, everything 2 shots you at 60vig haha

For the farm part, if you want to save a larval tear you can use:
Faith tear + holy tear + holy scorpion charm + godefry icon + shard of alexander
With +9 sword at 25 faith it will still oneshot them even on NG+.
Week 1 of asking thingfishy to do a 165/165 boss clear with darkmoon greatsword level capping at 125

It took my around 28-30 hours to get everything and beat the game with your bonk build, I saw this maliketh build and used it last night I’ve played about 2 hours 30 mins - 3 hours and I’m already at maliketh

Not sure if you know this by now but you can just jump over the stomp attacks. That includes the Crucible Knight stomps.
Also there's no need for the faith tear if your faith is already 99
You should’ve put more points into mind considering this build relies on the weapon art and incantation
Hello thingfishy, I want to express how amazed and flashed I am by your high quality, awesome intro cinematics. I cant imagine the amount of work and dedication to this rate of perfection it requires to put them together, even syncing your attack animations with the drums of the music. You are just so good at this. I love watching these intros as well as being grateful for the guides being shown to me in such a pleasuring way. Nothing but love & respect for your work my fellow tarnished.
I've always prefered playing around in NG+ or higher in Fromsoft games. Just because I can get both versions of Boss gear. Or have a spare one of a kind weapon to play with.

My experience is that ER's NG+ is the easiest of the Fromsoft games. I think it catches up in higher cycles. Not sure though.
NG+ is pretty easy up until you get to the absolute lategame.
I started mine at level 170. Started to struggle some at concentrated snowfields.
Now I'm at NG3 and level 260 😊
One thing i do like however is that I can actually still die from the first mobs and bosses if i missplay
I haven't even finished the first playthrough and level 210 dex intel build with malenia hand of malenia/moonveil nagakiba build
In response to your question around Goldfrey: yes, NG+ is pretty easy. I did a run with Eleonora's Poleblade and all of the multi-hit damage talismans and Physick, that cut through everything except Elden Beast like piss through snow. New Game cycles don't start getting properly tough until much later, when bosses get into true one-shot range, no matter how long your healthbar is.
Also, since you get very far into the game without doing this: upgrading your Mind stat is surprisingly powerful, allows you to just cast your spells and Ashes of War more often.
He has always been my favorite character in this big story of a game and I always keep on black blade drip but also to add the black knife for more death build and it's weird he don't have his on incantations and that last death blade image after u beat him y couldn't that be a blade
What is the reasoning behind Flocks Faithful Talisman instead of Sacred Scorpion Charm? In your Blasphemous Blade build you ran both Radagons and Fire Scorpion for -25%. In this build you run Dragoncrest so with Sacred Scorpion you would be at +10% physical damage negation. Is the 10% that necessary to give up the 12% flat increase to ALL holy damage versus 8% for Black Blade only?

If you wanted to make this more broken, you could use the black knife to stack the destined death effect
I appreciate keeping with the thematic of the build and not playing 'normally' unless you needed to. It would be cool to build character narratives into the playthrough as well, or even go after different endings depending on the character you cosplay, to keep in character and add more diversity to the runs. Though it's kind of a shame only Ranni's is an 'interesting' questline in terms of bosses (and outright required for All Remembrance Runs) and its already intertwined with Fia's. I don't know, maybe a Lord of Chaos build for thematic.
And good call using stuff like Dragoncrest Talisman for more tank on your first NG+. I half expected a glass cannon like Maliketh himself. Look forward to more.

Once you have strength and faith at 50 it would be more useful to put the rest of your levels into fp

I think it'd be cool if you did a playthrough completing as many of the NPC sidequests as possible, I'm personally still learning characters had longer sidequests than I thought.

As an RP player this is such a rush for me playing as Maliketh.Realising that was looking for Marika and taking the Journey to restore the Elden Ring and Marika.
I used a very similar build for NG+ because BB is so damn OP with a strength/faith build. NG+ isn’t that hard really, but even for some tanky enemies like the Omens in the sewers (who can be brutal for some builds) it just shreds in a couple hit combos.

Honestly, new game + runs are just really forgiving, at the very least until you get past leyendell, if not for the whole run.

I don't know whether to be impressed or massively annoyed by how easy you make the Caelid Night's Cav cheese look every time.
I can't even get to that second bridge section consistently, and have never once managed to get him to yeet himself off like you do Every Single Time ._. Its beyond frustrating, especially after killing Greyoll on this run and putting a load of levels into End/Str and not Str/Dex, because apparently what the hell are eyes?!
If there's one thing I hate in this game is my attacks getting interrupted and with Black Blade you will get interrupted a ton, if you're someone like me then just play Savage Lion's Claw & Guts greatsword or the weaker version of Lion's Claw, not to mention you can get both Guts greatsword and Lion's Claw fairly early, it's just net superior to any other strength build I have played.
Love your cool builds! I've had hours of fun just trying them out, and it has inspired me to make my own. One of the best ways to keep the game refreshing as opposed to just doing pvp and ng+ over and over again.
well. i am tired of fighting Hoarah. defeated together with his daughter, with my twin bro and with some mates from net. i do not have time to spend hours on learning each of his moves. it may be a good occupation for utubers or unemployed but not me. boring game and I spend too much time on it. other games with a plot more deep than a scenario of a porn movie awaits. if you can buy it for 10$, i would go 4 it. otherwise u'd better invest your money in the game Thingfishy advertises in the background. i decided to not buy any souls like game until they improve hitbox, plots, perforation of hits between foes, graphics, add save points, add difficulty levels, keep up with a map at least as good as in the late 90's. their developers suck. i am tired being hit through the walls, AI cheating (vision thu objects, input reading, limitless stamina or mana bar). i wait for some choice of rides, better graphics engine (damage on armor, etc.), more armors with skills than fashion wise. game not worth its price same as Wo Long. i have a request: can you fight him for 30' to check whether he still uses any mana consuming skills? why mine run out and not his?

So I'm a newbie that's just about ready to complete my first run-through (I just unlocked the Mountain Tops of the Giants). Could you clarify that somber and smithinng stones don't respond in NG+?
Yeah I really wish fromsoft would properly test and tune bosses for new game plus runs. After 100 hours in my first playthrough completing everything I was excited for new game plus but once I experienced how easy it was I lost all motivation and hardly play it since.
What about Elden Ring's hardest boss? I can't believe you would forget him, 0/10 smh... HOW COULD YOU FORGET THE SOLDIER OF GODRICK!?!?

Surprisingly enough I beat ER for the first time at lvl 111
About 19:30 you ask if NG+ is just that easy? It really is. Until after Morgott enemies still aren't scaled to you and so their health and damage just won't be a problem regardless of damage negation.
Sacred scorpion charm with 40 str / 60 fth will get you 990 ar at an earlier level, and if you want, takers Cameo helps with trades when your roaming the non boss areas.

I always have 30 end, even for casters. Don’t know why everyone thinks that’s a bad thing. I get more rolls, more attacks, more sprint. Don’t have to manage stamina that much.

These are my favorite ER build videos on UA-cam. I hate when people throw around the word "best" for anything they love, but this channel does so many things right that I don't really follow any other builds anymore. You have a special talent with these games and videos, fishy.
10:01 - Poor Alexander dedicates his entire life to becoming a warrior only to die to some tarnished spamming waves of gold at him. Can't imagine how his character would have felt as he died.
Next build is godfrey build new game plus or maybe godrik build ??? Either will be a great video especially godfrey
