(If that's an option) It seems like you even have come 'blue hands' and Reaver-like crazies out there... Also, did Skyrim and Mass Effect have a baby?🤔🤣
Something I REALLY need to know about lore (as video subject suggestions) is how many people got off Earth? Second... WHY would ANYONE settle on a planet with 1.5g and the deadliest animals since Austrailia? I NEED to know these. The game has taught me nothing on this yet.

I love the realism this game goes for with trying to make this a very believable future for life in space. So much of this is exactly how it would go if humanity expanded into the galaxy. Most planets would be barren wastelands, life would be rare and any we do find would be wildlife level intelligence, etc. Of course with some good fiction sprinkled around to heighten excitement. This is exactly what I've wanted out of space games, a depiction of realistic space.
@@jasutinborchert4418 in your opinion. Just because everything isn’t seemless and doesn’t meet your wildly fantastic expectations does not mean it’s not “realistic”
@@gemjarv so the fact that you can’t move sideways, or up/down, despite having VTOL and maneuvering thrusters, is realistic? Or that moving to the left activates the left maneuvering thrusters instead of the right ones?

I mean, imagine how much of a slog the game would have been if you not only had to fly everywhere, but had to do it with realistic space sim controls. I bet you’d get bored a lot faster than you think. (Coming from someone who plays Flight Sim and other sim games as my main genre, I can’t imagine how much more time this game would require if you had to do all that shit.)
I'm glad the waiting isn't in vain, Starfield is looking very good! If Starfield is this good, I have high hopes for TES VI and it will be worth the wait, as was Starfield.
I clocked 140 hours with the review copy and I feel like I barely scratched the surface while also never getting bored. Regardless of whether space is your jam or not, it’s truely impressive
@@kobked-xAt least Starfield is a real game. Star Citizen is just a scam that suckers and saps fall for and defend. Go buy another ship for 100 bucks that you never get.
Despite all the negativity and bad reviews the game gets I am exceptionally glad I decided to see for myself and I can't stop enjoying the universe of Starfield. The game is extremely detailed and the developers really dedicated themselves to the project. Don't listen to bad reviews and targetted negativity, most of the negative reviews come from people that want to be a part of 'the anti-hype' by automatically siding with the toxic playerbase. Download and play the game for yourself first. It has an unparalelled scale, depth and immersive AF. A very well balanced blend of enjoyable gameplay with a commendable nod to a simulation (without the technicalities and complexity of a full blown simulation-game). And naturally, mods. If some part isn't to your taste - mod it. Once modded - this is a phenomenal experience.
It is beyond exciting to have you cover this game. The fact you were given a review copy gives me great joy! (T-minus 7 years until you're given a review copy of TES6, eh?)

I'm _actually interested now._ This is all of the stuff about the setting that I wanted to know during the lead-up to this game -- back when Bethesda would literally only tell us _"it's a game that's set in space."_ Just knowing that humanity was forced to leave Earth because of the collapse of the magnetosphere is a huge plot hook. It gets me invested in the setting. It's _actually something._ Thanks.
Thanks a ton for this vid! I’m loving the game, but trying to sus out the pre-game lore can be daunting with everything else happening in game. This really does set the universe of Starfield spinning for me and it also give’s even more weight to every action I take in game. Thanks again Camel!

3 Months after release this video needs an addendum and some corrections to the timeline of events. The central mystery of Starfield remains unresolved. Who built the artefacts and associated structures? Barret's experience of first contact with an artefact was gained from a second artefact he discovered, not the one he found in the Constellation archive. Someone else had touched that previously.
