This pedal was made for bass. Guitar demos have not hit me this hard.
and synths!
oh and deffinatly drum machines + the DFAM, insane industrial beats
This pedal sounds so much better on bass
In your personal opinion...
I’m a local bassist and handed over my debit card within the first 2 minutes I played this pedal! The blend feature is what sold me. Neither the dry or dirt blend obscured each other and the bass presence is massive with no loss of low end! Not the most versatile distortion unit but for what it does, which is that buzz cutting saturating crunch, this thing far excels beyond many pedal brands.
nice to hear some original sounds. a bit tired of the same "colour" of Darkglass everywhere
I love Darkglass, because they sound great! I refuse to play them because EVERYBODY does! I'm looking for cool pedals to rebuild my rig. This one fits the ticket!
@@ravencalhoun6467 Majority of metal players play a 6505....still my fav amp
This pedal is so fit to Muse Riffs!
I'm planning on saving up for this anyway but with you using it on bass, makes me want it even more
Absolutely sick pedal. Great demo!
So fucking sick dude. I’ve been hoping to hear a solid bass review. Thank You!
Killer video, you hit the stops needed!!! Love too check it out!!! Happy New Year's!!!
WOW!!! Sounds MONSTER with bass! Who da thought? Great review guys.
"This is the 'voltage' knob, which you can think of as being 'like gain"...it controls *current*..."
Engineer is banging his fucking head on his desk and the marketing dude is like "nailed it."
My heart goes out to you.
We could form a group:
The Wattage Resistance
Awesome demo of this pedal guys. I'm damn near close to pulling the trigger.
i love that intro bass line
Just ordered one of these as there getting harder to come across and temptation got the better of me :)
Aaaargh got to wait ten days as there’s none in stock
It certainly looks cool.
Awesome pedal!
OMG I WANT IT SO MUCH ❤️
Yeah. I'm gonna buy it.
Ooo this is a very cool pedal, sounds filthy and looks great! Might have to invest now, but damn the price 😮😮
I'm sold!
I LIKE IT!!!
This thing seems to sount a whole lot better on bass than it does on guitar.
The blend control seems to really help it
Would love to hear with a OC2
I can tell u that’s a YES!
Thanks for the great review would you please how's the sound was recorded?
Own it, selling it. It's great but highly unpractical, it kind of just does one sound and you can vary how much of that one sound is there. Oh and other pedals hate it and it decimates tone. Sounds awesome....Unless on a pedalboard.
As a former lighting scientist, this is cool as hell. Unfortunately your audience can't see it, they can only hear it, and for me I'd rather have a more conventional fuzz tone. I can see this being useful once in a blue moon for something super extreme though. Cool stuff Gamechanger!
They debuted a new rack unit of this at NAMM! Same fuzz plus additional EQ options and effects to pile on, plus a double size plasma tube for your audience to see =0)
Holy shit!!!
wow you get a lot of the bass and clean signal but still adds a cool effect on top! where can i get more info on the silver jazz bass? what bridge is that?
That's a babicz full contact bass bridge. Awesome bridges btw
That bass was given away to one of our Patreon supporters, but it’s a Squier Classic Vibe with the Babicz bridge, as mentioned above. It’s also got Aguilar noiseless pickups, Hipshot tuners with the Xtender key for quick drop D tuning, and an ObsidianWire Electronic Kit.
@@TheBassChannel thanks for the reply. WOW that bridge costs a lot of money
@@BassRacerx it's worth every penny. I have one on 3 of my basses. Sustain for days. ..
If I sell one of my basses that I don’t use I’m getting this pedal. Most I’ve spent on one
Is this better than the duality darkglass oedal?
My use case for this pedal: As a prank for other bassists. Plug a cable away from their pedal board behind their cab and hide this pedal switched on before he starts.
🤘🤘🤘👌
Nice attempt at gaining some control over Distortion/Fuzz tones for Bass!...I guess if you play a lot of Metal and the like ,..it’s worth the investment...I’ll bet its quakes killer on a decent Amp & 4-10/1-15~18 Speaker combos!!!..🎙are you ready to rumble?..🎶🔊))))👍🏾
On the opening clip (green bass), the signal cuts out at one point. Is that the pedal, or just the video? Thanks for this great share. I've got one on my immediate wishlist!
It might have been a glitch in UA-cam. I just watched it again and saw no issue.
@@TheBassChannel I've still got it. Same spot each time, but if you say the pedal isn't cutting out, I trust you. Thanks!
whats the bridge on the SG?
Babicz Full Contact Hardware
No review for the EHX sovtek?
We haven’t received one yet.
Sounds like it rather ad some electric arc effect noise to the bass natural sound than anything else...
Remind Zvex woolly mammoth
Distortion on bass is really not my thing. I think it makes the bass sound weak. However, there are times when it can be used effectively, and this pedal has some really interesting quirks that I like.
There's a loss of low-end on lots of distortions with bass, but there's no loss with this pedal which is nice.
So it's basically a gated fuzz with an interesting look.
Idk, I guess the tone could be cool in industrial music? Not really my style though. I tried one out in a local music shop and there's a kind of "sputter" at low inputs that turned me off from it.
Yep, if you want your bass to sound like it's jamming with a jackhammer, this is for you.
O sheet
Dang, I wanna hear it at 0 voltage..
It just ends up not having any output, needs to be up a bit for signal to get through :)
Sounds like an 8-bit demon fart
It’s a Tesla Coil in a box ...
Actually there's another effect called 'plasma coil'.
Too mudy
Cool, but one trick pony.
Wow! That sounds terrible.
Sorry, this pedal will never be used on any of my guitars or basses. It sounds awful
Don't use it, then.
Such a loss.
100% agree ! it's just a "noise" pedal. Seems like people are more impressed with light fx on their pedals than the sound it provides. A "no-go" for me, that would be totally wasted money.
@@RenoLaringo listen to the Royal blood song "boilermaker" , in the right hands, anything can sound amazing!
@@fanieldox WOW you're damn right ! It sounds amazing in this mix. Thank you for the link mate ! Not sure I could use it myself given the music I play , but it's definitely not as bad as in my first impressions.
Why in the he'll would anyone want their bass to sound like any of this...👎
Why not?? Sounds like King Kong belched and rip guitarists heads off
im sayin bro
sounds like a long fart
I would alone or with an envelope filter, chorus/phaser, and an octaver. Betcha it belts synth goodness when filtered. FWIW, I like the filth too. 👍
never alone
but i feelin it with a filter
Sounds like torn speaker cones to me..but hey, whatever floats your boat
Sounds fucking awful!
Sounds like crap.
