I play a Rat thur both my Orange lunch boxes and it isn't very doomy. You need to mix in a fuzz of some sort to get that real doomy sound. I mix distortion and fuzz to get a chuggy fuzz. I suggest a Big muff mixed with your Rat.
I think there needs to special considerations for declaring a fuzz to be chuggable. I can make a hyper fuzz chug with a little bit of gating and some pre and post eq pedals.
This is a pedal to add character to other stuff in your signal chain. If I was a professional giging musician and I won the lottery (instead of a Home Studio rat) a Helix Rackmount and the Plasma rackmount would probably make an apperance along with every Gamechanger pedal. We can’t forget Third Man Records collabs as they too would be somewhere because a lot of them are hard, if not impossible to model properly. I want a Helix or Quad Cortex, even a Fender Tone Master Pro is nice… but all it takes is Native Instruments to drop a Helix Two and it’ll shake everything up again. I’m already far down the NI rabbit hole(which has kept me from jumping on anything just yet), so I hope they do come out with more powerful hardware. Adding real Guitar has been more difficult than any Instrument before. Drums are my jam, and I can get by on a Keyboard/Midi controller.
