As a former dancer, when the later peeks at the game before release were shown, one of my first thoughts was that Cloud looked like a dancer to me. When that was later confirmed, it made me so happy. There's so many little things in stance and movement that you can instantly notice if you're overly familiar with them. Speaking of magazines, one thing that frustrated me about Barret was an overheat mechanic, when so easily they could have done a reload mechanic. And in things like MPs they stop firing arbitrarily, when they could have used a reload mechanic for them as well to prevent oversaturating with bullets, rather than an obscure time limit for shooting before they stop.

It doesn't make sense that the voice actors were "too old" when the Japanese actors are older, and Ive heard George Newbern recently. He literally sounds no different. I remember playing this game the first time. My friend and I hired this and the PlayStation from The video store and we were surprised that it came with 3 disks. Nevertheless, we had no idea what to expect, had not heard of it nor any previous FF games but we gave it a go...for about an hour 😅 After blowing up the first reactor, we assumed the rest of the game would navigate in the same direction with several more reactors to blow up - so we stopped playing. Fast forward a year and another friend gave me a copy and insisted I give it another go. So I did. And I was not disappointed. Far from it. Not only did the story go in a direction i never would have guessed or dreamed of, but it was a story I'd never ever come across, ever. My life stopped for this game and to this day, it's my most favourite game of all time and the best have I've ever played. I'm still playing it on my smartphone but God I wish i could play it again for the first time.
I played the remake and being so excited about it I enjoyed it at the start but as it got further in and they added the entire new plot thread around the spirits I completely lost interest. I beat it out of sheer stubbornness to see it through and I guess I was so uninterested in it I forgot they tried to kill barrot I had high hopes but I lost any interest in them trying to do this
I started to be very annoyed at the whispers during the church. They already ruined encountering Aerith with both new story lines (how Sephiroth is treated and the whispers). I found great things in the remake, but the overall result is a great game and gameplay but a story and narrative mess and according to me a let-down and disgrace to the legacy of FF VII. They have said that the locations will be out of order for the continuation, after hearing Aerith tell me as a player to forget the past and focus on the future in the rebirth trailer, I hope the forgotten city is the next location and the famous scene happens within the first hours. Although I still doubt that she dies, if she will stay dead but even if she does, her ghost will haunt Cloud just as much as remake Sephiroth did.
@@vincentgraymore they should completely dropped sepheroh from the game until the final shinra battle and then cloud could have had flashbacks idk I understand they wanted something new but I just wanted the ff7 story not that mess
@@randy5606 What? Sephiroth doesn't show up at all physically until they infiltrate Shinra HQ. Prior to that all of Cloud's interactions with Sephiroth (i.e., after the bombing of Mako Reactor 1 and with Aerith) were hallucinations or flashbacks.
@@mercury3994 yes I know and all that should have been cut. It wasn't needed and kind of brought down the importance. He shouldn't have been in it until the end when he supposedly comes back. It's all messed up
You should try looking at this as a time travel squeal to the extended FF7 lore. The Sephiroth who pops up in Remake is not the Sephiroth of that time but the post Advent Children one. Thus the spirits/ghosts is the worlds reaction to him trying to Remake history/Fate while they preserve the timeline. Remake here is not used as the gaming industry term but the theme of the game. With Rebirth being the the theme of a new world born from the remains of the old fate or reforging destiny
Hey man think you can do a in depth story explanation for Stranger Of Paradise, would love to hear a explanation of this especially since the new dlc is out
It's incredible that not only did they keep the Gay segments in the Remake, but they doubled down on it and expanded the Gay segments. Going on to create original Gay characters altogether. That's groundbreaking for Final Fantasy.
Man as a person who only played the remake and not the original game, I didn't think this video would just start talking about big spoilers with no warning
FF 7 Remake is kina of like a time travel sequel, those big spoilers are actually shown via quick flashes during the end, around the time of the big whisper fight. Also the end of Remake makes it so the big spoilers will most like not happen.
Does anyone else notice that when you are in sector 5 and look up, you are still under the sector 6 plate? Have a look, it is more obvious after the sector 7 plate drop. Am I crazy or am I right?
There's no way that the Buster Sword weights 88.15lbs. The blade is too short and not wide or thick enough to match that weight. At least, not unless it's made out of a heavier material than what you'd normally make a sword from. If the Buster Sword is any kind of real world sword making metal, it would weigh 50lbs max.
I genuinely hope they take inspiration from Gilgamesh if he is. Could you imagine? "I've made my ride even faster with the legendary engine, Excalipoor!" *g-bike randomly explodes*
I remember playing through when original came out. At this point the fans crying that the remake is different need to just stfu and get over it. The remake needs to be different at this point it can't just circle back and end the same. I'm personally excited for a new story I cannot wait for rebirth
I liked the remake. And played the original when it came out. But I will say the whispers got annoying af after a while. Plus don’t really like the idea that Aerith seems to know the future or that she is going to die? Also for the love of god I hope they leave Zach and Aerith dead. Either way. I also do feel like if they left it just as a shot for shot remake it would of been forgotten real quick.
"While some things like the Whispers were more controversial..." Yeah, fuck those guys. No need for them whatsoever. I also disliked the dancing bit in the Honeybee Inn since it runs counter to introverted Cloud, who tended to stand off by himself and not draw attention to himself (apart from fighting competitions, like the Battle Arena).
I really don't mind they changed the voice actors. The new ones are way better, specially Aerith. The only mistake I can point is wasting such a recognizable voice on Biggs. Gideon Emery deserved a playable character role, or at least a major character. Red XIII or Rufus would be a good match for his voice.
There are some that kinda bother me though. Like I really feel Tyler Hoechlin's Sephiroth just doesn't cut it. Then again I've never been pleased with any of the voice actors of Sephiroth so its just probably me being picky.
I love all of your FF7 (original and remake) content. FF 2 and 3 (US), 7, and 9 are by far my favorites. I see a video on one of them, I gotta check it out.
I’m torn when it comes to the English VA for Sephiroth. On the one hand, maybe this is the director’s vision: that Sephy sound bored by everything around him, that his inflectionless tone is the right direction. On the other hand, tho, I just really really like the guy from Advent Children. I thought he did the voice right: subdued and monotone, but still cool and menacing. The new guy is just, meh. Reading straight from the script meh. Idk maybe I’m wrong, maybe I’m in the minority. Cloud is great, everyone else is pretty good to great.
This is off topic but am I the only one who absolutely hates how Aerith and Sephiroth are now omnipotent Gods who know all the events of the original FF7 as well as the rest of the Compilation? They are not even characters anymore, they say stuff that only the players can possibly understand while Cloud and the rest of the party are dumbfounded. I don't care if Remake Aerith gets to live or she dies again because to me she simply isn't Aerith anymore. The original Aerith was sweet but childish, she was innocent but also stubborn. She just wanted a simple adventure but end up being a heroine who sacrificed herself to save the planet, even in death. Remake Aerith is all knowing who plays chess with all powerful AC Sephiroth with the rest of characters being her pawns. And now even Zack's sacrifice means nothing, he is just another pawn in the board. Sacrifice and loss were crucial not only for the original FF7 but the entirety of the Compilation. If everybody lives then what's the point? And what's next? Sephiroth pulling a Xehanort and revealing he was a good guy all along? I love Final Fantasy to the death but I've been very skeptical with the direction of the FF7 Remake. Sorry for the rant.
Nope, you are not the only one, welcome to the club, weirdly enough not many think this way. I'm waiting to see how part 2 ends up and if it will change people's minds on this whole new story.

I really like how they fleshed out details, it really wouldn't work if we went through the story as simply as the original. That said I really could have done without the Lamp level being so long and the entire Train Graveyard really destroyed the urgency of the part of the story. Game would be better without.
I never thought of Cloud being too "weak" to use the Buster Sword, I also thought the Mako and other reason made him strong enough. He's a super soldier after all (even if never been First Class). Also I always thought Cloud and Zack fused (not laterally but memories was shared) when they were in the Mako, that's why he thinks he's Zack most of the time and he has strong feeling for Aerith.
If l recall correctly Hojo not only infused mako into Zack and Cloud but he also implanted jenova cells into them. Apparently jenova cells seek to reunite so due to this Cloud got Zack's memories as the cells were communicating with one another and passing on info. Makes me wonder if Zack may have gotten Cloud's memories as well

pd: perhaps is the largest on videogames. But the one who broke Guiness Record for more soundtraks is FF14
"Heavy weapon"
Crisis Core/Dissidia: The Buster Sword is light-weighted.
having trent Reznor on the soundtrack would make it perfect
Really great video but you got one thing wrong at 4:38 the german cast was also changed like the english one
No, the German cast is a mix of old and new.
another FF7 video??? 🤩 yes please!
ehh i still think the english VAs could do their characters. if the other languages can keep the bulk of their original cast despite aging, then why couldn't the english ones?
my guess is because English would probably be the most recognized. Tbh I'm not even sure they care if its not English or Japanese.
RIP to Vincent Price who would have been awesome as Vincent Valentine. 👍
I need this channel and Cloud dancing, wow
aahhha love Sokens photo man, ahahahhaah
The fact whispers are just farts from people with mako poisoning.
Hey man think you can do a in depth story explanation for Stranger Of Paradise, would love to hear a explanation of this especially since the new dlc is out
Not brining Zach VO from Crisis Core proves it was garbo
😐
Winter 2023 is dec 2022 to March 2023. The release was set for winter 2024.
I’m happy they didn’t make Cloud pole dance smh
It's incredible that not only did they keep the Gay segments in the Remake, but they doubled down on it and expanded the Gay segments. Going on to create original Gay characters altogether. That's groundbreaking for Final Fantasy.
This is probably the dumbest comment here
When it comes to the voice cast I just hope they don't have someone play Cid like a hillbilly again
Hamuazu Hamuazu Hamuazu. You even have it on screen.
“FFVII Remake has the biggest collaboration of composers in the history of video games.”
Eh…Super Smash Bros Ultimate says hi
Yea dude with the bike kinda reminds me of Dante from devil may cry
Do barret next for the final fantasy origins series
Can you discuss about ELEMENTS in your next video please? I am a big fan of yours. Thank you.
I feel cheated at that last fact now. 😔
Does anyone else notice that when you are in sector 5 and look up, you are still under the sector 6 plate? Have a look, it is more obvious after the sector 7 plate drop. Am I crazy or am I right?
You need to sample some of the remix tracks available from OC Remix for your videos
I was making a gunpla while listening to this video 😊
There's no way that the Buster Sword weights 88.15lbs. The blade is too short and not wide or thick enough to match that weight. At least, not unless it's made out of a heavier material than what you'd normally make a sword from. If the Buster Sword is any kind of real world sword making metal, it would weigh 50lbs max.
Rosch has the same JP Voice Actor as Avdol (from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure).
Oh no please don’t say that Roche will be in Rebirth
I genuinely hope they take inspiration from Gilgamesh if he is. Could you imagine? "I've made my ride even faster with the legendary engine, Excalipoor!" *g-bike randomly explodes*
going to play this again soon before the crisis core remake that's not a remake/remaster that isn't a remaster
Have they said why they renamed Aps?
"While some things like the Whispers were more controversial..."
Yeah, fuck those guys.
I never noticed while I really love Balthier!
I love all of your FF7 (original and remake) content. FF 2 and 3 (US), 7, and 9 are by far my favorites. I see a video on one of them, I gotta check it out.
The most surprising thing I learned from this is that people liked Roche? That whole section was cringe, should have been cut in its entirety.
Not gonna lie, my favorite fact was the pole dancing one
@@AndreiCatalin42069 I heard that it will be more faithful to the source material but honestly with Zack being alive this is no longer possible. Even Cloud having the buster sword is now a contradiction.
@@georgehouliaras7239 damn sure they are lying about it being faithful to attract more people like us to play it.Sorry, not gonna happen,i'll just watch a playtrough and only then i will decide if its worth buying or not.
@@AndreiCatalin42069 Same. I got Remake for free on PS Plus lol. Admittedly, I may get Crisis Core if they don't change the ending. They said that they won't change it so I hope they at least not lying on that one like they do with Part 2. If I see any Whispers in the trailers, I'm out.
@@georgehouliaras7239 the voices won't be the same from what i hear. which is a shame cuz it's just going to be jarring
Typo in the title 😉
I really like how they fleshed out details, it really wouldn't work if we went through the story as simply as the original. That said I really could have done without the Lamp level being so long and the entire Train Graveyard really destroyed the urgency of the part of the story. Game would be better without.
His name is Masashi Hamauzu. Not Hamuazu. The A goes before the U. Sorry, I worship this man.
Heads up before this gets more views - there's a missed word in the title
What's the word?
I'm curious as well.
Missed out the word "didn't" :D
@@guess4082 it was missing "Didn't" upon upload
@@FinalFantasyUnion Oh okay lol. Great video 🖤
10 was the last one with a decent soundtrack
"hamuazu" 🤔
Hey no big deal, Clouds VA is named Cody Christian. Not Christianson. Hahaha. I do the same thing all the time.
Makes me wonder if Zack may have gotten Cloud's memories as well
@@thirdplanet4471 we might know now that he doesn't die :)
Roche was lame and could have been easily cut without affecting the game. And damn is it a disservice to Char to compare the two lol
Something interesting about Barret's Death for me is that I almost cried during it
While there are many people still saying Uematsu is the best composer for FF soundtracks I still love Yoko's compositions much more. It's just sad that she did the soundtrack for the worst mainline game so far.
and Soken in my case with FF14
