For the Advent Children one, I always took it as Cloud being exceptionally quick in transforming his swords. He seems to display his mastery of it several times in fight scenes.
It's just post editing, all action movies tend to have inconsistencies in chase scenes because they get cut up and played out of order to keep the action flowing the way the director wants.
One of my favourite goofs (to add on to the Sister Ray entry), is that the cannon already has SISTER RAY written on it while you're escaping Junon as Tifa, despite the cannon not being named until it has been moved to Midgar.
While I'm sure you're already aware, Rebirth has it called "Sister Ray" when you first see it. It suggests that Scarlett always intended for that to be its designation.
For the FF8 one, I think Edea was anticipated to have moved away from her chair so she could be visible from the back and Irvine could have a clear shot. If you look at the scene where Edea parries the shot, you can see some wing tufts on the right side of the screen, which are present on the sides of her chair.
Yep you can literally see her stand up and then turn around. The ornament on the float shows it's facing the correct direction and Edea is facing the clock tower.

Watched video on release. Laughed about the discontinuity. Am watching a FFVIII speedrun right now and saw this scene out of the corner of my eye - "Wait, that's a clear shot of the gate behind her, NOT her seat on the float. She's facing backwards." Then proceeded to come here and look for this comment.
The Spirits Within one you speak about shows 4 touch down as well for the squad. There's an initial green burst of energy that lands, then you immediately see another land in the same one. Then 3 & 4. You can spot all of them in your clip if you slow it down as well.
There is a subtle one in FFXIII too. After defeating Barthandelus on Pulse, you will see his bird morph into an airship and land not far away. If you examine the cie'th stone nearby, the camera will point at the zone where the airship is supposed to be, but the airship is gone.
Sephirot's gloves missing in such a crucial fmv like the most famous one with Aeris is the most mind boggling one for me. I'm surprised it wasn't on the list.
The names of the protagonists from FF3 were in the manga that was released around the time the Famicom game was released. The names weren't pulled out of thin air when it was released on DS.
I mean, while that’s probably true, most manga adaptations of games don’t get elevated to canon info later on, so it’s pretty easy to miss that kind of stuff. Like, if it were common then the Houston guy from the Nintendo Power Metroid comic with his own power suit (implying that Samus’ suit was common tech) would be cannon, and a million other things which comic writers make up to make sense in their medium would be true.
Just so you know, the shot from the sister ray at midgar would have to travel around the world 27 times before hitting the shield at the northern crater.

I still dont see it as it looks to me there standing in the right spot you cant even see which tent is which as it looks to me whats behind them is the entrance to the gate meaning the correct vantage point
For the sniping attempt of Edea if you watch it again you see Edea stand up, walk forward to the front of the float, and then turn around. The float was still pointed in the correct direction and Irvine shot over the back of the float at a standing Edea in its front

Don't forget about the floor where she's killed changes scene from scene and the one that got me in the same scene was the ribbon in her hair, she loses it and in then it reappears in the scene your talking about
I thought the float went round the outside of the city and then came back down the middle through the gate towards Edeas place. This would then mean the mistake is squall driving to the rear of the float.
@@craigmarshall9553 I think this is how it should have been, but there is an a scene in the game where Rinoa's dad explains the trajectory of the float, and it's definitely moving away from Irvine's location.
This is true, as you can see in the fmv edea turns around when the gates closed. And you can see the wing of the float which at the back end, at the right side of the screen when deflect the shot.
Another mistake from the scene in FFX where you meet Yuna is how she only actually makes it a couple of steps before she falls; the scene cuts away as Kimahri runs to catch her, and it cuts right back to show them halfway down the stairs. I've never seen anyone else mention it before, but it always makes me laugh.
I don't think the Irvine shot is a mistake. Here's how I think the scenario goes: 1. Edea's parade enter's the trap 2. Quistis flips a switch 3. First portcullis drops, Edea gets up in surprise Notice how the platform is slightly at an angle there so the high backside of the platform doesn't cover the entire view for Irvine. Also there are "holes" in the platform that would allow him to aim through. 4. The second portcullis drops and Edea turns to watch that Now Edea is facing the direction Irwine is shooting from 6. Irwine shoots 7. Edea sees the muzzle flash and stops the bullet You can see on the lower right corner some of the ornaments that are on both sides of her "throne" Also if Edea was facing front, you would see behind her the platform's backside.
Nah it’s a mistake. The carousel clock is seen out the window in the switch room and edea passed under that window heading south. Irvine could not have taken the shot as the back of the float is completely covered.
@@kjh4496 No they are at such a high vantage point he can make the shot. The back of the float is just something lighting, decorations and curtain on the back of throne. Edea literally stands up, turns around when the second gate closes and looks right at the direction Irvine is shooting from. In the FMV it shows she's clearly standing on the side of the float at that point. You can also notice the float is actually turned slightly to the left giving a better view from the clock tower. It's a hard shot but again he's a sharpshooter that's the whole point.
@@kjh4496 This ain't the damn Kennedy assassination, it's a CGI scene where everything is fixed in place and where it should be, use your eyes and you'll see the float is positioned correctly.
One in VII that I still struggle with when I see it is the hilt design of Angeal's/Zack's/Cloud's Buster Sword. It's gone unaddressed up to now but in the original and remake of VII the hilt is straight across with rivets. In Crisis Core and Advent Children and a couple other places I believe, the hilt is gold and ornate and sits to the left and right corners of the blade and the materia slots interrupt the design of the gold hilt and make a straight line with the blade handle.
Not a mistake, when crisis core came out, the design of the buster sword was made more ornate, this design was then put into advent children complete later on. It was a stylistic change, and one i was quite fond of. But for 7 remake they decided to marry the original design with the Crisis core design, keeping the patterning on the blade but giving it back the classic crossguard, and now for Crisis Core Reunion, they've made it the 7 remake design again.
I suppose most of the issues from the CGI videos were because these were done way before the rest of the development, and by a different team. And in the end they thought "barely anybody will notice". I mean, you rarely hear people complain about Jurassic Park where the T-Rex coming out of its pen, flips a car, and minutes later Dr. Grant and the kids have to climb down a wall where the T-Rex just came out of :D
So actually its not a goof. It's an editing mishap. There is a damn/cliff next to the jrex pen. Apparently there was a shot that clearly showed this, but it was cut. There are maps of the pen that explain this
for the FF8 thing pay closer attention. -1 the gate in front of her goes down -2 she turns around then the gate thats at the "back" comes down -3 then irvine lines up the shot. -5 then its a close up of her with the gate behind her, that gate "behind" her was the gate that came down in front.
The Spirits Within not being liked always made me sad. That movie was one of my first introductions to FF as a whole (VII was my first, The Spirits Within my second) and I loved that movie to bits. Had it on VHS, I believe. It's been forever. lol
I still enjoy Spirits within too. I went to see it in the cinema with my cousin. There were only 7 people there to watch it (including me and my cousin). Still watch the DVD now and then 😁
It's odd to remember that about the time Advent Children came out, FFXV's first version was about to begin production. Also...I never did put the connection together until now that pretty much Noctis' use of the armiger is essentially Cloud's limit break. ...Wonder who would win in a fight between those two 😅

For the Sister Ray shot, assuming there was no deflection off of Diamond Weapon whatsoever, it doesn’t necessarily have to be a straight shot. I had always assumed that the Coriolis Effect was in play.
In Advent Children, when Kadaj visits Rufus (it's been a long time and I don't remember exactly why), at one point Kadaj kneels before Rufus and it looks like his scabbard goes right through the floor
for the Advent Children one, I think they changed that fight for FF7 Advent Children Complete, so they probably mixed something up cutting up the normal censored version
The actual issue with the FF8 scene is not the orientation of the float, it's actually correct in the part where Edea blocks the bullet if you compare the placement of the throne's feathers and halo in that shot. The issue is for Irvine's bullet to even hit her it would need to have gone -through- her throne, said throne blocks pretty much the entire view of the float meaning it should have been impossible for Irvine to even see exactly where she is for the bullet to connect let alone be able to hit her. And this is a very thick looking throne meaning most bullets would have just gotten lodged in it. In short the problem is Irvine suddenly having x-ray vision and apparently possessing a gun that can fire a bullet through at least 1-3 meters of matter while still having enough force to kill.
At 12:14 you can clearly see a summoned monster running on air and as far as I remember its in both versions of the movie. I'm surprised you didn't mention this
Actually if you pay close attention when all four squad members jump out when they land one lands directly behind the first one is very easy to mess just gonna be very close attention
Another on the Sister Ray in FF7: the cannon was dubbed "the Sister Ray" by Scarlet during the reveal that Shinra had moved it to Midgar (with the narrative that it was her idea to move it there and power it with the city's mako reactors). This implies that the cannon had some other name, or no name at all while installed in Junon - an idea supported by Rufus and Heidegger's dialogue referring to it as "the Main Cannon" during the battle with Saphire Weapon. However, when you are escaping Junon as Tifa following the failed execution, "Sister Ray" can be seen written on the cannon as you are running accross it.

At 12:25 cloud uses the sword compartment on his bike to push Loz away and in that frame you can see the sword used in the following scenes, it happens so fast its hard to notice.
for the first vid, i think i took notice of that as well. but i interpreted the sequence differently. after the first gate drops, she stands up and turns around, to see the one behind her float also drops. after Irvine takes the shot and it gets blocked, you see the gate behind her, but NOT the seat and back of the float. so i understood it as Irvine shot at the back of the float, but at an angle where he could see Edea clearly, and she was facing behind it, toward where Irvine and Squall were
I've been playing 7 off and on since it first came out on ps1 and I never realized that the sister ray wasn't pointed at the northern crater. I never even thought about it. Ha, just when you think you know everything about something, you learn something new. Pretty cool
In Advent Children, they use a blue Materia to Summon Bahamuth Sin. Summon Materia are red, blue Materia are Support. They summoned using an All Materia! XD
I've played final fantasy my whole life, starting from under age 10 to present day at 28, FF 7, 8, and 9 being the main ones for years. And while I can't remember the exact age I first played FF8, I did notice how Irvine shouldn't have been able to make that shot. From the way Caraway described the floats route to the FMV itself, I was always so confused on how it made sense that Irvine was shooting at edea from head on when he should have been behind her. You also see Squall jump down from the snipers nest, run forward towards a car, then drive the car away from Irvine towards the gates where he crashes into them and jumps through to be faced with the back of the float, and then he somehow climbs up the back and ends up infront of edea? What did Edea and Seifer just let squall calmly walk past them to stand at the front of the float before starting the fight? The cutscene was really cool and all, but even as a kid of 7-9 years old I noticed the continuity problems and it always bugged me. I feel where they were suppose to shoot from should have been changed or perhaps the parade should have started somewhere else and was gonna end where it originally started so they'd be trying to assassinate her towards the end of the parade when she's literally heading right towards them.
Oh! I actually did notice the float's orientation. I remember wondering how he's going to hit her through the back of the float and being surprised at the FMV. Then I promptly forgot about it and never thought about it until I played it the next time, and repeat.
I can distantly remember noticing that very last one by pure chance, I literally just wanted to follow the aim path of the Sister Ray and it was wrong, lol.
Nice video. I never noticed that FF X teleporting after so many playthroughs. Another ffx mistake I noticed was the 2 Yuna character models in the scene after the sending in kilika. It's only in the ps2 version though, Square fixed the mistake in the hd versions.
Think I knew of all of these besides the Spirits of Within. The only reason i did not catch it was it sort of looks like four jellies landing things hit the ground. To be fair if they have that type of landing system then they also have auto pilot.

I am currently adding the sister-ray too my midgar build in satisfactory and have watched the cannon firing scene too many times. There's a few inconsistencies in the video about the design of the cannon. But there so small and from far away you wouldn't notice. Or it's just too dark that you just can't see bits being rendered.
I think #1 either changes in the middle of development due to some maybe technical limitations or the CGI team did it on purpose cause it looked way cooler. This way than just plopping on the shield from behind.
@@Aerotides it’s not always obvious on first play! But once you do notice it’s hard to miss ime. Less so in the side games like Opera Omnia and Theatrhythm (the latter even having Heterochromia as a password for one of Yuna’s cards in the original version!)
Just pointing out at the OG Ff7 intro Where Aerith was looking at the Mako lights FMv.. She doesnt actually stand up..she levitates upwards. They did not animate her legs bent to stand up. 😁
There's a basic geometrical goof that all the games with world maps engage in. It makes sense to loop from east to west, but unless the planets are toruses rather than spheroids, they shouldn't loop north to south.
I liked spirits within and saw it as a tech demo. Much of the tech and processes became mainstream in game cg. We see short movie tech demos all the time these days but it was rare back then.
I remember I did actually pretend I was being fired from the cannon and that it didn't line up... I also rember not caring that much. Such an awesome game. Such a big game! Little slip ups are bound to happen. Different departments and all that. With what I've learnt here on this channel about how much the game changed, I'd just assume the world designer had midgar build and set into the world long before the even decided to strap a cannon too it probably. Would of been too much work to go in and change it.
There actually are several mistakes in the Aerith death scene! The direction Aerith faces changes, Sephiroth wears gloves and then he does not, the etxture of the ground changes... It's actually a mess! I guess it shows the power of the emotion we all had at that time, for basically nobody to notice all the inconsistencies in that scene. XD
The advent children motorcycle chase scene can easily be explained as things that happened off-screen…nothing about that scene at all seemed to be an “error.”
I played FFXI for 11 years. And am now 6 years or so into FFXIV. And to this day I still occasionally find the need to say "This trial are sick" or "This dungeon are sick" in party chat to amuse myself. (back in FFXI it would be more "This party are sick" of course.)

Small detail that I find very interesting. Mostly everyone I hear on youtube talking about Tidus is calling him Tydus, even though years ago Dissidia confirmed that its pronounced as written, Tidus. Most interestingly enough, as a kid when playing this game as a non native English speaker, I also rationalized his name should be pronounced as Tydus rather then Tidus. I really wonder why so many people over the world rationalize it should be pronounced as "Y" despite being written with an "I".
Exactly. Tidus is Tīda in Japanese, pronounced Teeda. It's Okiinawan for Sun. Yuna is Moon in Okiinawan. I do get why people say Tie-dus though as Tide = water, and Spira is a water world in general.

I'm currently replaying FF7 (purchased on Xbone). Just finished Wutai after getting the Tiny Bronco at the moment, so a long way to go until the Sister Ray is relocated, but you can bet your ass I'll be doing that flight from Midgar to confirm when I get there 🤣 They've definitely fixed the poor translations (This guy are sick) in the re-released version. My favourite was always Reno to Elena at Wutai "Remember, you is a Turks!", has been fixed to "You're a Turk!"
VII's translation has been fixed since the PC release way back in 98. Every subsequent release has been based off of that one, so the famous errors only occur in the PS1 release.
@@gorimbaud That tracks. This is the first time I've played it not on PS1. I kept that thing for years for the sole purpose of occasionally breaking it out to playthrough FF7 again. It finally gave up the ghost a couple of years back, so if I wanted to play it again I had to get it another way.
One in FFVII ACC was missed ,but only because of the remake , Cloud technically defeats Sephiroth 3 times-Crisis core -Og/Remake and Advent children so when Zack Said “You defeated him once before it’s becuase Zack was in the livestream and was unaware of the second beating of Sephiroth(even though technically he didn’t kill him the second time and basically let him go ..) just fun fact to out out there !
I just hope we get to fight Diamond Weapon in the Remake. It was always disappointing that we couldnt track down the Diamond Weapon remains and accidently retrigger or restore it or something. I would of been fine with it being an easier entry level weapon due to it being severely damaged already, but still. Missed opportunity.

Edea literally stands up, turns around when the second gate closes and looks right at the direction Irvine is shooting from. In the FMV it shows she's clearly standing on the side of the float at that point.
You can also notice the float is actually turned slightly to the left giving a better view from the clock tower.
It's a hard shot but again he's a sharpshooter that's the whole point.
@@kjh4496 This ain't the damn Kennedy assassination, it's a CGI scene where everything is fixed in place and where it should be, use your eyes and you'll see the float is positioned correctly.

One in VII that I still struggle with when I see it is the hilt design of Angeal's/Zack's/Cloud's Buster Sword. It's gone unaddressed up to now but in the original and remake of VII the hilt is straight across with rivets.
In Crisis Core and Advent Children and a couple other places I believe, the hilt is gold and ornate and sits to the left and right corners of the blade and the materia slots interrupt the design of the gold hilt and make a straight line with the blade handle.
Not a mistake, when crisis core came out, the design of the buster sword was made more ornate, this design was then put into advent children complete later on. It was a stylistic change, and one i was quite fond of. But for 7 remake they decided to marry the original design with the Crisis core design, keeping the patterning on the blade but giving it back the classic crossguard, and now for Crisis Core Reunion, they've made it the 7 remake design again.
I suppose most of the issues from the CGI videos were because these were done way before the rest of the development, and by a different team. And in the end they thought "barely anybody will notice".
I mean, you rarely hear people complain about Jurassic Park where the T-Rex coming out of its pen, flips a car, and minutes later Dr. Grant and the kids have to climb down a wall where the T-Rex just came out of :D
So actually its not a goof. It's an editing mishap. There is a damn/cliff next to the jrex pen. Apparently there was a shot that clearly showed this, but it was cut. There are maps of the pen that explain this
for the FF8 thing pay closer attention.
-1 the gate in front of her goes down -2 she turns around then the gate thats at the "back" comes down -3 then irvine lines up the shot. -5 then its a close up of her with the gate behind her, that gate "behind" her was the gate that came down in front.
Sephiroth's gloves during the scene with Areith in the city of ancients... the gloves disappear and re appear lol.
There’s also a checkered floor pattern under Aerith during a shot from this scene!
The Spirits Within not being liked always made me sad. That movie was one of my first introductions to FF as a whole (VII was my first, The Spirits Within my second) and I loved that movie to bits. Had it on VHS, I believe. It's been forever. lol
I still enjoy Spirits within too. I went to see it in the cinema with my cousin. There were only 7 people there to watch it (including me and my cousin). Still watch the DVD now and then 😁

It's odd to remember that about the time Advent Children came out, FFXV's first version was about to begin production. Also...I never did put the connection together until now that pretty much Noctis' use of the armiger is essentially Cloud's limit break.

For the Sister Ray shot, assuming there was no deflection off of Diamond Weapon whatsoever, it doesn’t necessarily have to be a straight shot. I had always assumed that the Coriolis Effect was in play.
In Advent Children, when Kadaj visits Rufus (it's been a long time and I don't remember exactly why), at one point Kadaj kneels before Rufus and it looks like his scabbard goes right through the floor
for the Advent Children one, I think they changed that fight for FF7 Advent Children Complete, so they probably mixed something up cutting up the normal censored version
The actual issue with the FF8 scene is not the orientation of the float, it's actually correct in the part where Edea blocks the bullet if you compare the placement of the throne's feathers and halo in that shot. The issue is for Irvine's bullet to even hit her it would need to have gone -through- her throne, said throne blocks pretty much the entire view of the float meaning it should have been impossible for Irvine to even see exactly where she is for the bullet to connect let alone be able to hit her. And this is a very thick looking throne meaning most bullets would have just gotten lodged in it.
In short the problem is Irvine suddenly having x-ray vision and apparently possessing a gun that can fire a bullet through at least 1-3 meters of matter while still having enough force to kill.
At 12:14 you can clearly see a summoned monster running on air and as far as I remember its in both versions of the movie. I'm surprised you didn't mention this
Actually if you pay close attention when all four squad members jump out when they land one lands directly behind the first one is very easy to mess just gonna be very close attention
Another on the Sister Ray in FF7: the cannon was dubbed "the Sister Ray" by Scarlet during the reveal that Shinra had moved it to Midgar (with the narrative that it was her idea to move it there and power it with the city's mako reactors). This implies that the cannon had some other name, or no name at all while installed in Junon - an idea supported by Rufus and Heidegger's dialogue referring to it as "the Main Cannon" during the battle with Saphire Weapon. However, when you are escaping Junon as Tifa following the failed execution, "Sister Ray" can be seen written on the cannon as you are running accross it.

At 12:25 cloud uses the sword compartment on his bike to push Loz away and in that frame you can see the sword used in the following scenes, it happens so fast its hard to notice.
for the first vid, i think i took notice of that as well. but i interpreted the sequence differently. after the first gate drops, she stands up and turns around, to see the one behind her float also drops. after Irvine takes the shot and it gets blocked, you see the gate behind her, but NOT the seat and back of the float. so i understood it as Irvine shot at the back of the float, but at an angle where he could see Edea clearly, and she was facing behind it, toward where Irvine and Squall were
If cloud and gilgamesh ever squared off, the arena would be left looking like the keyblade graveyard

I've been playing 7 off and on since it first came out on ps1 and I never realized that the sister ray wasn't pointed at the northern crater. I never even thought about it. Ha, just when you think you know everything about something, you learn something new. Pretty cool
In Advent Children, they use a blue Materia to Summon Bahamuth Sin.
Summon Materia are red, blue Materia are Support. They summoned using an All Materia! XD
I've played final fantasy my whole life, starting from under age 10 to present day at 28, FF 7, 8, and 9 being the main ones for years. And while I can't remember the exact age I first played FF8, I did notice how Irvine shouldn't have been able to make that shot. From the way Caraway described the floats route to the FMV itself, I was always so confused on how it made sense that Irvine was shooting at edea from head on when he should have been behind her.
You also see Squall jump down from the snipers nest, run forward towards a car, then drive the car away from Irvine towards the gates where he crashes into them and jumps through to be faced with the back of the float, and then he somehow climbs up the back and ends up infront of edea? What did Edea and Seifer just let squall calmly walk past them to stand at the front of the float before starting the fight? The cutscene was really cool and all, but even as a kid of 7-9 years old I noticed the continuity problems and it always bugged me.
I feel where they were suppose to shoot from should have been changed or perhaps the parade should have started somewhere else and was gonna end where it originally started so they'd be trying to assassinate her towards the end of the parade when she's literally heading right towards them.
Oh! I actually did notice the float's orientation. I remember wondering how he's going to hit her through the back of the float and being surprised at the FMV. Then I promptly forgot about it and never thought about it until I played it the next time, and repeat.
I can distantly remember noticing that very last one by pure chance, I literally just wanted to follow the aim path of the Sister Ray and it was wrong, lol.

Nice video. I never noticed that FF X teleporting after so many playthroughs. Another ffx mistake I noticed was the 2 Yuna character models in the scene after the sending in kilika. It's only in the ps2 version though, Square fixed the mistake in the hd versions.
Think I knew of all of these besides the Spirits of Within. The only reason i did not catch it was it sort of looks like four jellies landing things hit the ground. To be fair if they have that type of landing system then they also have auto pilot.
I dont know if it's a mistake or not, but in ffvii when cloud is carrying Aeris/Aerith to the water and she gently falls in, how was he standing there without swimming holding her in such deep water?
My head-cannon for FF8 was that Irvine ricocheted the bullet but now watching it in slow motion reveals the error

The Advent Children scene is pretty clear that those swords are basically a jig-saw jack-knife combo, so I don't think it's a mistake.

I think it was a localization oversight but one of my favorite goofs is the kid who wants to "grow up and be a blitzball" in FFX

I am currently adding the sister-ray too my midgar build in satisfactory and have watched the cannon firing scene too many times.
There's a few inconsistencies in the video about the design of the cannon. But there so small and from far away you wouldn't notice. Or it's just too dark that you just can't see bits being rendered.

It could be that the motorcycle fight scene was originally a lot longer and they shortened it for pacing.
I've played FFX many times and never noticed the Wakka/Lulu scene was from the wrong vantage point.
I think #1 either changes in the middle of development due to some maybe technical limitations or the CGI team did it on purpose cause it looked way cooler. This way than just plopping on the shield from behind.

There's a basic geometrical goof that all the games with world maps engage in. It makes sense to loop from east to west, but unless the planets are toruses rather than spheroids, they shouldn't loop north to south.
I liked spirits within and saw it as a tech demo. Much of the tech and processes became mainstream in game cg. We see short movie tech demos all the time these days but it was rare back then.

There actually are several mistakes in the Aerith death scene! The direction Aerith faces changes, Sephiroth wears gloves and then he does not, the etxture of the ground changes...
It's actually a mess! I guess it shows the power of the emotion we all had at that time, for basically nobody to notice all the inconsistencies in that scene. XD
The advent children motorcycle chase scene can easily be explained as things that happened off-screen…nothing about that scene at all seemed to be an “error.”
I played FFXI for 11 years. And am now 6 years or so into FFXIV. And to this day I still occasionally find the need to say "This trial are sick" or "This dungeon are sick" in party chat to amuse myself. (back in FFXI it would be more "This party are sick" of course.)

Mostly everyone I hear on youtube talking about Tidus is calling him Tydus, even though years ago Dissidia confirmed that its pronounced as written, Tidus.
Most interestingly enough, as a kid when playing this game as a non native English speaker, I also rationalized his name should be pronounced as Tydus rather then Tidus.
I really wonder why so many people over the world rationalize it should be pronounced as "Y" despite being written with an "I".
Exactly. Tidus is Tīda in Japanese, pronounced Teeda. It's Okiinawan for Sun. Yuna is Moon in Okiinawan.
I do get why people say Tie-dus though as Tide = water, and Spira is a water world in general.

I'm currently replaying FF7 (purchased on Xbone). Just finished Wutai after getting the Tiny Bronco at the moment, so a long way to go until the Sister Ray is relocated, but you can bet your ass I'll be doing that flight from Midgar to confirm when I get there 🤣
They've definitely fixed the poor translations (This guy are sick) in the re-released version. My favourite was always Reno to Elena at Wutai "Remember, you is a Turks!", has been fixed to "You're a Turk!"
VII's translation has been fixed since the PC release way back in 98. Every subsequent release has been based off of that one, so the famous errors only occur in the PS1 release.

One in FFVII ACC was missed ,but only because of the remake , Cloud technically defeats Sephiroth 3 times-Crisis core -Og/Remake and Advent children so when Zack Said “You defeated him once before it’s becuase Zack was in the livestream and was unaware of the second beating of Sephiroth(even though technically he didn’t kill him the second time and basically let him go ..) just fun fact to out out there !
I just hope we get to fight Diamond Weapon in the Remake. It was always disappointing that we couldnt track down the Diamond Weapon remains and accidently retrigger or restore it or something. I would of been fine with it being an easier entry level weapon due to it being severely damaged already, but still. Missed opportunity.
