This is simply the best tutorial for this pedal anywhere on UA-cam. Such a great help....thank you so much!
Just got this pedal and simply love it! Love how all the algorithms sound and also the simplicity of use. Now I wonder why didn't I get this pedal years ago?
I know Brian loves his DD-500 but I sold mine off and got this pedal as a replacement and honestly I couldn't be happier. I might add the smart clock eventually (great solution, thank you Brian) but pedal's tap tempo works for the time being. Anyone contemplating purchase of this pedal in 2025 just get it, you won't be disappointed.
Really appreciate finding this video for the now out of production Triple Delay. The Disaster Area Smart clock seems like a perfect addition... I do like a digital/numerical readout. Thanks so much!
From someone who only worships at the Church of Rock, thanks for this. Great demo/tutorial.
4 years later, I bought the triple delay, I came a little late on this one....
I totally agree with you that 'less is more", 90 percent of the time, it's a Godsend. Too much choice can be a trap,
the options thing can be a total rabbit hole!
Thanks for posting, this has really helped me. 😇
Terrific walk thru, thank you! Recently bought the Triple Delay and your Disaster Area (what a great name) Clock looks like the missing link for me, brilliant. Thanks again.
Love mine........three different delay patches.......brilliant
I realize this is an older video, but I recently picked up a TC Electronic Triple Delay and found this to be quite informative. I really like the idea of using a Disaster Area Time Clock. Don't know if they're still available, if not there must be something similar out there. I really am used to many years of using delays with bpm and/or millisecond markings. I'm glad I was able to find the Triple Delay since they're out of production. The only drawback I saw before purchasing one was that there's no bpm digital readout. Thanks for a great demo of this delay unit. Cheers ~Glenn
Of course you can tweak your delays to your liking in the TonePrint Editor in bigger depth and get exactly what you want and beam them into the four Toneprint slots,so you have everything
Cool. I'm on the fence on getting this. I'm always looking for more ambient/spatial/BIG sounds for my guitar in worship service. Love the Agape amp! God bless.
Get one while you can (if you haven't already) - discontinued!
I had this pedal and loved it, I miss it to this day. Replaced by my hx stomp which is great but this was so easy to use
Well, I went ahead and ordered this and it arrived yesterday. Very easy to "program" the 3 presets and get nice sounds straight away. I found that serial mode was just too extreme - my preference is parallel. No manual included so this video clip was very helpful.
Amazing review!
Just to mention: The Quartz by Selah Effects (the ones that make the Scarlett Love Overdrive) does the same thing as the SmartClock, and it is a bit cheaper and looks wayyy better :) Great Video man!
Selah are Aussie and proud
You can change modulation!!! Get the toneprint app for the pedal on the computer. Then connect the pedal to the computer using the usb it comes with. There u can assign certain jobs to certain knobs. I put modulation mix on the "time" knob because i always tap in the tempo and would rather have control over modulation. You have a lot of choices of what knob you want to assign certain things like cutt of time, modulation etc.
Good to know. I just got mine yesterday
@@mattgilbert7347nicee, congrats :)
I second that: Great review of this barberic beast of a tripple kind.
Excellent review! Thank you!!! And what a wonderful delay!
You did a terrific job on this. Simple = better is a great point. I use a Strymon Dig for that very reason. No mod control is a big deal though. Probably a deal breaker for me. Great job!
Videos are good, your knowledge is incredible.Thank you
Great explanation! Thank you
Thanks soo much for your help
This’s very helpful
Can you use this effextbox to
Other instruments than depressing guittars.?
Great video bud
Is this still your main delay pedal? I'm considering buying this pedal but want your opinion. Do you like it, do you love it, any complaints, etc.?
top review, thanks!
Great demo thanks - what is the function of the delay 1 / Delay 2 / Delay 3 toggle switch - you had it set permanently on delay 3 ?
Great review, thank you :-)
Great tips and tutorials, check out the one control hammer midi cables, I just ordered some and think you would like the aesthetics on ur board as well, keep up the good work brother 👌🏻
AHHHHHHHHHHH tc triple threat and boss dd20 :DDDDD
You can change how much modulation you want in toneprint editor , you can basicly change everything (:
So for some one buying new equipment or upgrading to higher end pedals, you would recommend this delay pedal over timefactor, timeline and Dd500? And why? I'm in the market for a delay pedal but can't afford the timeline and of course our worship has a lot of ambient guitar. I currently use two cheap delay pedals to get my sound. Looking for a sound upgrade
So good !
I watched this video for TCE delay demo but learned about the Smart Clock and bought one to go with my delay. Is there anything special about the midi cable you are using or just a standard 5 pin midi cable?
I don't know if I should get this pedal or dd500 !!!!
Is this still your main delay pedal and are you still using the smart clock with it?
You guys rock
Thanks Brian, but I would recommend you also post a non HD version. 720p is almost unwatchably choppy for me today for some reason.
+Carl Gundel Hey Carl - UA-cam automatically encodes different versions of the video. Hit the little gear icon on the bottom right, then go to the 'Quality' tab, and you should be able to choose between anything from 144p through 1080p.
I'm noticing play back is choppy for me right now, too - it must be a UA-cam thing because my connection isn't slow here.
+Worship Tutorials Thanks. It must have been encoding those lower quality ones after the fact (or something) because only 1080p and 720p were available at the time. Learning all the time. God bless. :-)
Is this the MJ-5P MultiJack to 5-pin MIDI cable or the 5P-TRS MultiJack to 5-pin MIDI cable? I want to run the same setup...
The tone print thing sounds like an old dial up to me, like AOL. Sorry if I missed it but folks could make their own tone print and adjust the modulation on their computer according to their taste, or at least that's how my flashback works.
I really like the tc electronic pedals because of the tone print app. If you connect it to your computer you can really edit really well. I have the hall of fame mini and the x4 and I also have the mini flashback for my practice board at home. Have you tried connecting it to your computer?
Great review 👍
The Disaster Area is nearly the same price as the Flashback tho 😩😔😢
can you do a video on how to use the Line 6? im having a bit of trouble using it....
Greatest video ever as other people say. I just bought this last year mainly for my handpan. Now i got into synths and im trying to midi sync it with my synth(microfreak) but i dont think is happening...any idea if this can work with synths with midi for example?Of course Disaster area can solve the trick but its a bit too much for me to spend right now for another gear..who knows though maybe i will. Thank you!!!
How are you getting on with it ? I bought a used on on Reverb but there is a discernible click sound when i press a key on my Korg Wavestate but i havn't tried it yet with other synths that i have since acquired ?
Could you use a SmartClock in the same form using a Flashback X4?
Did I hear latency from the time you tap til it engages? Or is it an instant change when tapping?
Great video 👍
Do you think getting the disaster area micro clock would work too for global tap tempo
Brian, thanks for reviewing this thing! I forgot about the global tap only being for active delays. I've been noticing different tempos during worship on my delays and been a little confused.
I use a Triple Delay in the loop of my HD500X. After watching your patches of the HD500X I bought one and I love it.
Question: Is it possible to MIDI the tap tempo on the HD500X to the Triple Delay as a global tap tempo?
If so, that would be awesome because I use a 4th delay on my POD and it would sync my Triple Delay.
+Christopher Mumford I'm not sure if you can do that or not, but I'd think maybe you can. Check the documentation on the POD and if you can send out midi clock or tempo data.
Thanks. You guys have been so helpful to me as a worship guitarist. I truly appreciate what you do! Don't let the haters get you down because you really make a difference!
once you get a delay set, how do you erase it?
Which disaster area are you using??
Hey guys nice demo! Could you please tell me if I can tweak with any knob the modulation in analog mode? Is that’s possible?
Hi how did you setup your disaster area tap? I bought it connected, but no response from triple delay it's like not connected
I cannot find the disaster area tap tempo in stock anywhere online!
do you know how to save the sound on this pedal? because Im having a problem with my pedal. every time i choose delay for each footswitch and turn it off. all my set up are gone not just the tempo but it change the type of the delay I assign into it
How do midi works ? What are the PC and CC ?
What is the best budget solution to control a global tempo for TC triple delay pedal.
Smart clock pedal is good but fukn expensive..
Thnxx guys
There is also a mini clock from Disaster Area but I don’t know of anything any cheaper.
@@worshiptutorials thnx bro. One more question: does this pedal save the preset of all three delays, only active delays or only one delay at a time?? How to save your own favourite settings for future usage? Cheers mate
I bought one of these this weekend and it won't turn on. Brand new. I plan on returning it to get a new one. Anyone have any ideas as to why it wont turn on? I am using the provided power supply and I have cable going into the mono input and coming out the mono output. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Hey Brian are you going to post electric guitar tutorials and probably bass guitar tutorials
+Dom Villarreal Hi Dom - Electric guitar tutorials for sure. I'm not planning to do bass tutorials at the moment, but I'd like to eventually (keys as well).
+Worship Tutorials awesome maybe drums you can have the people you play with to be in the channel
+Dom Villarreal All those instruments would be cool, but it would be a serious financial and time investment to be able to make it happen. Hopefully as things grow we can be able to do some of those things.
+Worship Tutorials ya by the way can I ask 2 things
+Dom Villarreal Sure - ask away :)
Without using any MIDI controller, this pedal is almost a disaster, but with a MIDI controller is Heaven. I have one and I love, but you have to have a MIDI controller. The same aplly for two other pedals that I have: Enzo e Hedra, both from Meris
How do midi works ? What are the PC and CC ?
I have the Boss DD500 I have two delays on the A/B
Is there a Global setting or do I need the Time Clock?
What what are the exact settings you run on all 3 channels?
hey guys is it possible to control with that midi clock the tap tempo of a flashback x4, boss gt 100 and line 6 m9 at the same time?? do I have to use the midi thru? I have never used midi that is why im asking thanks!!
is there a way to use the smartclock with a quarter inch patch cable instead of a midi cable?
Sure you can do that to tap in a pedal with an analog tap input - like a Boss DD7, for example. For the Triple Delay and other delays that require a midi sync, you have to use a midi cable.
Some delays (like the Eventide TimeFactor) will sync tap with both analog and/or midi.
For the Triple delay specifically, you cant use a quarter inch and plug it into the expression pedal input jack on the triple delay? Or maybe use the usb input? I have a triple delay and the smartclock, but i dont have the midi cable. just trying to find a way to get around it if i can.
You have to use midi if you want the delays to sync while they're not turned on.

if i swith off ,the trails off delay sudden off or fade out...? pls help me
Depends if u set it to true bypass or buffered
The selector switch makes it completely unusable in a live situation if you need to adjust the tap tempo while playing...
Start of song, select them all, tap, turn it off. Not too bad really
do i hear clipping?
I'm debating between getting one of these, a Line 6 M9, or two Boss DD series delays. Can you weight in some thoughts? I don't have enough money to buy the disaster area universal tap, do you think the lack of universal tap on this pedal hinders the pedal? Or do you think I should drop some more money and just get one boutique delay like the Empress Superdelay? I'd love to hear your opinion as I'm finally almost done building my rig. Thanks love your channel!! Just got a job as Youth Director at a Church thanks in part to the skills I have learned from your videos. God Bless!
If you have the money get the Triple delay, you can do things that you can't with two boss DD pedals or Line 6 Dl.Get the Flashback I have it and can't recommend it enough.
Joseph Wright, they have global tap tempos online for around 30 bucks. they don't have the digital clock read-out but i imagine it will work just the same. Thats my plan anyway. hope this helps! i cam barely wait to have this pedal.
Just make sure it's midi clock and not simply tap tempo. For the triple delay, you have to use midi clock sync to get a global tap.
Just buy different delay pedals and stack them they're all great and have their own unique voices
Agape amp???first time i see that brand.agape means love at greek lol.nice pedal tho
reverse into reverse into reverse is ridiculous.
The problem with this Cool pedal is that once you set up your controls you can't save them. Only 4 presets, so it's quite useless for live gigs.
TC !!! So much money on RnD. Why cant you simply put a bloody screen on this ??? It will knock everyone else down.
Hey! What would you recommend, the TC Triple Delay or the Boss DD500?
Boss DD500 is more tweak able, but sound wise I would go for Triple Delay, don't forget the abilities with the Toneprint editor, where you can tweak more parameters to you likening.
Crap, another 180 dollars for the global tap tempo :-(
TC triple or Boss DD-500 I'm really torn help lol
Either would do you great, you can mostly do the same stuff, differences dd500 can only stack two different delays while triple can stack three, the 500 has more presets so it'll be on you to see which can suit you better
Get both
Thanks for this demo. I have a question, can i have more presets from a midi controller?
You can use the TonePrint function. It's really fantastic. You can even beam it from your handheld device right through your pickups into your pedal.
also guys those global tap tempos are super cheap if you don't get this particular one. theres plenty for like 30 bucks new. I don't know the quality, but I can't imagine that it has compicated inner-workings.
Mark Floyd for this unit to have global tap, it has to use the midi clock, which requires a bit more than your typical tap tempo, and it's why they are more expensive.
A regular tap tempo will just replicate the behavior of the tap that's already built into the triple delay, so it won't be global. Again, TC did not include global tap because many delays need to be set to a specific time and are not tempo dependent (slap back being the most common use case).
@@worshiptutorials what if I don’t need the global tempo feature, just an external tap tempo, would it work?
It seems my switch stopped working 😭
More elevation
Hello! can this Triple delay be connected to the Disaster Area Micro Clock Tap Tempo?
Yes, you’ll just need a TRS to MIDI cable since the micro.clock has 1/4” inputs
