Really blown away by this delay pedal. This pedal is a bargain price wise, and that is coming from a full time working musician. Compact footprint, every delay you need, good price. Wish I had this one a year ago.
If there is one thing this pedal does better then any delay pedal I have ever tried, it is leave your dry tone alone. I can click this pedal on in the middle of a note and you can't tell it is on till you hear the repeat. I have never played a more transparent delay pedal. Major props to TC Electronics. I was so impressed by this pedal when I went shopping for reverb, I just went straight to the "Hall of Fame" reverb. Got that in today and am equally impressed by how it keeps the original tone unaltered. To me that is the most important feature of these pedals. A lot of pedals have great delays, great reverbs, but it drives my up the wall when I click them on and my tone changes. Not the case with this one. Like the other posters said though, get a power supply. Batteries are merely a snack to this pedal.
What kind of a schmuck puts up a thumbs down for a video like this? Great player, and great tutorial from someone who's not even a native a English speaker. Thanks, this was awesome to go through as I wait for my Flashback to arrive in the mail.
Thank you for a very informative very professional demo. I usually hate all TC electronics pedals, I purchased a G system and sold it a week later because it ate wood. I also had hated all the demos made by the demonstrators so far. But I am always open to a great pedal and a great demo as I have seen here. This gentleman knows the pedal in and out and is a fine player who touches all the fine points of the pedal and its applications. The pedal sounds great. I will probably buy one for my pedalboard based on this demo. And that is coming from a person who has disliked everything from TC electronics so far. So job well done to engineers that designed this pedal and the knowledgeable demonstrator who put together a very professional demo here. ı will always give credit where credit is due. This was top quality all around.
Hey Tore, congratulations on what has to be one of the best presentation/demonstrations of a pedal in internet existence! You play amazingly with a beautiful touch remiscent of artists like Eric Johnson and Steve Morse, AND you also explain concepts well, and due to this demo, you just got yourself another customer! Warm Regards from Australia...
I want this delay so much! I've been watching videos with it over and over, can't wait to get mine! Guys at TC did an amazing job! It has everything anyone would ever want: many presets, toneprint, audio-tapping and a looper! Also, Mr. Tore does a great job explaining us those pedals and showing their possibilities with great playing. Greetings from the middle of Europe! :)
This is the best instructional video on guitar gear that I have ever seen. I am a Paul Gilbert fan and that is how I found out about TC pedals. I just bought the Flashback and can't wait to use it tomorrow night at rehearsal. Many thanks.
Just got mine and it is by far the best sounding delay I have owned. The pedal just performs and sounds great. Finally after so many years a great delay pedal is here. To my ears and my Marshall's this is the best yet at a great price.
My main delay yesterday, today & always. :) amazing. With the toneprints you can get hours & hours of fun and when you create your own sounds with toneprint editor you really know that this tool is a beauty creation. With my corona & my hall of fame works very well.
What an excellent demo....and a completely and obviously well conceived, designed and made FX pedal. VERY versatile unit, with excellent sounds, features and generous range of editing with the toggle switches and choices of tone set-up on the base. Brilliant sounds from the overdrive pedals and great guitar playing. Thank-you. Probably the best review of anything I've ever seen.
Just picked up this pedal today, after walking into the store intending to get something else. I played with it for 25 minutes and was utterly convinced. Just being able to get a decent slapback without a lot of fiddling is almost worth it alone. I think that's what sold me (I love slapback) but I love the other settings as well. BTW, this video is great; it explains some things I hadn't yet figured out, like how to get a convincing reverse sound.
The Flashback is a great delay pedal with lots and lots of options. I was looking for a delay specifically to add size and warmth to my lead playing. Then I discovered a tube driven delay pedal and that's exactly what I was looking for. It was more expensive and has fewer delay options but, man, it sounds so warm. I still might pick up a Flashback for experimenting.
have this pedal since about 8 months now, and i have to say it's the best delay pedal i've ever tried. toneprint is really usefull and transforms a versatile pedal a source of infinite variety, and i think the delays on the flashback are even better than the ones on my tc g-sharp. great pedal for a great price and for absolutely everybody. the only bad thing about it is the loss of soundquality when using the looper, but it's good to have a looper and it's still good enough for a little jam.
Thank you so much for this video. Heading down to my music store next month to buy the Shaker Vibrato and Spark Booster and yes, this delightful little gem of a delay pedal. My DD-20 is already getting jealous. Dude, seriously good job at a reviewing this pedal. God bless.
@joelg125 Flashback Delay&Looper is not the same pedal as Nova delay........and although it doesn't have tap tempo, it features audio tapping so you can strum the tempo with your guitar. A big difference between Nova Delay and Flashback Delay&Looper is in the user interface. Flashback is more like a conventional stompbox, whereas Nova Delay gives you control over more parameters but is a bit more complex in programming. But they both sound awesome.
Got one and I love it... Thank you for this vid the pedal is sophisticated for how small it is and doesn't come with an instruction manual. The sales rep at GC was surprised to find out it that it had the ability to tap tempo with a pick. Nice to see some basic settings to play around with...
This might be simply one of the best delays ever made to current date. So many features at an awesome price! I am getting one as soon as possible. This raises the bar to all out there, even the tube ones with 2-3 features and 400€ price! The next step might be to give access to the players themselves to choose their own toneprint :))) You are doing a great work guys, keep it up!
Tore must be one of the best demo guys at the moment, togheter with Andy from PGS. One of the few people who I can be bothered with to watch the entire demo, and where you get a nice idea what the pedal can do. My Flashback will be coming in next week :D
@tcelectronic Saw your demo a week ago and immediately bought my flashback. My boss DD7 is now for sale :-) . I love most the sound and the very easy, intuitive way to get good results with flashback.
Great and very comprehensive demo. I watched it on my phone then walked into GC and bought it. I am testing it now - so far looks very good - I especially like MODulated delay - great for playing fingerstyle classical stuff on electric - I was looking for something like that for a while.
Wow, excellent introduction to the pedal. Not only did it make me want to buy it, I learnt a whole bunch of stuff about delay and cool stuff you can do with it. Gz!
Excellent! You are so appealing and cool in an "anti cool" way... the hat, your look, your accent, along with your fantastic playing. Wonderful! I'm hoping to find out more about you and your music etc. And yes, I'm trading in my carbon copy and getting one of these now! Thank you!
Who is this guy? He really knows what he's doing. Congratulations! One of the best demos I ever seen. I'm about to get the pedal, tc electronic should put an extra tap tempo swith on the pedal unstead using the guitar to catch the tempo, that's nice but you can't set the tempo while you're playing. Just saying. Great video.
Great sounds and flexibility. The USB and download toneprint is great, saves time. IMO this pedal is the best delay pedal I have heard yet. Great demo, it sold me.
@tumbleoverandlaugh If you use the drive of your amp, it fits best in the loop - Always have it after your drive, unless you like it the other way around, of course..
@poocoop - Thank you. - we found that tempo changes doesn't often occur in the middle of a song, most guitarist tend to tap the tempo before playing the song and doing it our way is more accurate than the standard way with a foot.. - but perhaps an interesting idea, to at least have the option? :)
Fantastic Delay pedal! Finally, something that has everything that I've always wanted in a pedal! Goes along great with my Dreamscape pedal! Thx TC! Well done!
That's true. If you want it to loop, you choose the loop option, if you want a delay type effect, you choose one of those. - Nevertheless, I'll take your comment to our developers.
bought one on Saturday! still need time to try it out!! also got my talk box saturday! this flashback sounds amazing as I'm looking for a bonamassa type delay!
@arva300178 Flashback Delay&Looper can loop up to 40 seconds, and have a delay time of 7 seconds, AND it have 7 diffrent delay types, PLUS TonePrint function that allows you to download custom made delays from some of the worlds best guitarists.spond to this video...
@Eoon I'd be pretty sure that this is in the effects loop of the amp. Otherwise you'd expect the loop to get overdriven along with his lead playing when he starts to play over the top of the loop. The effects loop is gonna let that loop keep playing un-effected by the preamp channel change.
DELAY IS MY FAVORITE GUITAR EFFECT. I PICKED ONE OF THESE BAD BOYS UP A FEW DAYS AGO AND IT SOUNDS GREAT. VERY WELL MADE AND VERSATILE. AND THE SOUND WELL JUST LISTEN TO IT HERE. HOOK IT UP TO A FINE TUBE AMP AND GUITAR ( I USE CARVIN GUITARS AND AMPS) AND YOU WILL BE GRINNING FROM EAR TO EAR.
I don't think it's crap :) Yes you have to turn up the FX knob, cause most players like to have the ability to control the loop volume.. If you want a great looper with a ton of possibilities, presets, recording features and so on - The Flashback isn't for you. (and you're looking at a very different price point) If you want one of the best and most innovative delay pedals ever build - Flashback is bang for the buck.. :)
@givemeajackson Thanks! - If you're turned on the 'Kill dry' switch, it might affect your dry signal. - The FX level should affect the volume of the loop, if I remember correctly. If you continue to have issues, I'd ask you to contact support, please. :)
I've read that you can't make a loop with this pedal's own effects. But you can use other pedals (distortion, for example, like he did), and loop it inside. It's the same with most delay's pedals (Boss, Digitech and others)
Really blown away by this delay pedal. This pedal is a bargain price wise, and that is coming from a full time working musician. Compact footprint, every delay you need, good price. Wish I had this one a year ago.

@LPMojoGL it's suhr pickups it's a DSH+ humbucker in the Bridge position, a V60LP singlecoil in the Middle and a DSH humbucker as the neck pickup.
This video made me buy it. Congratulations, TC Electronics, this is how you sale a product.
Arturo Álvarez yup sold another one here
DGAF tank happened to me too
me too... :)
Hey me too
another one
What kind of a schmuck puts up a thumbs down for a video like this? Great player, and great tutorial from someone who's not even a native a English speaker. Thanks, this was awesome to go through as I wait for my Flashback to arrive in the mail.
Very in depth demo of the pedal and also a good lesson on what the different types of delays actually sound like. Thanks mate!
Thank you for a very informative very professional demo. I usually hate all TC electronics pedals, I purchased a G system and sold it a week later because it ate wood. Got this for Christmas and didn't realize how badass this pedal really is! Great demo thank you
Very good informative demo of this great pedal. Much better than some on UA-cam. Thanks it has helped a lot.
Just got mine and it is by far the best sounding delay I have owned. The pedal just performs and sounds great. Finally after so many years a great delay pedal is here. To my ears and my Marshall's this is the best yet at a great price.

Thanks for the kind words, man!
Im having it. Its the best buy if ur looking for ultimate delay and looper. Loving it!
Thanks for the kind words, Joel. :-)
I bought the Flashback Delay on the strength of this demo and it's working very well for me.
Well then job well done, I guess! :-) Enjoy!
What an excellent demo....and a completely and obviously well conceived, designed and made FX pedal. VERY versatile unit, with excellent sounds, features and generous range of editing with the toggle switches and choices of tone set-up on the base. Bought this last week. An amazingly versatile pedal. The demo video is excellent, love the volume swells idea. Well done!
Thank you TC this was one of the best demos I have ever seen. I own the Ditto and it has changed my life thank you.
All I needed were the first 10 seconds to realize THIS is exactly what I am looking for. Thanks!!!
Just picked up this pedal today, after walking into the store intending to get something else. I played with it for 25 minutes and was utterly convinced. This has to be the most comprehensive demo of a delay pedal I've seen on youtube.
Great Job Tore !!
Better than guitarworld review demos...
cliffs of dover!

great tones and sound very bright and full of echoed chambers that livened up beautifully on the loop
This is an excellent video, and has opened my eyes to how much my TC delay pedal can really do (especially the pick delay setting). Thanks!
Not only is this pedal absolutely awesome, the video is very informative about all types of delays.
Thank you so much for this video. Heading down to my music store next month to buy the Shaker Vibrato and Spark Booster and yes, this delightful little gem of a delay pedal. My DD-20 is already getting jealous. Dude, seriously good job at a reviewing this pedal. God bless.
Been testing these pedals out, very awesome. That modulated delay sounds really cool!!
Very informative review of a very versatile, good sounding pedal. Thanks for the detailed video!

Best demo I’ve seen.
Great playing as well.
High five brother.
Probably the best gear demo video I´ve ever watched. Thumbs up!

I have this and a Hall Of Fame reverb. Superb pairing. Wonderful and lush in stereo.
I am testing it now - so far looks very good - I especially like MODulated delay - great for playing fingerstyle classical stuff on electric - I was looking for something like that for a while.
sounds like eric johnson
He must be danish haha. I'm a dane and we speek this weird kind of English 😂
Not Danish, just made me laugh.
Wow, excellent introduction to the pedal. Not only did it make me want to buy it, I learnt a whole bunch of stuff about delay and cool stuff you can do with it. Gz!
damn, this is the first modern delay ive wanted in ages. soooo much lovelinessss
Thanks a bunch! - We're mighty proud of it :) Have a nice weekend..
Excellent! You are so appealing and cool in an "anti cool" way... the hat, your look, your accent, along with your fantastic playing. Wonderful! I'm hoping to find out more about you and your music etc. And yes, I'm trading in my carbon copy and getting one of these now! Thank you!
Very good demo and very useful because I was totally lost with this pedal. Many thanks
Awesome demo, saved me reading a manual!
Sounds awesome, the Toneprint function is awesome I have ordered mine today can"t wait till it comes.
@v2012394 yes the looper has overdub features. You can even overdub your recording an unlimited number of times.
I really like the way this guy plays. And his hat.
Thank you for making this pedal!!!!!!!! I was going to purchase the TC Nova Repeater, but now I'm considering this. TC Delay's FTW!!!!!!
This is an excellent presentation. Now I knowhow I can use my pedal. THANK YOU
Great sounds and flexibility. The USB and download toneprint is great, saves time. IMO this pedal is the best delay pedal I have heard yet. Great demo, it sold me.
Delay is awesome and tone is amazing!
well, now I know what I want for Christmas! this pedal sounds soooooo good!
@InstrumentalofMe no, but you can get a quarter + dotted eight for that U2-ish sound.
this is the greatest demo i have ever seen!
@tumbleoverandlaugh If you use the drive of your amp, it fits best in the loop - Always have it after your drive, unless you like it the other way around, of course..
7:22 - Repeats get dagggaa and daggaaa :D
@poocoop - Thank you. - we found that tempo changes doesn't often occur in the middle of a song, most guitarist tend to tap the tempo before playing the song and doing it our way is more accurate than the standard way with a foot.. - but perhaps an interesting idea, to at least have the option? :)
@SkullaRed Yes of course you can use it with an acoustic guitar. (Although he guitar do need to have a pickup system)
I have one being delivered to me right now. Great video that helped me learn the operation before I even have it. Great job!!!!!!
@Elimnio It's a Suhr guitar.
Fantastic Delay pedal! Finally, something that has everything that I've always wanted in a pedal! Goes along great with my Dreamscape pedal! Thx TC!
Well done!
TC rocks! amazing delay,so versatile and small.
i wish you had uploaded this in HD (720 or higher) but I am already impressed...
That's true. If you want it to loop, you choose the loop option, if you want a delay type effect, you choose one of those. - Nevertheless, I'll take your comment to our developers.
One of few showing not himself but the gear and the sound. And very clever, intelligent way, too. Thumbs up, guy!
bought one on Saturday! still need time to try it out!! also got my talk box saturday! this flashback sounds amazing as I'm looking for a bonamassa type delay!
@manyaksi That is correct (but you can buy two of these and then you have both looper AND delay)
@rx350 - I think it is the setting displayed in the upper left corner. Looks/sounds like it. :)
@SONGSTICKS Thank you! - I'll tell Tore it's appreciated.
@rotosphere99 No but you can Audio Tap by strumming your guitar to tempo.
@arva300178 Flashback Delay&Looper can loop up to 40 seconds, and have a delay time of 7 seconds, AND it have 7 diffrent delay types, PLUS TonePrint function that allows you to download custom made delays from some of the worlds best guitarists.spond to this video...
For a second I thought Eric Johnson was playing at the intro. !@#$% amazing tone man, good job!
Awesome review man! This guy really knows his Git.
excellent presentation, I am getting one after watching this demo!
The best Flashback delay review, thanks!
The pedal is great. I love using the lofi setting in the theatre where i'm performing this week. Very ambient. Sounds great.
@Eoon I'd be pretty sure that this is in the effects loop of the amp. Otherwise you'd expect the loop to get overdriven along with his lead playing when he starts to play over the top of the loop. The effects loop is gonna let that loop keep playing un-effected by the preamp channel change.
Excellent demo,well done!!!
have ordered mine this week, can't wait to get it :D
I've heard a few negatives about digital delays bit this one seems to sound really good! I'm still deciding on delays though
There's many options. Have you checked out the obscura?
You play really well, especially that loop section!

I think you're right, but when and if is not something I know of.. And thanks a bunch for the kind words:)
Amazing demo
That's really a great presentation with a great guitar player as well! A lot of good, helpful informations! Great THANX!!!!
best TC delay out there great job
Just bought one after selling my Timeline, its on the way.
Tore not only does an excellent demo, but he plays a mean git-fiddle to boot!
I'm buying a Flashback.
Sold! I'm ordering one of these right now!! Go Denmark!!
Wow, Tore you make great demos!
Great lesson in how to use a delay effect in general, educated me a lot, thank you!
@Jamesgangster1 - I know how much he appreciates feedback, and especially this kind :D
I'll make sure to tell him to keep it up!
I've read that you can't make a loop with this pedal's own effects. But you can use other pedals (distortion, for example, like he did), and loop it inside. It's the same with most delay's pedals (Boss, Digitech and others)
Just bought one today. So very impressed with TC! :D
I own one and can only recommend it, great product! Thanks TC
