    I'm a reptile enthusiast and reptile keeper, and I'm here to try and give some more information about the spider ball python. Everything he said is true, and it's awful, but it's not unique to the spider ball. There are other morphs that experience the same issues that go completely unnoticed because everyone is focused on the spiders because it's the most famous. There are other ball pythons, and dozens of other species of snakes that experience the same issues but get absolutely no attention. Please do more research into this so that they get notice too. I'm a huge fan of the reptile community but we need to band together and make a change that affects all of the bad breeders not just the spider balls.

      If you're gonna say there's a bunch of other issues it would be a pretty good idea to reference which you're referring too. Most others have issues with breeding (like Desert females will egg bound and end up dying) or perhaps issues with Champagne and other morph combos. But what other snakes are you referring too.

      Sadly, Yamper I feel was bred moreso than natural. The pokemon world is a world that does not apply to our laws of physics, as electric-type pokemon have the ability to control electricity and expel tons of energy and managing to hurt the opponent greatly without having an exposed wound(referring to Lockstin's Electric-type Pokemon video). What my point is, is that pokemon based on breeds can be natural in this world, even the genetic disasters that are Corgis and Bulldogs can be considered natural. But what if some weren't, but Gamefreak just doesn't mention it? Will we get more breeds of dog pokemon? Obviously, we get them every gen, but I mean a very hurt and in-pain breed.

      And the breeders who dont breed snakes with neurological issues and try to avoid breeding snakes together that can possibly pass down health issues. While preventing inbreeding to the best of their ability by adding new blood every 2 generations. Are they still the same to you?👀 Also is it not better to put something to rest if it will live a miserable life.(euthenisation) sometimes birth defects happen by chance, cause some breeders do not intend to try having snakes with birth defects. However there breeders out there who do just do it for the money, regardless of the potential health issues from a clutch.

      Not like. That's exactly what dog breeders did and depending on the shadiness of an individual breeder still do (because as is so often pointed out, there's big money in it and some people care more for an easy profit than ensuring the creatures they helped create can function). Bull dogs literally can't use their scrunched up noses to breath. And all because people wanted dogs that keep their floppy, squished puppy features (which being puppy features should fade away as the animal grows).

      Try and see if you can find my comment. Now. Not to discredit the issues with certain breeding. But MOST improper morphs (like certain leopard geckos which develop cancer 100%) are flushed from the trade by most breeders (Of course some people are shady and poor). But for the most part Ball Pythons lack many of the issues. Spiders in particular while yes can be very bad. Is very much in the minority compared to the amount of animals who are healthy and don't have massive issues. Provided they aren't mass bred like they are currently I see no issues with them remaining in the hobby, and the fact he was saying it's for money is a poor idea since pet stores rarely sell spider morphs (most are small privately owned ones) and at reptile shows and MOST breeders only sell for 10-50 for a single genetic spider.

    • @onyxfrench-king611
      @onyxfrench-king611 4 роки тому +5

      Dilophoraptor Double-Crested-Thief the issue is the ease with which they’re bred. The spider trait is a dominant one, which is rather unlucky seeing as how the reason there’s no such thing as a pure spider ball python is because they don’t make it out of the egg. Ever. Breeding a spider morph to another spider morph tends to result in a lot of “slugs” (bad eggs) or eggs that, while they may be fertile, simply don’t survive the entire incubation process and are stillborn. But this also means that you only need a few female spiders and one or two males of any morph you want to breed a bunch of spiders very quickly, particularly if you stagger their brumation times(how snakes hibernate) to maintain a longer breeding season.

(Forgot if higher or lower for Super Cinniamon )

    Yet another reason why I love this channel: even as he surrenders to the moniker of "Poketuber", Lockstin still finds ways to tell us real things, and spread important messages to people who otherwise would never be exposed to such information, aka the people who need to be told the most. Like, think about it - you don't go to a Pokemon channel to learn about the cruelties of animal breeding, a person who would go to a Pokemon channel is not likely to also be a person who would willingly look this stuff up, and is more likely to be the sort of person who would unknowingly support the industry (note that I'm using the word "likely", this is obviously not true for everyone, but is true for probably a large portion of the viewers of this channel). Thanks to Lockstin, people who could easily go their whole lives not having any idea about this stuff have been exposed to a hard truth, and for that, I cannot respect the man enough.

      With all due respect, I'd say it's the opposite. While its true that people don't generally go to Pokemon channels to learn about real world topics, Pokemon fans tend to also be animal lovers, and channels like this that deep dive into the inner workings of the franchise attract a certain type of fan who are more interested in these sort of topics.
      Its younger fans who really benefit from this sort of surprise education, and Lockstin does a fantastic job of explaining why some pets aren't such a great idea while keeping it family friendly.
      Kids convincing their parents to let them have the latest 'cool' pet is a very real problem.

    I was extremely careful when choosing a breeder. I knew I wanted a Chinese crested because they had the temperament I wanted would do well in an apartment situation and have not been bred for so long that there are major complications. If I had found any cresteds for adoption I would have gotten one in a heartbeat because I didn't care at all about the pedigree.
    I found a great breeder who told me horror stories of dog shows including a crested breeder she despised who tried to remove the bottom canines of a crested with an underbite to try (and fail) to fool the judges.
    The breeder was also teaching her daughter how to breed for French Bulldogs because they have been working to try and undo the damage breeders have done to them. Their last girl gave birth to six of her eight puppies on her own before the vet needed to assist which is a very good sign for frenchies. They're also trying to breed for more open nasal passages for easier breathing and hopefully more longevity to the pups.

      There are wild bearded dragons in m yard all the time. They live in Sandy regions, and dug burrows when laying eggs. They reason why bearded dragons die of impaction is due to baby or juvenile investing sand in very high amounts
      Adults can survive having minor amounts of soil and sand in their digestive tract, and babies can on occasion
      The reason why they do tend to die is captive animals would be regularly fed on or near the sand in their enclosures, while wild bearded dragons can hunt in grassy areas, trees, rock outcrops ect. Its less the sand, and more reptiles aren't supposed to be caged, but here we are
      (Yes I keep reptiles, no not in sand, purely to remove the risk entirely. I admit we can't stop keeping them because captive bred animals can't survive in the wild, and bearded dragons for instance are now a global pet)

On one hand, one is purposfully bred to be neurologically impaired and lives in endless suffering to entertain humans who are ignorant to how snakes work, and those who breed them are nothing but cruel monsters. On the other hand, sandaconda is a fictional monster who's body has evolved (in the pokemon sense) to act like a shotgun, and since it's fictional, it would make "sense" that it evolved that way, so it lives its life the way it normally does, as a sand blasting ground type.

    I first learned in depth about snake breeding from an ex of mine, and thankfully he was a grumpy sort that hated people and instead put all his love out for animals and making sure they are well tended to.
    Anyone that purposefully creates a living and feeling creature that suffers endlessly... I can't comprehend thinking like that. Why would they do that just for money?

      "Why would they do that just for money?"
      You answered your own question. For money. Many people are simply evil and will do anything they think they can get away with to acquire more money and/or power. Those people naturally gravitate to fields like big business and politics, as they reward selfishness in legal and socially accepted ways, but others will just go into crime or small scale "easy money", such as selling abused animals.

      @tinalarntz5495 2 роки тому +1

      WOW seizures and migraines that mimic strokes? That's horrible, but I might be able to help with that. Have you ever heard of Kenneth E. Hagin? He was born so sick everyone said he'd die at 16 years old. He was bedfast and parrilized suffering heart attacks at that age too. 5 doctors including one from the Mayo Clinic said he'd die. About 12 preachers said it was God's will He died.
      But Kenneth saw in the bible that NONE of that was true. He read that thing and studied it intensively for an entire year. He found scripture after scripture that COUNTERED ALL THE PREACHING about God killing someone. He found John 10:10 where Jesus Himself said it was SATAN who steals kills and destroys. He found Acts 10:38 where it said Jesus healed EVERYONE who was OPPRESSED OF THE DEVIL. And He found James 1:13 where it said God WOULDN'T use anything He sees as EVIL to tempt or try anyone.
      Then he KNEW it WASN'T God trying to kill him or make him sick. It was THE DEVIL.
      As he studied more he found out why prayer never or rarely works. He read in Proverbs 4:20-22 that the power to heal WASN'T in prayer at all. But in the spoken Word of God.
      20 My son, attend to my WORDS; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
      21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
      22 For they are LIFE unto those that find them, and HEALTH to all their FLESH.
      Then he found in Mark 11:23-24 that it WASN'T God's job to heal us. Not all by Himself anyway.
      23 For verily I say unto you, That WHOSOEVER shall SAY unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he SHALL have whatsoever he SAITH.
      24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, BELIEVE that ye receive them, and ye SHALL HAVE THEM.
      Hear again Kenneth read that it was what you SAID that produced healing power. But ONLY if it lined up with the Word of God.
      As Kenneth kept studying he found many more lost secrets to biblical healing. Like how you needed to ACT on your faith or it would do nothing. Ever paralyzed man was healed AFTER they got up and walked. A woman who'd had a bleeding disorder for 12 years said she'd be healed iF she touched Jesus and DID touch Him to get healed. Jesus put clay in a man's eyes and told him to wash in the pool of siloam and he received his sight AFTER WASHING. This all demonstrated to Kenneth that acting healed was part of receiving it.
      Then he read that God doesn't even stop Satan on His own.
      7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. RESIST the DEVIL, and he will flee from YOU. (James 4:7)
      19 Behold, I give unto YOU power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. (Luke 10:19)
      In other words, the more he studied that bible of his, the more he started to realize why people don't often get healed. He even found hindrance that BLOCK healing in the form of doubt, wavering and unforgiveness. (Mark 11:23-26, James 1:6-7') He realized that a lot of it depended on him and what HE did in order to allow God to step in and heal him. So he stopped trying to make God do it all alone and started doing EVERYTHING he read. By the time the 16 year old turned 17, he walked away from death fully healed and lived to be 86.
      His church Rhema Bible Church still teaches people what saved Brother Hagin till this day. They're teachings saved my life once and got me healed of 21 chronic illnesses and counting. They healed my sister's foot when she broke in in less then a day. They healed my brother's seizures and my dad's damaged heart.
      Millions of people a year have been healed of something serious or chronic and had their lives saved through these same teachings. Why not look into them for yourself? God wants you to.
      17 And these signs SHALL follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
      18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the SICK, and they SHALL RECOVER. (Mark 16:17-18 Jesus telling His followers to EXPECT HEALING EVERY TIME they prayed.)
      Why trust the preachers over God Himself? Who knows God better then Jesus dose?

I have a Maine Coon and they're now really popular and popular breads have on average worse breaders. I searched for month, visited many breaders and talked to their vets. And now I have a quite natural bread. He's robust, no health issues at all and I love him.
      If I buy a dog, I will do the same. If you give money to bad breaders, they'll bread badly again and I don't want to support this.

    • @TheGoldenDunsparce
      @TheGoldenDunsparce 4 роки тому +2

      @@SamVimes27 Yeah, it can be extremely difficult to find a good breeder. Most breeders are doing it for the money unfortunately. If you find one selling animals online, at a pet shop, on the street side, at a farm, etc. they're either a puppy mill breeder (the worst you can get) or a back yard breeder (still pretty damn bad). If the puppy or kitten is already born when you contact the breeder and purchase it, it's not a professional breeder with the animal's health and bloodline in mind.
      If you want that, you'd have to find them through a club or other organization and be in queue to have a chance to acquire the offspring of the breeder's breeding pairs, long before the puppy or kitten is even conceived.
      You'd be buying your kitten or puppy because of its lineage, and may be required to show your pet or even breed your pet in order to continue its parents' bloodline. This isn't the norm. Most breeders don't sell their animals as pets, mostly because their focus isn't on making money, but breeding animals for show, performance, etc. The community can be really uppity and strict and exclusive, and reluctant to allow a first-timer to get a pic of their litter unless it happens to be a bad season and they somehow have an empty spot in the queue.
      You can of course get a healthy and happy kitten or puppy from a backyard breeder, and it'll have no abnormal issues in its life. It won't be able to be shown, but as a pet, who cares, right? The problem is that it's still a purebred, which means that its genetics have no diversity, hence why it and its siblings and its parents and its grandparents and its great grandparents etc etc etc all look alike. That's what a breed is. There are typical health problems in all purebred animals. Some aren't as devastating as others, but it exists. If you have a mixed breed (not just from two purebreds, but a variety), there's a much much lower chance of health issues. You can't "predict" who they'll be, but that's the tradeoff. Either you get a unique pet, or a clone.

      It’s such a huge shame that reptile rescues are very rare, and it’s something that’s really necessary because unfortunately there will always be people who won’t be able to take care of reptiles for their whole lives or for other circumstances. This goes for other exotic pets too. I hope for a future where more people can proudly say that they adopted or rescued their reptile or exotic pet rather than saying they bought it from a breeder. That’s not to say that breeders aren’t totally unnecessary, but we are in need of more options. It also prevents people from simply releasing them into the wild, which is extremely wrong and harmful to the environment!
