Pokemon didn't wanna give wailord a gigantamax because let's be honest if they did
*there would be NO pokemon world to begin with*
That thing would be Absolute Thiccness.
Soon as it started to Gigantamax the trainer responsible is like
.......what have I done......the world shall be no more lol
They also made it tiny as heck... GameFreak hates Wailord :c
The thing is a lot of Pokémon aren’t drawn to scale. When you use Eternanus in battle in looks a lot smaller than it’s supposed to be.
@@mastershockvalue6499 Yeah and the saddest part is that they're scaled in the overworld. Someone hacked Eternatus to appear in the wild area and it's huge, just like in the cutscene.
So, obviously, the tech is there. GF just couldn't be bothered.
If Team Rocket's Meowth doesn't Gigantamax at some point in the Sword Shield anime, I'll riot.

What about Gigantamax Bulbasaur?
If bulbasaur could g max his grass type g max move would have ‘Won’t be affected by attract moves of the opposite gender’ as its secondary affect.
Side note: coalossal and charizards gmax moves don’t disappear when the opposing Pokémon faints or switches out. The flames and coals will stay on the field for their duration and will continue to deal 1/8 damage to their next Pokémon
Second side note: sandstorm does 1/16 damage while volcalith does 1/8 damage. Spdef boost from sandstorm kinda just makes that tiny detail matter less tho
Maths
It's not even really a detail that matters since Coalossal is a pokemon that wants to be in the sun, not sandstorm. Sp def boosts are ok, but not exactly important.
Machamp gmax can be useful if you have a double battle if you have a special attacker
Thanks
I would have my coalossal know sandstorm and use that before i gmax, then use my gmax attack

I find that G-Max moves that have a Damage over time effect are helpful for Raid Battles, because you get extra damage while the barrier is up
They are also amazing in vgc the way mikey explains wild fire makes it seem like it only affect one mon but I affects all for 6 turns doing 1/6 of their health every turn, gmax wildfire made charazard amazing in competitive again, and that’s just one move

@@guappy2saucy752 you have given me the image of Michael's face actually gigantamaxing and growing a beard, I didn't need this
HOLY S***
Oh God
For Charizard specifically, G-Max IS superior (especially in doubles) because of the extra DoT that lasts for 5 turns. Especially since you're running a sun team overall in many cases of using G-Max 'Zard.
Well it lasts for 4 turns instead if 5, but I agree. 1/6 damage per turn is huge especially in double battles, it's basically dealing 2/3 health pools worth of damage on two pokemon slots (except for enemy fire types), meaning that overall it does damage worth of over one enemy pokemon. An indeed, you'd run Torkoal or Ninetales along Charizard anyways, so who cares about Max Flare.
With Coalossal and Volcalith it's even better, becuase Coalossal can also have Max Flare if you absolutely want to set a beneficial weather for it. And Sandstorm will also hurt friendly pokemon just as it will enemies (and the damage is only 1/16 instead of 1/6), unlike Volcalith.
A classic Snorlax combo was Belly Drum, Rest and a Chesto Berry. Now with Max Replenish you're able to recover your health and wake up in the same turn more than once per battle
True but Rest won't work again until it returns to normal size. But it is really formidable, I plan to experiment with it here soon

The majority of pokemon players do not do competitive battling (at least that's what I assume). I hunt shiny and gigantamax pokemon for their looks and specialness, I couldn't care less whether they're actually inferior to their regular versions. @@MayHugger I know most Ghost type are special attackers, but I feel that the physical types that benefit from this move (like Dragapult, Mimikyu, Dhelmise, Giratina if it comes in D/P remakes etc.) derive far more benefit from it than special attackers would from a special defense drop, and so GF was right in making it a physical oriented move

G-Max Cuddle actually sounds less impressive than Extreme Evoboost. The former does sound more adorable though.
Looking back at the descriptions you made about most of the "useless G-max" they're actually usefull in the context of raid battles. That's probably the point of them being in the game.
The entry-hazard ones like Stonesurge are useless in raids though.
It's mostly singles vs. Doubles. Many amazing moves in doubles are useless in singles and vice versa.
I have been informed that G-Max Wildfire hurts any non-fire type Pokemon on the opposing side, even once the initial target is switched out. While that is better than I originally thought, I still feel that sunlight is far more beneficial to Charizard. Therefore my opinion that G-Max Charizard is worse is unchanged.

Most 1v1 competitive players run defog and get rid of their own rocks at the same time just to re set them again later on anyways. Sometimes not even re setting their own depending on how the battle went.
I’ve thought the same thing about Charizard when i fought leon. Sun is great, and Fire spin is just.. Eh.

@Zorro Sarkar The only way to get it is via it’s pre-evolutions, Dreepy or Drakloak, and those have the absurdly low spawn rate of 1% at the lake of outrage. So you can’t really be blamed if you didn’t actively try to search for one. I really wanted one so I went to the lake of outrage and within 5-10mins a Drakloak spawned at lvl60 so I just rare candied it once and it evolved into Dragapult. So if you do want a Dragapult, go to the lake of outrage and search until you find a Dreepy or Drakloak, and then get it to lvl60 to evolve it into Dragapult which should be easy because assuming you beat the game, all wild area spawns will be lvl60 so you will only have to rare candy it twice if it’s a Dreepy or once if it’s Drakloak. If you haven’t beaten the game, then well just add Dreepy/Drakloak to your party and wait for it to evolve. Note: To get to the lake of outrage you must have beaten Gordie/Melony and you’ll get the water bike on your way to Spikemuth, and then once you’ve got it you can go to Hammerlocke Hills and there will be a lake to the right, cross that lake to the big island (it’s really a peninsula but i’ll just say island for clarification) and in those patches of grass you should find Dreepy/Drakloak.

Me: gengar is in my top ten favorite pokemon!
Michael: Next we have "Gigantimax Gengar".

I agree with most of these if you are talking about singles but the weather setting can be taken over by a partner Pokémon and they also depend on what the rest of your team is

I like garbador type
My favourite type is personally the pokemon type
The fact that it's Electabuzz type and not Pikachu type is pretty hilarious
Yeeeeaaaa no it didn’t
This should be updated with the new G-Max forms introduced in IoA. Would be interesting to get your take on those ones as well.
G max Orbeetle is really good in doubles if used properly. The accuracy boost is mainly for teammates rather than Orbeetle itself. And it's easy to pivot to them since it has u-turn.

Duraludon... DEPLETION!
In most Showdown matches, a player will have to make one or two prediction-calls. Do I keep Quagsire in and hope they go for a Water-type move to trigger my ability "Water Absorb"? Or do I switch to Abomisnow in anticipation of a Grass-type move?
If a player doesn't switch out to a better option, we have three applicable reasons: Either the better option was defeated quickly, the player didn't anticipate this counter, or the player isn't experienced enough to recognize the utility there is in switching.

There should be an Electric-Bug(or flying) type Pokémon called “butterfry”. It is a butterfly, but it’s antennas are kinda like pikachu’s tail, and have lightning bolt shaped antennas
If it's called ButterFRY, I'd say theming it around the fire type seems more logical. Could be a future regional variant...
Fun Fact: Gigantimax Kingler is the first Gigantimax Pokemon ( outside the Pikachu and Eevee that you get for playing Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee ) that I got in my copy of Pokemon Shield. Pretty good Gigantimax Pokemon to get as my first one ;)

I don't care If it's good or not I just want them all because I am obsessed them pokemon
cool 1 That’s cool but he’s going over how they are in battle
Yeah that doesn't makes sense to me either
I actually built a stat-based competitive team around Gigantamax Lapras. It involved the Ninjask method of stalling to raise the speed stat, but taking it a leap further by passing the baton to one of two pokemon depending on the kind of attack anticipated; Dubwool if physical, Togekiss if special. I use Dubwool with enhanced speed to then boost Defense with Cotton Guard, Togekiss to raise Sp Def with Amnesia. Dubwool also has Body Press to deal incredible damage with maxed Defense. Once the defensive stats are raised, the baton gets passed to Umbreon. Umbreon is already a tank, so it's about as invulnerable at this point as it can possibly be, and it uses Work Up to raise the offensive stats, but I also keep it equipped with a weakness policy to speed that process along, especially since my opponent is hard pressed at that point to use supereffective hits. Finally, the baton is passed to my ace, Lapras, who at this stage is a fucking god and uses G-Max Resonance to protect itself even further, plus its ability protects it from critical hits. It also has a moveset that covers every one of its weaknesses. Admittedly, the downside of this team is that sending out this god Lapras is quite the achievement. It's not hard to do if you can correctly anticipate your opponent's actions, but it can be effectively destroyed if your opponent breaks or disrupts the chain, but having done the math, I've found the pros of this strategy to far outweigh the risks. Believe it or not, what makes this strategy most difficult to execute is that I'm about four for five on people just rage quitting.
Gmax move: has a very obvious and useful benefit

“No other Pokémon get steel stealth rocks”
Spikes:
*am I a joke to you?*
Spikes aren't a Steel-Type Stealth Rock.
Spikes aren't Steel Stealth Rocks. Spikes don't take into account type effectiveness, while GMax Copperajah's do
It would be cool if Steel Spikes was a move that could be more diverse
Can't wait to hear your opinions on Gigantamax Rillaboom, Cinderace and Inteleon.
A few things that where overlooked
Machamp: You Really did undermined how much boosting moves are used in competitive, with things like a calm mind, and Bulk up or even Assault vest, being part of almost every battel(yes even in doubles where Boosting moves aren’t as popular but They do see occasional play). So I think Chi-Strike should hav been a tossup
Pikachu, Eevee and Meowth: You’re not gonna be using these Pokémon unless you’re using the Gigantamax, why would you use Pikachu to set up electric terrain when you can use Tapu Koko. You’re never going to use the Dinamax of these Pokémon because They’re too weak to be used normally. The Gigantamax automatically wins because you’re never going to use the Dynamaxes of these Pokémon
Drednaw: Stealth rocks Probably the most influential thing to ever be put to competitive Pokémon other than weather in generation five, being able to set up rocks for three turns means that the enemy cannot Rapid spin or defog them for three turns, and they can’t even switch the Pokémon in because it’ll probably die to Drednaws attack, and by the time your Dynamax is up You can switch into something that will counter there defogger, because with team preview it’s pretty easy to tell what’s a defogger. So then the enemy has to make the decision do I risk not out speeding and losing my defogger just to have a chance to get rid of the rocks, or do I switch out and have to deal with Rocks later. While rain does help because of Swift swim, Dreadnaw Still has a pretty bad special defense And seeing as water which is mainly a special attack type, getting a 50% boost is not going to help him because he gets no coverage for water types
Machamp's Chi-Strike being stackable should have been mentioned as well. It's the only crit ratio booster in the game that can be stacked with itself.
What you basically said about Pikacu, Eevee and Meowth, was that they are novelty G-Max forms. It doesn't matter what their move is, because you don't have them because they're good in battle, you have them because they're cool and unique.
As for Drednaw, I agree that rocks are impactful (at least in single battles). But they are not so important that you should use your Dmax/Gmax for them. Stealth Rocks are usually set early on in the battle, while you certainly don't want to use your Dynamax/Gmax right away in a single battle, so the move is not very synergetic. And since Swift Swim can very potentially let you sweep a big chunk of the enemy team, it's too strong to pass just for an entry hazard that could be set without spending a valuable single use asset. Anyway, why is Drednaw's G-max move Water instead of Rock type, since it sets Stealth Rocks? If it was Rock, it would be really synergising with Swift Swim, since it would enable you to use your second STAB while Gmaxed without changing the weather. Swift Swim Drednaw is a scary sweeper in singles, but using Max Rockfall is usually a bit problematic.
In double battles, I guess Gmax Drednaw might be a bit better than regular, since you'll be setting the rain with Pelipper or Politoed anyway and thus wouldn't really care about the effect of Max Geyser. In doubles it's also much more common to Dmax right at the start, so you could get a bit of benefit from the rocks that you wouldn't otherwise be setting, because they are not that impactful on doubles. really could screw up a player that has for example a Charizard on the back, and most likely isn't prepared with boots, defog or rapid spin. But the effect would be generally quite weak compared to something like Volcalith or Wildfire, which are great in double battles.
@@wombat4191 if you’re using Drednaw on your team that means you are probably already using Peliper or Politoed which auto sets up rain, you don’t need to use one of Drednaws Dynamax turns to set up rain if its already set up, even in Singles where Peliper is used a lot. Being able to set up pretty much uncontested Rocks later in the game if they’ve been removed via Rapid spin or Defog is very nice utility. Especially if you’re able to attack for huge damage, potentially grabbing a KO, while setting them.
Hears about gravity....

I THANK you for educating me on these great videos.. I appreciate it
There is an effect for G-Max Wildfire. After the move is used, it damages all the Pokemon which are sent out for the next 4 turns. Sort of like spikes
Actually, it inflicts damage over time over time to anything on the opponent's side of the field. So like fire spin, except no trapping
Who else thought that Michael was really sarcastic when he talked about Gengar
Well, Sandaconda's ability kicks up a sandstorm whenever it's attacked anyway.

@@308719236 I've seen it on every Sandaconda I've faced in the raids, so YAY!!!
Hustle must be the bane of Michaels existence. All moves are 50% accurate
As a note, the Terrain effects only give a 30% damage boost in Gen 8, as opposed to the previous 50%.

i think that with pikachu's g-max move, if it affects multiple opponents that are in battle, that means it is probably double battle so you could have a pokemon like pincurchin to set up electric terrain and then use g-max volt crash to paralyze the opponents
G-Max Wildfire and Stonesurge probably would be better tho if you're already using a Sun or Rain setter. Also G-Max Gravitas best use would probably be to make sure you get the full benefit of Sticky Web since Orbeetle can use that move. Still situational tho.
