      In Australia, people often stop to check the pouch of road killed kangaroos , koalas, wombats , for pouch babies that may have survived and can be rescued . So if that was his reason, it's normal.

    • @MermaidMakes
      @MermaidMakes 11 днів тому +20

      No man, come on. That’s not a red flag…maybe a yellow flag when paired with other behaviors. Plenty of people have interest in animals, and I stop to look at dead animals because I want to figure out what it is, also if I’d be able to preserve any of the bones. Also, if it’s an opossum or another marsupial in the spring/ summer you investigate because you want to check their pouch, to be able to save any surviving babies. Also, an animal could still be injured and alive, and might still survive if it is rescued.
      Shocker: I majored in zoology in college. Animals interest me.
      I’m not defending him, just the many many people who are good people, and are judged because they don’t adhere to societal norms

      Going a bit out on a limb here, but its quite possible that Carolyn might have suspected something as "off" from the point of him being a hostage with her. Possibly it was her gut instinct, or the Holy Spirit letting her know that Julian is in fact the perp.

      That's not love thats lust. If he really loved her he would have waited until marriage, he would have cared about her safety both mentally and physically to not go on with his stupid plan, he would have taken responsibility instead of trying to flee the country. This piece of garbage didn't love her.

    I thought this sounded familiar as Mr Ballen covered this story about 2 years ago. This genius also had a cellphone he brought which was in that backpack as he didnt think he'd be out there nearly as long as they were because as soon as she said yes 😂 it was suppose to be a wrap , then he'd just call mommy & daddy explaining why he did this and tell them basically how it was so worth it as she said YES of course😮 so come get them now and pick up a small cake and a few balloons while on the way .😊 I guess he didn't realize most trees don't have plugs built inside them to charge cellphones & that's why he had to go in the road and flag someone down & yes almost completely naked. He even asked her supposedly to come walk with him but 😮that wasn't happening. 😅 What a douchbag.....😂😅

    OMG! I was JUST thinking about this case the other day! I remember when it happened and when the details came out it was all so bizarre. Julian was just a massive weirdo. Down that way (Gippsland) there are sadly many dead animals on the road so stopping to look at them is very unusual behaviour. I forgot about the whole fleeing to India part though. It is almost comical. I too suspect someone helped him obtain the fake passport. I'm surprised he was deported though. There's far worse crimes committed by people who aren't citizens that we don't deport, but that is a whole other issue. This was definitely a very serious crime though and must have been terrifying for Carolynne and I sure she is still affected by it to this day.
