    I went to school with the girl. And every time she would have her period she tells people she's miss carrying.She told me once that she had a miscarriage during our passing period?! I asked her what it looked like and she said “just like a teeny tiny baby”, at that point I was convinced she was lying every time And we told her no , you're just having your period she had something wrong with her mentally.

    I'm a doula and this scam is very common in many doula communities however I dont know anyone who has actually gone to a client's home and supported them without payment or proof of pregnancy. Doulas are more inclined to validate our clients' feelings and experiences so this woman chose the perfect targets. If you're a doula or want to be one you have to meet the client in person before they are due and have boundaries in place to protect yourself (payment, in-person meetings, contracts, not taking anyone who is 37weeks+ etc), nothing would make me go to a stranger's house who claims to be in labor, but I do empathize with the victims. This woman manipulated them and tugged on their heart strings, anyone called to do this work can relate to that, I hope they get justice.

    I had a roommate who had a tenuous relationship with reality. She was a low-level administrator at a hospital and accused several doctors of making inappropriate advances at her (turns out, they didn’t). She would also follow me on dates and say several men were stalking her. I had to move out. The next time I saw her she was in a mental health facility, which was probably the best place for her. She was very childlike, but her accusations almost cost a couple of doctors their careers, so she wasn’t harmless.

In the hospital we put it on the chart in a place that will be noticeable when they go to the next hospital. And that way people, including women, only go into their room with at least two staff. Also it's never a sane person, typically they're either the Karen type, Munchausen's, or borderline. Also also they usually do other false claims first before jump into that one.

    @nanettevantriesteharder2469 8 місяців тому +854

    To be clear, Dr. Grande's video paraphrased quotes from the victimized doulas who were duped into performing perineal groin massages with two fingers upon a physically grotesque and morally repulsive sexual predator who was born a biological woman, but who was not actually pregnant. (There are some biological women who are predators, too.) "The trauma caused by being exposed to her naked body was severe. Some victims were not certain that recovery would ever be possible." My goodness . . . . My heart breaks for the victims of this crime.
    After reading the following comments, in no way do I believe that Dr. Grande was fat shaming overweight members of human society en masse. That would be falsely conflating (i.e., merging of two or more sets of information, texts, ideas, etc. into one) the evidence. Whether they use politics, intellect, or religion, a sense of moral superiority often drives people to virtue signal through the justification of their own core values, belief systems, attitudes, and behaviors. Thus, everybody is entitled to his or her opinions, but not every opinion is equally valid. It is the outcome of one's temporal personal decisions that matter in the long run.

      I think because the Crown Counsel didn’t have that as their sentencing option. The judge was not happy with their choice of sentencing, and he wanted her to have stiffer punishments and for the sentencing to recognize and help mitigate recidivism or future repeat offences. Maybe it was part of the plea agreement or something. The SA charges should never have been dropped for the plea agreement either, but they were. I think a jury would’ve thrown the whole book at her and found her guilty of pretty much every charge, though. And now that she HAS reoffended, perhaps she can be properly sentenced once she is found guilty of these new charges. Because she definitely IS.

Acting it out isn't what she's after, it's tricking others into believing her, same with other munchies that fake chronic conditions/cancers etc. Unless they're doing it only for financial gain, most of the time it's the attention, sympathy, and knowing they've successfully convinced people into believing their lies that they get off to. In addition to what you first mentioned, they offer important advocacy and help women decide when to go to the hospital or when to call the midwife. I don't know any doulas who facilitate religious transformation. Doulas' value lie in their continuous presence, help with comfort measures during labor, knowledge of position changes that may facilitate labor progress, and advocacy in the hospital. Some specific skills such as hypnobirthing or hypno babies techniques help by facilitating a trance-like calm through guided meditation and positive affirmations... I may not be describing that exactly correctly but it's close. Other doulas incorporate yoga and breathing prenatally to help during birth, and some specify that they are Christian.

    We have a patient like this in our long-term care facility. Has been there for close to 40 years.
    Moderately mentally disabled with agitation, anxiety, Borderline Personality Disorder with attention-seeking behaviors.
    Would accuse other patients or staff of various assaults, despite patients being physically incapable (paralyzed, bed bound) or not present. Accused staff coming to assault her on their day off and not present. Yet she would often randomly assault others when she thought staff were not looking. Made frequent false claims of miscarriages and pregnancies. She would also purposely throw herself on the floor in a public area with many people around. These behaviors continued and increased in severity as she got older. Even being assigned a mental health worker for 1:1 attention did not help improve her behaviors.
    Eventually she was prescribed a small once daily dose of an anti-psychotic and an anti-depressant which was successful in calming these behaviors.

    I’m in Canada, and I have followed this vile, stomach-churning, twisted tale for awhile. And when she was convicted and then reoffended, it wasn’t as surprising as it was frustrating and sickening. One thing: I don’t think that Doulas should be allowed to touch the client. They aren’t doctors with a patient; they are merely clients. Psychiatrists can’t touch their patients here, why should some lower-level, quasi-medical practitioner who has no government or public health oversight be able to?! And especially as far as perineal massage?! Come on! Maybe this case will force the issue and they will either not be allowed to touch the client or they will have to become regulated. That could’ve at least limited some of the horrible trauma she inflicted on those poor women. I think she got off far too easy as far as punishment. Prevention is also necessary in her case and that means being found guilty and paying for every single charge.

She should have had a person she knows come with her to Kaitlyn house only after she spent time with Kaitlyn in a public place a few times. Also, staying with her for two days put her at risk if anything happen to the “baby” she could have been held liable. The doula should know when to call it quits and insist on the patient going to the hospital.
    EDIT: To the people commenting that you had doulas coming to your house on the first meeting and everything worked out fine I’m glad it worked out for you but that’s still a gamble you took without vetting them first before allowing them to know where you & your partner live. I mean.. wow.. I'm impressed. In 100 years I don't think I'd ever think up something this crazy. Like if you said this lady is crazy, what do you think it is? I'd die on an island before I said "Messing with people who are trying to make labor and birth easier.. "
    Insanity really is fluid and fills every crack.

    I was wondering if the fact that all of the fake pregnancies were a result of sexual assault, could mean she’s reliving some sort of trauma. Maybe not even hers directly, I had a friend whose exgirlfriend’s mother was spiked (nothing happened thankfully) and she would pretty frequently act as if she’d been spiked when we were out, or would leave last and later tell us her drink was spiked. Her mother had never made a big deal of getting spiked, but it had apparently really really upset the ex-girlfriend at the time
