I understand! I know them also!!
Lmao crazy eyes 🤣
I have to say that most people who are legitimately crazy have crazy eyes!!!!
In my opinion, Megan should have gotten life with no parole. That is pure evil.
I agree life with no parole, not just for her punishment, but also to protect innocent people if she would get out, I doubt she could change she may not steal another baby plus strangle the mother , but if she’s capable of doing that, she’s capable of doing something else violent.
I agree 100%!
I think it should have been a death penalty case
I despise all these plea deals that give monsters like this less time in prison. Ridiculous
I dunno, 26 years minimum, this doesn’t seem like one of those pleas I’d wave around as an example of a bad deal
Life should have been the deal. 26 years is laughable.
@@angelabordack25 years is “life” unless stated ‘natural life’ at least last I knew
Please agreements typically are for the better. They prevent criminals from escaping justice on a technicality or getting a not guilty verdict. Or shortening their sentence under appeal, prosecutors usually choose agreements only when there is a lack of evidence for a probable guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
How can can kill someone then in the future be set free ? Beyond belief
It's mind-blowing how these psychos think they can get away with crimes like this.
Yeah, there is no way she wsn't going to get caught, which makes it all the more tragic...Heidi died for no reason at all.
I agree!! The craziest one of all is that Taylor broad! She already had a kid so she knew what happens at the hospital…but steals a baby…CUTS out a baby… then goes to hospital and says look what I had! 🤦🏻♀️ like who is getting away with that?? Literally no one. Ever. 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Narcissism
Psychos is the operative word there. Their psychosis somewhat disconnects them from reality to the point where they think they can get away with what any sane person would realise is ridiculous to even consider. Maybe they have some elements of magical thinking as Dr G sometimes mentions. Whatever her issues were I know a sense of entitlement is a massive understatement. 🤷♂😕

That poor mother, that poor baby. No one who does this should ever be free again. Thank you Dr. Grande for your look into this sad case!😢
These women that kill mums and steal their babies ....just the vilest form of evil ...sad one today Dr G ..so sad..
I just came across another case of a woman killing a pregnant woman and cutting the baby out.
That is probably the absolute height of horror.
@@CONTACTLIGHTTOMMYI have heard of those cases. So sickening.
Murdering a new mother to steal her baby should be an automatic life sentence with no chance of parole.
Thank you for telling us this very sad story. RIP Heidi 💔
Meghan doesn't deserve to ever be released from prison. She sentenced Heidi to a death sentence and deprived her and her children of the life they could have had. With a friend like Meghan who needs an enemy! Shane's reaction may have been a nervous reaction based distress and may not have revealed his real emotions. I have seen someone nervously laugh when traumatized when they were actually very upset.
Unable to process
I have always had a "blank affect" especially when I am sad. Even sometimes when I am just feeling good. My fiance always used to call me Stone Cold. Now, he understands that it's just the way I am. Anyways, I think this lady is fucked up in the head!!!
When I asked a childhood friend how her grandma was, she said she'd died. I starting laughing, then cried. I don't know why. I felt awful for laughing. Never had that reaction to other deaths. So yeah, not everyone reacts the same in a situation, not even the same as themselves.
@@nixm9093 It was a nervous reaction. It may seem strange to most people but I have seen it before. I wonder if it's embarrassment for almost starting to cry but it somehow turns into nervous laughter instead? I don't know.
@@dissidentfairy4264 it could be, many males are taught not to cry
She planned the murder for nine months then carried it out. Know your friends!
Why would they give her a plea bargain when the bidy was in her trunk?
Easier for the prosecution to not take it to trial.
Exactly!!
She should have life without the possibility of parole. She is extremely dangerous!
I agree!
Ikr... I don't understand all these light sentences I've been seeing lately it's crazy!!! She is a danger to society!
She should've already had a needle in that arm!
That poor mum. And poor baby growing up without her mum. Just devastating.
Another thing to consider when gauging people’s demeanor during television interviews is the fact that they are being interviewed by a stranger on camera during an already stressful time. All of your social insecurities are amplified
Why was there a plea deal? What jury would find her innocent? Her potential to get out is an injustice.
The plea deal may have been:
To avoid the costs associated with a trial
A plea is a "sure thing" . Every trial is a wild card no matter the evidence, and a guilty plea usually ensures appeals which drag out for years and cause more grief for the family.
Especially in Texas! For murderers it’s usually a slam-dunk case
I mean I've seen plenty of plea deals where they still get life in prison with no parole. They're just avoiding the death penalty. Or you know skipping trial.
Lazy lawyers avoiding trial. The justice system don’t give af, 😢
RIP Heidi 💔
Horrible, horrible crime.
Yes and God bless her family.
How HORRIBLY GRUESOME and heartless. She belongs in prison FOREVER!
*What an evil cow.* She saw what she could never have and decided to murder the only person who ever truly cared about her while stealing her child and ruining the lives of all involved.
Sometimes, people like this are outcasts for good reason!
I'm 10 seconds into this, but your "cow" comment tells me it's gonna be a winner.
Yeah no kidding. People have intuition about who to stay away from
It's interesting what he said about women as young as 14 steal babies.
I wonder if there are any stories out there of 14 year olds taking babies?
😂🐄😂
@Neillan You sound like one of them.
I have three children and I have never felt more vulnerable than when I was very pregnant or with an infant at a store. There will always be some crazy person who wants what you have and will stop at nothing to get it.
This. When we have our kids with us we are always a target because criminals know if they get between us and our kids we will do anything they say
Any chance of parole is ludicrous.
Yeah, mothers tend to forget things like that...
She killed a mother, a wife, a daughter... How is her sentence even remotely close to justice?
Between the ages of 14 and 48? Well, that really narrows it down.
The data is most likely based off of case studies
Women of childbearing age, roughly. Makes sense.
@jordonm5675
The range is most likely derived by using the general child-bearing years. There are relatively few females who bear children when they are under 14 years old or over age 48.
@@wasistist
Your comment did not show up when I was making mine. I obviously agree.
Right 😄 And how about that higher weight to height ratio?
Dude...this is evil in its purest form.
That monster is in consideration of becoming a free woman in the future. Let that sink in, people…
Right around the time this happened, my daughter found a BEAUTIFUL dog. She named her Margo. Turns out her name was Luna. Freaked me out when I heard this story
This story is so disturbing on so many levels. The fact that they had been "friends" since their teens, but all the while, Meghan was so deeply jealous of Heidi. Killing Heidi - looking her in the eyes while choking the life out of her, must've been such a sad, scary moment for Heidi- the ultimate betrayal. Magan should rot in prison forever! What happened to baby Margot?
Baby Margo has a father that laughed on the screen….
Maybe he will give up for adoption. The guy did not look like a bright dude. On the other hand, there is an older sibling the 6yo brother for Margo. Maybe the father will keep her….Horror. Just pure evil this friendship with murder.

2:56 bro... That is ONE hell of a tweaked out mugshot. Wow.
Homegirl is LOCKED IN.
Literally.
How about being an aunt? Killing the mom was tragic and so unnecessary! Just be important in the child's life and help the mom!
Or just like, not and instead go live your life doing something else without killing anyone
You have a healthy way of thinking. Magen did not.
She was Not a "normal" person.
@@kelb6073 nothing wrong with being a good aunt, or godmother, and helping the mother, but also having outside interest of your own, like a job, and hobbies.
There’s many women that can’t have children for some reasons that would like to in a good way help their sister, friend, or other relative, and are definitely good people that way not all are despicable like that woman was

I learned to repress tears and emotions as a child and I rarely cry. I sometimes laugh when I am upset as well. Most men are also taught to repress their emotions and that’s why I think alot of them come across this way. The emotions have to come out somehow. This is a very sad case.
Yes, many people in past generations were taught to repress crying. The emotions can come out in different ways including indifference and even laughing which may seem bizarre in generations where this was less common
How this woman thought that she would be able to pull this off is really bizarre to me.
Rule of thumb: If the marriage or relationship is on rocky ground, double up on birth control methods. Edited to add: I didn't mean to blame the victim. There are just so many stories of bad relationships & unexpected pregnancies.
That was my first thought, her relationship was going south so she faked a pregnancy to guilt him into staying.
If relationship is on rocks, just stop using other party for sex and quit a relationship. They weren't married, the fact they shared a house as roommates after "break-up" is crazy
@@magdam8290 That would certainly be the BEST response for sure.
Just what I was going to write, if you don’t know you’re gonna stay in the relationship then you should use birth control or no sex because then once the woman is pregnant or you’re going to be a father then you’re gonna be attached to the other person for the rest of your life
Maybe you don’t have to live with him or her but you have to always either help out financially and if you’re good, father or mother always see the child socially
Your work ethic is burning me!
Awful woman she should never be released.
Along with the awful men
Some people wear their derangement on their faces.
Luna is just three letters shy of lunatic. There always seems to be a bit of one, here.
Very interesting information about infant abduction, Dr. Grande. Thanks so much for your informative and entertaining videos.
I was once in a situation where I ended up holding a newborn before the grandparents. I felt SO awful, apologized profusely and passed baby on immediately. I was so embarrassed! I never would have knowingly done that!!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed the stare. Eyes are called the window to the soul for a reason. A cold stare is, at the very least, something to pay closer attention to.
A woman with a combover...thats a first for me.
Doc, can you analyse the Wisconsin River stabbing incident that happened recently?
The statistics Dr. Grande presented were fascinating...
To do this to one of the only people in the world who loved you as a life friend and trusted you so much is really impossible for me to relate to on any level. All those months of being prepared to kill your friend and steal the baby. That’s an ugly level of premeditation.
Over 200 views 4 minutes in. I remember when….
Good show on your success, Dr. Grande 😊
2000 in 20 minutes. It scales.
Dr. Grande is a solid dude. We trust him. He is brilliant. I disagreed with him only a couple of times. But he is forgiven 😉
Kept the body in the trunk…guess she hadn’t thought deeply about the body-disposal part
Yeah, that STINKS when you leave out some planning!
Thanks for referencing the science as you used to - definitely enjoy your scientific take, and are big fans of your older vids for this reason.
More science, less alliteration 😊
This woman should have been locked up for life with no parole.
Sounds interesting! It’s Grande time. ❤ Thank you for all the great videos, Dr. Grande.❤❤ We find them interesting, informative, and calming. ❤
Dr Grande's ASMR voice causes me to fall asleep, so I have to watch during the day. I have listened to this video 3 or 4 times because I kept falling asleep!
I followed this case from beginning to end when it happened in my city, Austin.. I was so relieved when the Texas Rangers went into her house and arrested her for murder, she is a vile woman. Everyone was saying Heidi's boyfriend Shane was involved, but I never thought he was. I just saw he was very bashful when being filmed and had [stage fright]. Shane Carey, Broussard's fiancé, is now raising their baby Margot.
As an awkward, crazy woman myself, I find cases with faking a pregnancy and kiddnapping baby on the another level of craziness. It's insane, scary and disgusting.
Wow. That saying about crazy eyes is true.😳
I don't understand such sadistic people may be granted release from prison. What leniency could be given to anyone coldly planning and implementing such deeds?
To hold her hand as she's giving birth only to kill her a few weeks later? That's pure evil.
Exigent circumstances, but I hear you.
If you're going to correct his English, his use of 'insidious' instead of 'innocuous' was a much bigger error.
@@icturner23One at a time, Honey!

I LOVE your dry sense of humor! Example- "Most of the teens had a long-distance relationship with the almighty!" 😂 Excellent analysis!
"75% of the time the offender commits the crime to cement a relationship with a romantic partner." That is an alarming statistic 😱 Thank you again Dr. Grande
Dear Dr Grande, the arms length relationship with g-d de me laugh. A brilliant analysis and your humor gets drier and more brilliant - as if any of your fans thought that possible. Very well done. Bravo!
why does megan have a combover??
I cannot for the life of me understand why anyone would want a baby that is not theirs. Babies are an enormous responsibility. They put major restrictions on your life. They cost a ton of money. It involved a lot of soiled diapers too. That's just the first couple of years. The upside is that it is yours. A part of you and a kind of partial immortality. Stealing someone else' baby brings all the downsides without any of the upsides.
Oh my….
You put forward so many strictly rational arguments…. Completely discarding the fact of needing to love, be loved and be needed. You forgot the emotions.
@@ArtU4All But those flow from it being your baby. Imagine we lived in Brave New World where the state creates the babies and then randomly distributes them to couples.
@@tarstarkusz
People with capacity to love will love and care for the baby.
Those eyes. Was she able to have children? People need to stop “reading into” what people say or do when something happens. It’s never a good way to determine guilt or innocence. I hope that the baby is thriving and getting double love. It seems to feel worse when the crime is committed by someone the victim thought they could trust.
Usually these happen because people are delusional and want to keep a relationship. It doesn't have much to do with being able to have children.
Such evil in this world
It's scary to think there really weren't any more warning signs. Poor Heidi.
The physical transformation is crazy

The baby lost her mother and the mother's last thought was never being there for her child. No parole. Life.
I appreciate the lit review!
I'm so confused. I've had a couple kids myself and it really is difficult to keep track of where and when you have them. The 30 plus hours of drug free labor each time really does blend with your day to day!
Umm not a week later though

My god, the “abstinence” zinger took me OUT, y’all!! 🤣💀
Hi Dr. Grande, with friends like Megan, Heidi didn't need any enemies. Saw this case on ID's Mean Girl series.
He meant to say "exigent" circumstances, not "emergent" circumstances -- exigent circumstances are circumstances which are so time constrained they prevent the police from seeking a magistrate's warrant without danger of losing either evidence or someone's life
Well, then most of us would NOT have understood what he said, and in practical kind of way “emergent” is very acceptable

Thunderbolt and lightning, very, very, frightening me
Hello from Bournemouth England!
I don't know if you cover cases from abroad but if you do, can you look into the case of little Danka Ilic? She went missing in Serbia about 10 days ago and was supossedly seen in Vienna on Easter weekend (relatives identified her in a video made by a passer by even though many people think the girls don't look alike at all). This almost resulted in a man hunt... woman hunt... for the two women seen in the video with the girl but unfortunately this was a false lead and the ending was heart breaking.
And he sometimes does cases abroad, England is one I think maybe Spain also.
Doesn’t matter if they are mental - if someone does this - they should never be free again. The only danger to society are second chances. This is sickening.
