What a great version of this timeless classic. Still does anybody else sense that something or someone is glaringly missing from this concert? WHERE IS CLAPTON?????
Haha mate, you my not still be with us 12yrs later (2022) but the guy playing lead, played with Eric for years, He is the son of Ray Davis from the Kinks
"While My Guitar Gently Weeps" George Harrison I look at you all see the love there that's sleeping While my guitar gently weeps I look at the floor and I see it needs sweeping Still my guitar gently weeps I don't know why nobody told you how to unfold your love I don't know how someone controlled you They bought and sold you. Pino Palidino on base, AFLowe on acoustic and Phil Palmer - this is Eric Clapton's band clearly - Palmer is a great guitarist - you have to be to backstop Slowhand live for years as he did. Mike Rutherford is there too - Paul Carrack's pal from Mike + Mechanics.... Paul Carrack is a mad Beetles fan and has toured with Ringo - this must have been very moving for him........
@eldanaldo : Thank you for the info. I ran Phil Palmer in YT and while it prompted his name, I didn't see Phil. Never could find a video with Phil playing a green strat w/gold hardware. Any suggestions? Thanks again.
Forgot to ask a second question: Does anyone know the gentleman playing the red strar in the background? He plays through the video and is awesome. Thanks again
Carrack is just pure magic, The best of the best.
Harrison quietly wrote some of the best Beatle songs of all.
My favorite is "Something" it's just stunning.
Carrack, Rutherford, Fairweather, the fantastic Pino Paladino and George's best song; yes, this is as good as gets!
Not forgetting Phil Palmer on lead guitar

PC and AFL...two of the nicest musicians in the game, very humble, very funny and very good ...AFL is very under-rated as a guitar player.
I'm loving it bigtime.
Great to see Paul and Mike back together, brilliant x

Always been a favorite Harrison tune, and these boys do it more than justice.

This song always gets me " Diverted, perverted, inverted, alerted" WTF !!!!!!! Harrison proved beyond any doubt that he was no lyricist !
Absolutely superb track.

that red guitar that is used for the solo is one of gilmours 57' reissues
Meet Andy at the West Cliff theatre claçton...And at the Royal Albert Hall London..just happened to be touring with Eric Clapton!!!!
Top drawer !
Brilliant
How about a plug for Andy Fairweather-Low ... the sideman for all seasons. To think he was lead singer of Amen Corner at their peak
I knew Amen corner many years ago went out with Neil on bass!
Andy’s solo work is also sterling.
THis is a GREAT video if you haven't seen the Strat Pack. Does anyone know if they put out a 60th Strat Pack video?
Perfeitos.
HERMOSA VERSION GEORGE HARRISON
Great!
God bless the beatles
+Maxine Roberts - you took the words out of my mouth. And God bless George.

Just top draw musicians delivering quality music!! Anyone know where the gig was??
Pretty sure it was Wembley Arena
George Harrison ...taken too soon ...the very best of the four Beatles.
Indeed
R.I.P. George.
proudly Done..
Grande Phil Palmer!!!
i don't know if im wrong, but im almost shure it is the one and only ''Pino palladino'' on Bass
Cigarbox Gitarren Right
+Rock Hart - correct
it is Pino!
@eldanaldo : Thank you for the info. I ran Phil Palmer in YT and while it prompted his name, I didn't see Phil. Never could find a video with Phil playing a green strat w/gold hardware. Any suggestions? Thanks again.
He has a green strat at this concert with the same noiseless pickups as the red one he’s using here. He also used both in dire straits
❤️
Agree that Phil Palmer handles guitar very well. I like Andy on the harmony and support vocals. Remember him in Amen Corner. He has changed.
I think George would have given that the green light.😁👍
Forgot to ask a second question: Does anyone know the gentleman playing the red strar in the background? He plays through the video and is awesome. Thanks again
Fender Fan : that is Andy Fairwheather Low
Grande Phil palmer
@Alansthegreat what's wrong with Andy Fairweather Low's guitar then Al??
Not to take away from this version, but try checking out (the late) Jeff Healey's version too.. Awesome work...
That's what this reminded me of!!Thanks because I couldn't quite place where I'd heard a similar cover.😀👍👍👍
Pino Paladino on the bass? I don't know!
Si
Paul "Wix" Wickens on the keyboards?
I was thinking that too. Certainly looks like him.
Pino, it's ok. Another Paul's favourite bass player. Unforgetable in "Whenever i lay my hat"
Yes it is Jefte.😀👍
Kinda bummed out Rutherford didn't get a few licks in. Very expressive player.
