It was only because of fan backlash that she got added to the Wii port of Armageddon. Just putting this out there as it wasn't brought up in the video.
Kreate-a-fighter, Chameleon, the soundtrack, the roster, the konquest mode (wish it was longer) are the best things about this gem. I know only so much memory could be held on a disc back then but had each character had their own fatalities & cutscene endings, this would probably be the best MK of all time
I’ve been thinking of the idea of maybe some of these Armageddon victories are canon in other timelines outside of what was made through Liu Kang and Shang Tsung’s fight. Titan Onaga wasn’t in Mk11, only mentioned in fight banter in Mk1 has me believing there’s a timeline where he won against the one being and destroyed kronika, taking her place, making his timeline a singular realm. It would explain one method Titan Havik might use when he shows up in dlc. There was a leak he’s using kamidogu with Geras’s time crystals to spread chaos throughout more timelines. Me thinks that he saw one timeline where Onaga carried out his plan to merge realms and he changed it to spread chaos. So even though this game was mostly just a rushed, repetitive compilation, it planted seeds to string some new plots. I loved Armageddon myself. Spent many hours with friends on this mofo. Lots of fun. That all aside, yeah I feel that at least Armageddon lives on, at least in smaller portions, in canon. I’ll be excited to see which of these endings they use to build on later.
And the only reason it existed was because the game didn't have fatalities, so no MK game will ever have a create a character ever again unless they got rid of fatalities. "create a fatality" was god awful hot garbage and generic, but makes sense that they weren't going to come up with multiple fatalities for 80 characters, plus created fighters
@@lutherheggs451 I think it was a pretty neat idea, even though it was a bit rough in its execution. I'd like to see it return with some more polish. That way, you can give your opponent a more personalized execution.
The PS2 era of Mortal Kombat was the only era where every single release used the same combat system, and that's the main reason why Armageddon had so many characters. The fact that all characters in Deadly Alliance could easily be added to Deception allowed Armageddon to be a thing, otherwise it would have been far to expensive to have 60+ characters.
Man i love your videos, im gonna miss this series. id love to see some other ps2 games like Tony hawk underground 1 and 2 Naruto ultimate ninja Crash wrath of cortex and twinsanity etc Loving this content steele you're killing it
I absolutely love Armageddon, but I am a little upset about a few aspects. Especially the endings due to their inconsistency and lack of closure at times. For example Sub Zero is hunted down for becoming a god, but literally every other character that becomes a god are excused. Then characters like sub zeros ending doesn’t conclude their arc or fit their character, like Sub Zeros being saving his brother. This is consistent with a few characters and it can be really upsetting at times. I hope Armageddon can one day get a remake that adds all of the content that was planned from the beginning, but I heavily doubt it.
Mortal Kombat Armageddon would be a perfect game if: • It were released on 7th-gen consoles only. • Looks and plays like an M-rated MKvsDC. • Has a full endgame story with cutscenes.
A Ultimate Mortal Kombat Armageddon would have been nice in 2007 for Xbox 360 and ps3. And have fatalities from DA and deception return and all stages as well.

@@doinkz333it's best to play with another person every Mario kart knockoff gonna get repetitive quick if you play by yourself plus it's a good way to add new things to the franchise
Armageddon was lacking n a lot of the designs were reused sadly, but in all fairness, there was no money left to be made for Midway at that point. so this was truly the end of the Midway era of Mortal Kombat sadly.. its crazy cuz back then kids from school i went with in the 2000's speculated it was the last MK given the name Armageddon. they speculated everybody was likely goin die from that franchise. a lot were unclear if the same characters were returning or if there was gonna be another Mk. there was not til at least 3 or 4 yrs later.
Midway was going out of business so this was their chance to go all out. It actually had nothing to do with "wraping up the current story for a new timeline". They didn't anticipate Netherealm studio forming afterwords
It was the best MK. And no one will convince me otherwise. What other game can you create characters from Street Fighter and do fatalities with them? Fucking AWESOME. Konquest was a chore though. But I loved everything else.
I'd laughed when you'd calming introduce Hsu Hao and then for 2 seconds, immediately with anger with many F' Bombs. For that I'd really can't blame you.
I loved Motor Kombat mode. We played that all day like it was Mario Kart Lol. Anyways i was a new era graphics of Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks 2. Finish where it left off with Quan Chi popping up at the ending.
There really wasn’t any progression in Armageddon they used the same skins, arenas, moves, etc from Deception it looks exactly like Deception but with DLC but I love both games ! and motor combat was so fun ! Armageddon having the biggest roster too is crazy
The point of Armageddon wasn't really to do new things with the characters. The point was to make all previous characters and stages from the 3d era playable in the same game. It did the same thing MK trilogy did with the 2d era. It is basically MK trilogy 2, I think the game is better when you look at it from that angle.
amazing video ...plz contiue ... i thought you were give up on the series ...but you still got it ..keep up ,,,and the best review that i have liked is the subzero methology video ...
it's kind of ironic, your opinions on the game parallel the content of this video, especially the individual character analyses. Armageddon has too much content, and most of it is reused from the previous 2 games. kind of like the material in this video is reused opinions from your videos of the past 2 games. I mean is that deliberate? is it supposed to be satirical or meta commentary, I'm genuinely not sure. I guess like Midway in 2006, video creation now also needs to reuse and regurgitate content to try and make something "new", even if at the end of the day it means creating something similar to what you're criticizing.
You have a good point, I did slightly realize the irony when I was making it, but I made it the way I did anyways because I had a goal in mind for to do this sort of thing for every mortal Kombat so that I feel like I have experienced every game in the series to capacity, I mean i think for me it would feel weird if I made the video and didn’t talk about each character, but of course that’s going to make it essentially a rehash like you said. I mean yeah really you are correct in your assessment of my video, at least the rest of the mortal Kombat games in the series feel very distinct so there will be a lot more to talk about that’s original
Konquest Mode can also be called,'Adam Sandler saves the Mortal Kombat Timeline' 😆 🤣 His fighting style is also hilarious thanks to typical silly Midway jank animations and just makes him look like a panicked bystander 😂
Damn, I'm so glad I only got Deadly Alliance as a kid. This trilogy is just Alliance ports lmfao of course the others are honorable mentions due to bringing new characters, character creator modes and new finishers.
I wasn't a fan of the fatalities but the rest I had fun with even the motor Kombat was fun. I only used sub zero scorpion and frost the rest of roster is forgotten from my end.
sorry to disappoint u, but thats pretty much the whole purpose of chameleon/Khameleon's movesets is the mimic the other ninja palette's movesets watever color they shift to they do that character's moves.
Imagine if Midway didn't have only a little over a year to develop these games. Those damn Midway execs saw the money and made them pump these games out back to back, with Armageddon suffering the most because it was the most ambitious. I know the PS2 disks can only handle about 5-6 GB of data, but if given another 6 months of development time, I bet this game would have been way better. The Konquest is still amazing, but Motor Kombat was shallow, thr krypt was rushed, and there were no actual fatalities. The only good fatalities in this game were the stage ones. Still, the 3D era of Mortal Kombat put the game back on the map, and I still play them to this day through emulation. I bet if this game released in todays time, the Konquest and Motor Kombat would be paid DLC. I miss the days of getting a complete game for $60. It's safe to say they sure don't make games like this anymore.
I asked ed boon 10 years ago or more please make a whole game based on konquest mode..... it's begging to be made... konquest was a taste of what it could be... now i don't even play games but i might for that
I am a massive fan of this franchise despite being a casual player overall. I just love the characters and the lore and the cheesy and simple but yet effective concept behind a bunch of violent Kung Fu superheroes going at it. I played the absolute hell out of deadly alliance and deception and I was stoked for this one considering the roster was going to be the first thing that reminded me of the roster in MK trilogy. Man did this game ultimately disappoint me. I remember essentially being confused at myself that I felt so burnt out and bored with this game so quickly compared to the other two that preceded it. Or even just any of the classics. Everybody has said it but ultimately this game took a quantity over quality approach and fighters didn't feel distinct enough and the create a fatality system was super boring. However I did like the fact that you could create a custom character at least. That's something I would love to see them try to bring back but I'm sure it would be a nightmare with balancing considering how much more competitive these games have gotten But even then, so much gear and customization for created characters was locked and I didn't care enough to play the game and unlock everything. So as such I was kind of stuck making some generic characters that I wasn't that enthusiastic about because I just wasn't enthusiastic about playing it enough to make them cooler. People like to hate on MK versus DC, but I would play that game all day long before going back to Armageddon
I used to like this game.... i was 20 when this game came out......... yet playing it today would jsut feel depressing because they abandoned this style and it doesn't seem relevant anymore as they changed the whole storyline too......... they never brought back konquest mode... it's just sad
5/10?! You and I think on totally different wavelengths because, ya, nowhere near masterpiece but the roaster is what made the game for me. Even if so many are just ported from previous entries or just have different flavoured movesets, to be able to play as every MK character is worth it. And OMCheese, racing was hilarious, shallow but so camp. 8/10 (at least without having played it in YEARS)
Armageddon Has TOO MUCH CONTENT!!! This is one of the best games I've played! Compare that to the garbage of broken AAA games that come out and need patches, games with loot boxes, and DLC, back then you bought a game, and you got tons of unlockables thrown in. It was only because of fan backlash that she got added to the Wii port of Armageddon. Just putting this out there as it wasn't brought up in the video.
True I should’ve mentioned it
Kreate-a-fighter, Chameleon, the soundtrack, the roster, the konquest mode (wish it was longer) are the best things about this gem. I know only so much memory could be held on a disc back then but had each character had their own fatalities & cutscene endings, this would probably be the best MK of all time
I forgot about motor kombat also
Having too much content was the reason why I played it damn near nonstop
I’m glad you enjoyed it lol
51:36 oh you down BAD for Baraka lol
Look at those teeth man
Reptile's design is just a copy and paste of his Shaolin Monks design.
Looking back at Sektor's ending, seems to me this was the idea that would later become Triborg
Cried of laugher and don't blamed you fo that hated character - 31:39
Why does he hate Hsu Hao?
@@philistinedunker9962 gotta go back and watch the deception video if you haven't yet lmao
During the endings chapter of this video, take a shot everytime Argus says epic
Taven has two endings one for konquest and one for arcade
Oh my bad I didn’t know
Damn, I wish you would've said more about the characters. More time is spent watching their endings.
Yeah I wish I did too, I just truly didn’t have enough to say about the characters because they felt so similar to previous games
Tekunin - Technological Ninja.
You didn't talk about the Kreate-a-Fighter mode? It's one of the most unique and best things about this entry.
33:25 yeah I did
@@lutherheggs451 I think it was a pretty neat idea, even though it was a bit rough in its execution.
Man i love your videos, im gonna miss this series. id love to see some other ps2 games like
Tony hawk underground 1 and 2
Naruto ultimate ninja
Crash wrath of cortex and twinsanity
etc
Loving this content steele you're killing it
I definitely plan on a tony hawk series and a crash series so I will get to them eventually
Most Controversial Ending Of Konquest Mode In Mortal Kombat Armageddon...
Mortal Kombat Armageddon would be a perfect game if:
• It were released on 7th-gen consoles only.
I love how liu kangs armageddon ending comes full circle in mk1
It was rushed. Instead of endings they just showed the same 3 katas

New dad here up at odd hours, enjoyed this video and the rest of the mk series. Fun walk down memory lane
I’m glad you enjoyed
52:20 - I'm still saddened to this day about the treatment of my lovely horse.
First this then a kameo only in MK1?!
The nerve. I hate his Armageddon design so much, i worte a little poem -
"Motaro's legs once four,
Now just two, he gallops no more."
Great video, Awesome to finally beign done with armageddon.
Yes, it was a long time coming
Jax approaches Stryker after he wins
"Hey man what's this bout you not letting the law hold you back" - Jax
"Oh perfect timing!" (shoots Jax in the head) - Stryker
Great video dude, funny and insightful as always!
this new mic of yours sounds much nicer, great video!
Thank you
7:18 Thank you! I feel like I was going insane hearing everybody worship Motor Kombat 💀
For real it’s not that good
It's cause alot if us were kids playing this u never remembered something nostalgic then came back n said damn this really wasn't all that? 😂
@@doinkz333it's best to play with another person every Mario kart knockoff gonna get repetitive quick if you play by yourself plus it's a good way to add new things to the franchise
Armageddon was lacking n a lot of the designs were reused sadly, but in all fairness, there was no money left to be made for Midway at that point. so this was truly the end of the Midway era of Mortal Kombat sadly.. its crazy cuz back then kids from school i went with in the 2000's speculated it was the last MK given the name Armageddon. they speculated everybody was likely goin die from that franchise. a lot were unclear if the same characters were returning or if there was gonna be another Mk. there was not til at least 3 or 4 yrs later.
pretty epic video, always love watching these on my off time
Thank you I’m glad you enjoy them
Can't believe that Hsu Hao slander. That's everyone's favorite character
Love your content keep up the great work
Thank you
Awesome video!! Well worth the wait!!! 👍👍
Thank you
@@steele1 The Thanks goes to you, amigo!!
Midway was going out of business so this was their chance to go all out. It actually had nothing to do with "wraping up the current story for a new timeline". They didn't anticipate Netherealm studio forming afterwords
14:48
Can we call him Noob zero?
that actually is pretty much wat he became at the end
A Noob-Zero character would have been awesome to see
Armageddon is my favorite 3d era MK. I know characters feel a little gutted, but being able to do infinites with most characters is fun to figure out
That’s fair
Really enjoyed watching you stream this game
Glad you enjoyed
Frost plays like Sub-Zero, but differently.
Motaro's back legs were removed n he looks too much like a Hell Knight from Doom.
I do a yearly "beat arcade with every character" run, it's my favourite MK game
It was the best MK. And no one will convince me otherwise. What other game can you create characters from Street Fighter and do fatalities with them? Fucking AWESOME. Konquest was a chore though. But I loved everything else.
I also kind of knew this game would happen because Mortal Kombat Trilogy was a thing. Sometimes be careful what ya wish for.
I'd laughed when you'd calming introduce Hsu Hao and then for 2 seconds, immediately with anger with many F' Bombs. For that I'd really can't blame you.
The hate for Hsu Hao was manufactured by Midway and I will stand by that
Great video. Sub Zero does have a slide in Armageddon though. It's (on the thumb pad) back-forward and B button, on Xbox 360 controller.
at 16:35 I just realized that triborg was a concept way before MKX made it real
Great video, hope you will continue this series and will make a video about mk dc vs universe
Yes I will
amazing video ...plz contiue ... i thought you were give up on the series ...but you still got it ..keep up ,,,and the best review that i have liked is the subzero methology video ...
I will continue, ive just been very busy in my personal life so this one took a long time
Just cause sub zero got ice powers don't make his game called sub0 methology 😂💀
Mavado catching all the strays lol
Great video man!
Thank you
your so underrated
w vid
I have good memories of playing this game with my siblings
>Striker steals Jax's gun move
Lolwut?
Have you not played any other MK with Striker in it?
That specific move wasn’t used by Stryker until this game, and it is the exact same as the move jax had in deadly alliance
it's kind of ironic, your opinions on the game parallel the content of this video, especially the individual character analyses.
This trilogy is just Alliance ports lmfao of course the others are honorable mentions due to bringing new characters, character creator modes and new finishers.
the wait is over 🙏
I wasn't a fan of the fatalities but the rest I had fun with even the motor Kombat was fun. I only used sub zero scorpion and frost the rest of roster is forgotten from my end.
lets goooo i can finally be awake again
If i had to choose a ps2 Mortal Kombat game it would be Armageddon 🤷♀️
God Imagine Bo' Rai Cho becoming a god. Let alone an elder god.
He be one kick ass. But a handful as hell! Drunk all the damn time.
sorry to disappoint u, but thats pretty much the whole purpose of chameleon/Khameleon's movesets is the mimic the other ninja palette's movesets watever color they shift to they do that character's moves.
We definitely need remastered on this one
That's something I would love to see them try to bring back but I'm sure it would be a nightmare with balancing considering how much more competitive these games have gotten
But even then, so much gear and customization for created characters was locked and I didn't care enough to play the game and unlock everything. So as such I was kind of stuck making some generic characters that I wasn't that enthusiastic about because I just wasn't enthusiastic about playing it enough to make them cooler.
People like to hate on MK versus DC, but I would play that game all day long before going back to Armageddon
When is that crash bandicoot 1996 ratchet and clank 2002 and metal gear solid 1998 review coming?
Eventually
Ok
You mock tsu hao now but you'll beg for him once you learn about devorah
I like devorah
I’ve been waiting on this Yess siiirrr 😂😂😂😂😂
Now games are not fun and have all sorts of woke agendas in them, we need to go back to the PS2 era when gamers enjoyed playing games!
Complaining about fighting in a fighting game is wild.
Honestly the previous two are better but the nostalgia of playing mka with my brother has me biased
Fair
So Stryker becomes Batman, ok🤷🏾♂️🤣
more or less given his godlike traits
