- It's finally time, the next MK game on our list. Mortal Kombat Armageddon. The MK Trilogy of the 3D Era and a game that I think gets a bad rap, so we're gonna play though it and see for ourselves how the game still holds up!

"Mortal Kombat Armageddon Was a Mistake" is FINALLY here! The game is divisive in the fanbase for its shoddy fatalities, broken kreate a kharacter mode, but I remembered having a good time with Konquest so we're here to check it out and see if it holds up! Also, ____ Was a Mistake is just becoming my playthrough series and I'm aiming to make it a WEEKLY series so can you guys guess what's next? Hint. Taking a break from MK story modes next week 👀

People talk about Stryker punching the soul out of Mileena, but ive always loved that Johnny Cage straight up knocks Sonya off of the Temple as she screams in one of his coldest moments.

I still love that Taven just straight up walks next to Goro and scares the fuck out of him casually.
Also as a chilluns I couldn't get past that fucking statue because I didn't have the internet to look up how to beat it, so I never got past that part of the story.
I found it out by accident but it took me about 5 hours, my focus as a kid was unmatched so I tried literally everything.
If by "mistake" you mean "the best of the franchise" then yes, it is.

In Taven’s arcade tower ending, instead of stripping them of their special powers, it made them stronger.
What i hate in this game is the lack of fatalities, they could at least re-use the fatalitys from Deception and Deadly Alliance
Agreed but you can only put so much on a disc during this time since they focused so much so on the characters and showing the legacy of MK. Very impressive of what we got in the end though

Stryker is mainly known for two things:
1.Punching Mileena during Armageddon.
2.Police Brutality, which is coming up! …literally in the next game.
That's why he's the best character

No, it wasn't a mistake. Thanks to Mortal Kombat Armaggeddon I played the amazing kart race, listening to hours of the krypt's music while unlocking things, creating my character and trying my best to make Ultimate Fatality and failing miserably.
It will always be canon that no matter the timeline Stryker will beat up Mileena
This is my favorite Mortal Kombat game ever! I love this game so much I decided to start speedrunning it and I ended up getting the World Record after lots of practice!
Armageddon Konquest was neat for being a completely different game but it always bugged me from a lore perspective as Deception's Konquest hinted at The One Being being the next villain but then every plotline introduced in Deception was rendered irrelevant to a complete asspull of a doomsday prophecy for a Gary Sue who spends the majority of the story mode being led around with no agency...
I have NEVER heard the phrase Gary Sue before and I'm stealing that, that's great
But I agree. It a fun ..... MK rollercoaster we'll call it, but it throws away a lot of setup from deception

I didn't "love" Armageddon's story mode (Taven is just budget Kratos), but it was fun as a side-mode. While clearly not as developed as Shaolin Monks from the year prior (not even a jump button), it was still engaging enough.
This konquest mode really shows that all you have to do is let the player run around the realms and interact/fight characters from the MK universe and we'll be satisfied. Not sure what netherrealm can't seem to comprehend about this in the newer games' additional modes
Or play chess. Or drive go karts

Armageddon wasn't exactly great, but it's still in my top 5. Kreate-A-Fighter and having at that point every character in history (except Tremor) was just pure fun

I weirdly enjoyed this game and used each character to see how far I would get into the towers. I even owned the Wii version but hadn’t bought a Wii until like 2012

So a game that had a mess of a development and a small budget the conquest honestly came out alright.
I spent so much time on Kreate a Fighter, I loved making superheroes, gods and characters from other fighting games. I also wish we could get a full game for Motor Kombat, that shit was a blast!

What's interesting looking back, There is this whole other story going on outside of Taven's perspective that he is unaware is going on the whole time, you play literally as the background character who doesn't know what's going on. You can put some pieces together some of what's actually going on for the other heroic characters, but Taven is usually witnessing part of their story arc for a couple seconds or getting into a fight with them. Li Mei actually had quite a journey over the three games, I did not remember her actually beating Shinnok there! And Taven just jumps in to help Shinnok because he's unaware that Shinnok is evil. I'm pretty sure Raiden actually did kill Shujinko before he could take out the bad guys, it would be so cool to see him actually pop off against the Deadly Alliance 2.0. Too bad. But yes, Taven is literally the guy in the background who ultimately doesn't achieve anything because the gets killed by Blaze and Shao Kahn is the won who took the prize.

I actually like Shuzinko and taven but I think Daegon looks the coolest
I hope they bring back Wu Lae and give the orange ninja the Tremor treatment. Him and Chameleon are the only canon ninjas not in the newer games.

I was 7 years old playing this game his a kid I can understand about the designs and fatalities but it still had a pretty damn story and I still play it when I was a teenager when I was in junior high and high school it is still good but everyone his their own opinion the mortal kombat story is pretty big
