Thank you for your lovely video. I love oats. I had to live at hotels sometimes for months when I was traveling, working as a translator in the UK. Getting my hands on healthy food was daily trouble. It was an industrial area, only one expensive and small shop nearby, no car available and not even time to do much shopping plus shift duty. But luck was with me: As it was the UK, there were kettles in every room, alongside a little set for making tea - teabags, sugar and some condensed milk. So I got me a big pack of a nice breakfast oats mixture with rolled oats, nuts and dried fruits. Used the kettle and let it soak in plain hot water (a good amount of it) for about 10 minutes while I was using the bathroom. Got back, gave it a stir, poured some of the condensed milk over it (better than nothing) and it was good, tasty and as healthy as breakfast in these circumstances could possibly be. I guess it saved my b*tt, literally 😳 I am very glad that I don't have to do that job anymore, and can find time to prepare some of your recipes. Also I like a lot how you explain the use of the spices, also the effects on health. A lot has become popular around here (Germany) and not many people know how to use them properly, myself included. I have done my homework and read what I could find, but nothing is as good as a personal explanation from someone who is part of the culture where they originated from and has a well grounded mindset. I hope your channel grows, it is helpful and much appreciated. Thanks a lot 🏵🙂

Great video! How long would the savoury oats last in the fridge? Thanks
It will last a day, You will have to add some water when reheating it. Beyond a day you will have to test it out , but I think it will begin to turn and ferment.
Thank you for this healthy introduction I am definitely going to try this and change my eating habits🥰😋😋🖕🏻
I m new on your channel but this video has fully covered all info perfectly. Which brand oats have you been using. Can we get groats and steel cut on Amazon?
Many thanks
Thank you. There are a lot of them available on Amazon, you won't go wrong there. You will also find a greater choice and organic varieties there.
Hi Srikanth...i am new to your channel...very informative, interesting your videos are...wanna know which type of brand we should go for olive oil ....suggest .... for curry's & Fry's
Thank you for your kind words🙂. It depends on where you are located. In India, I prefer the oil from the brand Phalada. However, for curries and fries, there are a lot of indigenously produced cold-pressed or wood-pressed oils like sesame oil, peanut oil, and A2 ghee and coconut oil, that are available.
Thank you srikanth
Can we pressure cook groats and steel cut oats?
Yes, Absolutely, It can be made in a pressure cooker, Instapot, or even in a rice cooker. The amount of water you add will be half a cup less. 1 cup Groats: 2.5 cups water, and for 1 cup Steel cut oats you will need 2 cups of water. 🙏
In another video you said that a type of pepper should be used to active the healthy properties of turmeric. Does it follow that all recipes that use turmeric should also include a type of pepper? (It was not included with the first, groats recipe). Thank you.
Turmeric has an active compound called curcumin besides other curcuminoids. Piperine in black pepper increases the absorption of curcumin by several folds. Piperine is found in all types of pepper - the round black pepper or the long pepper ( Piper longum), For people who do not like black pepper or cannot take it, they can use fat, the best options being Ghee or Coconut oil. Heating the food containing turmeric also increases the bioavailability of curcumin. Pepper is considered ( by research ) to be the most potent of all methods.
Thank you!
