I'm waiting for my milk to cool so I can drink it before bed. Violent crime is rising fast here in Gambia and I feel anxious every time I leave the house. I'm hoping this will help. Thank you so much for the recipe. ❤ Edie: It works! I'm amazed at the results, I feel like a different person, peaceful and relaxed. 😌
I have been drinking turmeric milk with black pepper for over two tears now daily before sleeping, i have not fallen sick for 2 years unlike before when i would fall sick frequently......
This tastes AMAZING with soy milk or almond milk, I don’t like dairy milk, never have, even as a kid when my mom made warm milk, it would make me want to vomit. So when non-dairy milks started being a thing, I was SO excited! Great tip to do the spices in the water first and then adding it to the warm non-dairy milk. Will try it that way for sure!
In my country PR we call that skin nata. The reason why most children don't like the nata is because a lot of children don't like the feeling of a slimy feeling in their mouth. I used and still hate nata because for the most part it would actually made me vomit. But I do drink golden milk every night. After years of suffering from insomnia, I started to make the milk and to my surprise I've been noticing that by 11 PM or midnight I'm knocked out and sleep through the night and wake up at 7 AM. So I want to thank you because you give more details. Thanks
Black pepper is actually an anticoagulant, a quick fix for cuts I've used in the kitchen to heal a cut fast is to add finely fresh grated black pepper to my cut W/ neosporin. Thanks for posting! I'll have to try this out and see if it helps any.
I made my golden milk using your recipe, adding the turmeric ground ginger, a little bit of ground nutmeg, a little bit of cinnamon and after I put it in my mug I added star of anise and 1/8 tsp organic maple syrup and it was brilliant…! ❤❤❤❤ thank you 😊 it’s now my daily routine ❤❤❤❤
came across your channel and you answered my uncertainty using turmeric sometimes i cant sleep fast so i definitely make turmeric mik and i love ground pepper so i hope it will make me sleep better soon thank you 🙏🙏🙏🙏
I am drinking the golden milk right now, using slightly sweetened organic soy milk. I followed you recipe. it is very good. I grew up on large amount of dairy and developed RA 12 years ago. After I stopped dairy 10 years ago, it disappeared within 3 weeks and has not returned. I find unsweetened plain soy milk is the best substitute to dairy milk tastewise and in various recipes. It has the same amount of calcium content as cow's milk.
@@lazerbubbles3630 It is the cow's milk protein, Casein. I did develop lactose intolerance after 6 months without dairy as well, as I imagine nature intends as we are weaned off mother's milk, but that was secondary to the Casein intolerance and just caused an upset stomach.
WOW! I just discovered your channel today and thanks for another incredible video. (Love your how to make curry video) I'm surprised you're not a teacher, between your soothing voice, your calm demeanor/disposition, and how well you explain and relate things...you make it easy to understand everything. I am West Indian/Caribbean, African & Spanish, so there are so many spices used in our daily dishes and keeping up with them can be challenging for someone raised in America. I live in Brooklyn, New York, so I'm planning my shopping list and going to visit Queens, New York where most of the Indian and Asian grocery stores are to get my ingredients. Wishing you much success as your channel grows. CHEERS!
You've reminded me of something i tend to forget from time to time! Golden milk as it is called in the US is so soothing, and really helps clear your mind & relax your body! I have made a paste of coconut oil, tumeric and black pepper & store in the fridge. When I use it, I warm up milk and stir some in. Also saffron is available to grow at home. It's called Autumn Crocus and blooms in fall, rather than spring. It's available in many gardening catalogues.
Ooops! I forgot to mention I also make this drink sometimes before bed! In fact, I think I will have one now, its bedtime! Saffron is another spice I use as a tea though very sparingly and with rice when I make biryani or other curry/spicy dishes with rice. Thank you once again for your recipe and the information about the benefits of nutmeg. Not a spice I usually have on hand but I do like the taste and could alternate the flavours of the bedtime drink. It can could be an added to custards and rice pudding of which I am very fond of so, nutmeg will now be added to my spice rack. Thank you again Shrikant. Peace be with you. 🙏❤ Bobbie, from Australia. 🇦🇺 to custards and rice puddings so, it will now be another spice addition to my culinary creations.
This is becoming popular in Mexico, it's called golden milk. I'm drinking some now and reading mindfulness lessons from the book "30 Days to Reduce Anxiety" by Harper Daniels. I sleep much better :)

Love your channel, going to try this milk. Can't take the nutmeg so hope that doesn't diminish the taste too much but otherwise it looks a treat. Thanks again.
A very educational video! We learned how to make a healthy recipe, but we also leaned some important nutritional and culinary information. Thank you very much!
Thank you so much for your great video!! I love golden milk ❣️🫶 So much information! Also I use the oat milk for I am dairy intolerant . That’s hard for me because I was raised on goats milk after I was weaned. So having a Alergy now is awful ! I love cheese 🧀 and I can’t have it now 😢
Hello from the Caribbean..i recently came across your channel and wanted to say i truly appreciate your recipes and your pace of speaking. I have turmeric in my freezer..can i use this by grating a frozen piece? Thanks for your awesome videos?🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹❤️
Thank you 🙏. You can frozen turmeric too , If grating the frozen turmeric is tough then you can also take a small piece of it , crush it in a prtar and pestle and boil it along with the milk.
Thank you for the information. Do you agree that turmeric can cause kidney stones? I already have oxalats tendency, so should I go on drinking this milk? I am drinking turmeric, ginger and black pepper with almond milk at night exactly in the amount you are advising.
I am 72 and don't get much sleep; I tried warm milk with turmeric and black pepper. No luck. May be I can experiment with nutmeg powder. If it works, my blessings to you all the way. I tried few of your recepies and my family enjoyed them.
This tastes totally delicious. I like it with honey is that okay? And I cannot tolerate the entire 1/4 tsp. Pepperine...can I reduce and still get the benefits? Thanks.
You don't have to add pepper at all . I have friends that can't stand even the smell of it so I can understand you. Use full fat milk if you can. If you are using honey add it to your warm cup of turmeric milk , it wll dissolve easily. Do not boil or cook honey in the pot with other ingredients. They why of it is long winded answer.🙂
You can use any sweetener of your choice including honey. But add honey to the glass of warm milk , do not cook honey with the milk - that's a whole another debate on why.

Yes grated fresh turmeric can be added to the milk , 1/2 a teaspoon of it should be enough for a glass of milk (200 - 250 ml )
