Need some help with creating small vinyl decals? In this video, I show you how I weed my decals and end with some very important tips and information that you won't want to miss!

Tip for you. Weed right to left when doing words because most open letters like e and c open on the right side. This way the inside of the letter comes out easier.

Thank you for video. I LOVE WEEDING.love your tip for the letter " i ". The dot was being a pain for me, now I see how you got it down. TY. And using you scrapper to hold the group down at one time is helpful too. Do you ever burnish your cut down before weeding? I have and it helps with things lifting... except the i. Lol not always.

My vinyl will flake off and roll in on itself while it’s cutting small details 😢any idea how to prevent this?
What fonts are these?
I'm new to making cricut vinyl labels and I'm wondering where you bought your weeding tool from? I'm also wondering how your Letters are already outlined in rectangles in this particular video? Did you score them with the cricket 1st? I'm working on vinyl labels for my candle vessels and a Font I'm using is very delicate and having a few problems with the font sticking to the backing. Seems like the blade is doing a good job at cutting on a vinyl but it's me weeding at that seems to be pulling all the fonts off. Thank you for this video. Its very helpful!!
Thank you!! It was actually from a tool kit I got years ago from Costco! I haven't looked around to see if there's anything similar. I don't use a cricut. I use larger cutters and the software that comes with them which add the weeding lines around the graphic. Even if the blade is cutting the vinyl ok but you're having issues with weeding, it is still a blade and/or pressure issue. Make the sure the blade is at the right depth and that its a sharp blade. Mess around with your settings and do lots of small test cuts to get it just right - it's worth that time tweaking it perfectly because it makes the weeding process SO much easier and faster!
how did you get a box around each decal? I noticed how you could start in the corner of each one and it would not mess with the rest of the decals. I am kinda new to this.
My cutting software has an option to put a weed box around the design. Any cutting software should have that option. You could also do this in your design program by putting a stroke line around the design.
Hi how can I make my own phrases on vinyl before weeding? Do ppl use stencils over the vinyl to cut? Thank you!
You can use a vector program, the cutting software, or purchase designs and cut them with a vinyl cutter.
Im trying to print reallllly small like 8pt font using font athelas to press on a "neck label" so its about 1.5 inche tall and 3 inches width, do you suggest this? I think its definitely way smaller then the font youre using. Help?
Yeah it’s doable! As long as your cut settings and blade are good, you shouldn’t have a problem!
What brand of permanent Vinyl do you use?
I’m curious as well, when I pull mine they won’t stick

Hi, I use the Neenah Jet Opaque 2 HTV paper and with the settings I have it doesnt weed well and takes lot of work, I use blade level 3, force 8 and speed 3 how can I make this process easier?
Should I put the blade level up or the force?
is it not cutting through the htv very well? if that's the case, you'll need to mess with the blade level and/or force.

Hi! I found this video so helpful. I am wondering how you in design space you add the boarder to cut out the square that helps you with your weeding??
My cutting program adds that for me as a weeding line. You could also make it on a design program yourself as a stroke line

Why don´t you do reverse weeding? It´s so much easier and the i dots will stay.
For individual personal projects, reverse weeding could be better and faster. However I make decals for sale for others to us. so to not have the backing paper and needing to reapply it doesn’t make much sense. As long as you have correct cutter settings, small decals can be weed just as quick as reverse weeding in my opinion :)

You are actually weeding wrong. Always weed in to the character. i.e weed text from right to left and numbers from left to right…try it. Put weed boarders around text and numbers separately. Been weeding since 1996 ❤
