I seen them live at this video you saw. The coolest part was a lot of other musicians were looking at SOAD from backstage. It was their first festival since 10 years and they only starting touring/playing again this year. They started in the Netherlands as we were the first country to offically recognize the Armenian Genocide, which happend 100 years ago in 2017, hence they played in the Netherlands first. It was really cool show! Really do check em out live!

Any of the songs they played live in Armenia in 2015 would be amazing to watch you react to! That show was very important, not only to them, but to the spirit of the Armenian people, as it marked the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide of 1915, of which all the band members are descendants of survivors. In that one concert, they played 37 songs! It deserves a complete watch through, but it is about 2.5 hours long! I'd also like to suggest their two newest songs, Protect the Land, and Genocidal Humanoidz, but they haven't played either of those songs live yet. Those two songs were their first new music in 15 years!, and dedicated to and to make aware of the struggle currently taking place in Armenia.

Prison song, bounce, byob, toxicity, hypnotized, cigaro, and so many many more system is a band that made a lot of music in a small amount of time then broke apart
In my mind I have made this a classification of poetic metal. When you think of everything collectively it’s hard to compare them to anything else. When you close your eyes or even open them and look at the live the connection of the artists and the people is mesmerizing.
2 words for you my friend. Suite Pee. One of the most effective metal songs in the 21st century. SOAD also have at least a dozen more songs that hit so hard and cause rock and roll euphoria.
I personally would like to see you react to some live greenday performances. They are utterly amazing rock song performers. And honestly you could pluck out 10 random songs from greenday and the odds are(in my estimation at least) that 8 of them are gonna be worthy of listening to a 2nd or 3rd time. I hope you consider my suggestion and most importantly have a great day!!
PLEASE react to their song “Soil” or “Deer Dance”. They are my favorite songs and they have MASSIVE range throughout the entirety of them. My boyfriend sent me these videos and I am obsessed! SOAD is my favorite band of all time. I was so hyped to watch you react and adore their music just as much as I do!
Live versions can be good, if the guy mixing the recording knows what they're doing. This one was definitely not the best mixing, the vocals are completely drowned out.
I prefer studio versions because the studio version is going to be the most accurate version of how the artist wants a song to sound when they give it to you to hear. They can tweek and adjust and redo and layer their work until it is the living breathing embodiment of the vision or day dream of the thought or emotion they want to portay to you. Live music is just them doing their best to recreate that sound to you in person with crowds cheering and clapping and singing along. I love a concert and some bands can do a good job of remaking things mostly its all the crowd noise that kills live recordings for me not the artist failing to do a good job
Lots of live recordings sound immaculate. The problem is, despite being an all time great rock band. SOAD only had a narrow window where Serj was actually a good live performer. I love him, but live, he's super pitchy and as he got older, his voice got more and more tame.
I feel like the politically charged messages in System's songs are right in your wheelhouse. It's a bummer that we're not able to see your reaction when you can actually process more of what they're saying in these songs. Love the channel either way. Keep working hard, my dude.
React to live performances by them from 1998-2003. Obviously not all their songs are performed during this time, but the ones that are won’t disappoint. Those are the prime years of Soad.
A part of why metal is more heavily protected is because it's a lower volume product than pop or other big genres. The labels behind metal acts sell fewer units, thus each infringement is a larger percentage of their profit. Yes, it's mostly execs and such getting paid, but it also filters down to the bands as well. As much as the musicians want to just push their music out as much as possible, they need to protect their income as well. Not saying I'm a huge fan of the system, but it is what it is. Having been in several bands over the years, especially metal bands, the cost of entry is higher, and the yield is far less. About 80% of the shows I've played at bars and smaller venues we literally had to pay the venue to be able to play, and our only return was if we sold merch and CD's at the show. We had shows where we would PACK a venue, and they still wouldn't give us a cut. But living in smaller towns, you're limited as to where you can play.
If you want to know what makes them stand out, is their musical/cultural background which is Armenian music, hymns and chanting. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armenian_chant The eastern church music (byzantine, gregorian chanting and even ancient greek music) also folk music from middle east,Africa(folk percussion ) and Asia have a different system in writing music.they go beyond the western notes, they use microtonality, which has as a result the multiplication of the notes we usually hear in classic western music, which in turn makes music more interesting and passionate :)
If you want to see an amazing singing performance from Serj (lead singer of System) then I recommend watching this: Prophets Of Rage - Like a Stone (ft. Serj Tankian). It's a live performance from Rock Am Ring where they sang a song by Audioslave whose singer has passed away sadly. The energy in that song is something else I'm telling you.
There is a live video that would be perfect. The lead singer Serj joins Audioslave for a tribute to Chris Cornell by covering Like a Stone. Really showcases his voice, because yes he can sing his ass off.
I like live shows too, but you need to listen to the studio version of this. Cuz they sped it up here in a way that I don't think fits the vibe of the song as intended, but performed this way keeps up the vibe of a concert.

In my mind I have made this a classification of poetic metal. When you think of everything collectively it’s hard to compare them to anything else. When you close your eyes or even open them and look at the live the connection of the artists and the people is mesmerizing.
You should stick to their Big Day Out (BDO) live performance from 2002 I believe. Those were something really special
Dope! Great reactions, man
2 words for you my friend.
I hope you consider my suggestion and most importantly have a great day!!
more and thank you for taking the request!
Absolutely love this song
PLEASE react to their song “Soil” or “Deer Dance”. They are my favorite songs and they have MASSIVE range throughout the entirety of them. My boyfriend sent me these videos and I am obsessed! SOAD is my favorite band of all time. I was so hyped to watch you react and adore their music just as much as I do!
90s bro can't forget. loved my youth thank the creator
I love being at a concert, but hate watching recorded live events, this sounds terrible compared to the studio version.
Live versions can be good, if the guy mixing the recording knows what they're doing. This one was definitely not the best mixing, the vocals are completely drowned out.
Thank you
Live versions suck bad, unless you are NOFX or The Offspring and people actually put in hard work into making stuff sound proper good.
Pls check System of a Down from 2002 (BDO Live)
For example System of a Down - Toxicity (live from bdo 2002)
Good to see you finally getting to SOAD. Figured you would enjoy them
bro listen the proshots of 1998~2005 and maybe 2011~2014
STACKZZZZZZZZ É FANBOY SOADER
This song is actually quoting a talk by Shunrū Suzuki founder of the San Francisco Zen center.
B.Y.O.B. is another awesome song by them.
This song is my favorite of all time.
I subbed finally, you're a genuine dude:::Peace and Love🙏🧡
Serj Tankian, the lead singer, has a song with Tech N9ne called "Straight out the Gate". It's fire.
The best part about Aerials is the lyrics. Also epic instrumental but I love the lyrics
they'll be in LA in october ;) coming from texas, see you there!
He always starts with live....always that's his thing...he goes after and listens to studio....
I'm freezing, but not because of the cold of winter, but because of that bass-riff.
Lol his voice sounds way too funny here for me to enjoy the song. Fortunately I have listened to the studio version many times and love it.
I'm still so shocked that you have never stumbled into them Malaga, they have so much fire shit
If you want to know what makes them stand out, is their musical/cultural background which is Armenian music, hymns and chanting.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armenian_chant
The eastern church music (byzantine, gregorian chanting and even ancient greek music) also folk music from middle east,Africa(folk percussion ) and Asia have a different system in writing music.they go beyond the western notes, they use microtonality, which has as a result the multiplication of the notes we usually hear in classic western music, which in turn makes music more interesting and passionate :)
Imagine being the sound-engineer of SOAD, with the modulation and changes going through pretty much all their songs.
SOAD is so damn good. Been listening to them since middle school :D
Hypnotize is a great song by SOAD
