      I most certainly didn't. When I was a teenager I wanted Nancy as my teacher. She could do it all, and her own singing is on a level with Ann's. That's why their vocal harmonies are so beautiful.

      You're wrong about Heart being huge in the early 80s. They had Bebe le Strange (1980), which didn't go platinum, only gold. Their albums Private Audition (1982) and Passionworks (1983) didn't even go gold. Their poor sales resulted in them being dropped from their record label.

    Just think about the physical dynamics of singing, and how effortless Ann makes it seem. When she sings the line, "...my love the pleasure's mine...", and Takes.a.Bow....👀😮 The folded torso compresses the diaphragm...yet she STILL belts it smoothly and powerfully. Amazing. #Meow

      In parts, but other parts she has to take a breath. This seems like an incredibly hard song to sing though, with so many vocal twists and turns. She seems most comfortable when she can belt the pre-chorus and chorus. The verses are tougher.

    My favorite live performance by Heart. Huge stage, outside, perfect atmosphere, fresh breeze in their faces, blowing their hair backwards, dark stage with only Nancy illuminated for her signature Silver Wheels, looking so cool, so hot, cavalierly casting her pick aside, crouching down like something big is going to happen, then kicking out and rushing forward, going totally wild as she is still alone and starts the opening strums of Crazy on you, and then the whole band joins in, seeming to come out of nowhere as the stage is illuminated. And that's just how it starts! I'm not going to deny, Nancy's sexy stage presence and theatrics are my favorite part. But, it's all good, so good!

I remember when this Dreamboat Annie album came out and I went and bought it and it was one of the few albums that my younger sister and I both really like equally. One of the others being Hair of the Dog by Nazareth.
    But at any rate, I learned the acoustic guitar solo at the beginning which leads right into Crazy On You, and it was so fun to play once I figured it out. But I had never seen this particular clip before and she lengthens it by at least a minute or two with a lot of cool extra stuff in the middle. And then I love how she leads into the main song, she's just so fierce, laugh.

    Yes indeed the sisters Wilson, Ann and Nancy did write Crazy on You! The song as I remember is about being so into someone that you forget the outside world while you're in the bedroom and otherwise engaged....😘

    Heart did write this song and many others in the 70s and early 80s but the record company in the mid 80s wanted outside writers to write guaranteed hits for radio and MTV.

    😊❤ Hi guys! 😅 I have always loved Heart!! I lived in the NW so they were huge! Ann does have one of the best all time voices!! ❤ However, Nancy, the little bad ass on guitar can do more than sing back up. She sang lead on their 1st #1hit 'These Dreams' (and several more over time on their various albums) 😮😅. I went to the reopening of a race track in the Seattle area. I was privileged to be able to hear Ann sing the Star Spangled Banner, acapella, and I was standing on the rail of the winners circle and Ann was standing in the middle of the winners circle. And I was about 20 feet from her! Unbelievable! Ann was standing there using what looked like a simple microphone, normally used for announcements and it was perfect, just gorgeous!! 😊❤❤

    Another great live Heart performance would be their ccover of Led Zeppelin's Battle Of Evermore 2003 Alive in Seattle tour in particular. It showcases both sisters voices and since you did Zep's version already, this is a no brainer 😉

    The drummer, Michael Derosier, and I went to the same high school. My sister had a crush on him. Before they made it big, they played a tavern (an old roadhouse) a few miles from my home.

    This is "almost" as good as when I saw them in late 77 or early 78 Little Queen tour in Portland Oregon. The radio version of this song is much shorter, when Nancy starts playing the first minute of the song nobody made a sound, we had absolutely no idea what was coming in a few seconds. When the familiar part starts EVERYBODY starts screaming as loud as they can. One of the key moments in one of the best concerts I have ever been to.

  • @cjonesufc
    @cjonesufc Рік тому +2

    Anne tends to overshadow Nancy because she’s the lead singer, but Nancy is not just a phenomenal guitarist. She sings as well as Anne. She just doesn’t do that much of it beyond backup. If you really want to see an unbelievable vocal performance that showcases both of them check out their cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Battle of Evermore” from the “Alive in Seattle” dvd performance.

    • @BobSoltis1
      @BobSoltis1 Рік тому

      Nancy is a good guitarist. Calling her phenomenal is quite the stretch. The great guitar work was 90% Roger Fisher on all these great original "Heart" songs. Steve Fossen was also playing guitar on a lot of them as well as keyboard duties.

    • @Kaleidoscopia
      @Kaleidoscopia Рік тому +1

      @@BobSoltis1 You don't even know the names of the band members and what they do and here you are correcting someone else. Steve Fossen was the bass player and hardly contributed to the songwriting. You were thinking of Howard Leese

    • @BobSoltis1
      @BobSoltis1 Рік тому

      @@Kaleidoscopia Yes I was thinking of Leese and it was a silly mistake. But my point still stands about Nancy being an average guitar player. Anybody in the industry will tell you that. Studio and touring musicians like David Sinclair, Robby Steininger, Gaye Delorme, Jeff Neil, Paul Dean, and Brent Howard were/are far superior and those are just the ones I know/knew personally in the Vancouver area.
