There's nothing better than a great 80's Rock Ballad. Especially one sung by Anne Wilson. She's still one of the best.
She is 71 now and still sings like a godess.
Don't forget her sister singing the higher harmony 😊

I saw Heart on this tour in 1987. They were AMAZING! They even brought out two SPECIAL GUESTS, Stevie Nicks & Grace Slick! COOL SHIT! Ann Wilson is at a different level, and in 'HARD ROCK' no other FEMALE led band is close!!

Alone is the perfect example of a Power Ballad. The 80s synths are retally in play herre.
It's her voice! That beautiful, powerful voice that's stays in your head days after you hear it.
"Alone" is a great 80s power ballad. Heart is epic. The official music video is worth watching. Ann Wilson's voice is magnificent...
And Nancy can sing her ass off too... their vocal harmonies are fantastic.

Funny thing is they hated the video cause it traded on sex to much. But they were hot.
@@esquare807 More because the video focused almost entirely on Nancy's body and only shot Ann from certain angles to hide that she was "heavy". As if her amazing voice wasn't the sexiest thing about it regardless.

Brad's ability to pause the song at the VERY worst moment is legendary. You can usually tell when a song has a break right after the chorus and it's prime time to pause it there, but not Brad!

I'm in my 56th year of living. The Big 80's was really so special for music. I've listened to Hearts music, since my early childhood years. I love the Wilson sisters.
Ann Wilson is one of rock’s great vocalists. She deserves to mentioned along with Freddy Mercury, Robert Plant, Steve Perry, & Paul Rogers. Alone is one of those songs that tricks you into thinking that it’s going to be a sweet little love song before Ann blasts you between the eyes.

This is an absolutely great song. Ann’s voice is so clear and powerful. Nancy a great guitar player. I have always loved this song. One of Heart’s best.

My daughter was about five when this song came out - she fell in love with it, and would always sing along. Watching this kindergartener belting out the chorus with her face and voice showing all the emotion of the original was fascinating, touching, and hilarious all at the same time.

Heart had a second wind in the mid 80s when Alone and other hits were produced. These were more pop oriented since hard rock had gone out of style. Ann Wilson's voice has always been amazing.
Yeah, Heart's a bit like Chicago in that it has 'before' and 'after' versions. In fact, in thinking back on it now, that shift was a big part of why people felt music had sold out corporately. It was less about rebellion and more about sales. For a lot of us, that felt like the final bow to the original run of rock music starting back in the 50's. What followed was cool too, but that line would be hard for people today to comprehend. But being alive for it, that shift was a main point of conversation for at least one generation.
..she never lost a beat, she still sounds great...but I prefer 70s Heart, but they had some strong tracks in the 80s as well...I am a HUGE fan of the Wilson sisters
The 80's iteration of Heart with Howard Leese (guitar), Denny Carmassi (drums) & Mark Andes (bass) were excellent.
I've seen Heart 💖 5x in Colorado USA, and they've been absolutely Fantastic every time I've Seen them. They are Phenominal Live🎶🎶🎶🎶 Easily one of my all time favorite live Bands. 💖

*Heart was one of the groups at the first concert I went to. It was 1978, Cal Jam 2, so before this song was born. But still got to catch those early classics by them.*
Special band, yeah to say the least. Powerhouse vocals, perfectly executed melodies, and flawless guitar riffs. They’re in the RR HOF for a reason.
Guys! Soooo Heart did this cover of Led Zepplin’s Stairway To Heaven at a Live at the Kennedy Center Honors. It’s incredible and flawless. Y’all need to check it out.

80's Heart is terrific, and the 70's Heart is AWESOME, but Heart's tribute to Led Zeppelin for the Kennedy Center Honors is EPIC. Gives me goose bumps every time I watch it.
The curse of getting older for a music lover is never being able to experience hearing these songs for the first time again. Watching Lex experience them is such a gift for me. I know exactly what she's saying about the emotions being conveyed through the music. Its truly awesome watching someone have the same reactions to music as I do

The Wilson sisters are the most underrated songwriters and it breaks my heart that not everyone knows of their greatness.
During the 80s heart was made to use outside songwriters, it was also their most commercially viable time period. However I would say their best material is that in which they wrote them selves. . .

@@dbinc8239 right on, I will probably check it out..I am not trying to knock Night Wish just not my lane..there are many artist that some ppl fawn over and I have a true distaste for, or think they are manufactured garbage. Floor really can sing, has some real pipes in her..just there music hasn't hit me, from what I have heard..maybe not heard the right sing etc but either way she is clear very talented.

The video for this song was somewhat controversial because Ann Wilson (vocalist) had struggled with her weight for many years & because of her size, most of her time on camera were tight facial close ups where her sister Nancy was shot full body & more frequently. Regardless, Ann Wilson is a goddess no matter how her figure fluctuated & the woman of my dreams!! Love this band & I would say that Ann Wilson is the greatest female rock vocalist of all time. 'Straight On' is a great song by Heart you might want to check out too.

These Dreams is sung by Nancy Wilson, Ann Wilson sings most of their songs, and on that song proves that she is probably the most over qualified backup singer in history. But when your sister is a true generational talent vocalist I guess you just have to shred a guitar, which Nancy absolutely does!

I saw Heart and Journey at Boise State University 8 years ago... although they're much older now the sisters still delivered a powerful performance....the only band with a female lead I love.

Love how you capture that 1st verse build to all the stars aligning chorus screaming. Like all gals longing and all guys hope satisfied. Pure. And screaming guitar (onomatopoeia - a word sounding like what the sound is, like crash, fly, bark), but in the guitar.
