I've said this before, I love how you give so much time and depth to an in-game unit that could simply be taken at face value. The MCV is probably the toughest thing to bring to life when comparing it to military units or other buildings.
You forgot one thing about the 2nd World War and the Alternate War, the propensity of Allies to bring repair vehicles: Engineer IFVs with them. Which not only improved survivability of the MCV, and by extension: Prospectors, while they are mobile. But also helped cut down costs for repairs. And then there's the infamous SHRINK MCV/Prospector. Why is it infamous? A shrunken MCV/Prospector deploys faster, and has instant build radius (beating out Soviet Sputniks, and pissing off Imperials) and moves faster than any MCV/Nanocore/Sputnik. Doing this in multiplayer is a surefire way of getting banned. Specially with the way Allies constructs buildings, A lone MCV might pop up 5 defense turrets in an instant. Which if it's a Spectrum tower. Melts any ground unit or structure in a short order. I also love it that Red Alert 3 has individual lore for it's units compared to Red Alert 2, like manufacturing, who designed/built it, it's notable battles, and reason for the design.
Cryo tech in 3 will have unfortunate implications, in the Soviets' point of view. Einstein out of the way, and then emerged the NGO based in The Netherlands called FutureTech

Seems dependent on what game you started with. For me it's TibDawn, and nothing comes anywhere close to it. Red Alert is nice because it shows what the original engine was supposed to be like, but it falls short in other ways for me.
I can't wait to see the continuation of this series. One thing I'm specifically looking forward to is your coverage of each faction's minor and major superweapons and various unit types. Specifically, a favorite strategy of mine whilst playing as the Empire is, if I've successfully captured an Allied MCV, attempt to hide it and construct a Chronosphere to instantly set up Imperial Bases & defense systems by warping my Nanocores around. Can't wait to see how you do it!
I received original Red Alert 2 from USA when I was around 13. It had one of the best made installation process. I believe you took screenshots of MCVs from those files. I like how they were showing vehicles and buildings blueprints with blurred text.
One thing I never understood about Red Alert 3 is that: If the Soviets travel back in time and remove Einstein from the Timeline, that would mean Einstein never removed Hitler from that same Timeline, so wouldn't the Soviets indirectly bring Hitler back? Red Alert 3 could have been Axis vs Soviets.
@@l0rf But doesn't it remove the character across the *entire* timeline? Or only from that point forwards? Because I think there's still technologies in use in RA2 and 3 that Hitler helped promote back in those days, if I'm not mistaken. Then again, I may be wrong on that.
@@Badguy292 I think the unsatisfying answer is that they probably didn't consider this while making the game and wanted to avoid bringing up more problems with time travel than they already have to keep in mind.
Hitler was still fairly unknown in the world at large by the time he was released from prison. So it makes sense that no one would mention him at all. Meanwhile, in RA3 there are still mentions of "unfinished theories on atomic weapons by Albert Einstein before his mysterious disappearance" and the Chronosphere was still developed from his theoretical notes. So unless the time the Soviets traveled TO was before Einstein traveled FROM, the timeline branching still checks out.

4:13 For my thought the USSR is already crushed and collapsed before the event of Tiberian Dawn. For Romanov, my thought he was already being assassinated by a Black Ops Assassin to prevent the second invasion. But something has changed. 4:16 But he's not a trustful man. 4:44 Mr. Acolyte himself aka Yuri. 8:18 Known himself as Kane Acolyte, experts of Psychic units. 9:45 Not only that, my thought it might be made in Scrin from the future.
That’s what the most recent c&c fans thought of. Back when I was a kid I wasn’t aware of the whole back stories and the lore behind of c&c series. You don’t have overreact yourself like that I wasn’t joking. That’s the thought which I think for myself thinking Kane never exist in Red Alert. Although I was being misunderstood, red alert 1 was meant to before Tiberian Dawn rather than leading red alert 2 which caused Yuri aka Kane acolyte due to chronic vortex occurs in a cancelled c&c 3 incursion. From your thought for saying, “Kane doesn’t exist in red alert” Allied forces aka black ops 9 aren’t aware who he was until they become GDI. Plus the soviets, he also works for them unquestionably. Any member who knew or not knew about Kane well for my thought most are witnesses who knew him are all terminated. Although it was meant to kickstart to renegade 2 that leads to Tiberian Dawn but sadly cancelled. For red alert 3, well he never exist there due to temporal distortions which led by that clown face Sheeran who draws Einstein poorly without nukes and rockets. Any members who aren’t aware who Kane are going to be silent sadly.
Sorry to bust into your bubble, although red alert was meant to lead to Tiberian Dawn. Same goes to red alert 2 which leads to renegade 2 then toward Tiberian Dawn. C&C 3 incursion was meant for Yuri aka Kane Acolyte to kick start red alert 2. Although westwood was already terminated by EA sadly.
hey will you also include the post war crisis technology from the ios game in future videos? it happen between yuris revenge and the intro of red alert 3
You're missing a segment here: Red Alert iOS wasn't just a crude port of Red Alert 3's gameplay (much like how C&C3: Tiberium Wars on Java was). It was a mini-continuation of Yuri's Revenge, an epilogue of sorts, which showed how the Soviets recovered, the first iterations of certain technologies we'd see in Red Alert 3 and new ones which were erased, and it showed the Empire's formation (IIRC). This pertains to the current video because we actually see the first iterations of the Allied, Soviet, and Imperial MCV's and Construction Yards, which were the successors to the Yuri's Revenge models.
The issue I have with the Red Alert iOS game is that it is nearly unplayable today. The game was removed from the app store in 2014.The only way you can even have a chance of playing the game is to acquire an older ipad/iphone and then find and download the game off some third party abandonware app site. I'm not entirely convinced that a near unplayable game should be considered canonical.
@@Jethild It was made as a direct prequel to Red Alert 3, and it shows the events of a post-Yuri's Revenge world and a direct lead up to Red Alert 3 proper. Love it or hate it, it's canonical (unlike, say, Red Alert: Online). Funnily enough, Tiberian Twilight Mobile was the same: It was also a prequel to the actual game (and the "Night Moves" pre-order bonus mission for C&C4 itself was also an immediate prequel to the main game, too). As you said though, it's near impossible to find/play; luckily there are plenty of playthroughs on UA-cam from other people, so that's the best I think we're going to get. :(
@@JethildIt doesn't matter if the game is near unplayable or not though? Canon is cannon regardless of how players feel about it. The same could be said that RedAlert 3 shouldn't be considered canon because some people don't like how cartoony and goofy it was. Just because something is hard to directly access to play doesn't mean it isn't canon.
Is it possible to use a slowed down animation when showing the MCVs unpacking? they happen too fast in game to really see the details and such a deconstruction video would be a great time to delve into it.
Can you eventually do Tempest rising and some of the command and conquer mods like rise of red corona, twisted insurgency and paradox? Keep up the good work If you want to do another series, you could do HomeWorld
Wait, I thought that the intro to RA3 was basically the end of the canon story of RA2, not the aftermath of a war that happened after the events of RA 2. They even reference Romanov's loss being the cause there.
There was this Red Alert iOS game that was released back in 2009 which had a single player campaign that had to do with the Soviets starting a new war with the Allies after the merging of the timelines in Yuri's Revenge. In that war, the Soviets managed to steal some of Einstein's research so they could use it to create a time machine which is the one seen at the beginning of RA3. This mobile game was removed from the iOS store back in 2014 and is pretty much unplayable unless you have an older ipad or iphone and find the game off some third party website to download. I'm not sure if the events of that game should really be considered canon though due to the difficulty of even trying to play it today.
Looking forward to when you talk about RA3's Japanese faction. As for the MCV, as a whole, I feel like they should have been designed with some technical as aspects of a command center much like the ones in Generals. However, looking closely at the Allied and Russian MCVs, I can see some aesthetic to indicate where we (the commanders) would be in. But what do you think Jethild and those who read this comment?
"Showtime, fellas!" - (RA2)Allied MCV "Get in position, comrades!" - (RA2)Soviet MCV "As chosen by Yuri!" - Yuri's Army MCV "Prepared to deploy!" - (RA3)Allied MCV "We're on!" - (RA3)Soviet MCV "This location is approved!" - Rising Sun MCV (Yes, I made the ones for RA2 up...)
Nothing really. They directly led to the TS ones. This way does keep the video times down though which means he can put out more. More videos is more good for more profit and more profit is good for making more videos.
Thanks for the vid. BTW, do you consider the Red Alert phone game canon? It was meant to explain what led to the Soviets doing the time travel bit that started Red Alert 3.

I mean... See how it picks up the crate?...
I've been playing Yuri's Revenge for a long time and I still don't get how that crane works...
Yuri is weird, that's why I Prism Tank spam his plans...
16:34 Actually, the Allies call it the Armor Facility just like how the Rising Sun call theirs the Mecha Bay... Only the Soviets can call it the War Factory...
16:39 And this is why the only Allied structures that can provide ground control are the ConYard and Command Hub... And exploitable too, have a starting Prospector deploy near the ConYard and let it worry about the Tech up while the ConYard keeps building up the base... *ALLIES ARE OP, GODDAMMIT!*
21:42 I love this thing right here... The legacy of the Cranes/Foundry in Tiberium Wars as it should've been, being able to build defenses and Superweapons!
22:25 *GAH! IT'S THE KAREN!* (holding spray bottle)
24:08 There was another, the Allies just never knew it was a higher authority...
27:39 Yeah *5000 CREDITS,* as much as the Proton Collider, Vacuum Imploder, or Psionic Decimator! Rewinding to Tiberium, it should be noted that this is also the price for building a new TW1 MCV...
Notice how the crane for Yuri's Construction Yard just seems to float when it moves? Think it is psychic powers moving it? Or magnetic like the Magnatron?
I don't think it's floating. If you look closely it actually has this spring coil attached to it.
@@Jethild And this is why we only talk about Yuri's mind control shenanigans...
Anything beyond that is... (long sip of coffee)
"Construction Complete!"
Love the mention of the ERS androids
4:13 For my thought the USSR is already crushed and collapsed before the event of Tiberian Dawn. For Romanov, my thought he was already being assassinated by a Black Ops Assassin to prevent the second invasion. But something has changed.
4:16 But he's not a trustful man.
4:44 Mr. Acolyte himself aka Yuri.
8:18 Known himself as Kane Acolyte, experts of Psychic units.
9:45 Not only that, my thought it might be made in Scrin from the future.
Kane does not exist in this continuity, *CUT IT OUT!*
18:17 there’s no city Arkhangeisk, we have ArkhangeLsk
I've always wondered though. How much of the third world war in ra2 was romanovs desire vs Yuri's psychic manipulations.
hey will you also include the post war crisis technology from the ios game in future videos? it happen between yuris revenge and the intro of red alert 3
@@KimPossibleShockwaveThanks for letting me know of canon lore I was unaware of. I really appreciate it.
Can't wait for part 3 - Generals' Dozers and Dune's MCVs.
One thing to note, the Empire's nano cores can crush infantry so they're not completely helpless
*CORE RUSH, HURR!!!*
(spams Dojo Cores to Deja Vu!)
Another banger
Is it possible to use a slowed down animation when showing the MCVs unpacking? they happen too fast in game to really see the details and such a deconstruction video would be a great time to delve into it.
Yeah...
It was done for the TW3 MCVs, why not here?...
Can you eventually do Tempest rising and some of the command and conquer mods like rise of red corona, twisted insurgency and paradox?
Keep up the good work
If you want to do another series, you could do HomeWorld
I love this game I grew up in this time! 💪🏻
The Imperial MCV reminds me of the Thundercats Thundertank.
KEEPING THE GAME ALIVE.
If you travel back in time, you can do anything you want because you have already done it, so nothing will change.
gasp...
we doing red alert now?
Yes, he is!😍
Looking forward to when you talk about RA3's Japanese faction.
Jethild can you do a video of the empire of the rising sun.🙏
"Showtime, fellas!" - (RA2)Allied MCV
"Get in position, comrades!" - (RA2)Soviet MCV
"As chosen by Yuri!" - Yuri's Army MCV
"Prepared to deploy!" - (RA3)Allied MCV
"We're on!" - (RA3)Soviet MCV
"This location is approved!" - Rising Sun MCV
(Yes, I made the ones for RA2 up...)
Fun fact: empire of the rising sun construction mode was inspired by EARTH 2140
What is so different about the MCV in the RA Lore vs. C&C Lore universe???
Nothing really. They directly led to the TS ones. This way does keep the video times down though which means he can put out more. More videos is more good for more profit and more profit is good for making more videos.
Thanks for the vid. BTW, do you consider the Red Alert phone game canon? It was meant to explain what led to the Soviets doing the time travel bit that started Red Alert 3.
