Nothing beats Ancient Egypt for me! Everything in AC Origins is masterfully crafted and it's atmosphere and soundtrack was outstanding and memorable! I have played and beaten this game three times in total and i pretty much have memorized every single landmark and location in it. I love every single detail of it such as the visions you see in the desert (some were biblical btw) or the sound the air is making when you're entering a pyramid to explore its secrets and treasures and i really believe those small things fully immerse you into it's setting. And all that excluding the DLC's which added four new beautiful locations from egyptian mythology! By far the most beautiful open world i've ever played and i'm saying this as a Greek who also really enjoyed Odyssey's representation of Ancient Greece! No other AC will probably top Origins for me but i'm really curious to see how they'll handle the Feudal Japan setting because that's one of my favorites!
Lol probably your first assassins creed game. This game ruined the franchise for me only got halfway through it before putting it down for good. Haven’t bought an AC game since I hate the RPG aspect. Honestly I wouldn’t even consider the last 3 Games Assassins creed games.
@@silentninja218 i agree on part, i really liked Origins, i loved bayek and i did not mind the new combat system, but odyssey and valhalla should have been separate from the AC franchise
@@silentninja218 oh give over. I’ve played since AC2, so I’m by no means a newbie to the franchise. The old gameplay was clunky and repetitive, the only thing that refreshed it was a decent storyline, the novelty of free running wore off in each game and ruined its replay ability. AC3 was also in my view quite poor, as was unity; despite both still having the beloved aspects of what you deem to be ‘assassins creed’. My personal favourites are revelations, BF and origins. Origins was different but still an incredible game. ‘I put the controller down’ oh give over, it had a very good story in a beautiful world, tired of all this moaning- let people enjoy the game.

The disappointment on my face when I realized you're a small channel will live with me for days to come. PLEASE MAKE MORE VIDEOS ON AC!! I SUBSCRIBED!!
I absolutely loved both Origins and Black flag, I loved Black flag for the story and combined styles of play, being the on land portions and the open sea. Origins was great because of the graphical rendition of Egypt and how there was so much do to in both. One thing I noticed that made me like both of them were there stories and connection to the first race, with Edward getting a peek at the technology through the sage and Bayek through the tombs and story.
My top 3 settings are: AC: Origins AC: Odyssey AC: Brotherhood I like ancient history the most, although Brotherhood isn’t exactly ancient history, it still has ancient architecture. I’d love to see ancient China, Japan and obviously Ancient Rome, that would be my favourite. Or even Ancient Egypt again but this time in its prime where the Pyramids and the city of Giza was in its in full operation. Although that wouldn’t make sense for an AC game because of AC Origins, I still want to explore that super ancient world haha.
I loved odyssey being in Greece. It was a great setting for the kind of game it was. And I also loved black flag, because being a pirate in that setting, with just enough towns to get that real AC feel was incredible.
Finally someone giving syndicate some love! atmosphere, gameplay and the different mechanics easily make it my favorite next to the ezio games. And London is just so detailed , big and awesome !!
Here goes probably my first youtube comment ever: It is really a pleasure, to see and hear the oppinion of a rewiever so clearly intelligent, on a game series i totally adore. The video caches you from the very start - by simply specifing the criteria if goes for and by now i'm only at the half of it, but i just stopped to say this: "Great work man. Thank you for the intelligence. Thank you for the approach and craftsmanship, while building the list. " :)
Love the video man! Personally I’d love to see a game set in Sassanid Persia. I feel like the culture and time period are untouched by video games lately and it would be amazing to explore. If it were just a single city format though, somewhere in Germany during the Thirty Years War (none in particular, cause I’m not well versed in the time period).
Personally, Odyssey was my favourite map to explore. I might just be a sucker for ancient Greece, but I was blown away just running around the starting island by how gorgeous it was.
Yeah, I prefer Odyssey over Origins, though admittedly for more than just the setting. The video's got a point though, the wilderness feels a little samey especially since you can see how the random camps (not forts) follow the same tiny few standard templates. They really could've mixed those up more.
@@umaransari9765 Madrid wasn't that impressive in the 16th Century, as it had been recently named the capital. Toledo, Valencia, Sevilla Cordoba or Granada would be wayy better.
I was confused when I saw this video in my recommended because I thought you were ranking them based on the game settings and options. Great video by the way.
Man the song in the intro, just hit the feels man, i literally started listening to ac's music while playing any games now, its so relaxing and calming, anyway man great vid 👌 shoot for the stars
Happy to have a non spoilery ranking video. Edit:heckin subbed. Also, I really wish they'd make more maps like Unity and Syndicate. I feel more immersed when I know the map I'm in is accurate to scale. Gameplay aside, Paris and London are my favorites in the series aesthetically.
I own every AC version on every console, and this is the best Assassin's Creed video I've ever viewed. Thank you for making this. And for offering your thoughtful and intelligent insights on each game. Vin
Despite the flaws a lot of the games have, I love them. The story and whole Assassin creed thing was always my most favorite of the whole franchise as I grew up following the Ezio and Altair timeline. Haven't tried Odyssey and Valhalla for that reason, but they look like great games. Also, I definitely subbed, great video!
If you want to have an "assassins creed" experience then you should definitely play Valhalla. It shows a lot about the early hidden ones. Odyssey is the complete opposite though. It doesn't have the assassins in it a lot and it focuses on the setting much more.
I’d have to agree with you on origins being so amazing and top of the list of detail and just beauty. I hope you’ve played Valhalla Because I’ve put well over 100 hours into it and it’s gorgeous!! Also subscribed to see more!!
Odyssey is definitely my favourite. My second is probably France or Egypt. France in my opinion is one of the best because of how detailed it is, especially the monuments in Paris. 16:11 the reason they added so many hills is because Greece is a very hilly place. It has a lot of mountains. Albeit, they added a lot more hills than necessary, but it is still pretty accurate.
Wait why does this guy only have less 10K subscribers. He put together words so well to describe why he chose what he chose, and altogether made a really good video.
Excellent video. As opposed to the other million AC channels that only cover the same topics verbatim, it’s refreshing to see content from someone I truly believe has the same love for the series as I do.
i swear the music is angelic in this franchise , and you lovely and inteligently abused it nicely in ur vid just provoking my inner old experiences with this beautiful games
I found this video because I bought valhalla and found out you attack with the right bumper (I’ve never played an assassin’s creed game when it’s new) so I searched when it was changed from the x button to rb. Just a stupid idea. I’m really glad I found this channel. New sub!
Great video. Awesome content for such a “small” channel. I’d agree with every place you’ve ranked except Constantinople. It’s my favorite setting because I’m obsessed with the Ottoman Empire and the Byzantine empire beforehand. Still great video
Amazing video, I totally agree with your ratings. I honestly think Origns now has taken over from Ac2 in terms of favourite for me. It just has that vibe I’ve never got with any other game since I played Ac2 all those years ago - great video mann
omg i thought i was watching a youtuber with 1 mill+ subs you deserve way more! Proud to say i subscribed so early. You should make similar videos with other videogames
I think the best games are where we can see the cities fully detailed and alive not much the natural part. I'd love to see more european cities and why not italian cities too with the new graphics. Imperial Rome and japanese/chinese cities too.
i loved syndicate. however, i think that if a grappling hook/rope launcher was needed in a setting to climb buildings, it isn’t a great idea for a location at all. of course it was helpful sometimes, and if you didn’t enjoy using it, you were able to avoid it most of the time. despite this, i still think the game was extremely enjoyable and absolutely gorgeous!!
The game isn’t about the parkour though. It’s about the historical accuracy and the story between the Templars and Assassins. Needing a new feature in order to navigate the map doesn’t make the setting a bad choice.
@@Delete240 i know, but parkour is still a huge part of the game. i think that if they had to take away a significant part of the gameplay to add to the setting, then maybe the setting wasn’t strong enough in the first place.
Man you are epitome of underrated Such a tiny channel whipping out such professionally made content You should make more AC content, also you can branch over to other franchises especially Hitman because they both have stealth mechanics and Jesper Kyd soundtracks
I still think Revelations could've been one of the best settings in the franchise. As well as the copy paste city blocks, I feel like the story never incorporated the setting enough to make you feel connected
I definitely agree with your no.1 pick because to me Egypt never felt boring or repetitive like if you go to Memphis & then to another city the environment changes drastically which makes you actually feel as if you are in a different location now , not like Odyssey which makes you feel as if you are in the same city .
I remember playing AC1 when I was like 10 years old and the story was so intriguing to me that I even went on to tell my classmates about the incessant conflict between the Templars and the Assassins. Needless to say, they did not understand me...good times
Odyssey was my first AC game so it will always have a special place in my heart, plus it’s ancient freaking Greece. Though as a US history buff, 3 is also fascinating. How are you so small?? Amazing content! And can I say thanks for not mindlessly hating odyssey
@@dragonballworld8070 dude ever since I’ve played the ezio trilogy, 3, unity and Valhalla. I know what AC Is lol and odyssey still is one of my favs out of them 🤷
Ever since the Ezio games, I always hoped that an AC game would go to Egypt someday. They finally did, and they knocked it out of the park. My favorite AC setting by far!
Very pleased how high Syndicate made it. Most AC fans tend to not really like the map saying it doesn't "fit" AC. Which I have never understood. It's one of my favorites, but that's probably because I love London. Great video.
I really enjoy Syndicate as a whole. It doesn't fit the idea of what some "fans" believe AC has to be, but it doesn't take itself too seriously and it put a ton of effort into filling the setting with things to do that were totally unique to the era and location.
Rogue is severely underrated and so is the North Atlantic setting. It is beautiful. And playing as a Templar in a more modern america is a hell of a lot better than playing as Connor was.
Agreed. Maybe it's just me but assassin's creed rogue is the only one Ive enjoyed to the point I went back and collected and 100% everything. The only other one that has done something similiar so far is revelations lol. Both at the bottom of the list sadly. I'm currently playing unity and will be playing origins after on my pc.
During each entry I was more and more impressed, not only with the content quality but with the fact that your list is EXACTLY like mine. You've earned a subscriber man!
I saw the length of this video and thought: "okay, it is a bit long, I will just skip to see where he ranked the games" I watched the whole video it felt like 5 minutes
As someone from NY it is clear what Rogue's river valley was representing. The Hudson River Valley of course! Which runs highly navigable to Albany. And you are actually incorrect about the mountains. Albany is in the Apalachian range, wedged between the Catskills and Adirondacs. Though semi semantics, as the mountains in the distance are intended to be further north atlantic. They tied all this in in a unique way, putting areas further north and south of the US in here, which works really well rather than forcing you to sail down the entire country. Areas we never would go to otherwise without adding dead space
I'm glad you enjoyed it! For me, Ubisoft has this issue where when they have wide open areas they stop caring about the geography as much, like how the kingdom of AC1 and the frontier of AC3 vaguely represent the areas in between the major cities, but mix everything up in bizarre ways. After AC4 was able to give us the entirety of the Caribbean in an imperfect but still identifiable way, I had higher hopes for this river valley map. But you're right, it is unique and interesting, and I'm glad it resonated with your experiences in the region.
Ancient Egypt from Origins is 100% my favorite AC setting ever and beautifully made video dude and you definitely deserve more views and subscribers :)
I would say that my top three favorite settings are 1. The Caribbean 2. Paris 3. Rome I would still say that AC brotherhood was my favorite game all together but I loved the ship combat if BF and exploring the sea. I also really loved Paris because it was fun exploring and just running around and I think that world was very lived in with the massive crowds a casual walkers around. Rome was actually really fun to parkour around and the environment all together looked pretty cool.

AC Valhalla is currently the best selling AC game and was by all accounts a huge success for Ubi, so what point are you trying to make exactly?
@@krovarus1911 every assassins creed game after origins, was the best selling assassins creed game
@VinAr Run trying to be different lmfaoo
@VinAr Run Despite rpg-esque aspect, the game was good. The map was the most detailed I’ve ever seen not just in AC but in most video games.
Syndicate is so underrated. Especially the 'bonus' section during the First World War.
It has a great setting, that's for sure.
Victorian London is so bland and dismal though
I’m glad somebody else recognizes that game. I love the setting and missions with the conspiracies and interesting missions.
@@SC-xt8lz what did you expect
it was definitely more comedic compared to other AC's which I did enjoy for a change
Some speculated that the upcoming game would take place in India, due to some leaks if I'm not mistaken.
@@silentninja218 yeah i totally agree that this game was just not that good gameplay wise
I also hated the rpg system not because i hate rpg’s in particular but because in the new games they have just done horribly with the physics and boring stats
I also think that this game kinda ruined the franchise for me but what really topped it was odyssey wich in my opinion was so boring and stupid
But you can’t ignore one thing that this comment mentions and that is the setting wich is indeed absolutely beautiful and i really enjoyed exploring it
The franchise also hadn’t yet completely let down on the assassins aspect and the story was pretty good
If it didn’t have such weak gameplay and boring mechanics this game could’ve been so much better
The disappointment on my face when I realized you're a small channel will live with me for days to come. PLEASE MAKE MORE VIDEOS ON AC!! I SUBSCRIBED!!
Thanks! More in the pipeline!
Ancient Greece is by far my favorite setting in the AC series. I might be biased but I had a blast exploring my homeland in ancient times.
Origins makes me cry because it’s so fucking good
Dude me too
This „Origins-Ezio-Song-version“ is sooooo nostalgic

Nice pfp
My top 3 settings are:
AC: Origins
AC: Odyssey
AC: Brotherhood
I like ancient history the most, although Brotherhood isn’t exactly ancient history, it still has ancient architecture.
I’d love to see ancient China, Japan and obviously Ancient Rome, that would be my favourite. Or even Ancient Egypt again but this time in its prime where the Pyramids and the city of Giza was in its in full operation. Although that wouldn’t make sense for an AC game because of AC Origins, I still want to explore that super ancient world haha.
origins and odyssey really blew my mind.. I hope they got back to rome, but ancient time... also I want ancient japan, babylonia, etc.. damn
I loved odyssey being in Greece. It was a great setting for the kind of game it was. And I also loved black flag, because being a pirate in that setting, with just enough towns to get that real AC feel was incredible.

Here goes probably my first youtube comment ever:
It is really a pleasure, to see and hear the oppinion of a rewiever so clearly intelligent, on a game series i totally adore.

Thank you, appreciate it!
If you want to have an "assassins creed" experience then you should definitely play Valhalla. It shows a lot about the early hidden ones. Odyssey is the complete opposite though. It doesn't have the assassins in it a lot and it focuses on the setting much more.
@@andrewross3004 yeah thanks, I’ve heard Valhalla would be a good choice. I might buy it and give it a try

Great video. Awesome content for such a “small” channel. I’d agree with every place you’ve ranked except Constantinople. It’s my favorite setting because I’m obsessed with the Ottoman Empire and the Byzantine empire beforehand. Still great video
One of the reasons I wanted to do a video on the AC settings is that all of them are really worth playing, and Constantinople is no exception!
Amazing video, I totally agree with your ratings. I honestly think Origns now has taken over from Ac2 in terms of favourite for me. It just has that vibe I’ve never got with any other game since I played Ac2 all those years ago - great video mann
Unity for me was my favorite map to run around. Idk why but parkour in unity just hit different compared to all other games

Wait.... this isn’t about air conditioners settings!
😂
4:13 Ottoman Empire: am I a joke to you?
Watching this right before my driving license theory exam, very calming. Thanks for the vid
i loved syndicate. however, i think that if a grappling hook/rope launcher was needed in a setting to climb buildings, it isn’t a great idea for a location at all. of course it was helpful sometimes, and if you didn’t enjoy using it, you were able to avoid it most of the time. despite this, i still think the game was extremely enjoyable and absolutely gorgeous!!
I leveld so quickly trough the fightclubs I went way too strong for my enemies 😅
@@chrry_wine probably because by that time most buildings were getting too tall to scale quickly.

Ezio’s family makes me cry every time I hear it
Ezios collection is my fav
Origins was so good that regardless of being relatively new, I still get nostalgic of it
Glad you called it the Eastern Roman Empire rather than the false title it’s so often given 😉
