Thanks for mentioning Bully. Rockstar is sadly too busy swimming in the money that GTA online gives them to give us a sequel. It’s one of my personal all time favorite games. I wish they’d give us another
Love how they mentioned Onimusha and Red Faction! Onimusha was one of my favorite game series ever, and Red Faction was so underrated. It was a solid destruction game back when hardware was limited. Makes me wonder why there's not more destruction games these days.
2:58 Honestly *_Days Gone_* is criminally underrated in my opinion, i loved the motorcycle mechanic of the game because it genuinely feels like a second character in the game
Days Gone is amazing. The story, the world, everything is just great. In my Top5 of all time PS-Games. And I would be over the moon if ever a DG2 would happen...
The Evil Within deserves a third entry that focuses on what happened to characters like Ruvik and Oda. Blend the grime and grit of the first game with the more surgical, arthouse aesthetic of the second. I really love this series and how it handles survival and action horror elements.
@@DillyBar_666, first one is best enjoyed when you've set your full attention and mind to it. So, if you don't feel like persisting, it's for the best not to go through with it immediately. Took a while for me, too, to get a grip and figure that game out properly. Second one is a lot more easy to get into from the get go. And the narrative is more cohesive in the sequel. Tho I still prefer the tone and batsh** insane moments from the original.
Thank you guys for talking about “The Saboteur”. It recently released on steam and I’ve been playing it on my deck what a blast down memory lane it has been. I would do anything to have a remaster or a sequel to the first game!
Steambot Chronicles. An incredible, but also very underrated PS2 title that deserves way more love and respect. You had a huge variety of customization with your robot-car, tons of choices that could alter the plot, and a plethora of jobs to pick from so you had a lot of options for what you were doing every day in the game. It was slated for a PS3 sequel, but sadly the tragic 2011 disaster in Japan led to the company putting the kibosh on that title. The original developers did reform and have been making games off and on, but it seems like nobody at the team has done anything with the property. A game like that on modern hardware could be amazing with a seamless open-world, faster and tighter combat, and more choices to allow for near limitless playthroughs.
@@shrek_yourself Guardians game is superb written, and its also very beautiful, the graphics, color and artistic design is unbelievable. It strangely runs very well on my below mid PC, its probably the best looking game I ever played, at least for how it looks on my computer, I beat Cyberpunk, but on my specs, Cyberpunk is not that great looking... That said, to me, Spiderman PS4 is still the better game. Spiderman is probably my favorite PS4 game in all honestly, that or Ghost of Tsushima, its very fun. Guardians combat was very mid, not very entertaining, and to me, I was reminded of better games, like Mass Effect. I liked Guardians because it was we have Mass effect at hope type of game, and its good, but with SPiderman, to me, that genre of game reached its final form there, I wasnt thinking of better games, I think of Spiderman now when I play games with Arham combat. But yes, please, we need Guardians sequel, that was great!
Its is a great game but the characters never shut the hell up in the dozen hour playthrough. A sequel with more confidence would not be afraid to lack dialogue every second so kids would not avert their eyes to the Family Guy/Subway Surfers playing on their second screen.
@@ehcorthey do talk a lot but that's literally the characters they are. I can get you might not like it but it amazed me that I virtually never heard a repeated line in my whole playthrough. The amount of dialogue they must have recorded is insane. I have a soft spot for the Wolverine game, and the various Spiderman games have always been good but this is my favorite Marvel game.
Days Gone was GOTY for me just a little later than the year it released I really wish they would continue the story it was great and the gameplay mechanics and cool visual tricks to simulate massive hordes was top notch! I really want a sequel 😢
IIRC, one of the biggest problems Burnout had was that modern car manufacturers HATE the idea of their vehicles looking anything less than perfect, so it probably stifled a lot of the dev team's creativity, as they'd have to make generic vehicles. We all want to see the sort of devastation a Porsche or Mercedes or Tesla could do from the safety of the other side of a computer monitor, but car companies poo poo'd that notion.
Days Gone is so awesome! It's among my favorites! Whoever was playing it for the video had me 🤦♀️. I get showing how you're getting chased by a hoard but the constant running into dead ends and obstacles was hard to watch. LOL
I thought the same thing. Like wtf isn't he jumping over the railing? Where is the setup with traps and explosive barrels? Hell, where were the actual HUGE hordes you have to deal with? And the game didn't end with a cliffhanger, it ended with a "the future is bright, but we gotta lot of work to do to get there" type of ending.
@@danbooke2001 ehmmm, the big reveal that the doctor really is an intelligent zombie, leading to a new zombie evolution is not a cliffhanger????????????????????????? ooooooookkk
For those of you who don’t know already, #2 recommendation, red faction gorilla, actually came out with a PlayStation 4 version called “red faction gorilla re-mars-tered!” I was completely obsessed with the red faction gorilla game and just stumbled upon it a year ago, bought it and had the time of my life. Kind of reminded me of how call of duty, modern warfare one and two were remastered and released for PlayStation 4.
Red Faction Guerrilla really deserved a REAL sequel. It's a shame that Embracer had to shut down the studio that was working on the sequel, but I'm hoping that we'll get one, even if it takes years..
Star Wars Republic Commando. One of the best Star Wars games ever and we never got a sequel or anything like it in the Star Wars universe. Now with the Clone Wars series they could really expand upon the clone army and their role and style.
Hey Gameranx team - great vid! Unreal being the top one is a no-brainer. But that got me thinking and going down the nostalgia isle and I have a suggestion for your next video: top games that deserve a remake. It would be similar to what you presented here, but for those I wouldn't suggest a sequel necessarily, but just a remake for visuals and gameplay (improve the clunky old, but leave the good parts as they were) Games I would include: - Gothic - it's probably coming out soon anyway - Zanzarah - for pokemon fans that want something like that, could do a marketing stunt like Palworld - Severance: Blade of Darkness - a game somewhere between Dark souls and Gothic that could appeal to both audiences - Sid Meier's Pirates! - who needs skull and bones when you can dance in a ballroom to seduce a rich governor's daughter? I'm sure there are many more games with unique gameplay that deserve a remake the same as Tomb Raider or System Shock got. Thanks!
Same here, but I would give them a LOT of 💩 for releasing a buggy unfinished game if it were to be released in the same state as days gone 1. That's why I don't like their whole "people should have bought it full price" reasoning; at least the developers of cyberpunk had the decency to admit that it shouldn't have been released the way it did but nope, these devs blame the customers...
Days Gone is one of the best action shooters I’ve ever played. I genuinely don’t understand why it was treated as a failure. It sold more units than all of Bend Studio's previous games combined. I think at some point devs and studios need to stop listening to critics and start paying attention to what the fans want. Ya know…. Those of us who are actually paying for the experience.
@@YOUNGJBR , same. I put in 11 hours and put it down. A lot of mechanics are being recycled between games. I can tolerate that if the world/story is unique and interesting enough, but this didn't do it for me. Glad others enjoyed it, though.
i don't even like the whole zombie thing but days gone gripped me so hard after the first couple of hours. i feel like they botched the earlygame pacing tho, it really takes time before it opens up.
I've been asking for another Legend Of Dragoon game for about 20 years now. 1 amazing game that's still loved today, but it was a 1 and done for some reason

I literally only came in to the comments to see if someone mentioned KOA, I mean it's still got a massive cult following to this day and definitely deserves a sequel more compared to some of the other games mentioned in this list
We're getting Soul Reaver remakes, a kickstarter for a prequel comic of Raziel, collectible statues, a soundtrack and even a Soul Reaver replica. Legacy of Kain is FINALLY coming back!
Unreal Tournament was the game we Played before or after we got tired of playing Quake 3 Arena. My friends were computer nerds and had a room downstairs with 5 or 6 working gaming rigs. LAN parties every single night. God those were the best of times.
YES! For the love of everything, please bring back Unreal Tournament. That was my favorite series of all times ever, for the first half of my life until the series died.
OMG, thank you for reminding me the name of this game!! I knew I played this game as a kid but couldn't remember the name and wanted to watch some playthrough because nostalgia.. 😅😅😅
I know, right? But to be honest, i can't decide if i like the original or Catalyst better - they both have their strong points. Love the franchise though.

Ghost Recon, Battlefield (Bad Company), Ace Combat, Crysis, Syndicate, Just Cause, Killzone, Resistance, Homefront, Singularity, Dark Sector, F.E.A.R, Turok, Max Payne, Lost Planet, Vanquish, Medal of Honor, Batman, Borderlands, Bulletstorm, Crackdown, The Darkness, Wolfenstein, Splinter Cell, Binary Domain, Kane & Lynch, Frontlines Fuel of War, Chorvs, Anthem, Split/Second, Blur, Need for Speed (Shift), Mass Effect, Chronicles of Riddick, Dead to Rights, Ninja Gaiden, Dishonored, Generation Zero, Gravity Rush, The Surge, Rage, Mirrors Edge, inFamous, Uncharted, Bioshock... These are just a few examples of games/franchises that I would like to see more of. (edit) I'll add games as I remember them
@richdelaney9500 👍 NONE of these games have current-gen releases they're all last-gen or seventh-generation. That's wild to think about. * Chorvs and Borderlands have current-gen releases but the rest don't
Oh man. Red Faction: Guerilla was wonderful. They also had a game mode where you racked up points demolishing as much as possible on a time limit. Oh, and the multiplayer modes were great, too! They let you set up servers with your own preferences. I remember setting up the smallest map - like a small city block of 3-story houses, and limiting the equipment to only sledgehammers + those backpacks that made you able to charge through walls/rocket up/down through ceilings/floors, and so on. And then me and my friends went to town. Quite often we ended up destroying everything, so we were basically running around on the ground with nothing left of the buildings. Those were the days!
How could you not put "The Legend of Dragoon" on this list?!?! That's one of the best JRPGs. You could even do a prequel or sequel with the game too. And I love how your interaction with the combat will determine how much or if you do damage. Something I've yet to see repeated in a turn based game.
You got 2 of my 3 biggest sequel wishes, The Saboteur and No One Lives Forever. My other one is a Jedi Academy sequel. We need more Kyle Katarn and Jaden Korr.
Yes, I came here specifically for Prey, glad that I'm not the only one thinking it deserves a second chance. Such an underrated gem. I just booted it up recently for a New Game+ playthrough and to finally play Mooncrash too.
Sleeping Dogs DEFINITELY deserves a sequel. I never expected to like (much less, LOVE) this game as much as I do. The DLCs are a riot. It would be a crying shame not to make a sequel. I play this game once a year - it’s always fun. There are so many things to do and it never takes itself seriously. Good job on adding this to the list!
Just finished Sleeping Dogs last week. I bought it 5 years ago, but never played it. Then, I decided to play it and BOY! I am now trying to get all achievements
One of my favorite underrated games was Midway's hidden gem: Stranglehold. The story, Max Payne-like gameplay (with incredible destruction effects) were top-notch at the time of release. I would love to see someone collaborate with John Woo and Chun Yao Fat again
No One Lives Forever staring Katie Archer can never happen. The creator wanted to buy the rights back. But first, He wanted to know who he had to pay. But everyone he contacted replied with the gut crushing response. Nobody knows who owns the rights to the game, and that means everyone is too scared to make a sequel. Thanks to the studio getting bought and sold multiple times and mergers and etc.. caused this situation. Now nobody knows what to do despite multiple people who worked on the original game having come forward wanting to make it happen and getting that soul crushing response.
16:45 - No, that is absolutely not what I would want from another Brutal Legend game. I want the game that the trailers and demo told me I was gonna get.
Whenever people talk about Burnout needing to be revived (which I definitely agree) nobody ever mentions Dangerous Driving (2019). It's a spiritual sequel to Burnout and was created by some of the devs who made the Burnout games. It is literally the exact same gameplay as the classic Burnout games (not the horrible open world of Paradise). They couldn't use the Burnout name and some other things, but it plays exactly the same. They changed "crash time" to "danger time" but the after touch mechanic when you crash is exactly the same. It does feel slightly low budget as it had about 10% of the staff and budget of the favourite Burnout games, but it's definitely worth playing. I'm always shocked that nobody ever mentions this game!
A game that deserves a comeback is Vigilante 8. It was an amazing car shooter game, one of the best sort of battle royale with each car having a special weapon. That was hella fun to play as a kid!
I'm so glad you mentioned the Legacy of Kain series. They're FREAKING AWESOME !! There was Nosgoth that took place in the same "universe" but, sadly, the game has been closed (amazing game, by the way). I REALLY (!!!) hope that we'll see more of it in the future ! You guys are great !!
One I used to play forever ago was Warzone 2100. There's still an active community and the has been open sourced. But the gameplay was basically an RTS where you design your own tanks/jets. Pick a body, a move type (tracks wheels, hover, etc), and a gun. There were great synergies between things like radars/jammers and artillery. There was massive explosions and lasers and cannons. It was a ton of fun but has been utterly forgotten. Even the campaign was a fairly novel one in a post apocalyptic setting.
It was by far one of the best zombie games of all time. The only reason why people don't like it is because they can't handle the first few hours of build up but man when you get the twist at the logging camp I felt as stunned as he was in the game
@@shrek_yourselfthe game opens up like midway through. You don’t even get to horde events until like 60% of the game. The gameplay, map, main story and atmosphere of the game are done extremely well. Additionally it actually has some decent lore in the world and the voice acting and dialogue are actually done pretty well too. The beginning is boring but that’s really it. No idea what’s “mid” about the game besides the ripper and marauder camps. It even has dynamic events which I doubt you played enough to even know that. The progression of your price of crap bike to a fully kitted out drifter bike is also done extremely well.
@@MasterMafiaDKexactly. It’s because it doesn’t have a super TikTok full pedal to the metal opening like something out of horizon 5 they don’t like it. Devs have even said they put the most effort into the opening of the game because that’s what gets the best reviews because people don’t have attention spans. It’s that simple.
It was cool that you mentioned NOLF - that game was hilarious! It had vehicles, stealth, crazy gadgets, and over the top characters. The music was pretty darn cool as well. NOLF 3 would be a a fun game!
The fact that Bully and Sleeping dogs haven't had a sequel is mental. Sleeping Dogs is so underrated. The story, the Batman style combat, the PARKOUR!! and the so good but under appreciated and underused Hong Kong setting is amazing. Square Enix is sitting on a gold mine if they make a sequel. All they need is another great and touching story and better driving mechanics and Sleeping Dogs 2 will be such a hit. Also IGI 2 never got the sequel that it actually deserved. And I will never forget Burnout Paradise intoducing me to Guns N' Roses. Everytime I hear paradise city I can just picture me driving in the city taking down cars one after another.
I've been so immersed in the Deus Ex Machina series that I'm still having a hard time understanding how the 2nd game didn't sell well. The fact it left off on a cliff hanger ending is just salt on a gaping wound.
Okami 2 - That's it. And no, the game they made for the 3DS (Okamiden) is not Okami 2. What happens to Amaterasu when she goes to the celestial plane?! Come on Capcom!
I feel Battlefield Hardline is another game that deserves a second chance, the campaign mode was amazing, just a shame people wanted another multiplayer game from them.

Thanks for mentioning Bully. Rockstar is sadly too busy swimming in the money that GTA online gives them to give us a sequel. It’s one of my personal all time favorite games. I wish they’d give us another
I’m actually surprised they haven’t just dropped a next gen remaster to appease their fanbase while we all wait for GTA 6 to drop

Love how they mentioned Onimusha and Red Faction! Onimusha was one of my favorite game series ever, and Red Faction was so underrated. It was a solid destruction game back when hardware was limited. Makes me wonder why there's not more destruction games these days.
Eternal Darkness deserves at least a remaster on modern consoles. A sequel would be cool as well!
That game was so good, the sanity meter effects were unique and believable.

I think it’s could not be possible. The game is locked on GameCube I think.
I would love a sequel for Freedom Fighters on the PS2. That game rocked. Also Legend of Dragoon from the PS1
Came here to say freedom fighters.
Love both of these games
The faces in L.A. Noire may not be very detailed by today's standards, but their sheer expressiveness has never been equaled in the years since, IMO.
2:58 Honestly *_Days Gone_* is criminally underrated in my opinion, i loved the motorcycle mechanic of the game because it genuinely feels like a second character in the game
I love that game and I Platinum the game last year 👍
Days Gone is amazing.

Let’s keep hoping!
I just tried to play the first one again and couldn’t stay interested the second one looks cool and I own it but I’m gonna have to try it again later
@@PsychoRavager Yes, Sir
@@DillyBar_666, first one is best enjoyed when you've set your full attention and mind to it. So, if you don't feel like persisting, it's for the best not to go through with it immediately. Took a while for me, too, to get a grip and figure that game out properly. Second one is a lot more easy to get into from the get go. And the narrative is more cohesive in the sequel. Tho I still prefer the tone and batsh** insane moments from the original.
Yes but tango gamework is closed now
I'm so glad that games like *DAYS GONE, SLEEPING DOGS, and BURNOUT* were mentioned.
Thank you guys for talking about “The Saboteur”. It recently released on steam and I’ve been playing it on my deck what a blast down memory lane it has been. I would do anything to have a remaster or a sequel to the first game!
I'd love a Sunset Overdrive sequel just because the movement is 👌
Especially now that Insomniac has perfected their movement system with Spiderman.
I so want this. That game was hilarious
MS own the publishing rights for any sequel to sunset overdrive and now Sony owns Insomiac so that would be on MS to do it
Steambot Chronicles.
I think Legacy of Kain but in the style of the new God of War games would be fantastic.
Fuck yeah
Blood omen 2 went hard
Gardians of the galaxy deserves a sequel it's one of the best narrative games in the last few years...
It blew my mind with just how good it was
Its is a great game but the characters never shut the hell up in the dozen hour playthrough.
Guardians was such a hidden gem to me. I never had so much fun with the characters and story as much as I did playing it. I'd love a second game
Same reason why GTA has always had generic cars. Some more close to their real life counterparts than others but still
Nfs most wanted 2012 and hot pursuit 2010 are kinda like burnout games with real cars

Hey Gameranx team - great vid! Unreal being the top one is a no-brainer.
But that got me thinking and going down the nostalgia isle and I have a suggestion for your next video: top games that deserve a remake.
It would be similar to what you presented here, but for those I wouldn't suggest a sequel necessarily, but just a remake for visuals and gameplay (improve the clunky old, but leave the good parts as they were)
Games I would include:
- Gothic - it's probably coming out soon anyway
- Zanzarah - for pokemon fans that want something like that, could do a marketing stunt like Palworld
- Severance: Blade of Darkness - a game somewhere between Dark souls and Gothic that could appeal to both audiences
- Sid Meier's Pirates! - who needs skull and bones when you can dance in a ballroom to seduce a rich governor's daughter?
I'm sure there are many more games with unique gameplay that deserve a remake the same as Tomb Raider or System Shock got.
Thanks!
Days gone would be bought day 1 by me if a sequel is ever released. Lots of love and soul in that game
Same here
Same here, but I would give them a LOT of 💩 for releasing a buggy unfinished game if it were to be released in the same state as days gone 1.
It scored a 9 out of 10 everywhere, what are you talking about
Well Sony decided it was a failure. I tried playing it but I couldn’t get into it it’s boring

Enslaved is an excellent game. It had a weird ending, but it's definitely underrated and totally deserving of at least a remaster.
I agree that Criterion should make a new Burnout game instead of destroying what is left of Need For Speed
How could you not put "The Legend of Dragoon" on this list?!?! That's one of the best JRPGs. You could even do a prequel or sequel with the game too. And I love how your interaction with the combat will determine how much or if you do damage. Something I've yet to see repeated in a turn based game.

The Saboteur is such an underrated game! One of my favorites growing up, recently bought it on steam and played through it 100% once again.
Yep loved that game
I'm playing it on deck for the first time; very good atmosphere, very bad acting/dialogue 😂
Yep, right up there with Twisted Metal, I probably even preferred vigilante 8
The Suffering would be a good one to remake or have a sequel too

Seven the Days Long Gone needs another chance. Underrated and forgotten doesn't even begin to describe it.
Dishonored needs to make a comeback they are two of my favorite games of all time.
I've been playing days gone and it truly is incredible. I'm about 41 hours in and I don't want it to end.

@@shrek_yourselfthe game opens up like midway through. You don’t even get to horde events until like 60% of the game. The gameplay, map, main story and atmosphere of the game are done extremely well.
