The game looks beautiful especially in the daylight and there is a lot to do(missions, collectibles, etc). And not to forget the customization.after all this time I still play this game.
@@jakecorshia No problem here for PS players. Also, I personally didn't encounter as many glitches in the game as other people did, and I got the game on release, so I played it as it was getting updated. It took me listening to a review online to realize that glitches were a problem at all for the general public.
@@Brevskiyou'd expect, yet most modern games can't even handle cities like in unity. I just recently started playing it for the first time and I'm blown away
Newest assassins creed, and watch dogs 2, is the proof that ubisoft really playing it save this time, too save. But, i hope they actually learn something new from that ghost recon breakpoint update that they should listen to their FANS and themself, rather than the majority of gamers who don't even play their game.
@@Nocturne33 It's still broken in many ways on console, that's why. Most of the criticisms are centered around bugs, glitches, and broken features or graphical issues. All of which can be fixed with a remaster. You have to understand it was widely considered to be wasted potential, most people want to like the game, especially considering hindsight. Basically, if the wrinkles can be ironed out it would have a massive comeback.
I agree with everything you said, except for the part about having the best storyline. AC Unity is set in the middle of the French Revolution, one of the most exciting periods of history! Yet the story is one of a personal vendetta. It has almost no affect on the Revolution unfolding around you except for a mission or two, and the Revolution has almost no influence on the game's plot except for a cool backdrop. So, while I don't think the story was bad, it had potential as big as the Grand Canyon, and it just didn't deliver.
well the games will always be between assassins and templar since I'm not into history i had no issue with this story. it actually tells you how the world of assassins and templar revolves around different things that don't bother with the normal world events.
I have a feeling theyll make a seccond one in the far future where we can have a hand in the revolution. Heres to hoping anyway, its the only way Ubi will win me back into the AC universe
Everybody says Rogue is just a copy of black flag and I mean there not wrong but its still good and refreshing plus it's still a assassins creed game and is really fun the outfits are good story is very good and the ship play is fun so thank you for saying that rogue is underrated
@@projectrobot1095 Sorry friend, but it's not gonna happen because the new fans really like odyssey (i dont). Ubisoft probably gonna continue this route and release a heavy RPG assassin creed game.
AC doesn’t feel the same after Unity Syndicate was good but it was more like a gang war I’m not gonna talk about Origins and Odyssey cuz they’re not Assassin’s also Valhalla joined the chat too
The only game that actually makes you feel like an assassin. Pleease give us a sequel ubisoft. Even though its not perfect, it was a step in the right direction for an AC game.
@Fraser Souris the rpg system is shallow compared to a lot of great RPG, all I can give credit is that is one of the good action games. Ac games? Nah, it pays no tribute to ac roots.
Hiero Vigilante but part of that is due to the multiple play styles the game gives to you to play, you can be a tank, marksman, a ninja, or a master duelist, and as the enemy’s get harder you need better gear. That’s ultimately in my opinion what makes the game so good. The progression with weapons and armor with stats that make sense for the point of the story you’re in
Shaman only reason I picked up Unity is his videos, lol. I’m aware of side hops and breakfall and use them both very frequently. I just wish that they were implemented in the same way as they were in previous games in the series as opposed to being contextually triggered.
To be honest i dont like story for me brotherhood story is the best but the gameplay and environment play is awesome thats why ac unity is still on my pc

@@alexkuauhoselo4215 origins has the best character development in the series and improves combat while making it more fun while also putting us in a nice interesting winter environment. Origins is great. So is unity. But Origins > unity
The older games didn't actually have a parkour system that did the job for you. You actually had to do a precise input. It made me appreciate the Ezio trilogy parkour. I used to feel janky about it but once I tried to learn the mechanics more I understood deeply of how great it was. Although it may seem outdated but it's still good. If only they did have that control scheme back with Unity's fluid animations.
For me it feels like AC unity is much more on rails with the parkour than the Ezio games for example. The opposite of what the youtuber here seems to believe.
@@jinhunterslay1638 Don't lose hope. A Ubisoft dev (on Reddit) told me that Valhalla, Origins, and Odyssey were part of the same dev cycle. We are gonna see a complete overhaul with the game that comes after Valhalla. And Unity's parkour will most likely return. The devs know that fans want that system back, but they couldn't do it, since, in the beginning, they chose to build the RPG elements for those games rather than the transversal. Now, they will change that. Valhalla has its parkour tweaked a little bit (since they didn't have to code much RPG elements because they just imported them from Odyssey), and they had a little more time, but the next game should be the real change.
Ezio did have a legitimate love interest, her name was Cristina. Their whole struggled relationship story was in AC2 and continued in AC Brotherhood through specific missions
Sophia His wife? The Sophia missions that were basically a love story including ezio’s courting and a date between them and the ending when they save each other
@@odd-eyes6363 Ezio's memories with her appeared in Brotherhood's base game, no DLC needed. It is explained that these memories were buried inside Ezio and Desmond could access them at Brotherhood's since by that time he has a very high synchronization level with him. She's also mentioned in one of Ezio's letters to Claudia in Revelations: "After the death of Cristina something withered in me... But that feeling, that capacity for love, has returned. I adore Sofia, but dare not drag her into this life of mine... not without fear of hurting her, or driving her away." Yes, she may not be a major character like Elise, but she was still Ezio's love interest for most of his life.
Gabriel Galbán it’s still not comparable. Elise had one game and developed really well, while Cristina was barely featured and she had 3 games to develop her own character and relationship to Ezio. Sofia was definitely an active love interest comparable to Elise but Cristina’s relationship was just a memory that occurred outside of the plot of the game in which it was featured
The reason that unity is the best assasin creed game because it had the best parkour and amazing movement the grapicis was very good and the stealth kill was so much fun
But if AC2 had Unity's parkour, the Parkour challenges would need to go and there would need to be a new way to get Altair's armour. You have full 100% control over the OG Parkour system while in Unity it's automatic.
And if they also remove Ezio's gary stueness and sequences 12/13, and revamp the title drop for something other than "yo bro, i hope we don't die or something", yeah, that'd be great!
@@aarondubourg3706 actually i personally feel the opposite, ac1-rogue the parkour was good but very limited pretty much climb up or down with nice animations but still sort of janky, unity's parkour was quite fluid and I'm not to sure what you mean by automatic since ac 1-rogue pretty much had very linear lines of parkour
@@nato4535 since AC3 the series has moved onto automatic parkour. Removing features like manual jump, grabbing, wall ejects etc. The fact that there's no nore parkour puzzles like the Tombs from AC2 shows that Parkour has been dumbed down. In the first 4 games if I wanted to run forward and jump from a ledge it would let me. You had full 100% control in the parkour. Now the game will force you to stop cus it doesn't think you can jump a 1 foot gap.
My only disappointment was the removal of chain kill skill that was in black flag where if you counter killed one opponent you could chain it to a nearby foe and I feel the resources that were used on multiplayer could have gone towards the story. Otherwise didnt mind ACU.
Hey could you help me with a assassin's Creed unity problem im having. I play on Xbox one. And I don't know how to upgrade my weapons. Im in the start of sequence 2 and there are missions that say I need to upgrade skills, weapons, and armor. How do I do that.
Edward is probably my favorite AC character. I'm probably biased because he's a pirate and I love that whole era of piracy, but his motivations being more complicated is great.
Xd I agree with you man when he said arno best character he lost me but still watched the entire video btw if your interested in revisiting Edwards story I made a video of his arc 😉
@@akatsukino660 It's just an opinion man, he liked the character mainly cause he felt human and he wasn't that special, also I respect your opinion, Edward is somewhat relateable.
Will never get over how beautiful this game is. Every detail is perfection and I remember running around Paris simply sight-seeing and enjoying the views.
“Refreshing to see a main character who’s kind of a delinquent.” Don’t get me wrong, I like this video and I like Unity, but the character in the last game was a pirate who also wasn’t special and made huge mistakes. I get the comparison to Ezio but after Desmond kicked the bucket Ubisoft went down the path of characters who made mistakes/weren’t perfect etc until Origins when they decided to double down on the Isu part of the story and then Odyssey who’s main character went down a similar path as Ezio in terms of destiny and whatnot
Danijel Prosenik I cant believe I forgot about that 😅 also that further reinforced the Assassins making huge mistakes although I know we’re talking about protagonists here.
Arno's big thing for me is that his conflict was similar to Altair's, hell they're pretty similar now that I think about it. They both feel sympathy for their targets, but unlike Altair's targets who believed they were doing good, Arno's targets saw themselves as a pawn for the greater good. The Templars and the assassins became two sides of a war as time went onward, unlike the first couple games where they were just good guy and bad guy. Arno's character intrigued me because he had a deep emotional connection to a templar. Not just a romantic one, but a very deep and personal one. Arno was always doubting himself, going crazy while doing so. Only in the end he fully understands the assassin code.
The thing that pisses me off was back when this was released, and the articles, journalists, and random internet person always referred to the same video and the same image of the missing face bug. Whenever anyone references the bugs in the game, I see that same picture. This says to me that one person found it early on, happened to be recording, uploaded it, and everyone ate it up. Imagine if that famous Red Dead Redemption glitch video of the Mountain Lion model-swapped with the woman happened, and then everyone decided to shit on the game for being full of bugs. Frankly, it was full of bugs, but also really fondly remembered.
I think that bug, and most of the ones people dealt with were prevalent on day one. This was the first AC game that I purchased on steam (having purchased a disc for the PS3/PS4 for all the previous games) I do remember the download taking a while because it was a 40 to 50 GB download. The game did allow you to play it before it finished downloading, which was where I encountered any of the bugs I've ever encountered in this game. I ended up setting the game aside for a week or something like that, and never saw another bug. It honestly drives me nuts, how many people say they don't like this game because they believe it's riddle with bugs. Meanwhile, they never gave it the time of day.
Look I like this game but it absolutely deserved to be shit on in the state it was intially released in. And Red Dead Redemption for all its minor bugs was still fully playable. Unity, for some, wasn't
@@kevinhoover6056 I guess you got lucky? I thought the game was shit because of the combat, but when I played it the combat wasn't that bad, also yeah I never found any bug of shorts, so I guess we both got lucky.

Arno's just one of those characters that really deserves a sequel. Edit: Just to be clear to some people still replying to this. I didn't say the other characters don't deserve sequels too. I said Arno is ONE of the characters that could deserve a sequel. The video is about unity so I mentioned Arno naturally. The other characters are great too. We all love Bayek and Connor etc.
I mean.... i really like the game it is my 2nd favourite ac creed game but i liked it because of the coop ,the customizable armor , the heist missions and the story. Arno was a good protagonist but not one deserving of a sequel considering bayek didn't get one either. Plus ubisoft already changed the mechanics to these new shitty warrior mechanics

Agreed. Arno's story just doesn't feel complete. From what I've heard, he spent more time helping Napoleon in some way and I'm curious about that. A lot happened surrounding Napoleon and it doesn't sound unlikely that Arno could have been involved on more than one occasion.
I don't get why that's so bad... I for one can say I make stupid decisions in certain moments where, in retrospect, I could've done it a much smarter and logical way. Idk, kinda adds to his relatability to me. And made for a sick mission

Ezio's journey led him to his greatest love interest, Sofia. It's when he finally matured and grew out of that arrogance behavior that he once had when he was young.Won't knock on Arno, he's a great character but this video kinda just paints Ezio as if he's a one dimension "redeemed hero" archetype that did not have as much growth as Arno.
Ezio also had 3 games to grow as a character. Arno had 1. I believe the point you’re referencing is where Aqua was talking about Ezio’s revenge arc from 2 as compared to Arno’s redemption arc. Aqua really was only talking about 2 in that instance, in which case I have to agree that Arno’s arc is better executed and more fleshed out (imo) than Ezio. But of course Ezio got a TON more development in the next two games, but I don’t think it’s fair to compare an arc in one game to an arc fleshed out through an entire trilogy.
@@oogadog3736 i think that i've had that, but at the end of the day; No one cares if a non-playable character vanishes, they're in the way in the streets.
It seems to me, there s a lot of hate towards AC games in general, even Odyssey, my personal favorite. I like unity and, as for the other AC titles, it wasnt perfect, still fun. However there s a huge gap between the reality and the trash many reviewers makes us to believe. Point #1 of extreme criticism: narrative: I am a picky reader and as such, there s no game with a good plot / lore, maybe I d exclude the witcher because there s some previous written storyline by an actual writer and I felt like the story and the world were already there,#2 repetetive gameplay - defenitly yes mostly in the first titles....I still have to play AC 3, but black flag, gameplay wise, my second favorite, is it still repetitive?, yes, when you end up playing hundreds of ours of a certain game of course it becomes repetitive but what makes us love Ac games is that they are relatively easy games, (but not for hardcore gamers for sure), educational, transport us in time like no other game, the settings are wonderfull and they put a lot of historic research into it , and #3 not fun....sorry but Red Dead redemption is triple A, super good looking, but I havent had any fun with it and I end up reselling it because it doesnt match my playstyle , the main reason? Too realistic.... At the end, in terms of pure game mechanics developing, Ac games are not a triple A, but still far from being trash. Most hate comes from the huge sucess of the Ac series, it happens all the time everywhere with everything in life... at the end of the day, we who love AC creed wont listen and I bet we will pick these games just to walk around and appreciate the sandboxes they created...it happens to me a lot of time at least :D
Unity always makes me the most sad because, more than any other game in the franchise, it had so much potential that wasn’t quite reached. Ubisoft obviously didn’t give themselves enough time to put out a polished game upon release and that just hurt their image even more. In terms of STORY, it wasn’t fully fleshed out and I felt it sort of wasted its intriguing setting. The Revolution was pushed aside a lot when including more aspects of it could have been more engaging. And they really didn’t make the most of the templar vs assassin conflict. Here you have a romance that could do so much to blur the lines between the enemies. Balec showed the ugly side of an assassin so consumed with the ancient conflict, EXPAND ON THAT. The Paris brotherhood were perfect to add a touch of grey to the supposed good guys. Show the Templars as more than evilly twirling their moustaches, they believe in control over freedom but this doesn’t make them inherently malicious. Why would the Templars be inciting the revolution further when they preach order over chaos? What if at first Robespierre was with the assassins, preaching for freedom from the monarchy, but then went too far to the point of tyranny. Demonstrate the issues with the assassin’s doctrine of freedom. COMPLICATE THE DICHOTOMY BETWEEN THE ORDERS BECAUSE HISTORY IS NEVER THAT SIMPLE. Make both Elise and Arno question their allegiances and ideologies. Make the player do same. The foundation was there but they tragically never delved deeper.
@@ahmadnajwan1846 I have not, you recommend? But I meant sad as in "how upsetting that it can never reach its full potential" not "wow unity's story is so sad"
I love Unity bugginess and all on launch. Buy you nailed here. They had the plot points and story set up perfectly but it felt rushed or short. Its easily my favorite setting and character. While people may have loved black flag for the pirate aspect it was just that, a pirate game with the Assassin stuff thrown in at the end it felt like. Unity was a major change and it felt alive. The city ebbed and flowed at times and could make getting around on the street hard. Having spent some time in Paris years ago i loved getting see to the buildings and shops and talking with friends about what the shop was in 2005/06. The elise arno romance was well done but left you wanting more. It provided that gray area for both the Order and Brotherhood where individual ideals were warping the tenants of each. First playthru it really felt like a possible crossing over point for some memebers of both sides when they realize the other side is more right for them. Arno’s rise then fall and reacceptance into the brotherhood felt more like an actualy person who gets fried from their dream job and has to pull themselves thru the depression and despair to get back to where they want to be. Overall i just wanted more story from it and wish one day to get that
Matt Bryan Matt Bryan For sure, they were definitely on to something with Unity and it’s sad to see that Ubisoft just completely scrapped it instead of taking the time to improve upon the foundations they had now laid out (those bustling streets were definitely a highlight). I feel like the ideas surrounding Unity have pretty much been abandoned which is pretty disappointing. On the subject of Black flag: Though you’re right that the Assassin lore was a bit tacked on, Edward Kenway still had an amazing character arc which really elevated the game in my opinion. His story worked great with the idea of freedom and free will but also ultimately finding a balance where he took on more responsibility and came to realize the damage caused by his recklessness. When you look at it from that perspective, he still fits into the creed (at least thematically). But Unity and Arno definitely made the effort to form a better direct connection to the brotherhood and truthfully explore the nature of both the assassins and the Templars. *Sigh* it could have been fantastic.
Giovanna Acosta thats the thing i feel the worst about it that they had a chance to explore both templar and assassin ideals in a revolutionary era. With Rogue they set up the assassin to templar theme and sorta carried it over with Ballec in Unity. While im not exactly wishing Elise would have flipped sides i think she had the potential to do so. Her character was well done albeit a horrible ending i feel. Arno was setting up to clean house and reset the French order back to what it should be. It would have been a completely different dynamic for the series. It just had so much potential and got left aside
I think this game has one of the best characters in the series like Arno's master and the beggar king but this is definitely not the best story. It's actually a copy and paste of AC2. Ezio and Arno look very similar and even their story is similar as well. The protagonist looses their father and father like uncle by Templars. They then go for revenge mission. Then they watch their lover die infront of them. But still the game still had quite look enjoyable missions through.
that was the old ubisoft, todays ubisoft is all about the division but in a different skin. because lets be honest. ac odyssee is NOT an assassins creed game. it is a good game, but it is defenity not AC. also it isnt about story telling anymore like it was in previous ac gaames, now its just about here grind your ass off to do this mission, now grind some more to do that other mission. well now i am a fucking god with superhuman powers OKAY. like do they even know what they made LOL
Is at the same level as Ezio. I love Arno because he felt the most human of all the assassins, always questioning the action of the Assassins brotherhood in Paris, the romance in the game, his actions and not following the rule of kill all the templars cuz they bad.
Given that this was actually the first Assassin's Creed game I bought I love it. I really couldn't even see what was wrong with it. I actually really love the game
I was one of those people that completely wrote off Unity when it came out because I heard it was a buggy mess. I did see the infamous face glitch and some weird clipping issues and just thought the game was trash. I didn't give the game a chance and just ignored it for years. Even when the game was given away for free after the Notre Dame fires, I still wrote it off. But, seeing the passion you have for Unity and how the game is probably the peak of the franchise (before it took a very strange direction) really has piqued my interest in it. I'll give it a shot when I have the chance. This was a good video!
THE_12TH_ KID I’ve already beat it lol well, I haven’t done the dlc yet but the main story I’m done with. I basically agree with everything said in this video, I really like the characters and stories and I really like the assassination missions. Yea, there’s still weird npc pop in and frame drops but they weren’t really bad enough to take away enjoyment for me. $2 is definitely a steal for the fun that is to be found in Unity.
Yes, they were so so wrong, this game is unique, is beautiful, is fantastic, innovator.... I would really really really like a sequel of this game, or a same assassin's creed where you can do co op missions, explore the world with other assassin's from the brotherhood, and most importantly, parkour with them....gosh I'd give everything for ubisoft to do this again, to go back to these type of games that reflected all the effort, uniqueness and beautifulness....
I was just thinking about that. Imagine a “sequel” that was set at the empire of Napoleon III, in the second half of the 19th century. Paris had already been through a series of renovations by then (the Haussmann’s renovations), so it would feel like a COMPLETELY different environment. A completely new map, but still the same city.
I literally finished playing this for the first time a few days ago, and I loved this story. I also really loved Arno. I don't know why, he's just such a great guy.
People only hate this game because of the weird looking glitches. It wasn’t even that bad! Tbh all they need to make the series great again is to have Unity parkour mechanics and have online from the older games back.
The story could be completed in like 5 hours and the DLC's story is like an hour max. Such a lack of content for that game. They tried to replace actual content with running to every house and opening a chest for a few shekels. Was not the worst AC ive played but was not nearly the best.
They still use Unity's parkour mechanics and to be honest I'm not sure I want to play in another endless city of concrete boxes unless they emphasize making the general game world more interesting.
One thing I don’t see a lot of people mention is the design of the side outfits. Every legacy outfit looks stunning, I swear, this game makes every outfit look even better than in their own games.
@@Benophobia Those too things are completely separate. When I heard compare AC 2 parkour to Unity, the eight game in the series, I felt like laughing. Super JLK The leap of faith in odyssey has no meaning it’s just a way for quick traversal and not mentioned has anything other than that. Darius doesn’t act like an assassin he wants to stay hidden so saying in the shadows is an effective way to stay out of the orders sights he wears a hood for the same reason because it’s low profile same with the rest of his out. Ayas first civ would have been become weaker because of the mixing of blood between her parents and other family the. The hidden blade making its way to cleopatra is a mystery that can be explained in the future but I’m guessing he protected elpidios until his death until he either passed it on to him or became friends with higher ups who didn’t agree with the order like cleopatras family and it was stated in odyssey that the spear contained both dna of two similar people and siblings would be very similar in terms of dna so the animus used that dna but found two paths to follow so it simulated two people not knowing which was the true one
Super JLK also aya was never in direct contact with a first civ artifact and even kassandra had to actually touch an artifact to make it work such as the spear so maybe if aya has actually touched a artifact maybe it would have done something but her Isu dna would definitely be distorted
Super JLK but Desmond not only was in contact with isu artifacts himself but he also relieved the lives of people like Altair and ezio who also were and Desmond also got more dna through the bleeding affect so he had a lot of isu dna compared to aya
na, i just didnt like, they could had done better with such a moment as the french revolution, and the ending was pretty dumb. i also hated the "store" part of it, like whats even the point of letting you buy endgame gear on a single player game.
What I loved most about this game was that the character looked leaner than in all the other games. Arno looked leaner and more agile than all the other (male) Assassins. And I think that look is more fitting to an Assassin. You look more agile, more deadly but also more vulnerable. Also his robes and general gear looked amazing and better than the following games. I also loved the athomsphere and the map of this game. The feel of the revolution was carried out greatly and Paris itself contributed a great share to it. I think this was the best map for an Assassin's Creed. It only featured one city but this city was huge. There was a lot to explore both horizontally and vertically. London from AC Syndicate was also a cool city but the whole city and graphics felt to grey-ish to me. I prefer Paris for that reason. Last but not least I also liked the colors of this game. I believe Unity featured the best color set in the series. It outclassed all the ACs before concerning graphics and color setting. Syndicate had the same colors but looked too grey-ish in my opinion. Origin just didn't have enough environmental and color variety to satisfy me, it felt like the main color of that game was sand. Odyssey is coming the closest and boy it was beautiful but for me it was a little too colorful, the color set was too much based on "nature colors". I just prefer the style of Unity in that aspect. I'm interested in what all of you got to say about my ideas. I would love to hear your opinions
Totally agree, the map in syndicate was cool but in some places lacked originality. Nothing gripped you or interested you when you were running through it but unity has a completely different feel, each building feels as though it was designed separately from others and are unique and interesting
Also have the best outfits in general imo. My favorite is the raider outfit because it makes sense to me that you can blend in the crowd with it, you're just a poor schmuck to people's eyes with your dirty shirt and whatnot.
After taking a break from the series I picked this up and thought it was the best one I’ve played. The only problem was that I couldn’t fight with my assassin blades like the older ones
Yes Ezio is beloved and almost everyone agrees that he's fun and engaging and overall enjoyable. And that's one definition for a great character. But he is still lacking a lot of depth, which was only fixed by assassins creed embers. Arno while not being as fun or enjoyable, actually had a lot of depth to his character. The writers portrayed him being torn between his love for Elise and her heritage as templar and his heritage as an assassin really good. While Ezio is one of the coolest video game characters, Arno seemed much more human to me. Although that character arc wise, Edward and his redemption take the cake in this regard.
@@MrXoohoo ezio also has a lot of depth tho. All ezio has ever wanted was to lead a confortable life surrounded by loved ones which we see even in ac2. However what's even greater is ezio's ambition as he constantly sacrifices his dreams and confortable life to fulfill his goals. He even almost gave up at the start of ac brotherhood but the life he chose didn't let him go that easily. He may be confident and charismatic on the outside but all he wants is to settle down and have a fulfilling life but he we always see him sacrifice that dream for his ambitions. he's always driven by his ambitions of revenge, finding out the truth about the artifacts and his own heritage. At the end in embers, we see him evaluating with him accepting the limits of his ambition. My only issue with arno is that his personality is pretty uninteresting, like he's not as charasmatic as ezio or Edward and that's the only character trait he has making some of the interactions a little stale and boring. His interactions with elise are pretty cool but that's because they're flirting most the time and that's when his charisma rly shines. Other than that he doesn't have any other note worthy character traits.
Well just play it 6 months after the release. They polished it and fixed all the bugs pretty quickly after release. You might need a good PC to play it but that's okay.
@@Jacobzx True, but I wish they spent a bit more time on polishing the story and character development. Those things, while decent in the game, could have been so much better imo

Woodsy haha 🤣, don’t be hurt bro your game just sucks ass. AC has always been mediocre bar AC2, Brotherhood and AC4. This game was shit💀. Odyssey acc going somewhere with AC now, Unity is boring af
I cannot disagree harder on the parkour. The older games prioritized your control over everything else. Unity has better animations, but it comes at the cost of having to learn hidden mechanics the game never tells you about, having controls that the game tells you incorrectly, and the game just refusing to work occasionally
I love almost everything about the game, it is a perfect blend between the easy combat of earlier games and the rpg like combat of origins and odyssey. The climbing is amazing. But the glitches are abundant and can’t be ignored from randomly spawning people, unkillable enemies and soooo much more. But it wasn’t as bad when playing with the boys.
Yeah I mean as someone who only played through the game a few weeks ago- didn’t encounter a single glitch and had a great time. I’m aware I may be in the minority but I still thought it was a solid game for sure.
Gabi G yeah that’s true I never really used it much more effective to just crouch behind it rather than actually cover. I more meant the ideas of the game. But it’s so clunky and unoptimised.
So I just finished the main story last night and I've never played an Assassin's game until this game. The story was okay and only carried by Arno and Elise but overall I liked the game a lot and the mechanics were fun. Playing this on the Series X at 60fps was super smooth and made the world so much more interesting and fun to explore. It's definitely not as bad as others have said and I feel like people should give it a second chance. I will definitely continue playing the side quests and I have yet to try coop. This and Watch Dogs 1 (which i also love) gave me the same feeling of immersion with the world design. Very underrated games at a time when ubisoft was trying new things and fell short of perfection.
Unity is the most refined version on of the old Assassin's Creed formula and it's a shame that it never got the credit it deserved. Fun fact when Maximilien Robespierre was taken to his execution the executioner ripped off the bandages covering his gunshot wound and his jaw came off with the bandages.
Indeed. OG fans were yearning for a return to AC1 principles in the sense of having to prepare your elimination, strategizing, multiple paths... And Unity's black boxes system was an honest attempt at that. Too bad the receipt of the game deterred Ubisoft to pursue on this path. I know a lot of people like it but the action-rpg style of Origins and others doesn't fit AC to me.
@@FuckdasketsHOPassass I agree, that's why I believe they should have built on it as a base instead of throwing the baby with the bath water and going the rpg route.
Arno was bad. The story was bad. Bugs can be (and were) fixed, but there were deeper issues to this game than weird faces. It’s ok to like this game, just don’t fucking tell me that it has the best story or character of this or ANY generation. Especially after Assassins Creed Origins.
Andy W first of all I also agreed ac unity in my opinnion is not the best one,for me is black flag, but there’s nothing wrong with someone having unity as their favorite, and they have so much more reason and moral than you have saying origins is the best one when that shit isn’t even an assasing game it’s a fucking rpg game, they shouldn’t have dome that to the series, this isn’t anymore a story about templars against assasins it’s a historical action game, that pisses me off.

Ezio had 2 true love interests in his trilogy, Christina and Sofia who he married. Edward had his wife who we never saw, but he was writing to her and wanted to get her back, but she died.
Holy shit, the cloth physics dude.. If Arno crouches you can see how the coat tails mold over whatever they land on, it's pretty great. I also like feeling like a soldier for the brotherhood, it's simple and easy to experience.
Richard Pasquali it surprises me because unity was so overhyped but now looking back at it?. It sorta deserves that amount of hype that world is gorgeous and the fucking parkouring is UNFORGETTABLE

@@goes2four82 I honestly didn't find Brotherhood's story nearly as interesting as AC2's. AC2 was a tragic coming-of-age story involving a quest for revenge and it was full of characters that had mysterious intentions until the end. Brotherhood felt very rushed imo but still very fun and a worthy sequel.
@@dr.yonkers5181 Nah Brotherhood's didn't feel that rushed to me lol. It was a perfect sequel to 2 and imo 2 was the game with a bunch of filler parts, like the thief missions in Venice and those terrible DLC sequences, that made the game more drawn out than it had to be. Brotherhood didn't really have that and so the pacing felt better(to me tho😃)
You know you can descend in the old games really fast by dropping and grabbing onto a ledge manually. That made parkour a lot more risky than what would happen in unity. In unity it’s basically just playing itself. It’s one of the things the game doesn’t explicitly say but makes it much better to descend. A tower could be descended in like 5 secs with this. I’m surprised more people don’t know about this
I remember talking to a friend of mine at school about how great this game was a week after launch, I had already finished about 50% of the game and really wanted friends to get it for the coop missions. Then some random student walks up and tells me I was an idiot for buying it because it was horrible. I later find out this guy had never played it or seen any gameplay, just heard it was full of bugs.
This game could’ve been one of the best games ever the only thing it lacked in my view was the story and the MC otherwise the interaction points for each assassination the phantom blade the sneak everything was on point I know I will get a lot of hate for what I will type next but in comparison of mechanics this game really did surpass any previous assassins creed games
Wauney I didn’t like the combat but I can live with it the story was meh but even if the story is lacking it can be carried by how greats the protagonist is in unity’s case Arno was well just very VERY lacking
I remember a couple years ago telling a few friends of mine that i really enjoyed being an assassin in unity finding different and unique ways to kill targets. Yet they laughed at me and spoke of black flag being the superior AC. I enjoyed black flag don't get me wrong! but i never knew why so many people hated unity! Especially when their newest game at the time was Origins which i just didn't enjoy at all (personal opinion) Great Video!
Syndicate expanded on this unique kill opportunities some more. I loved Black Flag, but Unity is class of greatness all on its own in my opinion. The story and the characters are genuis and I loved it for everything that it was in 2014.

Exactly they were talking about how the parkour in the game was a big difference between ac 2 and ac unity but they completely skips the progress they made in the games before unity
The parkour and the combat from 2 all the way to Rogue hasn't changed much. It really doesn't matter if he compares them to AC2 or AC:Rogue as it's all basically the same. The engine, Anvil, didn't get it's largest update until AC:Unity. AnvilNext was an upgrade but it didn't upgrade in much of animations, and features. AC2 was a solid game, and it's fair to compare it to it.
@@TheInnerWorlds parkour and combat changed quite a bit, parkour was far less automatic and much slower, and if you can't see the difference between the combat from black flag and II then I don't even know
I still love the game, I just wish Ubisoft had delayed the game by a few months to polish it and give players a chance to experience Rogue instead of making players have to choose which to play first.
it was completely jank on release. to the point some people couldnt even play. from mechanics not working, to game breaking bugs. it was skyrim + fallout 76 levels of unplayable to ALOT of people. of course, not EVERYONE suffered that. the same way not everyone faced the debacle that was arkham knight.
@Eriko. Oy Remember that memory sequence where Francois De La Serre got killed and Arno was framed for it? There was a talk about Shay between the Templars in the mansion. But unfortunately, they preferred to not to speak his name directly. That's it. It's the only clue of his whereabout. Ubisoft could've fixed the plot by adding Shay in Germain's flashback. From there, Arno could look for clues until he tracked the templars who talked about that man in the mansion before. Then eventually, find The man himself. They shouldn't have released Dead Kings DLC. Instead, they could've just released a DLC to finish the story of Arno and French Revolution.
Unity is my favorite Assassin’s Creed game after Black Flag! It still looks great by today’s standards and it has so many cool moments like that sequence where you’re escaping the tower after you set it on fire, climbing up higher and higher as you’re trying to escape the flames, it was so cool
Unity is a brilliant game. I finished it like 3 times. Absolutely loved it. It has the best stealh and parkour in the franchise imo. Probably my second favourite AC game of all time. First being AC3
Logged in just to give you a like. I almost completely agree. ACU and Origins are my favorite AC games and are the ones that I still touch till this day. Simply put, Connor, Edward, Jacob Evie, Bayek, hell even Ezio, they are awesome fighters. But Arno Dorian, HE IS AN ASSASSIN. I haven't felt like playing an assassins since Altair. ACU makes you feel vulnerable, push you to think of different strategies to stay stealthy by clever use of the tools that you have. Bc you know the moment you run into open ground when 5 guns are aiming at you chances are you are a deadman. It was the most satisfying experience I had in a AC game (maybe Im biased bc I love stealth games? LOL). I'll add to your point about the gorgeous map by saying ACU has the most beautiful interiors ever in the entire franchise and that just add a complete whole new dimension to the map; people dont realize that with all the interiors accounted for Paris is HUGE. And it is the most believable world UBISOFT has ever created, the NPC feels like living breathing human beings with their own agendas; I would constantly stop just to see what people are doing, it feels so dynamic and fascinating. Free running over the rooftops of Paris, I seriously can't find a better experience in all the games that I've played. The negatives for me is the story, it was easily forgettable and a bit dull. TBH I find the Paris stories more fascinating than the main quests. Also...the characters are just too....British...not just accents, but their manners...and tbh it breaks the immersion at times, like I will totally believe you if you tell me these ppl are British and this story took place in London if I know nothing about the game. Another thing is that I loved the Paris brotherhood, best after AC1...but...I just dont see them a lot on the street. It feels like I'm the only field agent and ALL the others were just clerks behind desks lol.
I completely agree with you! Damn man when I saw the interior visuals from youtube videos I was completely sold. And you can't get any truer about the living NPCs, like they actually had their own agendas and we're not falling into the uncanny valley. The only downside was the main story line, it's literally a love story. Needless to say the rooftop parkour was insanely fluid too. This game was actually what got me buying a (preloved) PS4 in the first place nonetheless. I am so sad to see the way AC is now heading. It's a bye bye for the stealth and one-shot assassination with your hidden blade.
My primary issue is that the parkour feels like it has almost too much freedom, so my character keeps running everywhere except the objective. Not to mention that whenever I want to cover, I end up taking cover that's within the enemy's sights
About Ezio vs Arno: -Ezio wasn't really the chosen one, Desmond was, Ezio was just a vessel to get a message to Desmond, which is sad in a way. -Ezio also was a shit talker when he was young, but has he aged through the games we see him becoming more wise and leaving some of his childish remarks behind. -Ezio story had love in it, but it wasn't the focus point for most of it. It was like he could never settle because he, and his family, had enemies, and he was tied to always be fighting the Templars. -Ezio main flaw is being stubborn, when he was young he rarely listened to anyone and was really just out for vengeance, that is why he killed Uberto, but spared Rodrigo, it is because he grew up in the time that has passed, going from 17 to 30 -I would also say Ezio does ponder on the creed of the assassins and their philosophy in the third game. Not only that, Ezio reflects on his past and tries to find answers for others in the future, in a way acknowledging being trapped by his own fate, and accepting it In the end I think Arno has many character similarities in Ezio, hell they even look similar, and most of what I said was just to defend my boy Ezio.
I don’t think it’s fair to compare Ezio to anyone because Arno has a single game that spans 3~4 years while only in AC2 we experience over a decade of Ezio’s life. He has had much more room for development then anyone else
I love this game it’s so underrated and possibly my fav AC game, the one major flaw for me was all the chars having non French accents, it’s just a bit jarring
@Im mega tosci they had french accents for characters before like De Sable and Lafayette and nobody had problems understanding them. It's just a stupid decision by Ubisoft. They also wasted the setting too
not gonna lie i reckon if Ezio’s story had unity’s parkour system and graphics it would be the best assassins creed in the trilogy. the most beloved character and story, with a fluid and fun parkour system and a beautiful world and more open world activities.
Even though Ezio is my all time favorite AC character and Revelations will always be my favorite AC game and story, the cinematic still gives me chills to this day. But the customization, parkour, combat, stealth of this game will always be on another level in my opinion. I can’t see this game being topped anytime soon. Hopefully Valhalla will and be amazing but we’ll have to see..
Unity’s graphics are still insane and there are walkable interiors and the riots it just felt cool
The game looks beautiful especially in the daylight and there is a lot to do(missions, collectibles, etc). And not to forget the customization.after all this time I still play this game.

Not to mention amount of people on street. I mean crowds were huge. Also unfortunately last time we get to use hiding in crowds.
I almost wish there was no riots or mass gathering the scale of unity cause that causes 90% of the frame rate imo
Fun fact: for unity they hired parkour artists Jessie Laflair to do all the climbing animations

@@65firered yes I understand. But it was already too late for the developers since there was a hate bandwagon around the game.
Well said.
It would’ve way better if was centered around the French Revolution like AC 3 with the American revolution
They definitely could've done a lot more with it, and it would have been cool, but I felt like wasn't a huge let-down.
well the games will always be between assassins and templar since I'm not into history i had no issue with this story. it actually tells you how the world of assassins and templar revolves around different things that don't bother with the normal world events.
I have a feeling theyll make a seccond one in the far future where we can have a hand in the revolution. Heres to hoping anyway, its the only way Ubi will win me back into the AC universe

And one other character also betrayed the brotherhood

This. Ezio is the best protagonist in the franchise, Arno is great but not the best.
I think you messed uo the names in the end
Ezio also had 3 games to grow as a character. Arno had 1. I believe the point you’re referencing is where Aqua was talking about Ezio’s revenge arc from 2 as compared to Arno’s redemption arc. Aqua really was only talking about 2 in that instance, in which case I have to agree that Arno’s arc is better executed and more fleshed out (imo) than Ezio. But of course Ezio got a TON more development in the next two games, but I don’t think it’s fair to compare an arc in one game to an arc fleshed out through an entire trilogy.

No, it was not. Ubisoft made a shit game and It was easily, without a doubt, the WORST video game I’ve ever played on my 24 years of being alive
Jordan Justus please do explain why you think so
Unity always makes me the most sad because, more than any other game in the franchise, it had so much potential that wasn’t quite reached.
The foundation was there but they tragically never delved deeper.
sad? havent heard of yoko taro?

Super JLK doesn’t follow the lore give me one time it doesn’t follow the lore
*hidden blades and you get used the combat after you get the heavy attack skill and staggering strike skill.

Yh and best story too is just wrong with the existance of ezio 😂
damn straight. Arno is an Ezzio-wanabe in a botched, tired lovestory. absolute garbage in these aspects.
It's really not even a stretch, it's plain wrong.
Imagine unity having 6 more months to finish the game. It would be perfect
What can make a game more perfect?
Well just play it 6 months after the release. They polished it and fixed all the bugs pretty quickly after release. You might need a good PC to play it but that's okay.
@@Jacobzx True, but I wish they spent a bit more time on polishing the story and character development. Those things, while decent in the game, could have been so much better imo

I cannot disagree harder on the parkour. The older games prioritized your control over everything else. Unity has better animations, but it comes at the cost of having to learn hidden mechanics the game never tells you about, having controls that the game tells you incorrectly, and the game just refusing to work occasionally
AC2s parkour isn’t very sharp
@@marbl3d45 disagree ua-cam.com/video/nuTLxOrVO0s/v-deo.html
Pre-AC3's parkour sucked.
But after the 3 Patches it was an absolutely perfect masterpiece!
Yeah I mean as someone who only played through the game a few weeks ago- didn’t encounter a single glitch and had a great time. I’m aware I may be in the minority but I still thought it was a solid game for sure.
Don't forget the unusable cover system. I became stuck thousands of times than I stopped trying.

I could have gone my whole life without knowing that thing about Robespierre, yet here we are
Maybe in terms of gameplays mechanics, but story wise and under-utilised setting that had such potential ruins it
@@FuckdasketsHOPassass I agree, that's why I believe they should have built on it as a base instead of throwing the baby with the bath water and going the rpg route.

Andy W origins is a good game but a bad assassin’s creed the same with odessy and probably with valhalla

@@dr.yonkers5181 Nah Brotherhood's didn't feel that rushed to me lol. Ezio is the best and has the best story period
Exactly they were talking about how the parkour in the game was a big difference between ac 2 and ac unity but they completely skips the progress they made in the games before unity
If there really gonna be like that how bout we compare ac odyssey to unity bit unfair right? Exactly

It's incomplete. Arno's father death is still remain unavenged.

I would recommend playing the game with French dub and subtitles. It just adds another layer of realism to the game and its awesome.
Agreed
Origins is trash. Tries to copy witcher 3, fails badly, tho, unity is great.
@@nunolima8881 I'm going to try this
I completely agree with you!

About Ezio vs Arno:
-Ezio wasn't really the chosen one, Desmond was, Ezio was just a vessel to get a message to Desmond, which is sad in a way.
-Ezio main flaw is being stubborn, when he was young he rarely listened to anyone and was really just out for vengeance, that is why he killed Uberto, but spared Rodrigo, it is because he grew up in the time that has passed, going from 17 to 30
-I would also say Ezio does ponder on the creed of the assassins and their philosophy in the third game. Not only that, Ezio reflects on his past and tries to find answers for others in the future, in a way acknowledging being trapped by his own fate, and accepting it
In the end I think Arno has many character similarities in Ezio, hell they even look similar, and most of what I said was just to defend my boy Ezio.
THANK YOU. This is exactly what I thought, when he talked about Ezio.
I don’t think it’s fair to compare Ezio to anyone because Arno has a single game that spans 3~4 years while only in AC2 we experience over a decade of Ezio’s life. He has had much more room for development then anyone else
