A fun fact about Unity; the in-game model of Norte Dame was used as a guide in the efforts to reconstruct the real Norte Dame after the fire. It comes full circle
That's actually false and actually quite dumb when you look at it Ubisoft donated money but was never asked to help with the Notre Dame and why would they be? For an important structure like the Notre Dame, they would have every single detail in documents, pictures, videos and models that are infinitely more accurate than Ubisoft's which was made with parkour in mind
This actually isn't true after doing a bit of research. They said that they'd provide the model if asked, but never were as far as we know. And the developers have openly said that many changes were made to the cathedral for gameplay and copyright reasons. They did however donate a lot of money to help rebuild it and made Assassin's Creed Unity free on Steam for a week.

Assassins Creed Origins The Setting of Ptolemaic Egypt is superb, the entire region is filled with immense beauty, the setting pulls you in and saturates your brain in another time,in another world. The setting is so beautiful that you wish not to ride atop your cherished camel ,instead you constantly want to walk the sand covered streets, the agricultural fields of the Bread Basket,in the blissfully idyllic oasis and in the spectacular landscapes of the Egyptian desert. The wildlife is accurate, engaging and adds an adventurous aspect to the game, like wrestling a Nile crocodile or running away from a charging hippopotamus, it feels so natural and makes you love Egypt even more. You have a pet falcon that aids in scouting and in combat, the perfect friend a man can ask for. I love my little Horis. The weapons, the outfits/armours are numerous and stupendous. The combat is fun and engaging with a clear progression arch, making you feel stronger only when you work on improving your combat. The characters are most engaging, Baek is a brilliant protagonist, a Madjey returning home after a long expedition ,finding his home under occupation and tracking down those in power with ill repute and working on creating a regime change.
You can disable the idiotic damage numbers which greatly increases immersion. You can read scattered papyri that tells you so much of this fabled land,of its peoples and its culture, then you get to delve into ancient (even for that time) crypts ,exploring the ancient tombs of Pharaohs a milenia older than Cleopatra herself, that leaves you itching with excitement to see what adventurous treasures lies around the next corner. This game is a piece of art, bringing the past to life. It is spectacular and I love it.

Black Flag, Odyssey and Origins also embrace underwater, Black Flag through the diving missions and some of the hidden bases, and the other two simply as part of the exploration. All three have swimming predators to avoid or combat, and the feeling of exploring a shipwreck or finding the TARDIS at the bottom of the Nile is a joy. Also on Odyssey, the three new areas for The Fate of Atlantis DLC, the Fields of Elysium, the Underworld and Atlantis itself, aren’t based on real world or real history locations but are a lot of fun to explore. The fields and Atlantis are beautiful, and the Underworld is too in a grim way. Atlantis is the first time we explore a thriving Isu population centre rather than just the ruin of an Isu site.

The point about muslim villains in AC1 doesn't make any sense. They weren’t villains because they were muslims, not to mention half of the villains were actually christian, then again they weren’t villains because of their religion.
Odessey is my favourite setting. Since I was a child I loved ancient Greece and its mythology (Age of Mythology anyone?) The characters the weapons the citys and the breathtaking nature are just so intriguing

Same! Like if origins wasn't an RPG, id be playing it at this moment but I just can't get with RPGs idk what it is. It's like the RPG elements take away from the immersion of it all but the settings are absolutely stunning. It has me conflicted all the time 😂
I loved the world of AC Odyssey, since I’m a fan of Greek culture and history, but they took a ton of liberties. It can also feel quite samey at times. I do agree with putting Origins number one, though. They did so much research that they predicted extra chambers in the Great Pyramid when that wasn’t commonly accepted at the time.
Oml same. I’ve gone through and best everything so far. Asides from AC1, origins and Odyssey. I just beat unity a couple of days ago and abt half way through syndicate. I’ve enjoyed all so far. Started a couple months back trying to beat all the AC games (story wise not 100%). Loved every second so far
you know what I thought was a nice touch to the desert area when you go in it you can start seeing Mirage and if you follow them for a while once’s you get there it’s just blows away
Another aspect about AC Black Flag that makes it stand out from the others is its cultural ambient music - songs like Verdiales and Bulería in the Spanish towns, and songs like "Star of the County Down" or "Patrick Spens" in English towns are so memorable and atmospheric, and I still frequently tune in to listen to them to this day. No other AC game has such memorable cultural ambient music in the setting, and this is what makes Black Flag stand out.
rogue is near the top for me, i think the time period and the location is very unique. The small villages and islands in the North Atlantic are so interesting to me, thinking about the daily lives of the population, and how they might survive in such a harsh environment. Sailing through the frozen ocean is so atmospheric, especially at night. Combining this with a time period I don't know much about made for a very intriguing experience, and I appreciate the game for making me interested in it.
@@TheHiddenOne690I think an important point is that Muslims weren't portrayed as villains. The religion of the villains didn't play into why they were villains. There were English and one French villain on the side of Christianity. There was one who said he didn't believe, an atheist. And it wasn't clear whether some of them were villains at all.
Can’t say I agree with AC 1 having a specific focus on Muslim characters being the villains. The whole point of the story was to uncover the fact that the Templar brotherhood spanned across both Crusader and Saracen members alike.
Preach brother. And after all, the Muslims were the invading, oppressive force of the time. Luckily the invasive Umayyad Caliphate was ousted and replaced by the more cooperative Abbasid Caliphate.
Ancient egypt, Constantinopla and France are magical places for me, i can't believe those places and time periods are right there for me to explore, they hit differently, especially Constantinopla
I agree with your top 3. For me though they I could place Black Flag, Odyssey or Origins at number 1 depending on how I feel at the time. All 3 are amazing settings.
I agree with your list. AC Rogue is one of my fav game however the setting deserves to be in the last spot also, they reused many environmental assets from AC III & Black Flag. AC I while had a good setting Ubisoft was really taking notes from Activision on how to make cliche do the muslims dirty thing. Like you literally can climb on the buildings/mosques I don't want exactly they were meant to be but the wall were some words depicted for the God were written, Yeah you can now climb and put your shoes on that words. Great Job Ubisoft 👍 The time when AC Revelations took place the name was already changed to Istanbul, but Ubisoft still decided to go with the name Constantinople because... reasons.
I put this series down for a while after Brotherhood (which I loved) and then picked up Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla on sale. Finished Origins recently, and am probably 15ish% done with Odyssey. The settings for both are incredible, but I think I'm still partial to Origins because of how the character fits into it as well. Kassandra is alright as a protagonist with a lively personality, but Bayek is just awesome man. He has a similar noble-ish background like Ezio and carries a similar level but a completely different flavor of swagger and his voice actor is so fucking good. I didn't 100% it, but I completed a lot of side quests and explored a handful of tombs and found Isu recordings. I just loved this game so much. The Isu recordings of course felt out of place and the fact that Bayek just doesn't say anything to them is kind of jarring, but the lore idea that these pharoahs were either Isu or were in contact with them is such a juicy concept. And good god, the environmental detail is just insane, same with Odyssey.
Everyone has a different opinion for sure. Being Turkish from the Aegean cost I am super biased. I love Revelations and Odyssey. But storywise my favorites are AC2 and AC4 Black Flag.
Not my favorite period of Egyptian history but the great works of Old and Middle Kingdom surving to Ptolemaic dynasty is impressive in its own right. Origins is hands down the most beautiful setting and Bayek was my second favorite lead after Ezio, coming from a guy that didn’t touch an Assassins creed title after Black Flag until 2022 with Origins on gamepass that game deserves a revisit and those that did not play should do so immediately. Only minor gripes are enemy leveling for missions , can get stuck at parts waiting to level up.
That’s really tough. I just couldn’t decide which ones I liked the most. The only one I know for sure would be at the BOTTOM of my list every time would be AC1. That game desperately needs a remake to improve the world and basically everything else in it as well. I say that out of immense love for Altaïr’s story.
I'd put Syndicate number 1 settings wise that game blows me away with its settings, but I'd put Unity as 1 as that game's setting was still better that the RPG trio. Third was tied with Odyssey/Origins both have their own charm and even to this day I'm still fascinated with the historical landmarks given by both of these games
I may not agree with your ranking, but that's the nice thing about having different opinions. I have not yet played every game, so my ranking will surely change, I have played AC I, II, Brotherhood, Revelations, III, Rogue, IV, in this order. IV is the last one, because it would not work on my old pc, but Rogue somehow did. Now that I've acquired a much better machine, I did try Black Flag and although I was pretty hyped up to be finally able to play it, I have to say I could not finish it. I mean I know it is a good game and I like the setting + story, but after I played Rogue, the gameplay felt just too repetitive and I know that it should be the other way around, because Rogue is essentially Black flag II. So I have had much more fun with Rogue instead of Black flag and I honestly love the much more darker story it has. For me the ranking would be so far: 1. Rogue, 2. Revelations, 3. AC II, 4. Brotherhood, 5. Black flag, 6. AC I. That's not to say, any of the games were not enjoyable for me, every one of them had something to offer.
3:12 wise choice to refer it to the "holy land" to avoid controversy if a highly sensitive issue..I wonder when ubi would make a far cry game set in modern day....
Agree with Odyssey, I get it it may not be so related to Assassin's Creed base lore, but if you look at it from a normal perspective is nice game, for me, out of Origins/Odyssey and Valhalla, those RPG like ACs, Odyssey is the best.
I personally enjoyed Rogue. It was a bit of an underrated gem. For me the bottom of the list would be the first game. I am currently playing Origins, and I am enjoying it immensely.
Gotta agree with rogue’s ranking AC rogue is amazing story wise but setting wise it isn’t unique. It feels like AC3 and AC4, it being 1700s americas and all.
AC rogues cut development of Quebec city pretty much removed the most important part of the 7 years war/ french and Indians war. Would've been a pretty good end game areas since it's in enemy territory and in the middles of a siege.
I don’t think ac4 Black Flag deserves such a high spot. It’s beautiful but it’s mostly water and the islands are quite similar between jungles or more civilised areas, and the very similar forts. The gameplay is incredible and works well with the world, but as a setting it’s not nearly as impressive as syndicate or unity. Especially unity, that game world is just fantastic.
I differ on this. Unity being pretty much strictly urban was ultimately boring for me. AC4's setting was definitely streamlined and inaccessible in many spots, but the aesthetic was on point. But then I prefer a more vibrant, austere, adventurous setting with more overall variety to intricate cityscapes.
The setting of III does get a retouch in the Tyranny of King Washington DLC, changing the political nature and turning the familiar into something more sinister. The new ways to navigate help too, invisibility, increased strength attacks and flight changing how you move about to further demonstrate this isn’t the ACIII you know. A downside to ACIII is that not all the map is uncovered through lookout points being synchronised, you need to manually navigate Conner there. Navigating the underground corridors too can be tedious and doesn’t offer anything beyond map completion.
I never got that far into Valhalla. It felt like they didn't really do much research into England and instead created a fantasy based off map and names. I stopped playing after visiting Portchester Castle and saw it's nothing at all like the actual castle and is in the wrong place.
in my opinion amorges is one of the best villains, what the main game lacks in great villains is compensated by legacy of the first blade( the pactyas dying scene feels very much like the one of liam, amorges does too). my favorite villains are the persian order, the early colonial rite(monro, haytham and shay’s targets) and the rogue assassins. by the way,I can’t understand the downfall of the order of ancients from a precursor of the templars to a religious cult.
My list would be: (best to worst) 1. AC2/Brotherhood 2. AC1 3. AC Unity 4. AC Revelations 5. AC3 6. AC Origins 7. AC Syndicate 8. AC4 9. AC Odyssey 10. AC Valhalla 11. AC Rogue Its quite different. :D

Just finished Unity and syndicate. Now I just need to complete Origins and AC1
For me this is the most accurate ranking ❤
you know what I thought was a nice touch to the desert area when you go in it you can start seeing Mirage and if you follow them for a while once’s you get there it’s just blows away
As soon as I saw this video and title, I had to subscribed
I appreciate that, nice profile picture 😁
Massive respect for your origins takes
Your number 1 pick made me subscribe, :)
rogue is near the top for me, i think the time period and the location is very unique.
Your videos are amazing❤
My favorite thing about the setting in Unity and Syndicate is the griminess of the streets and alleys.
Great video, absolutely agree with Origins at number 1
i'd love them to go back and do each of the settings from the first one on there own they each deserve it
Great Video! Im just in love with Assassins Creed!
as a greek i loved what they did with oddesye
Although I appreciate the video, I felt you misunderstood alot of AC 1.
I'd love to know what makes you say that
@@TheHiddenOne690I think an important point is that Muslims weren't portrayed as villains.
I didn't say the story was about Muslims being villains. I just said that time period was an era where Muslims were frowned upon💙
Preach brother. And after all, the Muslims were the invading, oppressive force of the time. Luckily the invasive Umayyad Caliphate was ousted and replaced by the more cooperative Abbasid Caliphate.

I love the ac 2 series setting in italy, I just love it
Great video!
Wow you commented. I got inspiration from you for this video 😄. Thanks man
@@TheHiddenOne690 That is flattering, thank you. You do a great job explaining your views and keeping everything concise
Ancient egypt, Constantinopla and France are magical places for me, i can't believe those places and time periods are right there for me to explore, they hit differently, especially Constantinopla
I totally agree with your top 2, but I'd put Ac1 in 3rd place, I think it's stood the test of time and the location and music is absolutely gorgeous.
I agree with your top 3. For me though they I could place Black Flag, Odyssey or Origins at number 1 depending on how I feel at the time. All 3 are amazing settings.
Totally agree with your top 2 pick
For me Black Flag is my favourite AC game ever. The map is crazy. Such a good game !
Great Job Ubisoft 👍
The time when AC Revelations took place the name was already changed to Istanbul, but Ubisoft still decided to go with the name Constantinople because... reasons.
Odyssey FAR better than Orgins, more beautiful and more diverse while keeping a theme
Odyssey is 1 for me. Valhalla 2nd and origins 3rd.
i just wiched unity got a fps and resolution boost on ps5 Paris is just amazing.
The whole North Atlantic , Caribbean & all of the North American
Setup was my favourite
For me its has to be Italy as a whole, the Caribbean, the Greek islands and the deserts of Egypt. So much eye candy lol
I was always a fan of paris, Constantinople, the Caribbean and Egypt, and all of Italy was pretty great too :)
As a Viking nerd and a 9th century England nerd, Valhalla wins every time, just wish more Scandinavia was shown
Everyone has a different opinion for sure. Being Turkish from the Aegean cost I am super biased. I love Revelations and Odyssey. But storywise my favorites are AC2 and AC4 Black Flag.
AC Origins is the most amazing world design i have ever seen especially with the dlcs too
13:21 i didn't know you could do a backflip off of a horse onto a wooden beam!
What I really miss is the cloth physics from ac unity and origins. I hope we will see those again in mirage
That’s really tough. I just couldn’t decide which ones I liked the most. The only one I know for sure would be at the BOTTOM of my list every time would be AC1. That game desperately needs a remake to improve the world and basically everything else in it as well. I say that out of immense love for Altaïr’s story.
Origins is also my favourite ac game. Sometimes i would go to a high place and look at the world for like 10 minutes straight
AC vallaha above brotherhood is crazy work
Brotherhoods map is ass
I've always love the environments of Ac its what makes the games good and I agree that Ac Origins is the best environment.
3:12 wise choice to refer it to the "holy land" to avoid controversy if a highly sensitive issue..I wonder when ubi would make a far cry game set in modern day....
Most of the far cry games are set in the modern day, far cry 6 took place in 2021
Agree with Odyssey, I get it it may not be so related to Assassin's Creed base lore, but if you look at it from a normal perspective is nice game, for me, out of Origins/Odyssey and Valhalla, those RPG like ACs, Odyssey is the best.
I personally enjoyed Rogue. It was a bit of an underrated gem. For me the bottom of the list would be the first game.
I am currently playing Origins, and I am enjoying it immensely.
I always really enjoyed how unity did multiplayer we used to just fuck around and parkour
Assassins creed origins is so addictive 🔥
I would love a wild west, ancient rome or imperial Russia settled assassin's creed
Gotta agree with rogue’s ranking
AC rogue is amazing story wise but setting wise it isn’t unique. It feels like AC3 and AC4, it being 1700s americas and all.
AC rogues cut development of Quebec city pretty much removed the most important part of the 7 years war/ french and Indians war. Would've been a pretty good end game areas since it's in enemy territory and in the middles of a siege.
London
Greece
Viking era England and Ireland
In any order. Can't wait to add Japan to it.
Finally, someone that dont just put Ezio games or the first in the top 3 out of nostalgia
Say what you will about Odyssey, you can't deny that the setting is gorgeous
I agree
i think it’s very repetitive, all the cities look the same but the vast difference in nature and graphics save it
Origins is so goated, man. I don't care if it began the RPG trilogy, it's my favourite of the series.
My favourite settings.
1. Third Crusade.
2. Ptolemaic Egypt.
3. American Revolution.
4. Victorian London.
5. Renaissance Italy.
I dunno why people hate odessey
Probably because the main character isn't an asaasin

Dude your taste is… wow. So much more different than mine. Ac1 is goated, for an example, and Valhalla is so uninteresting for looking at. Damn.
I never got that far into Valhalla. It felt like they didn't really do much research into England and instead created a fantasy based off map and names.
I stopped playing after visiting Portchester Castle and saw it's nothing at all like the actual castle and is in the wrong place.
I love Paris from Unity
in my opinion amorges is one of the best villains, what the main game lacks in great villains is compensated by legacy of the first blade( the pactyas dying scene feels very much like the one of liam, amorges does too). my favorite villains are the persian order, the early colonial rite(monro, haytham and shay’s targets) and the rogue assassins. by the way,I can’t understand the downfall of the order of ancients from a precursor of the templars to a religious cult.
My list would be: (best to worst)
1. AC2/Brotherhood
2. AC1
3. AC Unity
4. AC Revelations
5. AC3
6. AC Origins
7. AC Syndicate
8. AC4
9. AC Odyssey
10. AC Valhalla
11. AC Rogue
Its quite different. :D
